MONA JOHN Coup de Coeur in München

Ein wunderbarer Genussabend im Coup de Cœur. Ich genoss ein wirklich wunderbares Sommermenü, gezaubert vom gestrigen 1-Mann-Team in der kleinen Küche dieses kulinarischen Kleinods im Münchner Westend. Frisch, leckerst und mit ein paar supertollen Überraschungen (das Dessert zum Beispiel war ein süß-herzhafter Hammer), dazu toller Service und ein sehr schönes Weinchen. Ein rundum gelungener Genussabend!!!

Wir waren in einer größeren Gruppe da, haben auch guten Umsatz gemacht, jedoch der Service war sehr entäuschend. Eigentlich dachte ich, dass es sowas nicht mehr gibt in einer solchen Preisklasse. Es war schwer bei den Gerichten herauszufinden was es wirklich ist- was eingentlich eine schöne Überraschung sein könnte, wir hatten jedoch ein Kind dabei und wollten lediglich wissen was sie davon essen könnte. Hier kam nur die Aussage wir haben nur das was da steht, war etwas irritierten. Wir konnten z.B. nicht ahnen, dass hinter der Apricose ein Apricosen /Sellerie Püree steht. Auch die Frage nach Brot wurde zwar bejat, jedoch nicht selbstständig gebracht. Erst nach nochmaliger nachfrage wurde dies zum Käse serviert (3 Scheiben bei 7pax). Der Wein war wirklich gut und es gibt eine schöne Auswahl. Auf dem Teller etwas zu viele Geschmäcker der Pulpo etwas verbrannt aber alles gute Qualität. Leider war auch die Köchin nicht vor Ort. Daher ein einmaliges Erlebnis, schade.

Ein exzellentes Restaurant in München mit moderner französischer und internationaler Küche und einzigartigen Geschmackskombinationen. Die kleine, aber feine Speisekarte ist für mich ein Zeichen von Qualität. Alle Gerichte waren wirklich köstlich, die Zutaten meisterhaft kombiniert. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist mehr als fair; rechnen Sie mit durchschnittlich 20 bis 30 Euro für ein Hauptgericht und etwa 10 Euro für Vorspeise und Dessert. Der Service war ebenso beeindruckend, diskret und zuvorkommend. Uns wurde jedes Gericht ausführlich erklärt, inklusive Zutaten, Konzept und vielem mehr. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm und gemütlich, mit einigen Tischen auf der Terrasse. Die Küche ist zum Gastraum hin offen. Die halben Flaschen Wein sind eine nette Geste! Es gibt eine gute Auswahl, sodass man zum Essen einen Aperitif oder ein anderes Getränk genießen kann. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder! ☺️

Unaufdringliche Atmosphäre, köstliches Essen und ein flexibles und hilfsbereites Personal bei der Bestellung. Ich hatte die Gelegenheit, verschiedene Weine zu probieren, da ich mir bei der Auswahl des passenden Weins zu meinem Menü (zwei Hauptgerichte statt einer Vorspeise) unsicher war. Wunderbares, süßes kleines Restaurant mit hervorragendem Essen und besonderem Flair.

Dank Ihrer Küche hatten wir einen schönen Familienabend. Trotzdem möchte ich einige Punkte erwähnen, die Besucher vor ihrem Besuch wissen sollten. Insgesamt gibt es aus meiner Sicht noch deutlichen Verbesserungsbedarf. Der größte Kritikpunkt war die schlechte Belüftung. Der Rauch aus der Küche zog durch den gesamten Gastraum, sodass das Abendessen ständig von Rauchgeruch begleitet wurde. Dadurch konnten wir das Essen leider nicht wirklich genießen. Auch der Service wirkte leider wenig freundlich. Beim Betreten wurden wir nicht einmal begrüßt, und generell hatte man eher das Gefühl zu stören als willkommen zu sein. Das Anrichten der Speisen war zwar sehr gelungen, jedoch litt das Gesamterlebnis unter der Atmosphäre. Zusätzlich waren die Sitzbänke im Biergartenstil für ein längeres Dinner ziemlich unbequem — besonders für ältere Gäste eher ungeeignet. Natürlich mag das Konzept sein: „Fine Dining zu einem günstigeren Preis.“ Dennoch sollte dabei der Komfort der Gäste nicht vernachlässigt werden. Eigentlich hatten wir geplant, beim nächsten Mal auch unsere Eltern mitzubringen, aber dafür erschien uns das Ambiente leider nicht passend. Kurz zusammengefasst: Preis-Leistung für Fine Dining ist durchaus gut. Allerdings findet man in Munich mit nur etwas höherem Budget viele Restaurants mit angenehmerem Ambiente und deutlich freundlicherem Service.

Wirklich leckeres Essen! Frisch und natürlich im Geschmack. Nur die Wartezeit von 40 Minuten war etwas lang.

Klein, aber oho! Hier fühlt man sich sofort nach Paris oder Bordeaux versetzt! Die Einrichtung ist schlicht, aber sehr geschmackvoll. Der Service ist zuvorkommend, herzlich und kompetent. Die Menükarte klein, aber dafür sind die Gerichte perfekt! Auch das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis stimmt! Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen, aber unbedingt Tisch vorher reservieren

Sehr leckere, qualitativ hochwertige Küche, ansprechend und sorgfältig angerichtet. Die offene Küche schafft eine angenehme, lebendige Atmosphäre. Lediglich die Portionsgröße könnte etwas großzügiger sein.

Feines Essen, feine Weine, aufmerksamer Service - was will man mehr?! Danke für einen schönen Abend in entspannter und völlig unaufgeregter Atmosphäre mit liebevoll zubereitetem, köstlichem Essen. Wir kommen wieder.

Wir waren in der Vergangenheit schon öfter da, aber werden wohl nach gestern Abend nicht mehr hin gehen. Das Personal war unfreundlich und die Portionen sind unheimlich klein geworden. Schade. Preis-Leistung stimmt nicht mehr.

Eines meiner neuen Lieblingslokale. Klein, aber so gemütlich und einladend. Das Essen war hervorragend: hochwertig, kreativ und köstlich. Der Service war perfekt. Die Stühle waren unbequem und der Raum zu warm.

Erstmal das Positive: Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und angenehm und kompetent. Es ist ein süßes Restaurant, allerdings hatte ich mehr erwartet und war etwas enttäuscht. Die Köchin war nicht vor Ort. Es waren zwei Personen da. Die Portionen waren doch etwas klein und - das finde ich am problematischsten - die Beschreibung des Essens war nicht präzise genug. Ich hatte bspw als Nachtisch „Blumenkohl mit Karamell und Apfelkompott“. Dass ein Stück Kuchen dabei ist (und die Hauptrolle spielte), war mir nicht bewusst. Bei der Taube spielte Kohl eine Hauptrolle, und war nicht erwähnt. Ich empfehle, nach den genauen Zutaten zu fragen, da scheinbar auf der Karte nicht alles erwähnt wird. Insgesamt gutes Essen und super Service, aber leider wurden meine Erwartungen nicht erfüllt und es gab auch ein paar Enttäuschungen.

Was ein schönes kleines Restaurant Juwel. Wir waren heute zum Mittagessen im Coup de Coeur und sind begeistert. Besondere Geschmacksvariationen werden hier gekonnt kombiniert. Wir können die Forelle als Hauptgang und das Blumenkohldessert sehr empfehlen. Gerne wieder!

Leider eine Enttäuschung. Die Präsentation der Teller war schön, aber geschmacklich war das Essen ziemlich mittelmäßig. Die Desserts wirkten eher wie gewagte Experimente (Blumenkohl, Senfkörner), die uns nicht überzeugt haben. Auch der Service war wenig präsent. Für ein Restaurant dieser Kategorie hatten wir deutlich mehr erwartet

Wenn ich mir die Bewertungen anschaue haben wir wohl einen richtig schlechten Tag erwischt. Die Muscheln zur Vorspeise… Naja. Die Taube ungenießbar zäh. Und der Blumenkohl zum Nachtisch war auch gar nicht meins. Den Hype kann ich nicht verstehen aber wie geschrieben, vielleicht einfach ein schlechter Tag.

Ein wunderbares Abendessen, hervorragender Wein, exzellenter Service. Das kleine Restaurant ist warm und einladend und versprüht einen ganz besonderen Charme. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Der Restaurant stand schon seit Längerem auf unserer Liste, wir hatten endlich die Gelegenheit, es zu besuchen. Es war ein rundum wunderbarer Abend: Die Speisen waren außergewöhnlich köstlich, das Ambiente stilvoll und einladend, und der Service ausgesprochen aufmerksam und professionell. Nachdem mein 1.Besuch im Großen und Ganzen richtig schön war, wollte ich nochmal extra wegen der Tarte Tatin vorbeikommen. Um sicherzugehen, dass sie dann auch wirklich da ist, hatte ich sowohl auf der angegebene Telefonnummer eine Nachricht hinterlassen als auch über Instagram Kontakt aufgenommen. Auf beiden Kanälen keine Reaktion. Als die Tarte dann tatsächlich wieder auf der in der Webseite veröffentlichen Speisekarte stand, bin ich extra deshalb hingefahren. Nur um festzustellen, dass es sie "seit gestern" doch nicht mehr gibt und vergessen wurde, das im Internet zu aktualisieren. 1,5h umsonst investiert. Und leider null Punkte für die Kommunikation. Das war mein letzter Besuch. Wirklich schade.

ein winziges Lokal mit recht primitiver Einrichtung, überrascht mit exzellenter Küche und einem super freundlichen und lockeren Service. Hat Spaß gemacht und wir kommen wieder.

Das Essen war hervorragend und die Atmosphäre mit der Musik einfach perfekt. Wir durften sogar noch ein Glas Wein genießen, während das Personal bereits aufräumte. Am besten reserviert man frühzeitig!

Ich hatte ein wunderbares Erlebnis in diesem kleinen französischen Restaurant. Das Essen hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt – jedes Gericht war perfekt ausbalanciert, mit tollen Texturen und einem sehr angenehmen Mundgefühl. Das Linsendessert war eine überraschende und positive Überraschung, aber der absolute Höhepunkt war für mich die Tarte Tatin – einfach köstlich. Ich möchte dieses Restaurant auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen und bin gespannt, welche neuen Menüs es geben wird.

Eigentlich sollte man so einen Geheimtipp nicht streuen - aber ich muss euch unbedingt weiterempfehlen, nachdem ich nun nach dem einem Jahr bei Euch reserviert habe (wird zum Abendessen empfohlen). Ein delikates Mittagessen in einem Münchner Bistro Es wird Bistro genannt, weil es wirklich winzig ist. Es besteht nur aus einem Raum mit offener Küche und etwa fünf oder sechs Tischen. Die Speisekarte ist eine Tafel; man bestellt, indem man sie vor sich hinlegt. Entspannte französische Musik und rustikale Stühle schaffen eine wahrhaft wohltuende Atmosphäre. Es gibt nur eine Vorspeise, und die wird nur zum Abendessen angeboten. Es gibt drei Hauptgerichte: zwei mit Fleisch und eines vegetarisch. Das Mittagessen ist drei bis vier Euro günstiger als das Abendessen. Es gibt zwei Desserts, die mittags einen Euro günstiger sind als abends. Französischer Käse wird ebenfalls angeboten. Als Hauptgerichte wählten wir Steak und Tintenfisch. Die Präsentation und die Portionen waren exquisit. Vier Steaks mit einigen Scheiben Morcheln, zwei Stangen weißem Spargel und Vollkornreiswaffeln. Vier Baby-Tintenfische mit einigen Scheiben weißem Rettich, zwei kleinen Kartoffeln, Fischrogen und einigen Scheiben dunklem Brot. Die Zubereitung und Würzung waren hervorragend, besonders die Meeresfrüchte mit ihrer einzigartigen Zitronenbrühe. Es war köstlich, aber die Portionen waren zu klein; selbst die Mädchen waren nicht richtig satt. Das Dessert entsprach höchsten chinesischen Standards: „nicht zu süß“. Die schwarze Sesamcreme duftete herrlich, und die Kombination aus Keksen, Sahnesauce und eingelegten Kumquats war frisch und köstlich.

Haben da unser Einjähriges gefeiert und es war wirklich schön, das Essen war fine dining ohne zu viel schnick schnack, jedes Gericht war einfach perfekt, auch die atmosphäre und location sind süß. Haben 100€ für 2 Personen gezahlt (ohne Wein, aber alles auf dem Menü probiert), auf jeden Fall teuer aber die qualität war es wirklich wert. Eine Kleinigkeit nur, die Portionsgrößen waren etwas klein für manche, was egentlich kein Problem ist weil es auf nachfrage Brot gibt, aber auch da kamen immer nur wirklich kleine Scheiben und man will jetzt auch nicht 5 mal um "mehr Brot" bitten, um satt zu werden, deswegen da vielleicht einfach mehr servieren, gerade bei der zweiten oder dritten Nachfrage (; aber sonst wirklich ausgesprochen exzellente Küche und Service.

Pictures: Venison with tombillon, Brussels sprouts and cherry; salmon trout, brown butter mashed potatoes and grapefruit sauce; mascarpone cream with Darjeeling, grape gel and macadamia crumble; chocolate tartlet, red cabbage purée and blackberries. MONA JOHN Coup de Coeur is truly a fine-dining gem in Munich! Moreover, it's one of the sadly increasingly rare oases in our beautiful city, where it's proven time and again that brilliant food and service can be delivered in an intimate atmosphere, like visiting good friends, all at extremely fair prices! Mona John is a gifted chef whose creations are approaching Michelin star status. Her talent for presenting complexity (acidity, sweetness, fruit, earthy notes, roasted aromas, etc.) to the palate in a concise and precise manner before the dish dissolves into a perfectly harmonious and delicious whole is truly impressive. The wines paired with the food are also perfectly selected. For those who love to indulge their soul with good food, MONA JOHN Coup de Coeur is a must-visit!

A nice, small restaurant with six or seven tables. The welcome could have been a bit friendlier, but otherwise the service was very attentive. The only thing that bothered me was the response to my comment that the red wine was a bit too cold ("it will warm up automatically"). The menu was very good (oysters, bouillabaisse, venison, cheese selection), well-balanced, flavorful, and truly delicious.

The restaurant is relatively small, but this makes it a very cozy and exclusive experience. The food is superb, the service is impeccable, and you can feel the passion that goes into everything.

Just like me, Mona is a Munich native with a French heart. The venison dish was incredibly tender and wonderfully seasoned. In France, dessert is a must – because everyone knows that in France, "privé de dessert" is the ultimate punishment: chestnut with caramelized brittle and chocolate tart… simply divine ⭐️

Excellent food in a charming restaurant

A super cute little restaurant with a really cozy, living-room atmosphere. We went there for lunch for the first time today, and the food was a culinary dream. Being able to watch the chefs preparing the food makes it even more special. We'll definitely be back!

Dear Mona, The three of us visited your restaurant on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, for lunch. I love the simplicity of your (French) restaurant. You were highly focused when we entered and greeted you. This is surely essential when you, as the sole chef, have to prepare everything for perhaps up to 15 people – three main courses and several desserts – on short notice. I can imagine that perfect pre-organization is necessary. As a young chef, you truly create refreshing and varied dishes with a great deal of feeling and experience. We were all delighted by both the visual presentation and the taste. I had the beef cheeks. They were incredibly tender and melted in my mouth. They came with a fantastic lemon sauce; full of aroma without being too acidic. Alongside this was a robust beetroot purée with a wonderful, not-too-earthy flavor. I could have easily had more of the original beef cheek sauce. The wine from the Languedoc was an excellent match. And the dessert was fantastic: half a bowl of white chocolate filled with vanilla cream and little meringue pieces. A true delight. We all had a very nice lunch in a very pleasant, unobtrusive atmosphere. A compliment also to your server, who gave us excellent advice and answered all our questions. I'm not sure where you could improve. I'll keep coming back for more. We visited you for the second time on October 30, 2025. Once again, the atmosphere was lovely with pleasant background music. You have a charming new sommelier who gives excellent wine recommendations – I had the Château L’Ermite d’Auzan, which was robust with tannins, just the way I like it. The bouillabaisse with the sauce and rouille tasted superb, just like in France. The venison was good, but the sauce wasn't very flavorful and, unfortunately, the presentation wasn't very appealing. In contrast, the salsify with crème anglaise and crunchy almond caramel was excellent. We'll be back.

With such great reviews, I was really excited to see what to expect. The concept is pretty cool and showed me that you can achieve incredible things with a small space: a spartan and simple interior, an open kitchen, and a simple yet exceptional menu. Attentive and friendly service. The chef was a one-man show. Ultimately, though, I wasn't entirely convinced. It was delicious. No question. But exceptional? For example, my main course was lukewarm to cold. But as always, it's all a matter of taste. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful evening.

I am absolutely delighted with my experience at MONA JOHN – Coup de Cœur. The boutique is magnificent, the atmosphere soothing, and the customer service truly attentive. The advice is professional, personalized, and sincere. You can feel the passion and attention to detail. I will definitely come back—a real favorite, as the name suggests!

It's very cozy. Friendly service and delicious food and wine. We especially enjoyed the truffle dessert.

On the recommendation of a friend, we reserved a table at Mona John and indulged ourselves in a culinary experience. The menu is small but extremely fine. The food was sensational, but the portions were VERY modest. We weren't really full. What I personally missed was some bread with something fancy to start with the amuse-bouche. The parking situation was surprising... you can park directly at the Augustiner on Landsberger Strasse in the evenings for a fee. It's less than a 5-minute walk from there. We will definitely be back!!!

Super delicious food. Classical flavors with a bit of extra adventure in the form of spice and zest. The menu is short but it changes through the seasons. We will go again for the new dishes and new flavors.

I always feel like I'm in good hands! A friendly, personal atmosphere with excellent advice and, of course, delicious food. We also love the wine selection! If you have any food intolerances or dietary preferences, they'll happily cater to your needs.

Super small and super fine. It tasted truly delicious, and we had a very pleasant evening. The menu is manageable—in keeping with the small kitchen in the dining room (which builds trust). But it has everything you need for a delightful, epicurean evening with authentic French flair. Leaving out the unimportant and leaving out the essential is, as we all know, the true art. In every field. Here, they are masters of it. 😀 Honestly. This is NOT a purchased review! 😉

Excellent experience at Mona's! We were both delighted by the quality and inventiveness of the dishes. I found the wild boar—with artichokes, crushed lemon, and almond cream—delicious. Wild boar is usually quite tough to chew, so slicing it so thinly is a great idea for enjoying it effortlessly without sacrificing the flavor of the meat. The desserts are equally delicious and original; I never would have thought chocolate would go so well with marinated mini cauliflowers and blackcurrants. Finally, and contrary to some of the comments below, we didn't have any odor problems, as the door was left open during the meal. I highly recommend this place.

I urgently needed the restroom and politely asked if I could use the restroom there quickly. The extremely annoyed employee said, "No, sorry," and sent me away.

It was definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to in Munich so far. The food was fantastic, and the staff was extremely friendly! A definite insider tip, if it isn't already! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We tried Mona John's restaurant because we were looking for a caterer for our wedding. It was an easy winner since, according to my French wife, "it is the best French food in Munich". We found that the limited menu was made of very good quality products, arranged in original and tasteful recipes. In the restaurant, the kitchen has a central place so that you can get a sneak peek into the preparation, which levels up the authenticity. We loved every part of the menu, from the amuse bouche to the desert. At our wedding, everybody enjoyed the meal, in particular the perfectly cooked veal filet.

Exceptionally good, refined food with surprising flavor combinations in a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere

A tiny, intimate bistro with a somewhat rustic decor. What comes out of the open kitchen is hard to find better in Munich at these prices. The combinations of ingredients, flavors, and textures are sometimes surprising, but initial skepticism gives way to pure joy at the first bite. Go in and try it for yourself!

We were very pleasantly surprised! The restaurant looks rather unassuming (don't let that put you off), but the food is really good. It's freshly prepared by two friendly gentlemen, after a thorough explanation of the menu. Thumbs up for such great customer service! I've already recommended it to friends and colleagues.

An absolute taste experience, and I highly recommend it. For me, this is truly Michelin-star quality. I'll be happy to come back again and again, thank you for the experience.

The restaurant is truly a little gem in the West End. It's small and comfortably furnished. The menu and drinks list are very comprehensive, which isn't a negative at all. What was served was simply fantastic. I've had food of this quality before in Michelin-starred restaurants. The portions are generous, and three courses are very filling. It's mainly for two people and is perfect for dates or other special occasions. I'll try to come back for lunch. For a French bistro, I missed the champagne, but that's just a side note. Crémant is also available as a sparkling wine.

Very tasty, very fine, and very good value for money. As a French person, I'm very happy to have discovered this place. ;-) We'd love to come back.

The food was very creative and unusual. It tasted very good.

Unfortunately, disappointing – more show than substance. The restaurant appears charming at first glance, the concept well thought out – but the culinary experience was unfortunately not convincing. The starter – a "blanched egg on mushy peas" – tasted good, but the technical execution was flawed: The egg was only briefly boiled, not blanched. Not a disaster, but a detail that makes all the difference when you have high standards. The main course, on the other hand, was a complete failure: The Iberico pork was completely cooked, dry, and cold after just a few minutes – due to the cold plate and the equally cold cherry compote placed directly on top. The whole thing was accompanied by fried bok choy, which was extremely bitter and overpowered all the other flavors. The dish was overall unbalanced and inconsistent in its composition. With a small menu, the few dishes should be perfect – unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. For the price level, it was simply disappointing.

I've rarely enjoyed such an exquisite meal, and at such a fair price. The waitress was more attentive and helpful than I've ever experienced. All the dishes, the entire restaurant, and even the atmosphere were created with great care. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

I'd actually like to keep secret how good it is here. But that doesn't help Mona. It's more than good – the value for money is certainly exceptional, if not unique in this city. You can watch the chefs at work, receive wonderful advice on wine selection, feel like you're in Paris, and are right in the middle of Munich. The team is super friendly, the decor is beautiful and simple. The perfect place for lunch or dinner with a loved one, or just to enjoy alone...

In this restaurant I forget about time and feel like I'm on vacation. My absolute favorite place!

I've been to Mona John's twice for dinner now – and each time it's been a real highlight. This small, charming restaurant combines enjoyment, dedication, and a palpable joy in being a host in a special way. The food is, quite simply, excellent. Each course was not only delicious, but also presented with attention to detail. You immediately notice that the cooking here is done with passion – and you can taste it. The warm service is also worth mentioning. The team is attentive and wonderfully helpful. They take time for their guests, are happy to answer questions about the dishes, and create an all-round comfortable atmosphere in which you feel welcome and valued as a guest. I would gladly return.

Nice, small restaurant with good food and great service. Overall, we had a lovely evening at Coup de Coeur. The service was very friendly, attentive, and gave us good advice. We opted for the scallop for starter, quail and black tiger prawn for main course, and the chocolate mousse and five cheeses for dessert. They also served a bottle of white Bordeaux. As an amuse-bouche, we had a cucumber gazpacho, which was very tasty. The scallop for starter came with fennel and celery. Unfortunately, it wasn't a flavor explosion, but the scallop was perfectly cooked. The main courses were impressive in terms of taste; everything was perfectly balanced: sweetness, acidity, fat, and salt. Very good! The dessert was beautifully presented and tasty, but nothing special. The cheese platter was well-chosen and definitely the better choice for me. Unfortunately, we lose points for the small portions. After the three courses, we weren't really full. I expected a bit more. Suggestion: Simply serve a little bread, as is common in many fine-dining restaurants. It's filling and everyone is happy. Otherwise, it's better to adjust the portion sizes to a three-course meal.

The restaurant impresses at first glance with its minimalist yet very stylish interior design concept. Clean lines, warm lighting accents, and a calm, modern atmosphere make a visit an aesthetic experience. Those who value ambiance will immediately feel at home here. The service was friendly and attentive, although they could have been a bit more present. Between courses, we were left to our own devices a little too long. When we asked for some bread, the server brought us three small pieces of bread on a plate the size of an espresso saucer. Which brings us to the core of the review. The food was visually appealing and presented with great attention to detail – a clear plus. We were somewhat disappointed in some aspects of the taste and had hoped for more. Some of the prepared sauces and creams lacked flavor. The portion size, in particular, was disappointing. It was simply too little for a full dinner, which unfortunately detracts from the overall impression. We left the restaurant hungry, which doesn't seem appropriate after three courses for around €50. Even compared to similar restaurant concepts in Munich, the price-performance ratio wasn't right. It was all the more regrettable that when we asked for bread, we were (also) only served a small amount.

Wow!! We spent an evening at Mona John Coup de Coeur for a special occasion and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was incredible, both in terms of the quality of the dishes and the combination of the individual ingredients. A true taste experience 😀 and the wine also matched perfectly. The service is super attentive and friendly. The shop is small and elegant, with a personal touch. We would definitely go back.

We were there last night for a complete taste experience, the 3 course menu, followed by a cheese platter, white and red, both deserts, everything perfectly coordinated and harmonious without being boring, quite the opposite. A homely atmosphere impresses with the selected seating and a small but perfect menu, I almost had the written main course after desert and order a plate, just before that everything was so good that I didn't want to miss the taste experience :) Service wasn't intrusive but always present! Just GREAT!

I had a very nice evening at Mona John. The ambience is small, fine and yet pleasantly relaxed. The best thing is: the direct view into the kitchen. The friendly gentleman who served us made very good recommendations regarding the wine selection. The dishes are delicious and a taste experience. My plate had various colorful components that went well with the fish. The dessert I was most looking forward to was sorrel with buttermilk and other herbs. The only negative point from my side. I forgot to ask the name of the dessert wine. This was indescribably good and I would love to drink it again.

A small, fine restaurant run with a lot of passion. For us, everything was just right here, both culinary and human. The waiting times can sometimes be a little longer, so it's worth allowing enough time.

Another great meal at Mona's today. We're already regulars, but today we've created another stunning dessert - a dessert made from sorrel, dill and buttermilk with parsley dots and sugar-crusted leaves. It's just fantastic. Go! :-)

Unpretentious dishes, arranged with attention to detail: every ingredient has its place and contributes to the taste experience. The Sr. Pierre was perfectly cooked and harmonized with the crispy, fried pieces of chorizo ​​and both were rounded off by the carrot variations.

We went for the first time for an evening meal after reserving two weeks in advance (small very successful place, hard to get a spot!). Coup de coeur feels like a classic French-style small gastro restaurant with a weekly rotating menu with little choice but definitely something for everyone. We both had the starter, a half blue cheese tartelette that was genuinely impressive, perfect balance between the flavors of the ingredients with the blue cheese tasty but not overpowering and a dough to die for. For main courses we had the veal filet (perfectly executed meat, slightly uninspired plain boiled white asparagus and three quarters of a morel that left me wanting more) and potato variation (good dish with a delicious gremolata to add a kick to the dish). For desserts we had one of each available, a lait ribot and fresh herbs dessert (tasty, light and very refreshing), and a biscuit with sesam cream and kumquat (great as well). We shared a bottle of Entre-deux-mers during the meal. Overall we had a great experience and will come back!

I had been recommended the restaurant - and when we arrived we were surprised at how small it was. A total of 7 tables where you could sit on a bench along the wall and also on small benches in the room. The waiter was very friendly and approachable and we quickly got the drinks we wanted. The food was picked quickly (the selection isn't very large) and so I was able to relax and look around. The sparseness of the furnishings and the rather uncomfortable seating do not invite you to linger. There was also some color missing (there were flowers on the counter but there was something missing on the walls for the eye to rest on). Cushions and/or curtains would have been pleasant. The greeting from the kitchen was surprisingly good (I had expected something more sparse) and so we continued with the main courses. Everything tasted wonderful and the combination of textures and different flavors was wonderful and pleased us both. Unfortunately, one half of my plate was a little colder than the other. Nevertheless, we ate everything empty. The dessert was also wonderful - for me corn/miso/passion fruit - again a nice play with the flavors - only the miso component was a little too salty for me. All in all, we would love to come back and look forward to seeing how it develops further.

Mona John's Coup de Coeur is located near Theresienwiese in a small side street. The restaurant is small, the furnishings appear very straightforward and are largely free of decorations, pictures and plants. Here the focus is on preparing excellent dishes in the small, open kitchen. The weekly changing menu can be viewed online in advance of a visit. Since the restaurant only has a few seats, a reservation is required! Both the beef cheeks and the open Rivolo were excellent both visually and in taste. The dessert we selected, miso, corn and passion fruit, also demonstrated a successful combination of the various components. We were the last guests at our lunch, the service was very friendly, very attentive and accommodating. Very clear recommendation
