Wow – I am absolutely thrilled! For the first time ever, I really enjoyed sushi and this restaurant completely won me over. The wide selection is simply impressive, especially for someone like me who doesn't like seaweed, salmon or tuna. There are so many alternatives here, including vegetarian versions as well as sushi with chicken, avocado and mango - a real revelation in terms of taste! I particularly enjoyed the concept of the treadmill. For €18.80 during the week and €23 on the weekend you can be surprised and try it out at your leisure. Alternatively, you can also order à la carte – there really is something for everyone. A small downside was the service: we weren't allowed to sit down freely, and the plates on the conveyor belt weren't labeled. This made it difficult to figure out exactly what you were trying. In addition, you couldn't open the plates to get more detailed information. Two more negative points: card payments are not accepted, and unfortunately our dog was not allowed in. Despite these small limitations, the food and atmosphere were so good that I definitely want to come back. The restaurant is perfect for relaxed conversation and a quiet meal. Absolutely recommended for sushi lovers and those who want to become one!

A nice restaurant in the middle of the city. The furnishings are pleasant with dim lighting. The ordering options are: a la carte, all you can eat carte, running sushi + ordering option from the carte. Be careful if you come with several people. Because a mix of options is then not possible. Everyone in the group must choose the same option. The food itself is delicious and fresh. I would have liked more Crisby options though. Food ordered via the tablet is good, the food on the conveyor belt was okay, but you could tell it was already making a few rounds. Still too expensive with a tablet. The service wasn't particularly motivated or committed, we weren't offered the tablet, we had to ask specifically for everything to be explained to us. The waitress was often on her cell phone, so our food ordered on the tablet was allowed to sit around for 20 minutes. In general we had to ask for everything, soy sauce was brought to our table automatically after 10 minutes, everything else had to be asked when the waitress was mentally present at work. From 45€ card payment, even utopian, it should go without saying that you can pay with card, every baker can do it without a minimum amount.

You have to give yourself a little time so that you can eat the different sushi and other delicious things off the assembly line, for quick hunger in between (assembly line sushi).

Actually 4.5 stars. The food was good, very tasty and even though it was quite full, the food always came quickly. Half a point was deducted for the vegetarian selection, which could have been a little larger. But for the fish lover there was nothing to complain about. Top

Even though we came with an appointment, everything was very disappointing Update 12/27/2024 Today I tried this restaurant for the second time, which I have visited before. Honestly the sushi is delicious and fresh. I chose running sushi, but the belt was almost empty the whole time. It's not so much about the variety, but about putting enough on the tape to suit everyone. There was only one employee serving the drinks and one employee both preparing the sushi and taking orders from the menu. I actually wanted to give the place another chance, but this is really disappointing. I honestly can't recommend it as the experience will always be incomplete or unsatisfying. But as I said, the taste of the sushi is good.

We love eating there! The offer is great and you'll feel really full. There is a sushi conveyor belt there, but you can also order a menu / individually from the menu. Unfortunately, it's no longer as good as it once was. I was there at lunchtime and in one hour only 10 new plates were put on the conveyor belt. There were hardly any variations, a lot of vegetarian sushi and otherwise just surimi and normal (canned) tuna. Of course you don't expect a fire department at lunchtime, but there should be a few more fish options for just under €20. It's best to take the tablet menu, although the price for lunch is €14 more expensive...

An interesting experience of eating sushi. You should book a table at the beginning of the conveyor belt in good time so that you can get the best sushi. Unfortunately, the selection of sushi is not particularly large. There are few vegetarian options, I particularly missed sushi with avocado. Unfortunately, the sushi, which was rarely put on the conveyor belt, didn't taste good either. Because the conveyor belt was almost permanently empty during our visit. We had to wait several minutes before any new sushi was even put on the belt. We barely made it to our table because the restaurant was relatively full. Unfortunately, when our time was up, we had to leave the store hungry. That's why I can't recommend the restaurant. Basically, I think the concept of running sushi is an exciting experience that every sushi lover should have.

Mein Mann und ich kommen immer wieder sehr gerne hierher und sind jedesmal begeistert. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, das Essen hat sehr gute Qualität und ist wirklich lecker. Hier kann man in schöner Atmosphäre beim All-you-can eat ganz viel Sushi genießen und auch verschiedene andere Speisen entdecken. Four of us were at Moki Moki in Essen and ordered both “All You Can Eat” from the tape and à la carte. To be honest, the evening wasn't good, but it wasn't that bad either. When we arrived it was warm outside but still pleasant. Things looked completely different inside. There was no air conditioning and you couldn't open the windows, which made the whole thing really uncomfortable. We were warmly welcomed at reception. The lady there was a bit overwhelmed and explained everything to us very quickly, so that we only understood half of it at first. There were only a few people in the restaurant and the sushi line was almost empty, although there were a few guests sitting there. That irritated us, so we sat down at a table instead. We could have eaten off the conveyor belt, but that would have been complicated because other people were sitting directly on the conveyor belt in front of the food. Our first a la carte order took over 15 minutes to arrive. Wait 15 minutes after each order, so we ordered immediately after approval from the tablet. When the food finally came, everything was served on a large platter. This left us quite confused as we thought everyone would get their order on their own plate. On the tablet you could choose one letter per guest, so we assumed we would get four separate plates with each dish. Instead, everything came together and we had to remember who ordered what and how much a portion was, especially when several people ordered the same thing. We later discovered on the tablet that we could see what everyone had ordered. But not how much there is in one serving. The chaos became even greater when we ordered the third round: The rest of the second order came to the table together with the dishes from the third order on another large platter. That was really confusing. But you have to give it to the store. The quality of the sushi and other dishes was really good. Everything tasted great, there's nothing to complain about. Another negative point was that card payments are only possible from €45. This means it's better to have cash with you, otherwise you'll have to order more drinks to reach the amount. Overall it was a rather mixed evening. The food was really good, but the heat in the restaurant and the chaos with the orders unfortunately spoiled the evening.

I found the restaurant to be very small. The prices were too high. With the four of us, there were only 10 people in the restaurant. It took far too long for our food to arrive at the table. As a guest you only have a certain amount of time to place your order via tablet, but it takes forever until it is served. Since we had the all you can eat with sushi band you could order 5 rounds with 5 dishes from the menu and use the sushi band. But for your information these are mini courses that come. We have been regular guests there for several years. However, the young lady recently became increasingly unfriendly and rude to us. Finally, she didn't want to give us two portions of wasabi for three people because we had to finish the first portion first! We will no longer visit this store because the service and the selection on the production line have declined significantly!

You can do that, the shop was clean, sushi was okay and tasted fresh. I found it strange that you had to stick to a certain seating arrangement. Guests who wanted to order a la carte should not sit next to guests who wanted to eat sushi off the line.

We went there for lunch, the place was completely empty. After we arrived the waitress came to us asking us if we want to eat the all you can eat or let the menu, we decided to do the all you can eat. We were thinking it will have the usual rolls, nigiri, maki.. however, all it had was rolls with cucumber, peppers, and imitation crab. When I asked if that is all they offer, the waitress said something loudly to the cook and then 3 plates with nigiri showed up. Very disappointing and expensive. The staff was rude as well.

June 13, 2024 I had reserved a table online for 12 p.m. Unfortunately it wasn't open and no one answered the phone. There was no note on the door. The friendly neighbors on the right didn't know what was going on either. The written request also remained unanswered. It's a shame, I was so looking forward to this restaurant. We have been coming here for years and have always been satisfied. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The service is always friendly. The belt is always full and if you want more than the standard sushi selection, there is plenty to choose from on the menu. I think it's understandable if you don't have the entire repertoire on tape. Moki Moki is not a huge restaurant with tons of chefs. With many orders there can be short waiting times, which can easily be overcome by using the conveyor belt. We always enjoy being here!

It fluctuates between three or four stars. The food is okay, but there are better sushi restaurants. Unfortunately it takes a very long time for the ordered items to arrive. You can take something from the treadmill, but it will obviously be cold. Okay for sushi, not so good for other things. Like almost all sushi restaurants, relatively expensive.

The best sushi in Essen is made here. There is an all-you-can-eat lunch and dinner buffet. Sushi are prepared by real :) Japanese people. You can order from the conveyor belt (rolling sushi) or from the menu. They now have trays for ordering. You'll definitely feel full and the quality is breathtaking. An insider tip: come on Sunday, it's quieter there. On Friday and Saturday evenings all hell breaks loose and everyone is stressed. Price-performance ratio is top! A must for all sushi fans! ❤️

Watch out for this place- Bad all you can eat experience The sign said all you can eat was 18 euros, the waitress inside said it was actually 23 euros. Ok, I paid, but it set the tone for a misleading experience. The waitress was the only person I interacted with and it was clear from the beginning that she did not care about my experience, and she did not care about making me feel welcome. Maybe it was because my German is not perfect and I had to ask her to repeat a few times what she had said, but she was curt, always sat behind the table away from me so I had to call out to get her attention, on her phone or otherwise distracted. This service left me feeling unwelcome and really had the biggest impact. Everything else I will mention in my review would have been far less worse, and I would not even have left this review, had the waitress and human interaction at least have been somewhat decent. Good fish is expensive, and skills cost time and money- but simple manners are free, after all. Secondly, she asked me if I would like anything to drink, and I just said water. She did not told me it costed extra. She didn't ask me if I meant tap water (which I did) or a bottle of water. She did not tell me the price, which was a ridiculous 6 euros. She didnt let me pay, probably in the hope I would buy other things without knowing. While this is unfortunately becoming an increasingly popular tactic among restaurants, such a tactic is used by fast food places, where you're not charged 23 euros for a meal- a significant amount. As a customer, I feel betrayed, and since this is my first time, I have lost all trust in this restaurant. The food itself was OK. The rice was nice, well seasoned. However, I had specifically gone to eat raw fish- that which I can't as easily make at home- and it was clear that they wanted to save money above everything. The amount of raw fish was miniscule- I waited 15 minutes for the first 2 pieces of raw fish- and the whole time I wondered if the waitress had even sent the request. Again, there were 4 or 5 people, but I had received no attention from the waitress at all. I ate mostly rice. However, I can tell the chef was decent, so probably it's worth buying something on the menu. Overall, I feel very disappointed with my experience. I paid 30 euros for a bunch of rice, a 6 euro water bottle, and a disinterested service. I would be careful of this place.

Nice restaurant with good sushi in a central location!

The restaurant was almost empty, and unfortunately the treadmill was too. However, the people who got sushi non-stop were the Lieferando drivers. We had to watch helplessly and make do with the ready-made spring rolls and edamame that came by every now and then on the conveyor belt. Just as sparingly as they put "fresh" sushi on the conveyor belt, they also put the (not particularly good) fish on the nigiri - you could see through it. After an hour and a half we weren't really full, but our time was up, as was our patience. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the Moki Moki.

Wir waren am Pfingstsonntag dort, hatten zum Abendessen einen Tisch reserviert. Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, schon einmal so schlecht Sushi gegessen zu haben. Angefangen hat es mit einer Beschreibung der verschiedenen Möglichkeiten, aus dem ,,all you can eat“ Programm auswählen zu können. Wir haben uns dann für die Mischung zwischen Sushi vom Band und a la Carte entschieden. Auf dem Sushi Laufband fanden sich dann hin und wieder 2-3 Teller, leider war fast keiner dieser abgedeckt, was aus hygienischer Sicht absolut unmöglich ist. Vor allem wenn in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Band, neben den Gästen auch noch große, unansehnliche, künstliche Blumen bzw. Bäume platziert wurden welche als ,,Staubfänger“ dienen. Das Sushi am Band lief teils minutenlang ohne einen einzigen Teller. Aufgefüllt wurde das Band dann mit einer großen Anzahl an Tellern von Krabbenbrot oder Schoten, von Sushi keine Spur. Nun gut, dafür hatten wir uns ja glücklicherweise auch das a la Carte gewählt, dachten wir zumindest. Und das was kam, war ungenießbar. Egal, was serviert wurde (richtige Gerichte wurden nicht angeboten) schmeckte durchweg nach ranzigem Friteusenfett und ein wirklicher Geschmack einzelner Komponenten war nicht erkennbar. Dazu gebratene Nudeln, welche ihren Namen in keinster Weise verdient haben. Laberig, wässrig und ungenießbar. Positiv möchte ich hervorheben, dass das Personal bemüht war aber den wirklich erschreckend schlechten Eindruck des Essens nicht weg machen konnte. Ingesamt von Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ungenügend. Aber nun gut, hätten wir es nicht probiert, könnten wir keine Meinung dazu abgeben.

Seat reserved for 3. When we arrived we were allowed to wait 16 minutes. The restaurant was not full, but the seating was not optimal. You can order from all-you-can every 15 minutes - the treadmill is bridged. Normally. When I ordered 4 (after a good 45 minutes) my first plate arrived. My companion had to wait even longer. Unfortunately the tape was empty in the meantime. Also a good 40 minutes of just “chips” and “ebamame” - i.e. “finished stuff”. I was about to just pay for the drinks and leave when the first two plates arrived. Unfortunately, it gives the impression that delivery services are more likely to be served than local customers. A pity!

What an experience! After a good 50 minutes after the third order, we received ONE of the 15 plates possible up to that point. Respect! You have to do that first. The tape was empty for 40 minutes. But air and love help - just not in the restaurant, at the table and when you're hungry. The food that came next was acceptable and tasty. I've been here several times - the experience today and dealing with it - especially when delivery drivers are constantly picking up fresh and ready-made food - takes some getting used to. At least at around €40 including a drink.

For All You Can Eat Sushi and Japanese Cuisine, this is my favorite in food! Great service, lovely staff, the food is so delicious (yaki udon, fried mushrooms are my favorites, they are ordered almost every round) and a nice ambience. We love going there. Suitable for vegetarians, it's best to ask the service staff beforehand if you're not sure. :)

There's not much going on in the morning and the food seems even fresher - so it's highly recommended! Even though the prices are really high everywhere these days, this is definitely a good shop. If you order with a tablet, some of the dessert options may not be displayed correctly - just ask the waitress, there may be more dishes available.

If you prefer rice in sushi, this is the place for you. I've never had less fish in my sushi anywhere. You can almost see through the nigiri. But we were full. Therefore 2 points for the food.

There were three of us there today and we decided on the sushi from the conveyor belt. The sushi on offer wasn't bad, but it quickly became clear to us why the waitress was so "pushy" at the beginning about the more expensive food at the table: the conveyor belt only served very simple food. What doesn't work at all, however, is the fact that we were overcharged by a good €10.00 on the bill. Unfortunately we didn't have a receipt issued, so we noticed it too late.

Unfortunately overall very disappointing. I'm not sure why this location is rated 4.2 stars. The two of us ate at the all you can eat sushi band. The selection of sushi was very small and unimaginative (maki with cucumber, peppers, avocado, etc.). Not for people who like to expand their horizons beyond the “standard Maki”. Despite the information on the menu that you could also get other sushi upon request, I was told on site that none of it was included. I suggested to the waitress 10 different sushis from the menu, none of which were probably included. The one star is only given for the nice picture on the wall with a cat on it and for the fact that the waitress was somewhat friendly. Overall a very disappointing experience, we will not be returning.

Das Einzige All you can Eat in Essen mit guter Sushi Qualität meiner Meinung nach. Deutlich überdurchschnittlich im Vergleich zu den anderen all you can eat in der Gegend. Der Fisch ist sehr frisch und die Auswahl groß. Empfohlen!

Das zweite mal dort einen tisch am Laufbahnen resavieren und einmal sind wir gegangen, weil gar kein Tisch frei war und wir hätten lange warten müssen und das zweite Mal einen Tisch in der hintersten Ecke und nicht am Laufband bekommen schlecht im Organisieren

Muss man für eine kleine Kinder auch zahlen ich rede Uber 2 Jahre alt und wann ich gefragt habe was soll das wie Konen sie ein Kind voll Prise brechen sie meinte ist so ich werde nie wieder da essen und dabei geht nicht Uber Geld sondern einfach ist nicht richtig ich werde die Restaurant niemals empfehlen

Das Moki Moki Sushi & Grill Restaurant ist ein schicker gut für ein Date geeignetes Restaurant. Wir hatten das all you can eat wo wir sehr gut satt geworden sind. Im Restaurant hatten wir eine Riesen Auswahl an essen was für uns bestellen konnten. Dazu gab es die Klassiker sowie Sushi Gerichte. Leider hatten wir paar Probleme mit dem Service. Sie hat gegen Ende sehr nachgelassen und hat uns sehr lange warten lassen weil sie am Handy beschäftigt war auch wenn sie sehr freundlich war macht es das nicht wieder gut. Trotzdem gibt es von mir aus eine Empfehlung für das Restaurant, ist perfekt für Sushi Liebhaber geeignet.

All you can eat am Band lohnt sich nicht. Das essen ist gleich und ohne Abwechslung. Es gibt überwiegend nur die eine Sorte inside out. Sehr schade.

Wir waren heute zum 2. mal hier essen und sind sehr zufrieden. Der Service ist super, das Personal freundlich und höflich, Sushi ist geschmacklich sehr gut. In 1,5 Std. sind wir mehr als satt geworden und kommen ganz bestimmt wieder.

Wir haben das Running-Sushi bei Moki Moki ausprobiert und waren geschmacklich und preislich echt super zufrieden. Die Atmosphäre war in Ordnung nur der Service war ausbaufähig, wenn man aber auf gutes und preiswertes Sushi steht eine sehr gute Wahl!

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal im Moki Moki und wollten das Running Sushi ausprobieren. Die Tischreservierung online war unkompliziert. Hier erwähnten wir in den Bemerkungen, dass wir anlässlich des Geburtstags unserer Tochter für 5 Personen Running Sushi reservieren möchten. Bei unserer Ankunft waren wir überrascht, dass unsere Sitzplätze liebevoll für den Geburtstag dekoriert waren. Als Überraschung bekam unsere Tochter am Ende noch ein leckeres Dessert mit Wunderkerze serviert. Wir saßen direkt am Anfang des Sushi-Bands und konnten bei der Zubereitung zusehen. Das war sehr interessant, vor allem für die Kinder. Die angebotenen Sushi-Gerichte auf dem Band waren durchweg frisch, sehr schmackhaft und sehr abwechslungsreich. Zusätzlich gab es z.B. köstlichen Algensalat, Edamamebohnen sowie Frühlingsrollen und Tintenfischringe. Letztere waren auf den Punkt frittiert und hatten die perfekte Konsistenz. Unerwartetes Highlight waren die süßen Sushi mit Banane und Schokoladensauce. Die Kombination mit dem Sushireis war das sehr interessant und schmeckte wirklich super. Der Service war unaufdringlich und freundlich. Unser Fazit: wir waren begeistert und werden das Restaurant auf jeden Fall nochmal besuchen. Empfehlung von Herzen!

Mein Favorit wenn ich an ECHT japanische Sushi denke. Gehen oft mit meine Familie hin. Qualität ist TOP. Ob am Laufband oder ALL YOU… vom Tablet oder a la Cart es wird immer alles sehr ordentlich serviert. Reservierung ist telefonisch möglich, nur kurz anrufen und voilà es gibt eine leckere Mahlzeit✅ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Katastrophaler Service Getränke kommen ca nach 25 Minuten wenn überhaupt!!! Essen kommt auch ca nach 30 Minuten!! Und der Service ist sehr unfreundlich und komplett überfordert!!!
