MOAMOA Café & koreanische Esskultur in Berlin

This is hands-down one of the best restaurants in this neighborhood. It has a limited menu but that doesn't matter because all of the food is fresh, tasty, and reasonable. The staff is super friends, especially toward children. (For expats: the staff can speak English.)

Moa Moa Café is a small, cute Korean café with a very cozy and lovingly designed atmosphere. Perfect for a little break with friends or to relax alone. You order and pay directly at the counter, which makes the process easy. The waitress was very friendly during our visit and helpfully advised us on any questions we had about the menu. The food was truly delicious – we had Korean toast and small sweet snacks, among other things, which were freshly prepared and tasted amazing. Everything was also beautifully presented, as you would expect from a Korean café. What surprised us a bit, however, were the prices. The dishes, and especially the drinks, are quite expensive – we would have expected somewhat lower prices for a small self-service café. The taste was good, but with regular visits, you'll quickly notice a difference in your wallet. Nevertheless, anyone who enjoys that Korean café feel will feel at home here. Moa Moa Café offers a nice selection, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere. It's especially worth a visit for fans of Korean street food and trendy drinks. It would be nice if it were a little cheaper, but for the quality and ambiance, it's definitely worth a visit every now and then. I'll definitely be back – I'd love to try the classic dessert, bingsu! Soooo delicious!

Best gimbap i’ve tried, very fresh!

It’s simply the best korean Place in Berlin.

The gimbap is great, the freshness of the kimchi is outstanding. The cappuccino is also available with oat milk. A small, fine shop... Authentic, like a new-style Korean café. A bit stuffy, but no big deal. One employee is often in a bad mood and sometimes makes you feel unwelcome. The other employee is much nicer, and you can tell she doesn't like her colleague. Update 7/10/25: Prices have skyrocketed... I wanted to have lunch here again yesterday with my daughter, but they've tripled the prices at MOAMOA within three years... We were really shocked by the prices. For example, €15.90 for a portion of gimbap borders on extortion in my opinion and is totally excessive given the overall impression and appearance of the café. I think it's a shame... But even I can't talk myself into believing the prices are any better, and I'll probably stay away in the future.

I wanted to eat noodles, so I ordered garak noodles, and it was delicious even on a hot summer day! I personally think the egg custard was a great kick. The omija tea was refreshing and sour, so it went well together👍🏻 The atmosphere was great, and all the staff were friendly. I would 200% visit again!

My new favorite cafe 😍 The food is very authentic and there's a great selection! The gimbap is highly recommended, and you should definitely try the bingsu :) There are a few tables, but in the summer you can also sit outside.

Really expensive. A 3cm fish-shaped cake with a bit of chocolate for €2? Buldak for €15? You can get them at Asian restaurants for €1.90. The atmosphere was like the cheapest garden chairs from Ikea. But the service was very nice.

Very tasty food, especially the large dishes were convincing. The staff was also very nice and accommodating, you almost have the feeling of being a guest of a Korean family.

Gimbap with the best quality in Berlin I can highly recommend the gimbap with beef or tuna. It's more expensive than other shops, but the quality of the food is better and the amount of rice in Gimbap is significantly smaller than in other restaurants. You can eat there or take the gimbap with you.

Great little shop, friendly owners, good food

I was really hungry, so I took a quick shot of misutgaru and ate garak noodles and tuna kimbap. First of all, Garak Noodles is a high-end version of the taste you get at Korean rest areas. Perhaps the reason these noodles feel luxurious is because of the beauty of Zidane...? The tuna kimbap also had good details in each ingredient. Zidane is big. The degree of doneness is also even. Would you like to eat tuna kimbap for the same money? Even if you ask 100 times, even if you buy it for one day, it's tuna kimbap 101 times. Crople shaved ice and bungeoppang have great details. I liked the sweet bitterness that came from every spoonful of the matcha shaved ice with a generous helping of green tea spread. And the combination of crople and brown cheese is the all-time best. I felt good after my first meal. :)

I'm so lucky that the cafe/restaurant is near me! I am always amazed by the food, quality and taste! Especially the bingsu in summer, but also the kimbap is a good option. I always enjoy coming here.

I discovered the restaurant after my Korean vacation and the food here is very authentic and delicious. Definitely worth a visit. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff are very loving and friendly.

I can't understand the numerous 5-star reviews. I don't think the price-performance ratio is good. The brownie for 5 euros was outrageously small. Drinks were forgotten twice in a row. The atmosphere was too chaotic for me personally and I found the café too narrow and uncomfortable. For us as a group, the orders all came at different times, so we couldn't eat together. I won't come again. But the staff was very nice :-)

The food was delicious and great for a small appetite. Unfortunately the bimbap was too cold for our taste. And the door in the restaurant was open the whole time, which made it very drafty and we sat in the café with our jackets on. Otherwise it was a nice stay! Note: the toilet doesn't work, who knows when it will be repaired.

Small portions and pretty basic

Little Korean gem in Friedenau. Small but delicious menu, both savory and sweet options. Nailed the Korean stylish but relaxed atmosphere. Love the newly added hot soup option for grey Berlin winter days. Dog friendly too.

What stands out here is simply the interesting food. Everything else can be neglected. The prices are “still” reasonable.

Had an order of gimbap. It was very fresh and tasty! Perfection in a seaweed roll. Very nice atmosphere for regulars and newcomers, friendly staff. They had outdoor and indoor seating. I will be back to try the sweets next time.

I ordered and ate kimbap during my business trip to IFA. It was absolutely fantastic. The combination of fresh vegetables and ingredients was the best.

I was disappointed to find that the price of the bingsu had increased to €11.9, while the amount of ingredients, especially the red bean paste, had been reduced. It didn’t taste the same as before, and I felt let down by the change.

Perfect location (in a slightly quieter corner of Steglitz), not too crowded, offers really excellent Asian cuisine (waiters multilingual)

The seasoning of the kimbap is not right. More salt and sesame oil should be added. The inside is filled with the smell of bungeoppang dough. Not pleasant at all as a guest. Looks like it needs improvement. The overall price is on the high side, but I would be satisfied if the portions were adjusted accordingly.

The Korean café has a few seats inside, but if the weather is nice you can sit outside. We had bibimbap and a kids bowl with rice, egg and tofu. Very fresh ingredients, great sauces to dose yourself, homemade drinks. All recommended! When we were there, the book bus was at the door and had a program for children. This way you can spend the (really short) waiting time.

These were the very best gimbap I've eaten so far (I haven't been to Korea yet...but I've been to Japan, there's a lot of Korean food)! They were with tuna - super tasty, not dry and with lots of filling). This review is for this takeaway meal only. update: I was also in the cafe now. I had gimbap again, my wife had bibmibap and a green tea tiramisu for desert... everything was super tasty. The service is very friendly. Everything great!

Visited for the first time and for now only for dessert (bingsu), and was not disappointed! The portions are big, so make sure to go with somebody to share with and the taste was refreshing and delicious. The service was very friendly. Very cute Korean cafe! The atmosphere there is nice. All the food there is good and they have both sweet and savory food.. bingsu, gimbap, croffles, bibimbap, iced americano and so on. You can also order takeout. Only downsides are the prices. I personally find them a bit high but I still like going there once in a while.

The food was delicious and authentic. I ate the noodle soup and the broth was seasoned perfectly. Considering the price, the portions were great. The service is very, very friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy, minimalist and inviting. I recommend everyone to stop by here!

The food is very up my alley. I went twice and I would gladly visit them again. We ordered the Einspänner Coffee, Beef Kimbap, Brunost Croffle and the Konkgaru. I would recommend all of the ordered dishes. The Bibimbap last time was good too. In the summer you can sit outside, but there will be a lot of green stuff falling from the trees. I wouldn't recommend going with a big group since the cafe is half full most of the time and not that big. Disclaimer: Don't or use the toilet with care since it gets clogged easily. The toilet paper needs to be thrown in the trash bin like in South Korea as well...

The croffel and yuzu drink came quickly and were delicious! Sweet atmosphere with nice employees. ^^ Recommended for desserts, the drink was probably a bit steep, I've never fully understood the fact that my tea is diluted/cooled with ice. 🥴

Very nice little edge cafe restaurant. Typically Korean, the owners manage to create a unique and cozy atmosphere. You would like to stay here longer. There is also delicious and authentic food. We were definitely very satisfied.

Bibimbap, shaved ice, udon, and kimbap are all really delicious, and they are always friendly and helpful whether you take your kids with you or are alone. I think I've been there more than ten times. The shaved ice is not just shaved ice, it’s really delicious. If the weather is nice, the outside seating is great, and the bus library comes right in front of the cafe every Tuesday. I love that I can borrow books and board games for free. Please do this for a long time.

A new Korean restaurant and café in beautiful Friedenau. The dishes are freshly prepared, savory as well as sweet dishes are always prepared to our complete satisfaction and taste 1 a. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend this restaurant if you fancy delicious Korean specialties.

Saw this Small Korean cafe while travelling on the bus one day and decided to visit it. Had a croffle with ice cream(kongkaru) and a roasted soybean drink(miss karu), it was my first time trying soybean dessert and drinks and I was pleasantly surprised. The drink was thick but perfectly for the cold day and the croffle was freshly made, buttery and crispy and went really well with the ice cream. On the way out, I also grabbed a taiyaki(the fish shaped sweets) and that was also delicious! Definitely one to visit again!

Quite small but very cute cafe! In terms of price, the food is sometimes a bit more expensive, but it is also very tasty! The matcha tiramisu is highly recommended, very airy and light! the mango bingsu was also very tasty.

Sehr schönes und gemütliches Cafe. Wir haben die süßen Speisen probiert und zwei Getränke bestellt. Alles sehr lecker und der Service auch mega lieb. Ein Besuch lohnt sich!

Wir haben einfach fast alles ausprobiert und es war mega lecker! Die Mitarbeiter sind auch total nett und haben uns die Tayaki aufgewärmt und kann die mit Nutella sehr empfehlen.

A cute & cozy korean cafe with nice, calm music. I had mango Bingsu and it tasted soo good, not too sweet the perfect sweetness, refreshing and filling. A bit too pricy for me but better than Bingsu prices in other cafes. Friendly workers.

個人覺得是Steglitz一帶排名前三的韓式料理！熱烏龍麵配上魚板，味道偏清淡，很好吃滿喜歡的。韓式飯捲的部分，包了與傳統韓式飯捲不同的配菜，味道也不錯😋

Wir gingen mit meinem Freundin, ich weiß nicht, ob es an unserem Alter oder am Kopftuch meines Freundins lag, aber das Personal war nicht höflich. Das Essen war köstlich, aber einige der Grüns waren ungeschnitten und nicht frisch und ich fand war ein bisschen teuer

I had the tofu Bibimbap. It was okay but the tofu wasn’t really marinated and it was generally not much food. If you come hungry, I would say that you might want to order some of their extra. The kimchi and all the other pickled vegetables were very well seasoned!! Really enjoyed the mushrooms, carrots and kimchi!! Had the matcha tiramisu afterwards which I wasn’t very impressed by. Couldn’t taste much matcha in the cream, it was mainly cake unfortunately. Also tried the fishcakes. I honestly didn’t like it much- for the light ones, the red bean paste was super sweet and the matcha one had Nutella as filling which overpowered the matcha. Don’t think it’s necessary to add matcha in it. All in all, the service was great, super nice people and putting lots of love and care of their products. It is obvious that they love what they do and treat it carefully.
