I can only review the restaurant itself: fast service, tasty food with a fair price-performance ratio. At least a few vegetarian dishes—and even one vegan option—are on the menu.

The food was excellent, and the Coburg dumplings are especially recommended. The service and the owner left a very positive impression.

We were at the restaurant for our Christmas party. The service was excellent. The food was also very good, but unfortunately cold. We complained to the chef, but he was very uncooperative and insulted us (others would have sent it back). It's a real shame; they could have accepted the criticism without hesitation and simply done better. The one star is solely due to the rude chef or owner.

The food here is great. The staff are friendly and efficient. The decor is lovely. The vaulted cellar is amazing, but it's only open in the evenings.

We were here for dinner. The food was tasty, the staff friendly, and the restaurant itself very cozy.

The entire meal tasted reheated, not freshly prepared. The liver dumpling soup was nothing special, under-salted, and poorly presented. The pumpkin soup tasted okay, but was also presented without care and lacked croutons. The goose breast was dry, lacked flavor, and could have used more seasoning. The bread dumpling with mushroom sauce had hardly any taste; the dumpling was dry, and the sauce also tasted reheated. The salad was dressed with too much dressing and lacked any special ingredients. The service, however, was friendly.

Just a quick note about our own services. We're always open to constructive criticism and constantly working to improve. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate it if our guests would inform us immediately and voice any criticism before it's posted online without first verifying its authenticity. It's not pleasant for us either when our valued guests aren't satisfied. And quite frankly, we sometimes find it a bit odd when questionable companies contact us after negative reviews and offer to delete them for a substantial sum. It leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth. This isn't to say that there aren't guests who have occasionally been dissatisfied.

A great place to stay, right on the pedestrian zone, with a parking garage next door (and parking spaces at the hotel). The room had everything you need, and drinks in the minibar were included in the price. Highly recommended.

Centrally located, large room, bathroom with a shower. The water pressure is a bit low, and the step-in is relatively high, making it not recommended for people with limited mobility. This is also evident in the photos when booking. Otherwise, it's well-equipped, clean, and nicely furnished. The service is really great. Very friendly staff prepare the breakfast with love. This restaurant doesn't deserve the name Hofbräu. Incompetent staff. Although there was a children's menu, it wasn't brought to us. We had to ask three times for ours. We were rudely ignored. Prices don't reflect the service. Absolutely not a recommendation!

Good food, beer garden, well, so-so

Good place to eat, delicious food, Schäufele, Schnitzel, Sauerbraten, Kaiserschmarren, all very, very tasty, very good value for money, very friendly staff!

Unfortunately, it's not worth a star – except for the location. Service – nonexistent. Making a family with a small child wait 45 minutes while serving a group of tourists multiple times in that time is unacceptable and an absolute disgrace. No apology – no acceptance of responsibility. This place will never see us Coburg residents again! A shame.

A total disaster. The service doesn't deserve the name. We ordered, after over 45 minutes, we paid for our drinks, and left because the food hadn't arrived... Only when we paid and said we'd waited more than 45 minutes and hadn't received any response did we get the sober question: "Didn't anything come?" This place is a pure tourist trap, nothing more. For the prices they charge, you expect at least some service.

The food is okay. The service is good. Reservations are recommended. What's really nice is that this restaurant is open all day, with no lunch break.

I only visited the restaurant. It's located in the heart of Coburg and is quite large. The food is typically Franconian, and the beer is tasty.

Service was slooow, very slow and uncoordinated (2 servers blaming each other for forgotten items). Some sides arrived after the main meal was almost finished. Food was meh, nothing to write home about.

I ate there with my family. I didn't see the room so can't say anything about it, but we sat on a rather "cheap" bench with meager cushions. I can't complain about the service, although perhaps a small smile wouldn't have been a bad idea instead of the blank expression on their faces. The food... -> The reason for the recession. We had the Honigschweinderl, the Frankenliebe and a Franconian Sauerbraten. All the food itself was cold/lukewarm, probably warmed up in the microwave, not particularly good quality and you could tell from the dumplings that it was made in a supermarket. And that's really pathetic for the high price. It's a chic location in itself and I wish you the best of luck in the coming years, but please make sure the food is reasonable for the price or get a new chef. And for all the customers who want to come there, don't.

We were there for dinner late in the afternoon on the weekend with a larger group. The dining room is attractive, the service is initially courteous but subsequently overwhelmed. The food is mediocre in relation to the price (taste & portion size). It was noticeable that the sanitary facilities were dirty (obviously not from the same day, as there were hardly any guests there at the time).

December 30, 2024, and Monday, it's a bit difficult to get a normal lunch in a German restaurant in Coburg city center without a reservation. Not so in MH. Very friendly and uncomplicated reception for four people. Despite a full house, the service was fast and the food was very good (special salad, giant currywurst, and half a portion of Meerch). It's great that they also offer smaller portions of roast meats!!! A well-balanced menu, makes you want more. The price of a beer for CO at €4.10 is always a nuisance for me; €3.90 would be okay for me as a Coburger. But it's also just a small quibble to complain about. After the long back-and-forth in MH, I wish you much success. At the current level, we all felt very comfortable and would love to come back. It's a great big restaurant and a great addition to CO. Happy New Year and much success to the team for 2025🥂

We got a table spontaneously, when we ordered the food there were a few changes in the order (from Klos to Bread Dumpling, red cabbage to savoy cabbage). The food came pretty quickly, only the reordering went wrong. The response was overwhelmingly unfriendly. Since we were still missing a savoy cabbage, we asked again, but the response was somewhat unfriendly. The bread dumpling no longer tasted fresh and the savoy cabbage also took a lot of getting used to. In terms of heat, it's just enough to eat. The empty plates were also cleared away without comment.

The service was good, but the food was at best acceptable, the cheese spaetzle felt like it had more cream than cheese and boiled onions instead of fried onions on top.

In the middle of the city in an inconspicuous alley, hardly any parking spaces, otherwise the food is good average, the restaurant looks like a Hofbräuhaus. We can't say anything negative, we recommend it.

October 28th, 2023 I had an excellent meal here and had friendly service. The Schäufele cannot be beaten. Clear recommendation. Stopped here again on October 21st, 2024. For once it's not a Schäufele but a giant currywurst that deserves its name.

I have never been so disappointed after visiting a restaurant. When I first looked at the menu I noticed the expensive prices, theoretically not a problem if the food is good and sufficient. But when the small sauerbraten with dumpling and red cabbage was delivered, the low point of the evening was reached. Price-performance ratio 1/10, €15.90 for a dumpling (diameter 5cm) and two slices of sauerbraten (diameter 5cm, maximum height 0.5cm) and 30-50g red cabbage. After I ate €15.90 I was about 20% full, which was a shame. But the worst thing was the dumpling, colder than room temperature... how is that possible?! We were the only ones in the whole restaurant and the food wasn't even warm... impossible! I advise against this restaurant and I will never set foot there again.

I was very disappointed and am slowly afraid that our restaurants are going down the drain, a schnitzel for 17€ and the side dish extra, small children's schnitzel with a side dish for 16€, nothing special, just outrageous! I have to work for it too!!!!!!

We went there for dinner with 2 adults and a child. Unfortunately I can't share the 5 star reviews for the food. The food was of maximum commercial kitchen quality. The bratwursts were not properly fried and very greasy, as were the fried potatoes. The Franconian sauerbraten had little seasoning. We were there for the second time, but also the last time. We expected more based on the last reviews. The service was relatively quick due to the few tables being occupied. Quality / price?

Annoyed and overwhelmed employees in the inn. When we asked for a table for two, we had the impression that we should actually go back. Instead of handing us a card, it was more important to date on our cell phone behind the counter. And no, it wasn't an orderman or something similar. We definitely don't know where we're going anymore. The snack bar around the corner has more service and friendliness!

Like in the real Hofbräuhaus in Munich. More bad than right. Sauerbraten, without side salad, €19.80 A compliment to the kitchen: It's amazing that you can cut a roast that was already a bit overcooked into 4mm thick slices. In terms of taste, it wasn't really sauerbraten either. Impudence! Service was friendly, but waiting 25 minutes to pay was a bit too much.

Was in the hotel with friends on Ascension weekend. When we came back from our tour in the afternoon we wanted to drink a few beers before going to the room. Although only one table was occupied outside and 3 tables were free and not reserved, we were shouted at why we didn't reserve. When chewing gum arrived, the condition stood in front of us and said she had to teach us. We then decided to eat somewhere else. Apparently they don't need to bother with guests. The breakfast lady, on the other hand, was very friendly.

The inn is a bit hidden in the city center, but worth a visit. A nice selection of regional and seasonal food and drinks. The dishes were freshly prepared and were very tasty. The service was okay, but there was still room for improvement in terms of friendliness. All in all, you get what you can expect here: rustic atmosphere, good beer and food!

Very tasty food, very friendly service, very cold beer! I was on a business trip and we actually wanted to go to another restaurant. However, the menu of the Münchner Hofbräu and the external flair appealed to me much more. The ambience inside is also very warm and inviting. We, two people, were offered a place without any problems. The drinks came quickly and were nice and cold. I ordered sauerbraten and was full and very satisfied afterwards. I'd love to come back when I'm in Coburg again.

There is no free parking available which resulted in a long hike to a parking lot in the city center. Additionally, there was no WiFi router available. Overall the review was satisfactory but overall it gets 2½ out of 5 stars!!!

At first the waitress didn't bother to look after us, then allocated us a seat, then chatted with a colleague for a long time, then came to get drinks and brought the menu when we wanted to order food. Unfortunately, there was nothing today, even though there was food all the time according to their boards. We will never visit this restaurant again.

We invited 14 people (reserved) there yesterday. As usual, the food was very tasty and recommended, but this time it only took a relatively long time. When it closed at 8:15 p.m.!!!!! the kitchen so we couldn't get dessert and the coffee machine was also broken; The sauce reorder never arrived at our table. It was therefore a short evening. That's why we probably won't bring guests there anymore. A pity. If we wanted to, we could have made significantly more sales both yesterday and in the future.

One of the few places where you can still get something delicious at lunchtime. Not just cafes on every corner in Coburg.
