Münsters in Leipzig

It is and remains my favorite place in Leipzig because I love everything: the service is excellent, the atmosphere is very pleasant, and so far everything has always tasted great and been freshly prepared. And not to forget the excellent wines they selected: exactly my taste! Thanks to the team – I'll continue to enjoy coming here.

Unfortunately, I have to report my unpleasant experience from my visit to Münsters. Generally, the restaurant is cozy and inviting. The food is also well prepared and tasty. Unfortunately, the service was the problem during our visit. We were practically ignored. After the aperitif, we would have liked a glass of wine with the main course. But we weren't asked, nor were the starter plates cleared, so the main course arrived, leaving the old plates on the table. At this point, too, we weren't asked for a wine or anything similar, and there was no time to ask for it ourselves, or rather, we were told that someone would be there shortly. Even after we had finished the main course, no one from the staff came to us. The plates remained on the table. When we first ordered, we were told that we could choose dessert after the main course. We weren't asked afterward either. When it's very busy, this can happen, but the other tables were proactively asked, but we were "ignored." After a while, we apparently had to flag someone down. When I politely pointed out the situation, they simply said they didn't want to disturb us. I asked for the bill and the aperitif was waived, but there was still no apology. My wife paid that evening, and before we left, she was handed the catering receipt. I've never experienced anything like that before, as we were obviously not at a business dinner. Despite the good food, it was unfortunately not a pleasant evening for us.

This restaurant is one of the best in Leipzig. Unfortunately or fortunately not centrally located, you'll be pampered in a historic setting. There's a daily specials menu with fish, meat, and vegetarian dishes. The portions are filling and freshly prepared. Competent and cheerful service make the visit a pleasant experience. To put it bluntly: André Münster's restaurant "Münsters" is one of the best restaurants in Leipzig—if not the very best. It's an insider tip and perhaps a little harder to find for unfamiliar people. Unlike the tourist restaurants, it's not located in the city center, but rather in the magnificent neighborhood of the Gohlis Castle and magnificent villas. "Münsters" is located in an old converted mill, and the ambiance is correspondingly rustic and cozy. Without a reservation, it might be very difficult for walk-ins to find a seat. This might be a little easier in the adjoining beer garden, although there is also high demand there. The small, very fine menu changes frequently, is always seasonally adapted, and also offers interesting delicacies for vegetarians. All dishes are exquisitely prepared and very decoratively presented. They are subtly seasoned and taste excellent. You might think you're dining in a Michelin-starred restaurant. But here the portions are large enough to really fill you up. And: Even individual requests are accommodated, and if necessary, the finest food can be conjured up from under the bonbon, even far from the menu. We were here on Saturday evening, of course not without having reserved four places in advance. The occasion was our son's 10th birthday, which we had already mentioned when making the reservation. Our son was greeted with appropriate attention, with warm congratulations and a bouquet of flowers on the table. We started with an aperitif. It was supposed to be non-alcoholic – and it was. Delicious, to boot. Very well-selected wines and other specialties, rarely found in restaurants, make your heart beat faster. This makes every evening a success in a beautiful atmosphere – especially when it really matters. As a host, you will never embarrass yourself here; instead, you will go home very impressed and full, just like yourself. Wonderful location for getting together or for a small spontaneous visit for a beer or wine. Very attractive location. Well maintained, clean and modern. The waitresses were very friendly and also introduced the drink themselves (origin, age, taste, etc.). Very happy again!

Beim nächsten Leipzig-Aufenthalt schauen wir wieder vorbei. Es scheint heute auch ein Vorteil für Restaurants zu sein, wenn Pkw-Parkplätze in der Nähe sind. Das ist hier der Fall.

Man hat hier das Gefühl dass das Servicepersonal sich gerne um die Gäste kümmert. Das Essen war gut. Die Wünsch zum Garpunkt des Steak wurden exakt umgesetzt. Die Weinempfehlungen passten zum Essen. Es gab keine unnötigen Wartezeiten. Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Abend.

The ambience (probably a former warehouse) is rather average for a restaurant that wants to offer fine cuisine.

Ich kann der Bewertung von AJB1268 voll und ganz zustimmen. Das Essen war nicht schlecht aber der Service eine Katastrophe. In Bezug auf den Wein ist uns praktisch 1:1 das gleiche passiert nur, dass es ein Weißwein war der einfach mal getauscht wurde. Scheint System zu haben. Leider wurde dadurch der Abend mit Freunden regelrecht torpediert, weil die sich gefragt haben, wohin ich sie da geführt habe… Schade, wir waren gerne im Münster‘s zu Gast.

Das positive zuerst: Das Essen war wie immer gut, kreativ und schmackhaft. Leider ist der Service nicht mehr annähernd so wie früher. Herr Münsters hat sich an unserem Tisch sehr rar gemacht, seine beiden jungen Mitarbeiter -insbesondere der, der sich für die Weine verantwortlich fühlt- müssen noch viel lernen. Gäste werden von dem Herrn nicht so richtig ernst genommen. Bedient werden möchte ich von Ihm zukünftig nicht mehr. Ich hatte vornweg ein fränkisches helles Bier bestellt. Serviert wurde mir ein Pils mit der flapsigen Bemerkung: Das schmeckt auch. Geht gar nicht! Aber es ging noch weiter. Ich wollte explizit keinen Primitivo sonder einen anderen Rotwein im Barrique ausgebaut. Serviert hat er -ohne Alternative- einen Primitivo. Was soll das? Vielleicht sollte er besser als Oberlehrer arbeiten. Von Service und Kundenzufriedenheit hat er keine Ahnung.

There are around 25 places, which are well distributed. So it's not too loud. The menu was very well put together and you can also put together the dishes individually as a menu. The food was excellent and 5* for that. At the beginning the service was attentive. Unfortunately, the service dropped off significantly after the main course. The dessert wine had to be requested repeatedly and after ordering the digestif, unfortunately none of the employees or the owner came to take orders. That's a shame, otherwise 5*. Food, ambience are great; suitable price; Service is at 4*.

A safe bet when it comes to good food in Leipzig! Small but nice and regularly changing menu. The food is creative, tastes good and fills you up. The wine selection is very personal and has always been a perfect match. Please stay exactly like that! 😉

We had such a lovely evening at your restaurant. Staff was very friendly, relaxed atmosphere and everyone loved their food. It had a real neighbourly vibe witnessing so many people greeting one another. Only thing to say is that it would be great to have a drinks menu even though the menu changes often, maybe a drinks menu of everything that you always got there such as cocktails and beer, then printing a separate menu for wine whenever it changes.

Helles vom Fass, kleine aber feine Biergartengerichte (Brezn, Leberkas, Obazda…) und am Ausschank wird man sehr zuvorkommend bedient. Der Biergarten ist übersichtlich aber dadurch eher ruhig und gemütlich. Den Wurstsalat muss man gegessen haben. Super angemacht und richtig gutes Brot dazu.

Wir haben einen sehr angenehmen Abend im Münsters verbracht. Das Essen schmeckte sehr köstlich. Zudem bekamen wir eine individuelle, passende und durchdachte Weinbegleitung🍷 Wir können das Münsters uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Der Biergarten im Münsters zählt zu den schönsten Biergärten in Leipzig. Meine Favoriten von der Karte: Ein Helles und dazu den köstlichen Wurstsalat. Hinzu kommt der besondere Charme und die freundliche Bedienung. Ich kann das nur weiterempfehlen.

Als Suppe gab es eine Hummersuppe mit Meeresfrüchten als Einlage. Sehr gut gewürzt! Der Zwischengang waren Ravioli gefüllt mit Austern. Dazu Babykarotten, Bohnen, Kaviar und Champagnersoße. Eine sehr gelungene Kombination. Der Hauptgang war Lamm mit einem Stück Pilzstrudel und Blumenkohl. Das Lamm war unglaublich. Und als Dessert gab es eine wunderbare Crème brûlée. Doch ebenso wie die Küche essen zaubert ist auch der Service den man bekommt sehr gut. Eine gute Beratung im Thema Wein fehlte ebenfalls nicht. Immer wieder gerne. Ich kann es nur allen empfehlen hier einen Abend zu verbringen!

Eines der besten Lokale der Stadt mit einem der besten Biergärten der Stadt. Dazu super Leute im Service - und zwar teilweise seit Jahren die gleichen. Das spricht für sich. Die Brotzeiten im Biergarten sind super lecker, das Bier schmeckt. Das wird wieder öfter diesen Sommer.

Tolles Essen. Angenehmes Ambiente. Wir waren als kleine "Freundinnenrunde" zum Essen verabredet. Leider hatten wir uns wohl zuviel zu sagen... denn mit den Worten " die Teller nehmen wir jetzt mal mit, damit die Küche weiter kommt" - wurden uns die nicht ganz leeren Teller entzogen. Ein bisschen Geduld, damit das wirklich nette Ambiente genossen werden kann, wäre wirklich fein. ...und. Nicht Jeder | Jede findet es angenehm, gleich geduzt zu werden.

Tolles gemütliches Restaurant mit einen sehr aufmerksamen Team. Kurz und knapp: als Vorspeise gab es Ziegenkäseravioli, leider haben diese zu sehr nach Roquefort Käse geschmeckt und nicht nach Ziegenkäse. Endlich konnte ich meinen Geburtstagsgutschein für ein Essen im Münsters einlösen. Da dieses Restaurant schon lange auf meiner To do Liste stand habe ich mich dementsprechend sehr auf den Abend gefreut. Aufgrund des Wetters nahmen wir im Gastraum Platz. Das Ambiente ist ansprechend, die Stühle gemütlich, so dass man ohne Probleme einige Stunden gut sitzen kann. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und die Weinberatung ebenfalls in Ordnung. Unser 3-Gänge-Menü war sehr lecker und für das Auge ansprechend angerichtet. Auch der Gruß aus der Küche am Anfang und zwischendurch hat positiv überrascht. Ebenso die Portion des Rinderfilets, welche ausreichend groß war, was man oftmals in dieser Preisklasse gar nicht erwartet. Vielen Dank dem Münsters für einen schönen Abend. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Ich bin überwältigt vom Münsters. Ich habe heute 4 exquisite Gänge genossen (leider nicht alle fotografiert). Gruß aus der Küche, Feigenfrischkäse, so was leckeres! Hummersuppe, feines Spiel zwischen Süße und Schärfe, genial, ein wunderbar zartes Lamm, die tiefdunkle Soße zum Lamm, die Zeit hatte, Geschmack zu entfalten, ein Wahnsinn, köstlich. Der empfohlene Wein, zuerst ein außergewöhnlich raffinierter und feiner Chardonnay aus dem Languedoc, der genial zur Suppe passte, dann ein eleganter italienischer Amarone 2013 Serego Alighieri Vaio Armaron della Valpolicella Classico vom Traditionsweingut Masi 2013, waren exakt genau so, wie ihn der Kellner, ein Connaisseur, „der mit seinen Weinen spricht“, beschrieben hat. Der Preis vom Wein extrem fair. Was für ein tolles Lokal und welche Liebe zum Essen und den Weinen entgegengebracht wird. Wie wunderbar fachlich exakt die Beratung, das schöne Lokal. Das Restaurant wurde uns schon oft empfohlen und nun haben wir es endlich getestet Wir waren leider alle 4 enttäuscht, sagen wir es war ok Ich hätte gern ein Gut gegeben, gab es nicht zur Auswahl und ein sehr gut ist übertrieben Preis-/Leistung passt meiner Meinung nach nicht zusammen Auf Kritik wurde eher belehrend reagiert, bei verschiedenen Bestellungen wurde man schief angeschaut z.B. wenn man zu Beginn einen Kaffee bestellt Der Service war ok Am besten war die Suppe u die Gnocchi , allerdings sind 25€ für Gnocchi zu viel Sehr schade, aber für das Preisgefüge haben wir mehr erwartet

Das Münsters ist seit Jahren unser Lieblingsrestaurant in Leipzig, aber was sie uns heute auf den Tisch gebracht haben ist nochmal eine Spur besser als alles was wir sonst hier gegessen haben(und das war schon auf einem sehr hohen Niveau). Daher möchten wir uns auf diesem Wege nochmal für den hervorragendenden und unkomplizierten Service das sehr gute Essen von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert und dem damit verbundenen sehr schönen Abend im Münsters bedanken.

Die Qualität des Essens ist sehr gut, die Weinauswahl ebenfalls, das Personal ist freundlich, aufmerksam und in der Lage stets eine angenehme Atmosphäre zu schaffen. Wir haben unseren Besuch im Münsters sehr genossen. Vielen Dank.

Restaurant sympathique dans la banlieue de Leipzig. Le filet de boeuf est un régal, avec champignons, brocoli et purée de pommes de terre. En entrée, le filet de veau fumé avec chutney de poire est aussi bon qu'original. Le patron connaît sa carte des vins par coeur et conseille très judicieusement. Une excellente adresse.

Ein sehr netter Ort in Leipzig, um einen schönen Abend zu verbringen. Das Essen ist wirklich lecker und die Bedienung freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Die Küche ist hervorragend und das Ambiente sehr angenehm. Auf jeden Fall eine tolle Alternative für ein Essen in Gohlis!

Ich bin von Beruf Koch und es ist sehr schwer ein gutes Restaurant in Leipzig zu finden aber dieses Restaurant ist das beste in Leipzig, super Qualität, nettes Personal, gute Empfehlung, und schön eingerichtet. Vielen lieben Dank 🌹🌹

Fantastic place for dinner. Unpretentious in appearance, it really shows its capabilities with food and wine. Service was great, friendly and helpful.

Our second visit to Münsters confirms it—this restaurant is fabulous. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is warm and cozy, but it is the personalized service that sets Münsters apart from the rest. From the wait staff to the sommelier to the chef himself serving the main dish and inquiring as to our satisfaction afterwards, the customer is king.

My son and his wife wanted to take me to dinner somewhere special. Munsters was easy to reach on the No. 4 tram and had a nice atmosphere when we walked in. Staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The menu was not large but there was a good range of choice. I had the Quail to start and the Pork Cutlet main. Both were excellent. You do not leave hungry. The wine waiter suggested some wines after discussing what we would like. The final choice was perfectly good. We needed gluten and lactose free options and these were provided with ease and confidence. Booking is wise as it was busy. A very nice evening
