It's a shame you can't give negative stars. My wife bought a couch there in July 2025. Delivery time was approximately 18 weeks, so early December 2025. We received no updates from Höffner. Our attempts to call them ended with her on hold. On November 29, 2025 (Saturday, around 3:30 p.m.), we sent an email inquiring about the delivery status/date. Less than 15 minutes later, a very nice woman from some call center in eastern Germany called us and informed us that the supplier was now aiming for the 10th calendar week of 2026. As I said, on a Saturday afternoon at almost 4:00 p.m., this employee knew everything about the situation, but Höffner in Rösrath didn't deem it necessary to inform us as customers (our phone number and email address are on file in the purchase agreement). The employee offered us a free cancellation and confirmed it in writing immediately after we agreed. This employee would have deserved 5 stars, but the negatives outweigh the positives. According to the employee, the deposit we paid would be processed immediately. Nothing happened at first. After another email, we were informed that the payment had been processed. It finally arrived in our account on the afternoon of December 5, 2025. Real-time bank transfer seems to be completely unknown to you. Not a word of apology from Höffner for the unpleasant circumstances. We are "suffering" from your company for a long time. Just FYI: We bought a sofa from a competitor in Bornheim on Monday, December 1, 2025, and it was delivered and assembled yesterday, December 9. There is still service 🙂 You can spare us the standard reply that follows almost all negative reviews. After this experience, there will be no further opportunity. 👎

After buying my beloved sofa at Höffner in Rösrath, I also went there for kitchen consultation and planning. Communication, including scheduling an appointment, was completely straightforward and handled digitally. The in-person consultation with Ms. Gerner was incredibly professional. She explained all the important details very clearly and answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns (it's my first time planning a kitchen). I found exactly what I was looking for during my first appointment and, thanks to several promotions, even saved almost 50% off the original price. The selection on-site, the display kitchens, and the entire layout of the truly enormous kitchen department impressed me. I felt like a kid in a candy store! :D The financing options and the kitchen measurements taken in my apartment were also handled very professionally and without any hassle. I can't wait to start cooking in my own kitchen soon! Compared to other well-known furniture stores where I've also had kitchen consultations, I was much happier with the service at Höffner (in Rösrath). I would always go to Höffner again for such projects and have already recommended it to friends.

I've been shopping at Höffner for years and have generally been satisfied with the selection and quality. However, today I bought a product that went through the checkout with a higher price than the one marked on the product itself. The cashier's response was curt: either you pay the higher price or you have to cancel your purchase and get a receipt from the relevant department! What kind of business model is that? I ended up paying the higher price because I didn't want to wait in line again, but that's not right, and certainly not in that tone! I've never experienced anything like that in a furniture store before!

A very large selection, even of items I hadn't previously considered. I went there for a sofa and I have to say I could feel a significant difference in quality between the loss leaders and the mid-range and high-end models. Two salespeople took turns helping me, quite unobtrusively, despite the large crowd. Very pleasant and without any pressure. Sofas were located on two different floors and in three different corners of the store. I'm deducting one star because it takes a lot of time to get an overview and requires a lot of walking. I was there on a weekend and there was a lot of "entertainment" that had nothing directly to do with furniture and home decor. Families with children probably have a harder time here than with the impulse-buy items at the supermarket checkout. Overall, though, it's recommendable, even compared to other furniture stores.

We had a kitchen design consultation. The consultation was beyond terrible. The consultant was incredibly rude and clearly annoyed with us because he mentioned that he actually had the day off, which was completely out of our hands. When we mentioned the price (which was more than reasonable for a design, even compared to several other kitchen studios), he immediately said he didn't think he could put anything together for that price. Throughout the entire consultation, he made it abundantly clear that we weren't welcome. At the end, when it came to the price, he pressured us to buy immediately without giving us a chance to step back and discuss it with him. After we finished and talked to my boyfriend's sister, we learned that when she had also wanted a kitchen consultation there, she wasn't even offered one because she supposedly had too low a budget, even though it was significantly higher than ours, and she had easily received a consultation at a smaller kitchen studio (which should actually be more expensive) with that budget. I don't understand how anyone can be so rude to their potential customers.

For years I bought small items here and generally had a pretty good impression of Höffner. BUT I wouldn't order any larger pieces of furniture here. My advice is: check the purchase contract very carefully! If there's anything in it that wasn't agreed upon, ask about it immediately. Because as long as everything goes smoothly – you're lucky. But as soon as problems arise – good luck :-/ You're constantly chasing after them, departments don't communicate properly with each other, and you're not informed about important things and terms and conditions, or everyone says something different – and the customer has to deal with it. From the moment you get to customer service, no one looks at your individual case or shows any consideration, because you've already been through so much. You're given a curt, impersonal response, referred to the fine print in the terms and conditions, and made to feel like a burden that no one wants to deal with anymore. I don't know if it's really the employees' fault or more the company's policies. In the end, it's just a waste of time, money, and nerves. In this case, I cannot recommend the entire Höffner setup, from the purchase contract to the workshop and customer service.

The furniture store is large and offers a huge selection. The consultation process is also good (although over time you get the feeling that the more questions you ask, the more you're getting on the sales staff's nerves). Unfortunately, the sales transaction process is not recommended and disappointing for such a large retailer: 1. Payment by credit or debit card is not possible upon delivery. This is not mentioned beforehand during the sales process. Ultimately, cash payment is the only option for larger sums! 2. Bonus points, offered as a courtesy during sales negotiations, are blocked for months without any notification or explanation. The process of redeeming the points is also (presumably intentionally) bureaucratic and requires several inquiries with customer service and activation codes by mail, which take a long time to arrive. Conclusion: Don't fall for the bonus points! Make sure you have enough cash at home for delivery. Be prepared for somewhat "annoyed" sales staff.

Zero stars, actually!!! Zero service, and unfortunately, the software and cash register system are stuck in the Dark Ages. We would have liked to buy or order two mattresses for a few hundred euros, but you can only order them in the respective department, where there was no staff available. No luck at the central information desk, even with the item number. Oh well! We'll just go to the more flexible competition. And IF you're lucky enough to be able to order something in the department, you get a ton of paperwork (a pass, A38) and are sent to the information desk, where you get more paperwork to collect, then you're allowed to go to the checkout (to pay), and then at the collection point in the back to pick up your item (if it's in stock) and get even more paperwork. A Stone Age store!

I saw the perfect armchair for me at my cousin's house. A Hukla TV recliner in XL, meaning with an extended headrest, deeper seat, and a longer footrest on a star base. So today we drove to Höffner in Rösrath to get some advice on how much this armchair would cost in my desired configuration. We even brought along the headrest from our Hukla sofa, since I wanted the same fabric. We arrived at the TV recliner display and immediately found a consultant. I explained my requirements to him. The answer: "Hukla doesn't make one in your size. I can show you a leather armchair here that would fit." My mention that I had already sat in such a chair was dismissed with "it doesn't exist." We left immediately, because I didn't want a bulky, old-fashioned leather armchair. We then went to a competitor, where a very helpful consultant calculated the exact model I wanted, with my preferred fabric. So it is possible... just not at Höffner. That's a shame, because I actually appreciated Höffner for its large selection.

I was at Möbel Höffner today because I intended to plan a new kitchen. My goal was to gather information beforehand about appliances like refrigerators, ovens, cooktops, and microwave combinations, so I could bring specific ideas to my later planning appointment. In the kitchen department, I initially wandered around a couple of times, looking at several kitchens and appliances. I noticed that several salespeople were standing around chatting casually, seemingly with nothing to do. When I finally approached one of the employees to ask a few questions about the displayed appliances, I received only the curt reply: "No, I don't have time for that right now. Please schedule an appointment online." That was it—no explanation, no attempt to accommodate me, not even briefly to help. I would have completely understood if they had been busy. But it was 10:30 in the morning, the department was empty, and it certainly wouldn't have taken them ten minutes to answer some basic questions. Instead, I had the feeling they simply didn't want to deal with me. That's a real shame – because first impressions count. Anyone interested in a kitchen in this price range expects at least a minimum level of customer interest. I'll therefore have my kitchen designed elsewhere.

Yesterday I bought a sofa, a floor lamp, and a rug for my daughter there again. The salesperson from the upholstery department was friendly and competent, followed by the salesperson from the lighting department. And, most notably, the nice lady at the checkout—it couldn't be better! My only criticism is that some furniture from the same manufacturer is a bit cheaper at a competitor, despite all the discounts advertised at Höffner. If they were to cut corners a bit, that would be great! Unfortunately, you get the impression that you're being taken for a ride!

I was in the store to plan a kitchen for my daycare center. From the beginning, I clearly stated that I needed a written quote to submit to the authorities. I also clearly stated my budget right from the start, including the information that this was my absolute upper limit. Nevertheless, they then spent almost three hours planning a kitchen whose final price was over 150% over my budget. It was a simple L-shaped kitchen without upper cabinets, so nothing particularly fancy. The employee initially quoted me a price well above my budget, then gave me a discount of €10,000 "as a gesture of goodwill," which was still significantly too expensive. After a phone call with his supervisor, he finally agreed on a "final price" that was still almost a third over my budget. I then asked if they could offer me a variant within my budget. Since I had already been there for over three hours, I asked for the new quote to be sent to me via email. I then received the reply that prices are generally not given in writing without a signed purchase agreement. If I ran out of time, I would have to make another appointment to plan with the other cabinets. This was completely incomprehensible to me, as the purpose of my visit—a written quote—had been discussed from the beginning. Even more incomprehensible was why I was shown kitchen cabinets and appliances far beyond my budget, even though the budget had been clearly communicated from the start. I had the impression that, as a customer, I was being deliberately manipulated through obvious "price and discount games" and artificial negotiation scenes that seemed more unpleasant than convincing. I lost a total of five hours of time as a result (including travel to and from the store) and ended up without a realistic quote. Overall, a very disappointing and frustrating experience. I would have liked to see more transparency, fairness, and customer focus, especially if you talk openly and honestly about your financial options from the beginning.

UPDATE FROM OCTOBER 2025: After a pleasant interaction with customer service, we found a good solution, with which I am extremely satisfied. Hence the 4 stars. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't good. I drove 150km to this Höffner store because the product wasn't available for immediate collection at my nearby Höffner. Both the nearby Höffner and a call to the Höffner in Cologne confirmed that I could collect the product the next day after purchase. The next day, I discovered that this was unfortunately not possible, as the warehouse is closed on Saturdays. The salesperson then advertised free home delivery, as if it were a benefit. But it wasn't. I went along with it, so he told me I could expect delivery of the furniture on June 20th. He could see this in the system. The purchase contract stated 14 days. Now it turns out that this isn't the case at all, and I'll have to wait several more weeks. I will no longer support behavior that isn't honest and customer-oriented.

About four weeks ago, I ordered a sofa from Höffner, but the initial delivery date was missed. Even though I had taken time off work specifically for this. When I contacted customer service, I received a rude response. It was still within the correct delivery deadline, but they showed zero understanding for taking that day off work specifically for me, and they were also completely unwilling to accommodate me. In other words, customer service was really poor. Then the sofa was delivered, and the delivery service simply wanted me to pay €50 in cash for carrying it upstairs, even though the delivery was included. A real rip-off!

I've been going to Gourmet ever since I was a teenager in Rösrath. To this day, it's a regular meeting place for our family for birthdays. We enjoy the wonderfully personal service and, of course, the fantastic food. Anyone who appreciates hearty, high-quality, and beautifully presented food should definitely pay Gourmet a visit. For me, it's the best restaurant in Rösrath. My tip: the lunch menu is a great deal! We, the Feike family, are proud of Ali and his team at Gourmet.

The food is hearty and good, but there aren't really many options for vegetarians. It's a shame there aren't a few tasty alternatives to meat! Okay, they do have potato pancakes, but… The service is really friendly, a true pub experience.
