Miramar Chemnitz in Chemnitz

Bei leider regnerischem Wetter haben wir in Familie (35-90 Jahre) einen tollen Abend mit Blick über den Schlossteich und den Park gehabt. Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Alle Tische waren besetzt und das Servicepersonal war trotzdem sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Besonderer Dank an Frau Kunze! Der Matjestatar war köstlich-wir haben uns zu 7. 2 Portionen geteilt und bekamen ungebeten Extrateller und Besteck, danke!. Deutsche Küche haben wir erwartet und bekamen wir auch mit interessanten Ideen, z. Bsp. Sauerkrautkroketten oder mediterrane Käseknödel. Die Zunge wurde von knackigem Gemüse flankiert, die knusprige Haxe von klassischemSauerkraut begleitet. Das überbackene Schweinerückensteak war lecker, die Matjes nach Hausfrauenart köstlich. Einzig der Pullt Jack Fruit Burger war nicht so toll. Aber: als wir den Geschmack als zu sauer bemängelt haben, entschuldigte sich die Küche und das Gericht wurde von der Rechnung genommen. Sehr fair! Wir haben alles aufgegessen und kommen sicher wieder.

Sehr schöne Gaststätte mit Blick auf den Schlossteich und auf Chemnitz. Sehr freundliches Bedienungspersonal,guter Service in der Gaststätte und im Biergarten. Das Essen ist schmackhaft und gut zubereitet. Keine lange Wartezeit. Wir waren mit dem Service sehr zufrieden. Dieses Lokal kann man ohne Bedenken weiter empfehlen.

Yesterday, 45 of us went to a class reunion, and even though the restaurant was fully booked with multiple parties and reservations, we had great servers, prompt service, and easy reordering options. It was fantastic. The food came quickly, the service was impeccable, and it was delicious. We never felt like we were being kicked out, even though we sat together for a long time. Many thanks to the entire Miramar team 😊

Delicious food and great views.

As a single guest, you're practically sent home before you even get to the reception. You're only allowed to sit for an hour because they're fully booked, and even if ordering and serving takes 20 minutes, you have to quickly eat on the summer terrace and then leave. I explicitly emphasized that I was from outside the area and on a business trip. The receptionist seemed indifferent. It's a shame that hospitality was lacking.

We took a spontaneous trip to Chemnitz and ate at our favorite restaurant. The service was excellent. The food was plentiful and very good. The view is incredible. You can see the castle pond through the trees.

There were five of us eating today. The service was good. But the food was unfortunately no longer what you would expect for the price. The fries were way too salty. The steak au four had hardly any seasoning on it, and that for over €20. The Cuba Libre had far too much lime juice, which was far too sour. After complaining, we got the same drink again. It's a shame. The women's restrooms were also very dirty. I'm not used to this kind of restaurant. We are very disappointed, especially with a bill of €200.

A great restaurant with a beautiful view of the Schlossberg. The service was friendly and attentive. Orders were served promptly. Hence, it gets full marks. Unfortunately, the dishes didn't meet our expectations. Fried dumplings, for example, could have been served separately rather than drowned in soggy sauce. The fish (gurnard) smelled bad from a distance, which shouldn't be the case with fish. Those are just two examples.

Die Stärke des Miramar ist seine Lage auf dem Schlossberg mit Blick über den Karpfenteich. Der Biergarten ist schön gestaltet; die Innenräume sind auch gemütlich. Die Speisekarte ist sehr umfangreich, konzentriert sich aber auf deutsche/sächsische Küche mit ein paar DDR-Klassikern und einigen internationalen Gerichten, darunter auch Veganem. Die Portionen sind gewaltig, und kaum jemand aus unserer Gruppe hat es geschafft, seinen Teller zu leeren. Die Qualität leidet jedoch unter der Quantität. Hier ein paar Schlaglichter: Die Knödelgröstel bestehen aus Haxenfleisch in Schwarzbiersauce mit gebräunten Knödelscheiben und Sauerkraut. Ungefähr die Hälfte des Haxenfleischs ist okay, während die andere Hälfte mit einer Schwarte bedeckt ist, die aber nicht knusprig ist, sondern labberig und durchgeweicht von der Sauce. Die Knödelscheiben sind hart und gummiartig; und das Sauerkraut schmeckt so seltsam, dass es kaum genießbar ist. FAZIT: Besser nicht bestellen! Die Roulade wird hier als Geschnetzeltes serviert, gebadet in dickflüssiger Sauce, die auch Speck, Zwiebeln und Gurke enthält. Nennt sich "Hausfrauenart", aber die Hausfrau rollt die Rouladen und brät sie knusprig braun. Das Geschnetzelte ist leider ebenfalls keine Empfehlung. Der Hamburger (um mal ein internationales Gericht zu nennen) ist langweilige Standardkost. Bekommt man an den meisten Imbissbuden besser, von Hamburger-Restaurants gar nicht zu sprechen. Das Elsässer Schnitzel ist ebenfalls eine riesige Portion, die mit üppig (Holländer!) Käse überbacken ist. Sehr schwere Kost. Aber bevor Ihr denkt, dass ich alles schlechtmachen will, ein Lichtblick: Die Soljanka ist wirklich gut, mit schöner Wurst (kein Wochenrückblick), frischen Zitronenscheiben und saurer Sahne. Selbst die Vorspeisenportion ist bereits sehr üppig, und es gibt für einen kleinen Aufpreis auch eine Portion zum Sattwerden. Ist vielleicht die bessere Wahl als ein Fleischgericht. Mein Fazit: Die Speisekarte enthält viele Gerichte aus der Hausmannskost, die aber sämtlich nicht wirklich schmackhaft sind. Alles ist hier irgendwie zu viel und zu schwer und zu grob. Kein wirklicher Genuss. Aber vielleicht reicht ja auch eine Soljanka, um bei einem Biergartenerlebnis etwas in den Magen zu bekommen

They were understanding, and after a short wait, they made sure we were able to eat and drink together within 45 minutes (despite the beer garden being packed). Delicious food (Saxon Sauerbraten with gingerbread sauce) in a wonderful atmosphere and with a fantastic view. Overall, the service was very pleasant and helpful.

The ambiance and the beer garden are really great. The service is friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn't really appeal to me. It tasted a bit too salty, and everything on the plate had the same flavor. The people at my table weren't that impressed with the food either. But I would come back for a relaxing drink in the beer garden.

We were invited to a party with children! The children had schnitzel with chips and peas, unfortunately the dish wasn't quite as described, what a shame. We also waited over an hour for the food, which is a bit unreasonable. One dish was missing and no one mentioned it at first. 10 minutes later another waiter came with a completely different dish. We then made it clear that it wasn't the dish, but the waiter left without saying whether we could get the missing food. We then had to speak to another waitress and 5 minutes later the food finally arrived. Overall the food was okay, unfortunately nothing special but good quality. What speaks for the restaurant is the beautiful location and the activities outside for the children, which makes it quite attractive, but I think there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Simply amazing! Especially with children. Delicious food, beautiful surroundings, great view, friendly waiters, fast service even when the place was full. And what was absolutely fantastic: the child got pasta with sausage goulash in a separate gravy boat because it was unclear whether it would taste good – you can't get that anywhere else (except at Pelzmühle). Come here and enjoy Chemnitz!

Always new and for so many years, the Miramar remains one of the most beautiful beer gardens in Germany. There's truly nothing to complain about.

We arrived from Nordhausen on a day trip by coach. The staff were very well prepared for our arrival, despite the somewhat larger number of guests. In the restaurant, beautifully situated in the park, tables were set for us in a tastefully decorated and lovingly designed room. Drinks were quickly ordered, and everyone received their food at the same time. Several staff members were attentive to our well-being, so everything tasted and was enjoyed. The restaurant and the outdoor areas are beautifully designed and well-maintained. It's a pleasure to linger here. For me, this is what experiential dining is all about! Everything was very clean, and the restrooms also had a certain chic feel! We'd love to go back with more time! There is one criticism, however. Since we were a larger group, perhaps they could have turned off the background music. The music was a bit annoying.

Always worth a visit, especially in summer when the weather is nice

Tuesday is knuckle day, so go there with a real appetite. Then you'll really get your money's worth. The restaurant is a lovely destination close to the city center.

We were passing through and AI showed us the place 😆. It was a bullseye. I couldn't eat the whole portion of pork knuckle, it was so huge. The portions are very tasty and if you don't eat much, I recommend 1 portion for 2 people 😀. Very nice and helpful service. There were a lot of reservations but they managed to find us a place inside because it was already a bit chilly for the garden. I highly recommend it

We are passing from Spain to Poland. We chose the Miramar restaurant in the park. Great food, very nice service. There were no free seats but they found a way for us to sit down and fed us abundantly "very abundantly". Laura, who served us, was great OK. The prices were reasonable and the dishes were huge. WE RECOMMEND

Yes, if you like freshly cooked Chinese food, there's nothing to complain about. We were at the concert at the trade fair and wanted to get something to eat beforehand, so we came across the Chinese restaurant in the industrial park. There were snack options at the trade fair, but no seating. Chemnitz forgot the benches at the trade fair. I recommend Miramar.

Great restaurant, would love to come back again

Unfortunately, we didn't feel very comfortable. The ambiance is a big factor, but the service and food were mediocre to unsatisfactory. Drinks took forever to arrive, and the quality of the food was more comparable to that of a cafeteria than a restaurant. It's a shame. Maybe things will be better next time.

The food was once again delicious. The service was friendly. However, it was difficult to find a wheat-free salad alternative for my companion (everything came with a baguette). In general, the room, overlooking the castle pond, is very cramped and accordingly noisy.

Very good service paired with good beer and good food in a pleasant atmosphere. Always happy to come back. The solyanka and the 140-proof beer are especially popular.

Everything was okay, we all (6 people) had asparagus dishes. Unfortunately the asparagus was overcooked and far too soft.

We were there on Monday for “girls’ night”. A strawberry beer punch is offered with every main course. Unfortunately, the drink is alcoholic and there is no non-alcoholic version on offer. In this day and age, this is particularly progressive and tempts guests to drink alcohol. However, the service is good and very friendly. Food is also good and there are many vegetarian dishes.

Very nice restaurant, good service, unfortunately the food was very bad. There were 16 of us, most of whom were very dissatisfied. Schnitzel could hardly be cut, sauerbraten (20.00 euros) very dry, very little sauce and cold red cabbage.

There were three of us with a dog, it was the afternoon and we were craving coffee and cake. We were assigned a table with the information that this table would be reserved in an hour. We accepted that, briefly looked at the selection of cakes in the display case, then sat down at the table and waited. And waited. And waited. After a full quarter of an hour in which we were consistently ignored or couldn't even make eye contact with the (numerous!!!) service staff, I finally managed to lure an attentive trainee to our table. We asked him to let us place our order. He politely said he was only allowed to take drink orders, but would immediately forward our order request, which is what happened, as we observed. Time was running out...as I said, we only had a total of an hour, but now it was only 40 minutes. Then the following happened: the waiter, who had been pointed out to us, walked past us (several times!) without even looking at us, let alone taking our order... Our mood was at zero, we could no longer imagine getting our order, receiving it and enjoying it in a relaxed manner in the remaining time - so we decided to leave this location immediately, which is what we did. Too bad! And now my questions: was it me (southern appearance), was it the dog or do they generally not like guests willing to pay?

A beautiful location in itself, with a great inside and outside area. The food, however, is catastrophic. It's cold. There isn't even sauce with croquettes. The meat is dry and completely cooked and not juicy. Fries and vegetables from the freezer. It's a real shame... the waiters could have been a bit nicer. If it's cheap food then at least it has to be cheap.

Wir waren mit Freunden essen. Das Essen war mangelhaft einer unserer Freunde hatte Kalbshaxe bestellt mit Sauerkraut wo das Sauerkraut alles andere als das war und die Kalbshaxe war auch sehr mangelhaft zubereitet. Außerdem hatte man das Gefühl das das Personal total neben sich stand als es um die Abrechnung ging vergaß der Kellner total das Wechselgeld zurück zu geben. Sehr Unaufmerksam. Wir waren echt unzufrieden und hoffen das es eine Ausnahme war.

One of the most beautiful restaurants in Chemnitz, The table was too small for 2 people despite a 2 week reservation. Beer selection could be more sophisticated. Kellerbier is not offered and Einsiedler is not the best beer. Otherwise we were very satisfied.

Yesterday we had dinner in Miramar with a larger group with a small child. Restaurant was not crowded, as was often the case during the week. The service was great. My child was hungry, so we made sure she got her food earlier. Waited… waited… nothing came. The waiter came over to ask if everything was okay. I said again that the food would be nice for the little one (it should be rice pudding without sugar). She had her plate placed in front of her two minutes before us. She immediately grabbed the spoon and burned her mouth because it was hot (partly my fault, I should have been more careful). The rice pudding was very sweet and had huge grapes on it. The child is one year old...So all the guests listened to her cry again until I calmed her down and she wanted to touch the food again. When asked why the rice pudding was sweet, the answer was “there was definitely sugar in it.” If rice pudding was made from tetra packs and not cooked in-house, why did it take so long to heat up and be so hot? I would prefer to be told that it is not possible without sugar. And for your information: swallowing such huge grapes can mean death for children of that age... Of course, I immediately took them out and cut them... I thought then that probably no one has children or doesn't think about what it's like. But it went further: there is a nice indoor playroom with a slide, but older children end up in the passage. So when guests go in or out, you should expect a child to roll from the side in front of your feet... Changing room was the worst cherry on the cake. The changing plate was at my chest height. Luckily I have a girl whose boy would probably look like a diaper change like “pee in the face”. The paper rolls set up in them are also great for the child, you can take them out and pick them around, it was a lot of fun, but not for the mother, who was trying to keep her child on her back and change the diaper. And everything at height... Restaurant itself is good, but not for babies and very small children. When setting it up, no one thought of this or didn't think it through... To anyone who was there yesterday: I'm sorry if my child ruined the mood of your evening. She was hungry and when food finally arrived, it was hot.

If the rest of the restaurant is cleaned as often as the game room, then hallelujah.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated, the large window facade is great. The menu offers something for every taste at fair prices. We were served very friendly and attentive. The food was really good, Postkutscher Schnitzel and half a duck (consisting of two duck legs!?) were of excellent quality and taste, and the portion size was more than sufficient. Conclusion: great restaurant, we'll be back :-)

Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet, top ist die große Fensterfassade. Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas zu fairen Preisen. Bedient wurden wir sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war richtig gut, Postkutscher Schnitzel und die halbe Ente (bestehend aus zwei Entenkeulen!?) waren qualitativ und geschmacklich bestens, die Portionsgröße war mehr als ausreichend. Fazit: tolles Restaurant, wir kommen wieder :-)

You can sit here comfortably high above the castle pond and have a wonderful view or sit in a beautiful ambience. The food tastes excellent, no matter what you order. So the chef knows his craft. We made reservations in advance, which is certainly advisable because when we were here at lunchtime on Saturday, all the tables were occupied. The surroundings invite you to linger, and the Miramar clearly benefits from this, especially in summer. The staff is careful, friendly and quick. Price-performance is very good. Recommended.

Nice place and restaurant....unfortunately I don't know the restaurant's dishes myself because I've never eaten there before, but I've been there a few times for the public viewing when the European Championship/World Cup was on....that's why I can say that it's a really nice place, especially in summer...but from that point of view, in my opinion, the whole Schloßteich area with the castle, Miramar, etc. is very nice and inviting, be it for relaxing, eating out or anything else...great

Super nice restaurant, with great, unusual and, above all, delicious food. On Mondays there is even a black beer punch with every main course at the girls' evening. The service was really great, very nice, accommodating and always friendly. The furnishings are very tasteful and cozy. It was a very nice evening.

Restaurant to visit under no circumstances

Ok, but there's still something going on. Service was very nice and quick. The knuckle was served with small dumplings and sauerkraut. Plus mustard and horseradish cream. The knuckle wasn't crispy on the outside, I would have liked the sauce to be stronger and more and the mustard sauce on the decorative vegetables mixed with everything on the side. Rather unfavorable for someone who doesn't like mustard.

One of our favorite restaurants in Chemnitz. Traditional German food is served here with diverse international hired help. I recommend the pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe).

I invited my daughter to dinner. The drinks we ordered: Cola and blackcurrant spritzer were non-carbonated and not chilled. The food: two steak au four with fries was no more than “okay”. Only one meal was served - with the note: “The second one is coming soon”. 5 minutes later the waitress came and said that a mistake had been made and that she could keep the steak warm until the second meal was ready. After another wait, two steak au four arrived. Meat tough, ketchup and mayo in plastic bag, no place to put the packaging except on the table. 46 euros later I was so disappointed that we left the restaurant after an hour. We won't be coming back!
