We've had the pleasure of enjoying the excellent service on board the MS Helgoland many times. The staff are nice, friendly, and helpful. We can only thank you for the amazing service. Just yesterday, on the return trip from the island festival. It's not an easy job, especially with the diverse passengers. Thank you again. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, card payments are not possible! These days, this should be possible at sea, too. Remember to bring cash, or you'll be stuck for a dry crossing.

I have nothing to complain about with the team and would generally recommend the breakfast dishes, but unfortunately, if you have limited cash reserves, you won't be able to enjoy them (keyword: raiding your piggy bank). How about an upgrade to the modern age? It's not necessary to offer card payments. As long as there's an internet connection (about halfway through the journey), ordering and paying via QR code, online shop, PayPal, Google Pay, etc. would be possible. That works in Iceland, Thailand, and probably Namibia... Just not in the digital desert of Germany.

Breakfast is negligible. Rolls are a disgrace, taste like they are two days old. Toppings such as sausage, cheese, etc. Okay, but nothing of high quality. However, the prices, no matter what you order, are very “high quality”. Service is hard...

Absolutely top-notch. There was nothing negative to report on either the outbound or return journey. A very nice, relaxing crossing to Heligoland. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly. Thank you all so much.

The breakfast on board is a pleasant and delicious start to your vacation. Booking in advance is recommended. The hot dishes are also good. The service staff is always very friendly and dedicated to ensuring guest satisfaction.

On board the MS Helgoland, we felt very comfortable at the Knieper Restaurant on both the outward and return journeys. We enjoyed delicious kale and currywurst (each of us for ourselves, of course), and our beer and all other drinks were served quickly and at the right temperature. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. The value for money (€20 for kale, €12 for the really large currywurst) is also absolutely acceptable. Thank you very much, and keep up the good work!!! :-)

We have been coming to Helgoland for several years (see other reviews). We used to take the catamaran from Hamburg. The prices were no longer sustainable and we then switched to the MS Helgoland. The service around the trip, including breakfast reservations (also with special requests) is absolutely great, uncomplicated and just nice (regardless of whether on site or on the phone). We were even able to reserve our favorite table in advance (we simply wanted to be able to welcome back the extraordinarily nice service staff from the last few years). We always take the rich captain's breakfast (note: order in advance; cannot be ordered on site). The price is absolutely right (only the topping can be seen in the photo, of course rolls and bread are included). In summary: The holiday begins here with the very friendly welcome and the crossing is made very pleasant (weather is to be assessed separately). Always and happily again. I struggled with the shipping company for a long time, but was enthusiastic about the gastronomy. Thanks to Jessica & Janina + team we had a great time on board the Helgoland. This makes the crossing entertaining and pleasant when you are looked after so wonderfully. You are wonderful!

We've been going to Heligoland for over 10 years and I can't remember having such bad service at the "Knieper". The service person (Janina) behaved extremely unprofessionally. Despite asking three times to pay, we were ignored. The fact that we got up and obviously waited for them didn't matter either. Apparently she wanted to decide for herself when she would cash in on which table! Our family doesn't want to be told when we can pay to go to another place on the ship.

Very good food and drink offerings also on the Nordlicht catamaran. The prices are okay. The staff who serve the guests at the table in the Captain Class are responsive to the passenger, are not too intrusive (on the other hand, but quick once you have ordered) and also talk about Helgoland and the crossing. Anyway, everyone on the catamaran was very friendly, the announcements over the onboard microphone came three times, but they were also interesting.

I can only recommend eating on the ship and not in any restaurant on Heligoland that only caters to mass tourism, which they deal with quickly and unfriendly. I had a great, delicious currywurst with fries and the other dishes looked great too. The service was friendly and attentive.

Einfach phantastisch! Die „Beatrice“ der MS Helgoland und ihr Team sind sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Überhaupt trifft das auf die gesamte Crew zu. Wir haben uns sehr gut aufgehoben und wohl gefühlt! Vielen Dank für die 2 tollen Fahrten, sehr gerne wieder!

Um nach Helgoland zu kommen, gibt es verschiedene Wege. Für uns der schönste ist die MS Helgoland. Wir sind jetzt das 3. Mal mitgefahren und es war wieder super schön. Wir buchen immer die kulinarischen Tagesfahrten. Hierzu gehört ein Frühstück mit Heißgetränk und auf der Rückfahrt ein Abendessen. Der angenehme Nebeneffekt ist, dass man hier auch einen reservierten Platz im Bord-Restaurant hat. Der Service an Bord ist top. Wir haben die Überfahrt wieder sehr genossen.

Der Service ist top. Haben für das Restaurant Knieper reserviert und dies auch bestätigt bekommen. Leider sind wir in dem Großraum Restaurant/ Kantine gelandet. Nicht vergleichbar zum gebuchten. Schade, hoffe dass das kein Dauerzustand wird. Hab mich nicht wohl gefühlt zahle gleichen Preis in schlechterer Atmosphäre nur weil Gruppen dort platziert wurden.

We stopped in the restaurant for a short break and had a delicious hot soup which was just what we needed after the long walk on the island and was so well located on the way from Lange Anna to the elevator to the city.

Enjoy your meal! Unfortunately only one employee does both service and kitchen. This results in slightly longer waiting times.

After 45 minutes, when we asked when the food would arrive, the waiter asked if I was serious about asking, and then it arrived today. After 1 hour and 10 minutes, it finally arrived. The staff were unfriendly, the food was simple and nothing special.
