We had an amazing time! Mussels were really tasty and it’s a good portion for one, if you are hungry Fries were a bit too salty, but were nicely crispy though. Was good with mussels

Coming from France and living in Berlin, we struggle sometimes to find restaurants in which we can get the real taste of french dishes: here was one of the best! I had the « à la crème » ones and they definitely compete with my best memories of them in France. Congrats ! The short menu, the good fries with the « rouille » sauce as cherry on the cake make it be all worth it, even if you add ~3€ compared to French prices for this little reminder 🥰

The Muschelbar in Berlin is highly recommended! From the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere to the fantastic mussels and incredibly delicious fries, everything was truly perfect. I'll definitely be back!

Mussels for anyone who's never been to France. It can't be that you can get uncleaned mussels for €20.50 or more! They serve it with a broth that's supposed to be Provençal, but is made with dill? The fries dip tastes bland and has skin from sitting for so long. The mussels are okay, even if a bit unappetizing uncleaned. Especially at this hefty price. The dish, including fries, would have cost a maximum of €16 in France. The wine prices are truly outrageous, though. A house wine costs €8 for 0.1l, or €34 for 0.7l. This contradicts the very principle of house wine: it usually comes from a barrel or a large bottle and is sold cheaply as a 0.5l carafe for €10-13. The service is almost too friendly, trying to somehow excuse the fact that each table only has 1.5 hours to eat by constantly asking if everything is OK. For everyone? Nope. For all the tourists who aren't French. Overly pretentious and simply not authentic and simple, as a simple French dish should be. A shame!

There weren't any tables available, but we were still allowed to eat on a bench by the tree. The fries were perfect with the mussels!🤤

10/10 place for a great date night!

We visited as a group of three and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Everything we ordered was spot-on. The mussels were perfectly cooked—flavorful, tender, and served hot. The bread was fresh and perfect for soaking up the broth, and the fries were crispy and tasty, just the way they should be. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient. The staff made us feel welcome and everything came out in good time. It’s hard to find a place that gets every element right, but this one absolutely delivered. This is exactly how a mussel bar should be run—great food, great atmosphere, and no missteps. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious, and the shop is very nice and well located. Unfortunately, waking up with food poisoning after eating mussels there isn't so nice. That's less fun.

We had a lovely time at Muschelbar! The atmosphere is charming, although it was quite hot inside during our visit. Luckily, we managed to get a table without a reservation, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The Sauvignon Blanc was absolutely outstanding – truly one of the highlights of the evening. I really enjoyed the Moules Frites; the mussels were fresh and flavorful. However, the French fries were a bit of a letdown, tasting more like standard frozen fries. While the prices are definitely on the higher side, it’s a great spot for a special occasion or a relaxed dinner for two or with a small group. All in all, a very enjoyable experience – I’d happily come back!

Been there last night!! It is so crowded and service is really organized and fast!! We had muscles in white wine and fries with some toppings. Muscles are 12/10 and fries were ok. Also, had the best aperol spritz ever

I can absolutely recommend this restaurant 100%. Not only were the mussels absolutely delicious and the Spritz delicious, but the service was also exceptionally friendly and prompt. I don't think I've ever experienced a nicer and more helpful waiter in Berlin. Since space is limited and the restaurant is incredibly popular, reservations are definitely recommended. I'll definitely be back again! It feels like Paris.

5 stars – Almost perfect, with a small criticism of the fries We were here yesterday to eat mussels – and what can I say: the atmosphere was top-notch, the service was super friendly, the beer was ice-cold, and the mussels were absolutely fantastic! Fresh, aromatic, and perfectly prepared. You can tell the food is cooked with love. But… the fries. Unfortunately, they were those modern "coated fries" – fries with an artificially crispy starch or flour coating. They stay crispy for a long time, but have that typical "crunchy franchise flavor" that almost overwhelms the real potato taste. Especially with such great mussels, we would have preferred classic, fine pommes allumettes without that coating – like you'd find in Belgium or Northern France. Without that crunch, the mussels and fries here would have been a real highlight for us! Conclusion: Great shop, great food, great people – with a little fries adjustment it would be 100% perfect for us.

Absolutely wonderful place to eat mussels. Fresh and juicy mussels prepared in any styles you can think of. Service is super friendly and welcoming. Warning: small space with the best mussels so expect no tables without reservations. This bar fills up very quickly.

This was so so so good. The best mussels in Berlin. We got a la maison with peas and blue cheese and it was delicious. The fries were amazing as well. The portion was big too we share the one in the picture as 2 people and we were so full at the end. We went early and got lucky so we didn’t have to make reservation but it is highly recommended if you go there in a busy night. The atmosphere, the design of restaurant was also pretty good. It was an amazing meal , highly recommend this place and will try the other kinds of mussels as well next time.

Very cool place. I love small intimates and fun place like this. Small menu which is amazing, focus only on mussels and they do it perfectly. The wine is really good and staff has great recommendations. The lady who was working there that day was so fun and made us have an amazing night. Cannot with to go back there.

There are 1.5 hour slots allocated in the evening - so you're a bit rushed and it won't be comfortable.

RESERVE A SPOT FIRST! We were just gonna get something light before dinner, but it was so good we ended up reordering. Crispy fries and fresh Muschel. It‘s tasty and great wine collections. the small intimate bar is quite full on Saturday at 17:00 so best plan your visit ahead to ensure you’ll get a table.

The mussel bar is simply a 10/10! The food, the wine selection, the service - perfect.

It was on my list for such a long time. I’m a huge fan of moules frites and these didn’t disappoint! There’s no « classic » per se (such as marinière), and I only tasted the white wine and vermouth moules and the mejillones and both were extremely tasty! The fries were also delicious, stayed warm for long, thin and crunchy! The rouille was on spot. We got naughty and also had dessert, special note to the fondant au chocolat! Will definitely have the iced lemon in summer. Also worth mention is the amazing staff working there. Very friendly, professional, they made a great impression. 100% recommended!

An absolutely wonderful restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great, but what really gives this place five stars are the staff and owner. When we had a small issue with our meal, Martin (the owner) went out of his way to make it right. Just make sure to book a table, because it fills up fast!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of getting a table in the Muschel Bar and we really couldn't have had a nicer start to the weekend. The mussels were amazing and the service was great. You can't stay there for long, as the next guests will look for their seats after the reserved hour and a half. We were there at 5 p.m., which has the advantage that the small, charming shop is not yet bursting at the seams. After a visit there, there are countless bars nearby to end the evening. We ended up in the panties bar next door and were very happy there too.

Absolute perfection on the 3xfried fritte, like you used to get in Brussels but no more — and the mussels. The sauces were a little heavy handed but makes sense given it’s Berlin and a lot of drinking’s happening. The house aperitif is superb, and the wine recommendation we got by the glass was superb. Also, I had the ridiculous winter special with gorgonzola, almonds, and brussel sprouts, and loved it. Nothing vegan but the drinks.

This place is known for its delicious mussels, and the menu changes from time to time, keeping things fresh and exciting. It's the perfect spot to enjoy amazing mussels and have a great time chatting with friends over wine. We went with friends and had a fantastic experience. I can’t recommend it enough!

I can only warmly recommend the mussel bar! The mussels were to die for – fresh, tender and perfectly seasoned. There were also the best fries I've had in a long time - crispy and golden brown. The vibe in the bar was super relaxed and inviting, you immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is perfect for a cozy evening with friends or a romantic dinner. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Definitely a place I will visit again and again!

Went there last Sunday evening and were glad we had reserved. Apparently it's already widely known that you'll get your money's worth here, because the mussel bar was full and so we had to wait a bit for our table, although we were there a little too early. Nevertheless, we received a friendly welcome from the service and were already provided with delicious drinks. So we were able to take in the stylish ambience. After a short time we were able to go to our table and order two of three menu options. Even though the restaurant was full, we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The food itself was phenomenal, simply delicious and very well balanced. You'll be served delicious bread to dip the delicious brew into and you'll really get your money's worth! You can really tell that they have specialized in a limited selection here. The espressos at the end were also delicious. All in all one of the best, if not the best, restaurant visit in Berlin. An absolute recommendation if you fancy mussels!
