As promised, here are warm greetings from Zwickau. We went for a walk around the castle pond today in beautiful weather and then stumbled upon your wonderful restaurant. We received incredibly friendly service and sat outside. My husband enjoyed half a duck, which was delicious. I had the pumpkin curry soup. Mmmmmm, delicious! I also had to take a look around the entire restaurant. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend it.

The birthday celebration was noticeably enhanced by the kind, hardworking, and extremely friendly staff. We were more than pleasantly surprised, and therefore a heartfelt "thank you"! Keep up the good work!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with dessert here on our wedding anniversary. Friendly service and a lovely, bright ambiance. We'd happily recommend it.

Quite expensive for relatively modest portions (e.g., almost €20 for two very small slices of beef tongue with two potatoes and a bit of vegetables—more like a child's portion size). The roast duck is far too fatty, and unfortunately, the preen gland is still attached to the meat, which often makes the duck taste rancid...

But the chef was very cooperative in explaining the ingredients and cooking method when we asked. The staff was very cooperative and the atmosphere was calm and wonderful. There is a small room for children with some toys. The prices were very reasonable. I will definitely visit again.

I was here with our club on a bus. There were 45 of us. We distributed a menu on the bus beforehand and shared our requests. We were served promptly. The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and very competent. We would gladly go back anytime.

Good, solid food, albeit a somewhat limited selection for vegetarians. The service was excellent, super friendly, and fast. For parents with small children, there's a specially furnished children's room—an absolute bonus!

However, you have to walk a few meters to get to the restaurant, and parking can sometimes be difficult to find, depending on the time of day.

It's been two years since I gave a very good review for a visit to the Miramar, full of praise. Today, four of us were here again and were actually quite disappointed. The food was definitely no longer as tasty and lovingly prepared and served as it was back then. Burgers (jackfruit or something) aside, you should at least have the opportunity to eat them properly. But that's just a side note. Of course, you can't always expect the staff to be in a good mood, but if you don't really feel like serving, then you're probably better off not doing it. And to accuse guests of having been "accosted" when they ask questions isn't a particularly pleasant situation either! Not to mention the standard of service. Indeed, not very nice! We had asked if we could have a dish without meat, and it actually seemed to be absolutely no problem. We were pleased, because in some restaurants, they either refuse or point out that it doesn't affect the price. The bill showed the full price for the meal without any further information! When we asked about this, we actually received the ridiculous answer that we should have had more dumpling slices on our plate. What a cheap argument, especially since I definitely had the same amount of dumpling slices on my plate. The way the staff literally dismissed us is also not exactly the standard of an appealing type of restaurant. If we had been informed about this when ordering, it would have been OK, or we would have ordered something else. But the way it was handled is absolutely unacceptable. I know they don't rely on us as guests, but the "Miramar" is off our restaurant list for the time being. What a shame.

We decided on the spur of the moment and reserved a table for three on Friday for Sunday. The Postkutscher schnitzel was absolutely delicious, the other dishes were also excellent, the service was super friendly, and we thought the price was reasonable. We'd definitely be back!

Very bad staff (rude to customers and unfriendly), and I was thrown out of the cafe for no reason. I don't recommend anyone to visit this cafe. This happened like this: I arrived at the cafe as usual and waited at my table for someone to come and order what I wanted. I said I wanted a black tea (but please in 20 minutes, not now), meaning please bring me the tea in 20 minutes. She then told me we don't have any tea ☕️ and the other people are drinking tea and coffee!! That was 9:30 a.m. She ended up saying I didn't look good (I can stay seated). In other words, she was making fun of me, mocking me. I'm not your first customer. I always come, but this is the first time I've ever come to you. She was totally rude.

I've eaten at Miramar several times in a row in a short period of time and would like to share my experience. First of all: The restaurant is truly a visual highlight. Both inside and out, it's very tastefully decorated, the ambiance is beautiful and immediately makes you feel at home. You can tell that great attention to detail is paid here – a truly wonderful atmosphere for a relaxed meal. The service is also top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel well looked after without being intrusive. About the food: On my first visit, they had the shortened menu (+20 people). My dish was a burger, and it was tasty, but nothing special – solid, but lacking that certain something. The second time, I chose the dish in the picture and was delighted. I would especially like to highlight the drinks. They are always excellent, very varied, and creatively prepared. It's definitely worth trying the homemade lemonades – each one is a little highlight in its own right. Overall, I can absolutely recommend the Miramar – great ambiance, excellent service, and the food is worth trying a few things. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We reserved a table for dinner this week for our wedding party. We were able to easily drop off our guest gifts the day before – they were lovingly placed on the festive table on the big day. Thank you, dear Sindy, for such service that we greatly appreciated. The table was set with great attention to detail and festively decorated, and the entire team was extremely friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The food was excellent! Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience that we can only recommend. Many thanks to the entire team!

It's been a long time since we've eaten this badly. We ordered a crispy ham hock, sweet potato wedges, and a small fried pork hock. The ham hock was far from crispy. After complaining, it wasn't any better. The fried pork hock consisted of 80% flour sauce, and the fried pork hocks weren't crispy either. As compensation for the poor food, they offered us a coffee. The service and location were excellent, but the food was very poor.

Overall, the food was okay. However, my burger was, let's say, just lukewarm. The fries were very good, though. I think the price is a bit high at just under €24.

Two of us came without a reservation and found a seat. The staff were all very friendly. The ambience is very nice with your view of the pond. Especially in the evening when the sun sets in the west, very worth seeing. I ate a Postkutscherschnitzel, which was excellent in taste. It was served with “Spätzle” and a coleslaw. The coleslaw was also incredible. Unfortunately, the service was a bit laggy towards the end (it was just before closing time). We would still have liked a drink. We therefore tried a second time on another evening. Also without a reservation. We found a place for 5 people. This time in the garden. The waitress was extremely friendly and had a sense of humor. We ordered beer, which was very good. Low carbonation and tasty. We all ate the Stelze, which was also excellent. Just as you would imagine a knuckle of pork in juice in Germany. Otherwise it is prepared crispy (e.g. in Austria). All in all, the food was good, the service was much more attentive and the ambience is nice. Outside, I liked the tree with the mulled watering cans. Update: Response to the owner: The owner contacted me to ask why I only gave three stars, despite the other positive reviews. When we arrived for our first visit, it was quite late (8:30 p.m.). Fortunately, we were able to get a table without a reservation because the restaurant was very busy. After the good meal, we wanted to have more drinks. By that time, we were the only ones in the room. Perhaps there was more going on elsewhere, and we were overlooked. In any case, it seemed that way. After 20–25 minutes, we decided to pay the bill. The service was friendly, but they forgot about us. For that evening alone, I would have given two stars. The service was excellent on the second evening when we sat outside. The waiter was constantly on the move. Before our drinks were empty, he was already asking, "Would you guys like another one?" Great! The food was good too, so I'm giving it four stars. For five stars, everything has to be perfect. Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars, but that can't be awarded. Personally, I never round up, so it's three stars. If everything is good when we visit the restaurant again, which we definitely will, I'll change the overall rating. :-) I downgraded the atmosphere (the beer garden with a view) from a 5 to a 4, so now it's an 11 out of 15. Maybe that's more appropriate now. All in all, it's good and worth several visits, but not perfect (which I didn't expect).

We were delighted to be guests yesterday with a large birthday group and were thrilled. The service was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always attentive – we felt welcome and well looked after from the very first moment. The food was a real highlight: freshly prepared, delicious, and with a great selection for every taste – vegans were also fully catered for. The desserts and cakes deserve special mention; they were not only a visual delight but also a tasty treat. We highly recommend them! The outdoor area, which we unfortunately couldn't use due to the weather, has a very idyllic feel and is definitely a place to linger – we're already looking forward to experiencing it on our next visit. A big thank you to the entire team for this wonderful evening. We'd love to come back!

We didn't feel comfortable. It was as loud as a train station concourse. The food wasn't great either. My child left almost everything, and my partner wasn't satisfied with his portion (two small pieces of tongue and a potato), and on top of that, he had to pay €20 for the children's portion. We are very disappointed and won't be coming back.

We made a reservation for lunch beforehand. Since we had a small child with us, we asked if we could sit at the children's corner with the play tower. We were refused, and instead sat at a table by the wall overlooking the castle pond—not really a view because everything was overgrown by trees. Since children have a natural urge to move, which is normal, we were terribly afraid he would fall off the wall, as it was only as high as the table. After he had played with the red pebbles for a while with his shoes, the waitress told him, somewhat sternly, to please leave the stones alone. There wasn't much choice on the menu, and there were no children's dishes at all.

The food was reserved just five minutes after I ordered, which can only mean that it was already ready and had been sitting around for a while. I noticed this later in the bathroom, as I first got a stomach ache and then had diarrhea. The selection is also meager, in my opinion. I can't recommend this restaurant; there are much better ones in Chemnitz and elsewhere.

A birthday present, unfortunately, a total disappointment. The meal was carelessly presented; it was fried chicken with sweet potato fries. The chicken had a soggy coating, drenched in oil, the fries were too big, and the salad was missing entirely (see picture). When I asked for it, it arrived carelessly on a plate. I should have returned it immediately. Normally, you see things like that as a server; everyone was probably annoyed because of the heat. Conclusion: won't be back.

The dumpling roasts are really good!

The restaurant blends in beautifully with the castle grounds. The castle grounds are very well-maintained and attractive. All the tables in the restaurant were occupied, so we sat outside. We were immediately greeted warmly, and our orders were taken and served promptly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Chemnitz is a city worth seeing, and the Miramar is a highly recommended restaurant. Very friendly staff and sensational cuisine. Chanterelle season is in August and September. What's also delicious is that Tuesday is ham hock day, which puts you under a lot of positive stress. Since it's very busy, I recommend reserving a table, especially if you want to sit outside. We've been eating at Miramar regularly for almost 10 years. Unfortunately, the menu and the quality of the food are getting worse and worse. The menu selection is limited, and the food, especially the children's dishes, tasted watery and soapy. If we had pointed this out, the problem would have been brought up in the kitchen and (of course) not addressed. There was no concession to two full children's plates, which were returned. Our dishes also tasted like instant gravy and seemed "lacking in love." We are truly disappointed and can hardly accept the loss of quality given the increased prices.

We spontaneously visited the Miramar and were completely satisfied. Guiseppe served us with friendly and attentive service throughout, and the food was plentiful and truly delicious. We enjoyed the beautiful weather on the sun terrace 👍🏻

I haven't eaten this badly in a long time. There's no real selection on the lunch menu. The potatoes aren't fresh – disgusting. Everything is a bit bland, and the ingredients are strange. Then there are the prices; if the quality was right, I wouldn't mind. We won't be back.

The Miramar has always been a good place for family celebrations and get-togethers. However, on my last visit, I was almost at a loss for what to order. Vegans and vegetarians will certainly find a wide selection of dishes on the menu. On the other hand, the selection of delicious dishes for the general public of omnivores is rather limited. We'll just eat elsewhere now.

Very friendly and quick service, great ambiance, but the food initially sounded very good, and the idea of small and large portions was also very good, but disappointment followed. The seasoned meat tasted very good, but completely runny, and the standard small salad was just a large portion of rabbit food combined with cucumber and tomato, with a simple yogurt dressing on top. You can add such great dressing to salads these days, but here the kitchen simply opted for yogurt dressing. Other seasoning options such as salt, pepper, olive oil, and vinegar were also missing. The vegetables in other dishes at the table, such as fish, were too salty, and the sweet potato chips were missing salt. It's a shame, it's a great place.

We went for dinner on Saturday evening (July 26, 2025). The quality of the food was unfortunately very inconsistent and poorly presented. Around 9:00 PM, the entire beer garden staff took a "short" break of about 20 minutes, much to the dismay of all the guests. Ordering more drinks wasn't possible. And the garden was quite full. Totally unacceptable 😕 Well, that's one way to alienate guests. Too bad we won't be back anytime soon.

Unfortunately, this time it wasn't a great experience. The large, seasoned meat was completely watered down, and there was a sprinkle of cheese that wasn't even properly melted. I've had this same dish before, and there was a world of difference.

Bei leider regnerischem Wetter haben wir in Familie (35-90 Jahre) einen tollen Abend mit Blick über den Schlossteich und den Park gehabt. Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Alle Tische waren besetzt und das Servicepersonal war trotzdem sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Besonderer Dank an Frau Kunze! Der Matjestatar war köstlich-wir haben uns zu 7. 2 Portionen geteilt und bekamen ungebeten Extrateller und Besteck, danke!. Deutsche Küche haben wir erwartet und bekamen wir auch mit interessanten Ideen, z. Bsp. Sauerkrautkroketten oder mediterrane Käseknödel. Die Zunge wurde von knackigem Gemüse flankiert, die knusprige Haxe von klassischemSauerkraut begleitet. Das überbackene Schweinerückensteak war lecker, die Matjes nach Hausfrauenart köstlich. Einzig der Pullt Jack Fruit Burger war nicht so toll. Aber: als wir den Geschmack als zu sauer bemängelt haben, entschuldigte sich die Küche und das Gericht wurde von der Rechnung genommen. Sehr fair! Wir haben alles aufgegessen und kommen sicher wieder.

2022: We hardly found any light and fresh food on the menu in the evening. However, "solid German cuisine" seems to be common everywhere on the Schlossberg. What a shame. A missed opportunity. (Update 2019: We were there in the evening. Even less light food for that time of day. Under the "Crunchy Salads" section, you'll find sausage salad. This is typical of the entire menu: never again.) Kitchen closes at 11:00 PM, and no alternative food is offered. Kitchen staff are running around in Nazi clothing (Amstaff). Addendum May 27, 2022: The Küchwaldbühne (a regular customer) politely asked if they could display program information. This was rudely declined. Is this what mutual support looks like? No! 2025: There is only a limited menu for groups.

Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. The soup was only slightly warmer than the beer. The service was friendly, but their German was poor. My request for a small change to the main course was not accommodated. The taste was average at best, and only lukewarm. The leftovers weren't cleared away for half an hour, even though the waiter came to the table several times. It's such a great place, what a shame!

Das Essen ist schmackhaft und gut zubereitet. Keine lange Wartezeit. Wir waren mit dem Service sehr zufrieden. Dieses Lokal kann man ohne Bedenken weiter empfehlen.
