Basically, the canteen food is solid, but I don't think the price is justified; neither the selection nor the quality of the "cooking" is up to scratch. Unfortunately, the portions are extremely small. The canteen is full because many people want to avoid the trip to a restaurant further away.

Then you quickly land at € 11-13 for carbonara, which you can get to the table with service and salad at the good Italian in Munich. For the same. Price. The quality of the ingredients is high in both cases. It is an attempt to position a canteen as a public restaurant. In my opinion, the attempt is a failure because in the long run it is too expensive for a canteen and too loud and uncomfortable for a restaurant. Please offer cheap alternatives for those who want to use the canteen every day and do not always refer to the side dish (the price/performance ratio is okay). Nobody needs several unusual recipes every day, which then cost €13 and significantly more for external ones. Offering a fried egg with potatoes and spinach for €8 (internal price!!) is also cheeky.

Only open to external visitors from 1 p.m. At this time the question is what else is there. And external parties pay a hefty surcharge for this. For that price elsewhere you get a drink, you're served and you're full.

Even if you have to bring your food to the table on a tray, this is far from a canteen. Very good, tasty food at a very fair price.
