Very bad rude service! Highly overpriced. Bowl for over €20. Never again!

I don't think I had sushi worse than here. It took forever to get done and it was a sloppy poor attempt of a former kebab house to make sushi. We kind of realised it wouldn't be good just from the look of the place and the dishes on the menu but we were in a rush and the place was not that full. It's a good location and it made me sad that it's occupied by this place.

Looks pretty stylish from the outside. Unfortunately the waiter couldn't take the order Remember. There were no two drinks to choose from. The food and drink menu was very limited. We also only got one ticket for two people. Not very suitable for the high price

Very unsympathetic manager, we had to wait a long time for the menu and outside the tables were so sticky, overfilled ashtrays that smelled so bad. We called the waiter's attention and asked him to wipe the table and remove the ashtrays, he said to us please don't stress us out now Everyone is exhausted, well what else can you say about that? They are probably underpaid, I have no idea how bad the service is, the unfriendly staff and the manager have also been very unfriendly, never again!!!!!!

The sushi is highly recommended, very crispy and fresh. The waitresses are friendly and accommodating

Make mix for old chicken and fresh

Been here for the first time. Staff okay, but the food absolutely not recommended. I had a bowl that I couldn't eat. It didn't taste good and I couldn't finish it. The chicken just tasted old. I was asked whether it was tasty with an almost full plate. But after I said that it didn't taste good, that was the end of it. Overpriced - if the quality is good and it tastes okay, but I wouldn't go here again.

No recommendation! I saw Monchis on Neotaste and thought I'd give it a try. I was there at 12:10 and the brunette waitress didn't pay attention to me, serve me or give me a menu for 10 minutes. I then left because I don't understand paying for such a "service". Such a “service” is an absolute no-go. This behavior is just unprofessional and unfriendly. I can only advise against eating here.

It doesn't work at all. Wanted to have a quick cocktail with my work colleagues. Weather, 27 degrees. Since we were out and about in Frankfurt all day, we were mostly loosely dressed outside. We didn't get in. One of the employees at the entrance asks the other, "Do we want to let those in with shorts come in?" As if we weren't present. Absolutely demeaning tone. Ridiculous. As if it were a high society club. I'm now in my mid-40s and used to go to numerous clubs and bars all over Germany, but SOMETHING. YOU are a fish shop and not a Club Apolo in Barcelona. Oh well. But do it...

We ate super delicious bowls. For lunch there is a separate menu with cheaper prices. The restaurant is spread over several floors and in front of the restaurant there is an outdoor area facing Fressgasse. The service was top.

Waiter number 7 on July 13, 2024 was very rude. He said he was very exhausted and we should sit outside on the right so he didn't have to serve us. Otherwise very nice atmosphere, good food and great drinks. Would come again, but on the right side ;)

Really great food and more than attentive service. We enjoyed the salad, starters and entrées on a very hot day.

Not tasty, service not competent :/

We wanted to spend a relaxing evening in this supposedly “hyped” location with my sister. Backfired... Very inattentive staff. We were neither warmly welcomed nor asked during our stay whether everything was OK. The food was catastrophic, simply inedible. The best is saved for last, when we paid we noticed that the amount was far too high, so we looked at the receipt again. A shisha was included in the bill, which we never ordered/smoked. We brought this up immediately and were cheekily asked: “Didn’t you smoke shisha?” Well, in the end the price for the shisha (€25) was deducted from the bill. But in retrospect we realized that we still paid too much •-•… No recommendation from us.

Unfortunately the service was very bad, we had to wait an extremely long time to even order… In addition, price-performance is very poor. There is little choice & everything is overpriced. The food only came after 45 minutes, with the starter… Normally you serve the starter beforehand to satisfy your hunger... After a long wait, we received our food. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the price either. Not recommended… For such a price I expect better service & delicious food!

I've known Monchis for a few years and you can't go wrong. It's actually the best bar on the whole street at the moment and the classiest.

Food was okay... we asked 3 times if we could turn on the heater outside because it was cold... but after 1.5 hours it still wasn't done... food is also overpriced 😅

Yesterday on the beautiful day June 8th, 2024 we were in Frankfurt. Went for something to eat, sushi and bowl why not. The sushi was okay, but the chicken bowl, the ingredients looked like they had been sitting in the kitchen unrefrigerated for a week. Lettuce was dried brown, radishes were stuck together in a slimy, indefinable layer. Disgusting !!! No apology from the waiter, the second attempt was better. A friendly, good accordion player received a tip! MONCHIS - Sushi - Bar better keep walking if you don't want to swallow Imodium!!!!!!! If you want to eat well in the corner, there is a cake shop; Cinnamood ; Left. Over 50 people went in there in 30 minutes, then I was super delicious!!!!

NEVER AGAIN!!! We drove to Frankfurt specifically to eat here. Service bad, staff very unfriendly. Food from my husband arrived, I had to wait 1 hour for my food. No cutlery? Should I eat with my hands? After I asked for cutlery, I had to wait another 10 minutes 😂 bad and so expensive. that was the first and last time!!!!! Oh yeah, and not at all like your pictures on insta. Totally dirty

We were visiting for the first time, PEOPLE I can only recommend it, the atmosphere is perfect. Everything is hygienic and clean, you just feel good :) Big thanks to Whanchid 🌷 He served us so well & gave us a warm welcome :) Come here laaadys @Gentelmaaans 🥰

Nice food, but they can't help but bring you ashtrays and ask for money for a toilet! Not to mention how confused the waiters are!

I mainly just went for a drink (piña colada), but stayed because of the friendly service. The team is mostly friendly and I was greeted and served in an extremely friendly manner by a blonde bartender named Nicolle. Would recommend MONCHIS again.

Unfortunately, for the second time now, we had a bad experience. The waitress was so rude, passive aggressive and rude to us. Please train your staff. It was a young girl with long brown hair. Impossible.

When it rained, the employee Ali immediately changed our shisha and our seat, brought umbrellas... great service, nice employees and thanks to the rest of the team

DISRESPECT to the older gentleman who stood at the entrance and rudely asked us if we were there for the first time. Asked directly if we would like to eat, drink, shisha, just the lowest level. We just wanted to sit comfortably and have a drink... best of all, you won't be allowed in anyway. Professionalism 0. I will definitely advise those around me not to go there.

We had the bowls because of the 2 for 1 Neo offer, but they didn't taste good. Far too small and hardly anything inside. It also cost €21, don't go. Not justified even with the offer.

Today I’ve been here with my gf and all the girls who work here were not even looking at us. They forgot our oder and we had to wait literally 40 MINUTES!! For two Limonades!! They were chatting with each other and when I asked them:”WHERE ARE OUR DRINKS” they rolled their eyes and went outside without any answer. We left immediately after this clown-show. The most disgusting service and place ever.

I got something to eat there at night on the weekend. The waiters were definitely understaffed, it was very hectic, someone came to take the order and once to serve, and then never again. Nobody asked me if everything was okay, it really wasn't good. Cocktails were poorly prepared and the food was sometimes very bad, sometimes good. There was no response to criticism and it was also my last time.

There is shisha, food and drinks here. For me as a lover of sushi and shisha, a very clear recommendation. It's always full anyway and perfectly located in the middle of Freßgass - you can't miss it! DJ friends of mine have also often performed here in the evenings, so things can really get going here in the evenings! There is plenty of seating inside as well as outside, so we never had a problem getting a seat even without a reservation.

We wanted to sit outside, but we couldn't because there were dishes from the customers on all the tables. We waited 20 minutes for the menu to order. We asked the waitress about it and she promised to bring it straight away. After 45 minutes we left because we still didn't get the menu. Outside I saw that the dirty tables still hadn't been cleared away. I go out to eat often, but I've never experienced anything like this!

We were at Monchis on May 10th. After we had already been sitting at our seat for 10 minutes, we independently asked for the menu. Unfortunately, even after another 15 minutes there wasn't even a menu. There was also a chic aunt behind us who asked for a straw and got it immediately after 1 minute. I have never experienced anything like it. We got up and left.😡

The service was appalling. I wouldn't go there again. When we arrived we were brought a plate of soy sauce and chopsticks and we discovered that there were dead flies floating in the sauce. We complained and they brought us a different sauce. My brother asked for a fork and ended up having to eat the sushi by hand because the waiter didn't bring him the fork he asked for when the food was brought to him. It's worth noting that the food wasn't all that tasty for being so expensive. We ended up paying 85 euros for 3 people. The atmosphere was nice and that was what attracted us, but we should have left as soon as they brought us the soy sauce. I don't recommend it.

The ambience is not nice, too dark. More of a bar than a restaurant. The food is mediocre.

We didn't know that it was more of a shisha bar. Cocktails and sushi are also available. But the cocktail was very tasty. The service's attention to the guest is so semi. But this is probably also due to the already well-visited location on the Fressgass, where there is little individuality. It was good that there were soft pillows, blankets and heaters outside. Ambiance is nice to look at. Prices correspond to Frankfurt city center.

We asked for an ashtray three times, but only got it in 20 minutes. then we wanted to go there twice, but they didn't let us in, and the reason was because we didn't say hello. and price wasn't written correctly in menu. never go there again.

I had to tell the waitress to wipe our table twice. (We sat down and it was sticky and dirty) We were served full ashtrays at the table. And the cherry on top is…. I just say 3xtequila for €28.50 😂 after I asked the condition she said that everyone says that but what should she do…….. (and see for herself how salt is served with tequila — see picture) Well, the tequila’s are in the display case at my house

- Very small menu with highly inflated prices with mediocre quality and quantity. o With one exception, the staff was very attentive and friendly. - The ambience is of course a matter of taste. It's definitely too dark for me. - All in all, I'm not inspired to come back.

Such a juice shop, we waited 50 minutes just for the starter, had to ask for our drinks and the cards ourselves and were only served briefly by the waiters. Drinks are outrageously expensive, and the food is just warmed up. If you want to throw money into the toilet, you've come to the right place!

Extremely long waiting times. After a friendly call to the restaurant, the boss accused us of lying and being unfriendly. Food was ok, but there was a paper serving mixed in with our salad (see photo). Service was subpar and some of the staff ignored us. Unfortunately, all in all very disappointing.

I came here a few days ago the food and atmosphere was good but the service was absolutely terrible. The waitress with the glasses was very rude towards me and my mom. She couldn’t even smile or greet us nicely and didn’t even say goodbye. Was very cold and rude towards us. As long as you have people like her you’re not gonna have many customers since i’ve seen many people complain about her. What a shame you should teach your waitress and waiters to treat people with respect since we’re the reason they’re even getting a salary.

The food is good. I tried the sushi several times and it tasted good every time. The place is atmospheric, pleasant decor. There is a shisha smoking room on the ground floor. The service is very good and fast. In my opinion, party places, ideal for meeting friends or having a drink.

I went here with Neo Taste and tried the katsu chicken bowl, which was very fresh, big, and tasty. The seating is very nice and cozy and service is friendly. I recommend!

Sushi was good. The fried sushi was really tasty. But it tastes like fish fingers. But it took 30 minutes until we were asked what we wanted to eat and another 30 minutes until we got it. It was all really rushed because they were understaffed. In addition, the price-performance ratio is not that good. Way too expensive. A pity.

Monchos location is superb. The food was okay. Ordered a beef bowl and the meal came with a soup. Great ambience. Especially in summer, one can sit on the terrace outside and enjoy the nice weather.

It is very nicely and modernly furnished, and a large selection of different dishes entices you to come here again and again. Despite the excellent quality, I find the prices for some dishes to be too high. Still worth a visit occasionally.

I was with my mom and a friend and it was our last night in Frankfurt. It was perfect, we had some good sushi, one of the best cocktails and some sisha. Never knew it would the perfect combination! The people were so relaxed and so nice, the atmosphere was really good and I really enjoyed the music. Im a 90s RnB type woman, so I really enjoyed it. Thank you for this fun night out 💛. (Even my mom enjoyed it, she normally doesnt like shisha places).

Ich bin schockiert, man will auf WC gehen und muss sich dann von der WC Damen anmachen lassen, weil man ihr kein Trinkgeld gibt. Sie hat mich gezwungen Ihr Geld da zulassen? Ich zahle schon so viel für meine Getränke, ich will in Ruhe auf WC gehen und mich nicht zwingen lassen jmd Fremdes der absolut unhöflich ist Geld zu geben? Ich arbeite hart für mein Geld!

Best Sushi in town. However, service was too slow. It took 20 min to order and another 25 to be served. The wait for the bill is another chapter. At the end the waiter who ignored us all the while had the audacity to ask if we wanted to include tips in the bill. Really?🤦🏻

Ich war einmal um 23:00 da， wollte alleine Shisha rauchen, der netter Herr da hat mir Shisha empfohlen, ( ich habe leider den Name nicht gefragt, aber er war mit Bart ), zwei Tagen später war ich ungefähr um 19:00 da weil ich am dem Abend meinen Hut da vergessen hatte, der Mitarbeiter heißt Cici hat mir geholfen meinen schönen Hut wieder zu finden, wollte nur sagen die Personal da sind eigentlich gar nicht so schlecht. Die Atmosphäre ist genau richtig für einen entspannter Abend nach der Arbeit.

Mit Neotaste, wer diese App kennt ist es preislich akzeptabel, ohne die App, stimmt hier leider nicht ganz das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. Wir haben für 2 Bowls und ein Getränk 26,50 Eur bezahlt, das ist ok. Ohne die App wären es aber 48,50 Euro gewesen, das wäre dann zu teuer, da die Bowls recht klein sind. Ist dann eher was für den kleinen Hunger. Ohne Rabatt würde ich nicht das essen gehen.

Came here for shisha and they have amazing shisha. The flavour was strong and last all night. Worth the money. Had the best shisha and tea on the side at night.

Ich hatte kürzlich das Vergnügen, das "Monchi" Restaurant zu besuchen und ich muss sagen, meine Erfahrung war äußerst enttäuschend. Obwohl das Essen zweifellos hervorragend war, konnte ich nicht über den erschreckend schlechten Service hinwegsehen. Die Wartezeit auf den Kellner und das Bestellen des Essens betrug ca. 20min. Als mein Essen schließlich ankam, war die Qualität der Sushi-Rollen beeindruckend. Frische Zutaten und geschmackliche Raffinesse waren erkennbar – ein Lichtblick in dieser frustrierenden Erfahrung. Leider konnte das großartige Essen den schlechten Eindruck, den der Service hinterlassen hatte, nicht kompensieren. Die Kellner waren in ihrer Unhöflichkeit und Ignoranz konsequent. Kein Lächeln, keine Entschuldigung für die lange Wartezeit – es schien, als ob der Kundenservice für sie eine völlig nebensächliche Angelegenheit sei. Insgesamt war mein Besuch im von Ambivalenz geprägt. Während die Küche zweifellos talentiert ist und köstliche Sushi-Kreationen zaubert, wird das Gesamterlebnis durch den mangelhaften Service erheblich beeinträchtigt. Es ist bedauerlich, dass ein Restaurant mit solch großem kulinarischem Potenzial den menschlichen Faktor so vernachlässigt. Ich hoffe aufrichtig, dass das Management seine Prioritäten überdenkt und sicherstellt, dass zukünftige Gäste nicht nur mit dem Essen, sondern auch mit dem Service zufrieden sein können.

Getränke waren lecker aber das war auch schon alles. Zuerst mussten wir ca 25 Minuten warten bis wir überhaupt einen Platz hatten, was noch vollkommen ok war. Haben Cocktails und Shisha bestellt, Getränke waren schon leer nach ca einer halben Stunde und von der Shisha keine Spur. Auf Nachfrage hieß es, man habe es ausversehen an einen falschen Tisch geliefert. Auf die Rechnung mussten wir auch ca 45 Minuten warten. Wir haben da insgesamt 2,5 Stunden verbracht und davon waren ca 2h nur warten. Das Personal ist sehr bemüht aber maßlos überfordert und unterbesetzt. Würden nicht mehr wieder kommen

Der Service ist zwar gut bemüht, aber für die Lage, die direkt am Beginn der Fressgass 1A ist, würde ich etwas mehr erwarten. Es sind viele Leute zum Bedienen da, aber es wirkt ziemlich durcheinander, dauert oft sehr lange und irgendein Fauxpas passiert meistens. Sei es, dass Getränke vertauscht werden, oder die Suppe gemeinsam mit Hauptspeise kommt, obwohl sie vorher gewünscht war,... Das Sushi ist auch nicht überragend von der Frische und Qualität. Mein Fazit: Die Lage ganz nett, Service und Essen/ Trinken naja. Daher halte ich 3 *** für angemessen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker aber die Preise waren etwas erhöht. Die Mitarbeiter waren nett aber der Service war echt furchtbar weil die so extrem überfordert waren. Ich musste um etwas zu bekommen immer 3-4 mal nachfragen. Das war am Ende einfach nur noch nervig. Für diesen Preis erwarte ich viel viel mehr.

Richtig tolles Essen, super Service und ausgezeichnete Shisha. Nur extrem negativ frech war die Reinigungsdame bei den Toiletten, aber da stehe ich lachend drüber. Wir haben hochwertiges und exzellentes Sushi, kleine Köstlichkeiten sowie eine Suppen Bowl genossen. Alles war lecker und der Service ausgezeichnet. Anschließend wechselten wir in die Shisha Lounge. Diese war richtig gut gemacht und wir hatten lange Freude daran. 25 €/Shisha happig, aber "Fressgass", super gemacht & toller Service rechtfertigten das in dem Ambiente. Wir gaben zu Zweit rund 150 € an dem Abend aus. Der abwertende Kommentar beim Trinkgeldwunsch von der "Toiletten-Reinigungs-Dame ist ein no go. Wenn ich mit meiner Frau über 150 € für Abendessen, Shisha & Cocktails ausgebe zahle ich nicht für den Toilettengang. Hier vielleicht nachbessern zumal das WC mit der "Reinigungskraft vor Ort" sauberer hätte sein können. Passt nicht wirklich in das hochwertige & tolle Konzept: Reinigungskraft die frech Geld will & schmuddeliges WC 😉

Eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, in der es nicht um laute Musik oder Schisha geht. Alles ist nebensache, man kann sich in aller Ruhe unterhalten und die Fußgängerzone der Stadt genießen. Bedienung ist zuvorkommend. Keine Mängel zu beklagen :)

Good place for drinks in a summer afternoon

Was Sushi angeht Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis ist sehr schlecht. Hat vielleicht mit der teuren Lokation zu tun, lohnt sich aber nicht. Lachs Cream Cheese Roll sieht anders als auf dem Foto in der Karte. Die Sushis sehen irgendwie unsorgfältig aus. Weizenbier war warm. Service ist chaotisch. Bestuhlung außen, die nicht unter Sonnenzelten steht, war dreckig und wurde trotzdem zuerst angeboten.

Super netter Service, mit der Musik und Lautstärke etwas übertrieben, aber auf Bitten reduziert. Super lecker für mal zwischendurch.

Was soll man sagen es liegt sehr zentral das Personal ist sehr freundlich und auch schnell die Auswahl an Getränken und shisha war sehr groß und lecker gemütliche Atmosphäre komme gerne wieder

Nur Stammgäste scheinen erwünscht zu sein. Meine Freundin und ich standen an um einen Tisch zu erhalten. Obwohl ein paar 4er Tische frei waren, wollte der „Manager“ die nicht mit 2 Personen besetzen und wollte uns daher mit den 2 Herren vor uns zusammensetzen. Dies lehnten wir ab also mussten wir weiter warten. Zwischenzeitlich kamen 2x jeweils 2 Stammgäste an der Warteschlange vorbei, die die Plätze sofort erhielten, was wir als absolut respektlos und frech ansehen. Nach 20 Minuten warten erhielten wir dann auch mal einen Tisch, leider ohne Überdachung und da es zu regnen begann, gingen wir direkt. Ansonsten Getränke sind gut und das Essen auch, sowie das Ambiente. Leider muss man nur immer sehr sehr lange auf seine Sachen warten.

Ich kann die teils schlechten Bewertung nicht ganz verstehen. War gestern mit zwei Freundin dort. Wir haben eine shisha drei Cocktails und jeweils Sushi bestellt. Cocktails waren super, Sushi war Mega! Die shisha war in Ordnung. wir wurden von drei verschiedenen Kellner/innen an diesem Abend bedient und alle waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Obwohl es unter der Woche war, war doch einiges los. Wie es am Wochenende aussieht, kann ich nicht beurteilen, aber wir waren rund um zufrieden und würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Oberflächlich. Schade, hab mehr erwartet.
