I'd rather eat out of a garbage can than here. The fruit tastes like wood, and even a rat that'd been starving for three weeks wouldn't have touched the three fries. The cake was cut smaller than I expected from this establishment. My social credit is below rock bottom after this meal, and I'm sure I'll end up in the ER with three undetected infections. I'll spend the last two years of my life on the toilet and would rather overdose on fentanyl than eat here again. In the end, it turns out we unknowingly participated in illegal bioweapons experiments. Zyklon B tastes better than this garbage.

Ordered today. The food was good, but not as good as last time. We had duck with noodles. The noodles were very greasy, and there were no bean sprouts or vegetables in them like usual. Just the noodles. After messaging the manager, the only response I got was: It was delicious. Thank you. Oh well.

Strongly Europeanized. The Asian food is very lightly spiced, and I don't just mean the heat. Definitely not authentic, but it doesn't have to be—there are plenty of people who like it that way. If you want, you can spice things up with chili sauce or wasabi. The buffet selection is extensive, and the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed, which is a unique selling point at Saarbasar. The price for a buffet and one drink was €20.40 per person.

The worst restaurant I've ever been to.

So abysmal! Buffet dishes lukewarm! And when I responded, the answer was either they were eating too slowly or it was because it was cold outside, and they could heat it up in the microwave. Replies like that are completely unacceptable, plus I had to pay for not eating it, just tasting it. Absolutely not recommended. I'd recommend it once and definitely not again.

We had dinner again today and it was so bad (everything was way too salty). My wife and I felt so sick afterward. Has the kitchen staff been replaced or what's going on? Disgusting. The food used to be good, but it's seriously gone downhill in the last few months. What a pity.

I always eat there with my family from the buffet. It's good value for money. We rarely run out of dishes, but they're immediately refilled. With desserts, it sometimes happens that the edges of the cake are a little dry. But the fruit is always fresh. In general, the dessert selection could be a bit larger or different for my taste. I've never experienced a bad mood from the staff.

Unfortunately there is no vegan menu or vegan-labelled dishes. Nowadays you should at least be able to offer such options, because you have a lot of the ingredients in the restaurant anyway - so that shouldn't be a problem. I once created a vegan menu card as an example (see picture) so you can see how easy it can be. If something like this happens, I'd be happy to come. 🥰✌🏻

An average Asian buffet restaurant (also possible ala carte). The selection of dishes at the buffet (approx. €16 p.p.) is typical and sufficient. The taste is mostly delicious, but of course you shouldn't expect magic at this price. The presentation area was recently remodeled and the selection of sushi was increased. Here too you shouldn't expect top quality, but everything tastes good. The staff is friendly. It's difficult for me to rate the service itself since we only ate the buffet. What doesn't work at all are the toilets. Very outdated, dirty, sticky floor. Cobwebs up to the ceiling. Very unpleasant. Access to the restaurant either through the bazaar and the Adler branch or via the rear of the building with direct parking.

If you want to eat well and cheaply, you've come to the wrong place. I haven't been anywhere in my life where I haven't tipped. They actually had to pay me here. Not recommended. I don't know if the service or the food was worse.

Despite making a reservation by phone, there was once again no table available for our family celebration.

We had already ordered there. Last time the food was actually okay. But today we ordered again after my work and unfortunately the food just wasn't good. Rather absolutely inedible. It should be delivered at 8:11 p.m. (about an hour after ordering). However, it was only delivered after 9 p.m. Food was only lukewarm and tasted like it had been fished out of the trash and reheated. Very disappointing. I will never leave my money there again.

Unfortunately, my experience with Too Good To Go pickup at this restaurant was disappointing. The pickup time was stated from 8:00 p.m., but even at 8:20 p.m. the food was not ready because it was just being packed. This creates unnecessary waiting times - especially for people who rely on the bus or who have to plan their time. These delays visibly upset many guests. It would be urgent to better organize the pick-up times and adjust them realistically. That's why I give it a bad rating. Hopefully this will be improved in the future!

The food used to be better. We've all been feeling sick after eating there for a while now. In addition, the service has become really bad, you are asked once what you want to drink and then no one comes anymore. If you're lucky, the drink will be there 20 minutes after ordering and asking twice. Much of the buffet is ice cold (e.g. fries, mushrooms, etc.). They have now modernized the store and it looks more inviting. It's a shame that the rest has deteriorated.

All you can eat buffet. You can do it every now and then, things are okay. The chicken nuggets and chicken legs are almost certainly just frozen supermarket goods, the other meat dishes all have more or less the same sauce... But the selection is clear and everything is fine, but the culinary world of the Far East is not necessarily paid homage here. The price is very fair, which may also explain the points of criticism. I've always been a fan of the New Phoenix. Yesterday I was extremely disappointed. The food is not really warm and far from the previous quality and taste. The service is not very friendly/accommodating. The used dishes at our table were not cleared away, not even when we ordered drinks. The waitress just looked across the table in a rather unfriendly manner and went empty-handed to get our drinks. For me, the restaurant is no longer an option under this management.

Hello everyone, I was a guest on Thursday for years. I was there again after about a year. Unfortunately, it's no longer what it was. The food was ok, but it can't be that the food only consists of onions. I had to look for the beef because it was 80% There were only onions in it Service was top as always

We had dinner there late in the afternoon on Saturday. Unfortunately, I think the quality has deteriorated significantly. I've always enjoyed going there before, but this time it was probably my last visit for the time being. The rice was hard and dry, the noodles were bland and the rest was either dried out or had little to no seasoning. At first glance there was more choice for sushi than before, but upon closer inspection almost everything was filled with shrimp and the rice was very sticky. Too bad.

I was disappointed. My girlfriend and I visited the restaurant because of the good reviews and the unbeatable price. We were very disappointed with the selection. Half of the dishes were fried ready meals nuggets/fries/potato wedges… all other dishes were super greasy and oily. The rice in the sushi was way too thick Most of the fruit was inedible. For dessert there were tk cakes?! The food was lukewarm to cold The service was very reserved, cold and almost seemed unfriendly. It's better to pay 5 euros more and enjoy quality food Never again!

Simply INCREDIBLE... during the pandemic it was NO problem to deliver food - starter, main course plus additional sauces for two people - even to the most remote corner of Alt-Saarbrücken... today it was "closed" from the start after asking for the zip code far"...without listening to the order or waiting for the order value...Thanks...for nothing!

Lunch buffet: Curry sauce very bland - will be adapted to the average visitor, but I didn't like it at all; few vegetables (and no, dear angry citizens, I am not a vegetarian); some components significantly oversalted; Peanut sauce is largely tasteless (we can't figure out how to do it that way). Sweets: Cakes included, some surprisingly good. The food rating remains at only 2 because I wouldn't come here for cake. But delicious on its own. Overall the food was not convincing. Restaurant quite nice, service efficient.

My sister and I like to eat there. The buffet is very neatly set up. And it is always checked and constantly replenished.

So for me it's the best Chinese restaurant I've ever eaten. The meat was nice and tender and the vegetables were also steamed very well. I have no idea about fish because I generally don't eat fish. The ambience and staff are super nice. An empty plate doesn't sit around at the table for long. For me a smooth 10/10. Really recommended.

We were at the New Phoenix today, on a Thursday lunchtime around 2:30 p.m., and we really enjoyed it. The service was reserved but very friendly and quick. The buffet was plentiful, fresh and varied. My husband, a sushi lover, was really impressed with the selection. I stuck to the food at the buffet and got my money's worth. We enjoyed it wonderfully and the price was also reasonable. We didn't expect that and will definitely be back. Just the thing after a strenuous shopping trip.

I have no complaints about the cuisine. Good and fresh food with a wide variety of options. However, they should include the cost of drinks in the buffet pricing. 3.8 euros for a 200-300 ml coke or pepsi makes no sense because you end yourself getting two glasses of beverages, which is an additional 7.6 euros! 7.6 Euros only for drinks! I only gave it 3 stars for this reason.

Since my first visit, I have preferred eating there for the buffet. Price/performance is really great. Food is very tasty, very large selection. There is duck, chicken, beef, pork, fish, ice cream, various cakes, jelly and so on. I don't understand some of the reviews here, but that's also a typical German mentality when you expect a free buffet for your children. What a world some people live in... Also that someone complains that there are hardly any vegetarian dishes. xD boy, this is a Chinese buffet and not a veggie restaurant. Just inform us beforehand instead of complaining. It may be that the quality has decreased with the new owner, I only know the current one and that's definitely more than okay for me for €17.

Update March 2024: the quality of service and food has improved significantly again, the criticism has obviously been taken to heart, almost back to the level of the previous owners. Great go on. Unfortunately, the quality of service (you sit in front of empty plates and glasses for ages) and food (it's hardly ever refilled, looks like it's been sitting there for a long time, tastes mostly too salty) has declined significantly since the change of ownership. We used to go there often and with pleasure, only friendly, attentive staff and great food. Unfortunately, both are a thing of the past. We'll have to find a new restaurant. A pity.

I really enjoy using it to eat cheap sushi there and love the huge selection of desserts. But for me it's not where I would like to go for a fancy dinner in the evening. But very good as a buffet restaurant. I really like the food there, especially the huge selection of different food, if you can't find anything you can eat here, I can't help you. The service is always very nice and courteous. Unfortunately there are not enough staff for too many places. Which I think is a shame, but above all I feel very sorry for the staff there.

Absolute impudence from the employee. Ate the buffet there for €15.90. We didn't want anything to drink as we had a drink beforehand. After we had finished eating, the very unfriendly waitress came and told us (there is no information here on the website, neither in the restaurant nor on the menu or anywhere else) that it costs €1 more for each of us because we didn't buy any drinks. Was there for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The facility is a bit older, but the service, price and buffet were convincing. Despite the full local food, there was always fresh and plentiful food at the buffet.

A bit hidden "behind" the Saar bazaar but otherwise a good place for lunch or dinner. The food was tasty and hot, the drinks were cool, and the value for money was impeccable. I would describe the ambience as typical, nothing particularly stands out. Of course, this is not an address for an upscale Asian gourmet evening (I don't think that's the target group of the restaurant either) but for the price the service is worth 5 stars!

I've ordered there so many times and eaten there. I've never had such terrible food delivered like today!!! Duck on noodles totally charred, not suitable for consumption! At that price I would have brought the food back if I had been mobile! Absolutely no longer recommended since the owner changed

I've been to the New Phönix for a while now. The food was very fine. The buffet was always full, even though the restaurant was completely full. It was a successful meal.

We all ordered cards today. The food is served with a hot plate and warm plates. When the plates came we were totally amazed, they were portions that two people could have eaten from one plate. It was that much. But it was super tasty and hot😊👍 We had fried noodles with chicken and Bami Goreng with curry, slightly spicy but very good and juicy👍👍

We were regular customers, so to speak. We ate there regularly and enjoyed eating well. Celebrated birthdays too. Unfortunately since the ownership changed it is no longer good. The food doesn't taste as good anymore and the service is completely overwhelmed. You wait forever for drinks, the plates and glasses pile up on the table. It won't be put away. We then ordered 2x fried noodles to take away for the children. The big awakening at home was baked bananas. It's a shame that the "boss" is no longer there, she didn't have anything like that. It was our last visit to New Phoenix 😪

It used to be so delicious and cozy that we celebrated birthdays there with family and friends several times a year. But that will be the last time today. Some of the sushi was so dried out that you really wanted to spit it out. Broccoli and green beans hard as they may only have seen boiling water for a short time. The banana balls were rock hard and dried out, the sesame balls with the paste were so tough that you could hardly bite off a piece. Of the five pieces of duck on my plate, only one was edible, the rest was impossible to chew and no, I don't have bad teeth. The chicken in one dish tasted strange and had a sticky consistency. I was able to have a drink throughout my stay, as the service was conspicuously absent in an almost empty restaurant. Of course, I told the waitress exactly what I wrote here and the waitress also brought in a second woman to whom I told the whole thing again, but in the end no one was interested. We were also told in a very unfriendly way that card payments were very unpopular with them and that only cash payments were good. I don't want to form an opinion on this now, why why, but when the device failed last time, we of course went to get money. There's nothing they can do about it, but if everything works, it's up to me how I want to pay, if you do offer both. What annoys me the most is that we have spent so many great evenings there for at least ten years with good food, friendly service and top service. When we were there in December, for another birthday, we noticed that it wasn't what it used to be. Neither in terms of service nor quality, but today it really topped it all. It's a shame, but then we have to look around and see where we can become a new regular guest group from now on.

We have been celebrating birthdays with friends there for more than 10 years. We have always been satisfied, until today. It was horrible, the food was horrible. The vegetables were hard and tasteless. The baked bananas were probably two days old, they were so hard. I could list a lot. When we asked if the chef had changed, we were told no, it was the one who was always there. That cant be true. There were 20 people who had something to complain about, but we were basically ignored. They also didn't ask if you wanted something else to drink, so 20 people only had 1 drink. For us it was definitely the last time we were there. I'm sure several people have already said that because there were maybe 15-20 people in the restaurant. It's a shame, we really always enjoyed being there and at least 6-7 times a year. I almost forgot to write that card payments are undesirable. You basically have to open your wallet and show that you don't have any cash with you. I explained at least four times that I didn't have any cash and the waitress kept asking. It's sad what such a great restaurant has become

Seit das Restaurant im Sommer vorigen Jahres von neuen Pächtern übernommen wurde, fühle ich mich dort nicht mehr so wohl. Die Bedienungen sind völlig überfordert und lächeln fast nie. Mir fehlt das alte Team, dass mich und meine Familie immer herzlich empfangen hat.

I was a regular guest at the restaurant years ago. Today I ordered there for the first time and the food was really bad. Chicken with red Thai curry was swimming in fat, the actual sauce could only be found at the bottom. The fried noodles were soaked in soy sauce and rubbery. I have hardly eaten anything and the food is more than heavy on my stomach. I won't order there anymore.

Unfortunately it doesn't really deserve a star for me. Was there for the first time and unfortunately the food is anything but tasty. A lot of things were just too hard and didn't taste good and as a vegetarian there wasn't much to get from the buffet. Unfortunately the service was also very unfriendly. When we asked to wait before ordering the drinks because others were coming, we were pressured five times to order now because otherwise it would be too much, even though the restaurant was almost empty. Card payment was only grumpily accepted the third time you said you didn't have any cash. After complaining, the small shots were handed out to us without a word and a tray of fortune cookies was handed to us. Unfortunately we were there for the first and last time.

Ich hatte über Lieferando bestellt . Das Essen kam zügig und verdammt heiß an ! Die Gemüse , welche in den Gerichten verarbeitet werden , haben noch knackig Biss und das Essen allgemein war sehr frisch und fantastisch gewürzt. 😋 Ich würde jeder Zeit wieder dort bestellen. ❤️
