The broth and noodles are excellent, but in my opinion, too expensive! €18.50 + €3 for the egg. The price-performance ratio isn't right. My bowl contained little more than the basic components: noodles, broth, and a very small amount of meat. I missed the variety. I would have liked more toppings.

I used to go to the previous locations, not this one. The premises were in much better condition there, but the service was nonexistent. The staff was rude, and the quality and standard of the food were far from acceptable. Unfortunately, it was the worst ramen I've ever had. I'd like to ask the owner why he changes locations so frequently. I hope I can get an answer here, because I'm genuinely curious – especially since the current location is by far the worst.

Anyone who's ever been to Japan and craves that unmistakable umami flavor will be in heaven here. And anyone who's never experienced it will find the perfect opportunity. Everything is homemade, absolutely everything: from the pickled vegetables (tsukemono) and the rich broths to the delicate wontons. Even the ramen noodles are made fresh on-site. I had mazesoba with Japanese buttered rice—simply delicious! Whenever I get a hankering for Japan, I come here. It's like a mini culinary trip to Tokyo every time. I highly recommend this place and sincerely hope it continues after the pop-up. An absolute must for all ramen lovers!

The ramen itself was tasty, but it was missing that certain something. You have to order the egg separately; otherwise, it's just noodles, three slices of meat, one and a half spinach leaves, and spring onions. And please invest in better chopsticks; the cheap wooden ones are really uncomfortable.

Excellent ramen where every component is perfect: broth, noodles, delicious toppings – spot on! They have a small menu, but they know what they're doing. I'm personally disappointed they only offer deep-fried gyozas. It's loud and crowded, so it's not the most relaxed or sociable atmosphere. But I'll definitely be back for the ramen!

We had a reservation for Sunday. It was confirmed, including a reminder email two days prior. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed. This is somewhat unprofessional and questionable, especially considering that reservations are even possible for a day when the restaurant is apparently closed. Furthermore, neither Google nor Instagram indicates that it's closed on Sundays. I would advise you to update this information as soon as possible to avoid upsetting other customers, especially those traveling from afar.

★★☆☆ – Unfortunately Disappointing Monaco Ramen unfortunately leaves a poor impression. The location advertised on the website bears little resemblance to the reality on site. Instead of the expected atmosphere, you find yourself in a musty basement or a dark back room. This is uninviting and stands in stark contrast to the external presentation. The food is also underwhelming. The tonkotsu ramen was sparsely topped. In Berlin, you can get significantly more generous and well-balanced bowls for around €12. The price-performance ratio simply doesn't match. In short: disappointing atmosphere, poor value for money.

This is by far the best ramen shop in Munich. The owner is particular about making both the noodles and the soup from scratch, and the shoyu ramen in particular has a very high-quality broth. My vegetarian friend also said that the vegan ramen is the best he's ever eaten.

The ramen is truly delicious and authentic. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a wait (almost an hour, despite having a reservation). This was probably due to it being Saturday evening and the restaurant being packed. But what absolutely must be mentioned: the broth is perfectly balanced. Umami at its finest! 😍 The atmosphere in the restaurant was okay; it is quite cramped at Monaco Ramen. But that's also typical of Japanese izikayas, and it's not meant as a criticism. There was no music playing, and the noise level in the restaurant was quite high. A little subtle background music would have been nice… All in all, a delicious experience and a definite recommendation. Monaco Ramen is a great meal!

I ate here two months ago. The ramen was very good. Unfortunately, the owner seems overwhelmed, stressed, and overworked. I hope he finds suitable staff with experience in the restaurant industry. I witnessed customers having to wait outside in the cold, even though there were free tables inside. The waiting guests were repeatedly told to wait outside. The restaurant lacked clear procedures and a sensible division of tasks.

Underwhelming and expensive. I liked the ramen noodles, which had a good bite and the broth/meat okay, but nothing special. For what you pay I expected better and a better portion…it was 19.00€ for a small portion (I was still hungry after) and then you have to pay extra an 2.50£€ for the traditional ramen egg which was just plopped in and not even cut. So a meal with a small soft drink drink ended up being 25€ and I went and bought a sandwich after… Also they do not accept cash which is highly irregular for a restaurant especially in Germany…it was a first for me. Servers were running around, after the food was dropped off no one even checked if I needed anything else or if I was enjoying my meal. I would not go back.

This restaurant used to be great!! Now, after several location changes, the menu has been cut in half. It consists of a single printed sheet of A4 paper, you get a 0.2L Coke for €4 even though the menu says 0.33L, my food was completely oversalted, and the prices have gone up. On top of that, they've removed the egg (despite the price increase), so you now have to buy it separately.

Solid frame and really tasty noodles, but there were a few things I didn't like so much. I found the portion size too small for the price. The frame was served separately and was quite cold. Normally, it's sliced and mixed into the broth. The broth wasn't hot enough for me. The gyosa was tasty, extremely crispy, and very hot. I wish the gyosa hadn't been fried on all sides.

I thought long and hard about whether to write this, but I decided to go ahead. A place like this shouldn't even exist or be allowed to operate. That was the worst service and the worst ramen of my life. I don't know who served us—probably the owner—but they were incredibly aggressive and short-tempered. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the negative reviews. We were looking forward to a nice evening. The drinks arrived after a few minutes, but everything else took a very long time. The gyoza appetizer arrived after 50 minutes, and the two ramen dishes after more than an hour's wait. Unbelievable! Everyone there seems overwhelmed, from the waitress to the chef. The ambiance isn't the best, and the ventilation isn't good, which is why the door, at least in the adjoining room, is constantly open. I won't be coming back and can't recommend it.

We relied on the Google Maps reviews, which claimed this was "the best ramen in Munich." Unfortunately, we can't confirm that at all. The ramen tasted significantly worse than, for example, Takumi's. The biggest problem, however, was the wait: We waited almost two hours for our food. Initially, we were promised 40 minutes. Furthermore, about half the menu wasn't available, and in the end, we weren't even served the eggs we ordered separately. Even the lychee spritzer was disappointing. On top of that, the bar stool was broken. Overall, this was the worst dinner experience I've had in Munich in about ten years.

WEITERE KOMMENTARE IN Google

An extremely disappointing evening. We were really looking forward to our visit to Monaco Ramen, but were let down completely. Despite having a reservation for 8:00 PM and the restaurant opening at 6:00 PM, most of the menu was sold out. We first had to wait outside in the cold and were then served a weak, unpleasant rice tea (which I've definitely had better) in a paper cup – anything but a friendly welcome. Drinks were served carelessly: Instead of still water, we were given tap water divided between four glasses instead of a carafe, Coke came straight from the bottle, and the Spezi (a German soft drink) was served without a glass. It all seemed very unprofessional. The appetizers were also disappointing – tiny portions, hardly any flavor, and the edamame were completely oversalted. Plus, they used cheap, wooden chopsticks (they weren't like that before). The absolute low point: a two-hour wait for the ramen. Ordering food at 10:00 PM is simply unacceptable when you have a reservation for 8:00 PM. Then, to top it off, the ramen eggs we ordered were missing. Only after complaining was a 50% discount offered – but that couldn't salvage the evening. The ramen itself was mediocre, consisting almost entirely of noodles, mushrooms, and spring onions. Many ingredients were completely missing. I've eaten this dish at the Gasteig several times before – it used to be significantly better. The quality and taste have declined drastically. The atmosphere was also poor: no music, no ambiance, and many annoyed guests who also had to wait an eternity. Furthermore, we were seated by the window, and it was drafty and cold. Overall, everything felt chaotic, impersonal, and disorganized. A very frustrating evening and, unfortunately, absolutely not recommended. I had guests over and was utterly mortified.

Wow! It was a great experience; we will come back for sure! It was after a long day of conference meetings that we had the idea to go out and eat. I'm particularly picky and had friends from here suggest visiting the place. They told me that it's usually booked out, but nevertheless, we tried our luck. The restaurant was full, but the blonde waitress was super friendly and within 5 min found us a spot to sit. The atmosphere was great, and we had a comfortable seat at the bar. I kind of like this japanese-style bar sitting concept. We had 2 starter Gyoza and Edamame. The portion was great for the price, and the gyoza filling was tasty. I tried the Shoyu and absolutely loved it! I've been to several Ramen places around Europe and it was by far the best quality i had. The content was well balanced with the handmade noodle, broth, chashu and Ramen egg. Yuzu spritz was great as well! I'm used to the service where guests go in and out and there isnt much interaction with the service people. So thank for the waitress for chatting with us it made the visit more pleasurable!

In principle, a good restaurant for ramen/Japanese food. The decor is stylish and harmonious overall. There's little to criticize about the food itself, however, there were a few things we didn't like. Firstly, some dishes on the menu weren't available (Friday evening), and secondly, something was missing that we consider a given. For example, there was no Japanese beer. I don't expect a specific one, let alone a large selection, but the complete lack of any option was a bit disappointing.

Unfortunately, a truly disappointing experience! We were so looking forward to a great evening after our previous delicious experience at Munch Market! Instead, the new location offered a truly uninviting and shabby atmosphere with bad air quality, including the cheapest chopsticks I've ever seen. The service was also completely overwhelmed today and, unfortunately, repeatedly took the wrong items, brought them, and ultimately charged us incorrectly… Regarding the food: The ramen itself was tasty, with good chashu and perfectly al dente ramen noodles. Unfortunately, everything went wrong today, and the head chef was sick, meaning half the menu was unavailable, including our favorite dishes like soupless ramen and tantanmen. Sadly, the service only made the whole experience worse instead of offering a smile and an apology to smooth things over. So, Munich remains a city without the opportunity to eat great ramen.

I'm sorry to say that the price/performance ratio is simply no longer acceptable. The atmosphere in the new restaurant is just uninviting and uncomfortable – bare walls, harsh lighting, tables and chairs like you'd find at a motorway service station – it's more like a warehouse than a restaurant where I'm about to pay €20 for a meal. On top of that, it was cold in the adjoining room and there was a strong smell of grease in the air. We left the restaurant and had to wash our clothes and take a shower. It's a shame. Food: great and authentic, focused on just a few dishes (quality over quantity) Service: very friendly and good recommendations Reservation in advance definitely recommended We were a group of 6 people and there seems to be only one table suited for that size. Also in general the store seems to be booked out a lot, so if you know in advance, that you want to go there especially in a group, follow the online reservation system. In my case, I actually called via phone and got help with the reservation that way. However, spontaneous walk-ins for one or two people might work out as well, depending on the evening. Most of us (including me) had the Tonkotsu Ramen and our friend from Fukuoka, where this style of Ramen is the most common one, also approved it to be very authentic. The other options (Shoyu, Saba Shoyu(with fish) and the Cashew based vegan version) also were very convincing. The drink menu is also quite extensive, including choices of Sake, Shoju or classical non-alkoholic options like Calpis. Seating felt quite cozy at our table, the counter around the neat bar also looked nice. The service (including the chef) was very friendly and helpful, just keep in mind that directly at the opening time (18:00) there will a lot of guests and just 3 people working there/ taking orders, so they might be a little busy. The Chef speaks German and English and one waitress can also help out with Japanese if necessary. Thanks again for the nice evening, the good food and the help with the reservation, I am sure to come back whenever I want to invite someone for authentic Ramen in München

I've never experienced such a terrible ramen restaurant. My "no" was skillfully ignored by the waiters, the ramen was truly subpar, and it was very expensive. I was pressured to drink alcohol, even though I didn't want to. I told him I was a ramen fanatic because I eat it often, but I had to listen to him explain what ramen actually is for ten minutes. I couldn't stop him. Unfortunately, no one listened to me; the waiter was walking around the restaurant like a hot knife through butter. He disappeared almost immediately, right in the middle of my explanation of my allergies. All I got was a snide remark about why I had allergies. And when we offered constructive criticism after being asked if we were enjoying our meal, we got comments like, "Yeah, you didn't get what you wanted, but your food was the more expensive part." That doesn't change the fact that I cried for half an hour afterward. And then, after surgery, you're pressured to drink "just a little" alcohol.

WEITERE KOMMENTARE IN Google

We attended the pop-up event on July 18th and were sadly disappointed. Generally, we noticed that there was interest in creating a beautiful and delicious event, but unfortunately, there were two issues that significantly dampened the experience: 1. Overwhelmed service: The waiters seemed competent, but there were far too few of them. Accordingly, the wait times were extremely long, and things were forgotten. Although several tables were free and, as it turned out, not reserved, we had to wait about 45 minutes before we could be seated because the waitress simply didn't have time to attend to us. No offense to the waitress, it's just a bit negligent to schedule so few people for such an event. Unfortunately, our dessert was also forgotten and only brought very late upon request. Furthermore, an extra topping was forgotten for one portion of ramen. 2. Rip-off special menus: The special menus for the event were already incredibly expensive at almost €50. We therefore decided that one of us would have a set menu, and the others would have "regular" ramen. We had chosen the vegetarian option for the set menu and were expecting the special vegetarian ramen. Unfortunately, when the food arrived, it turned out that the vegetarian version was simply the regular vegetarian ramen. I have no idea if that was intentional or if there was a mistake in the preparation. According to the menu, these vegetarian ramen cost around €17, meaning the rest of the menu cost €30. €30 for a mini glass of sake, two toasts, and a small portion of ice cream. In retrospect, we felt completely ripped off. Either there was a mistake in the preparation, or it's even worse, and the menu was a rip-off and didn't correctly/fairly label what vegetarian options you were getting. The ramen was delicious, but not recommended for the price or under the circumstances. We were very excited, but overall it was a disappointing experience. What a shame! The food was delicious and the service friendly, but the menu was inaccurate, the set menu was far too expensive, and the waiting times were too long due to the understaffed wait staff.

Well I think the shop is super delicious and I will come again of course the service can't be perfect because there are so many people there and that's just normal but I have a question how to get a seat on a Saturday right at the opening

The broth is strong, but a bit too salty. The ramen and appetizers are excellent overall! Due to staffing shortages, it sometimes takes a little longer.

It's a coffee shop during the day and a ramen shop from 6pm. You can eat delicious pork bone ramen made with research into Japanese ramen!

WEITERE KOMMENTARE IN Google

I've been there often. I've been to Japan many times and to other ramen restaurants in Germany. The menu has changed a few times. The location too. Overall: The appetizers were tasty, but sometimes overpriced. Both wontons were very good. The pickles were okay, but expensive for the quantity. All of the ramen was very good. Vegan options were also available and very good. The soups were good, very flavorful. The toppings were very good, and there was a good selection. Dessert was okay. The drink selection was also okay, but could be more classic Japanese, but it doesn't have to be. Now come the negatives: Service is terrible. In both the old and new locations. Unfortunately, this hasn't improved. Whether with or without a reservation, it's difficult in both cases. We sometimes had to wait 20 minutes with a reservation, even though tables were free and not reserved. The waiters and the owner seemed overwhelmed and often unfriendly or annoyed. Overall, it could be more child-friendly. Wheelchair accessible (both locations). I will continue to go there and observe, and if necessary, adjust the post if something has changed (location, menu, service, ambience)

So, if you want to pay €60 for: The wrong food delivered, a 50-minute wait for drinks, and still not having all the dishes after three hours. Then you've come to the right place. In short: Absolute horror. We had to drink from the tap out of thirst because we weren't served. I've never experienced anything like that before.

A delightful place I found by chance while browsing Maps. The atmosphere is intimate, with warm, welcoming lighting. You'll only find a table if you've made a reservation, otherwise you risk a long wait for a table. The service from the open kitchen was a bit slow, but the owner is very kind and helpful. They have a CORNER BAR, with cocktail suggestions based on your order. My choice from the menu was ramen with chicken and pork broth, perhaps a little too fatty for an Italian palate, but quite good. Children-friendly, but NO play area. It's recommended to bring children if they're older and can sit at a table. My son found many options he enjoyed.

The food wasn't that bad. I ordered the regular Maze Soba, but the server mixed it up with another customer’s vegetarian soba. If I hadn’t noticed and pointed it out, the other customer would have almost eaten meat by mistake. Luckily, she hadn’t started eating yet. What I didn’t appreciate was how the owner (or manager) handled the payment. The original price of my food was €17.50, but he charged me €20.13 by selecting a 15% tip on the payment-device himself, without asking. My friend, who paid right before me, was given the option to choose the tip amount on the machine—she simply skipped it cuz she claimed to have a stomachache. (Of course, she wanted to keep it private) But when it was my turn, he pressed the 15% button on his own. It felt awkward to call it out on the spot, so I just went along with it. I would have left a tip anyway—but I believe tipping should be the customer’s choice, not something that’s imposed. That part left a bad impression.

Everyone told me this was the best Ramen in Munich so I finally tried it when it moved close to work. Perhaps due to the high expectations I really felt let down. The ramen was good but definitely not amazing. Pros: the noodles were extremely good, firm texture however too salty. Chashu had very gentle flavors and soft, probably one of the nicest chashu I’ve had. Cons: The broth. You can taste the pork bones but it’s not nearly as rich and decadent as I’m used to. Honestly the broth is something even I can replicate at home so was not impressed (I routinely make my own bone broth at home). Ajitsuke tamago: never had such an under marinated egg.

Highly recommended location to get the best ramen in Munich. Real master's of the craft, I have visited this restaurant 5 times in the last year, and won't stop going in the coming one. I have tried other ramen shops in Munich and I truly believe no one comes even close to competition compared to Monaco Ramen. The selection is limited (as it should be), the service is fast but simple, the location is nice but a little noisy as there are lots of tables. Still super worth to go for a visit and taste amazing ramen.

As a ramen lover, I've been searching for this for a long time and finally found it here! So far, it's the only authentic Japanese ramen I've had in Munich. No experiments with sweetcorn or paprika in the soup 🙏🏻 I could eat it every day 😋

There are several ramen shops in the Deutsches Museum area. Among them, MONACO RAMEN is a shop with an overwhelming presence and a strong sense of mania. This shop was founded around 2021, and the owner of this shop is a true Rawota who has eaten all kinds of Japanese ramen and also studied at a Japanese ramen school. This time I ate "SABA SHOYU RAMEN" which cost 23,90€ (3824 yen at 160 yen). The tanrei chicken niboshi soup, which combines chicken stock and thick niboshi soy sauce sauce, is seriously delicious. It's so delicious that even if you eat it in Japan, you'll be amazed. The noodles are voluptuous, smooth and thin flat noodles reminiscent of Kanagawa Tanrei style noodles. It also includes salt-grilled mackerel, mussels, and shrimp wontons, making it a luxurious dish. I can't believe you can eat such high quality ramen in Munich in Germany... I've eaten a lot of ramen in Munich so far, but this ramen was on a different level. Moreover, it's not just an imitation/copy of Japanese ramen, it's a strange, overseas-like thing. It was so much fun and exciting to eat it. Ausgezeichnet! ! There was an American hamburger shop next to this shop, so it felt like USA VS JAPAN. There was a club next door and I could hear the bass crunching sound. I definitely want to go again. Ich möchte hier unbedingt wieder Ramen essen!!!

I'll definitely be back! Despite the crowded restaurant, I was served very quickly and friendly. And the most important thing: the food tastes EXCELLENT (I've had other ramen in Munich and not all of them were as good). A reservation is probably recommended as the restaurant was fully booked even on a normal Wednesday evening. I was lucky to just get a spontaneous spot. The ambience is cool. The seats at the counter are particularly fun. Otherwise it's pretty simple. Drinks are available at a separate bar. Here you can find very cool homemade lemonades and iced teas or even regular ones from the bottle. Only card payment is possible throughout the restaurant. This should be taken into account. Bottom line: a very good recommendation in Munich.

My noodle order was wrong TWICE. First the soup was wrong and then I called the waitress about it but some another waiter came to us and gave us the right soup, and I don’t know what they did back there in the kitchen but this time the noodle was wrong. I really liked the place but last time I went there the service was just horrible.
