Very nice restaurant. We felt very comfortable. The food was delicious.

Very friendly service, but unfortunately extremely loud and constantly talking, so you can't really sit near the reception unless you come with a loud group yourself ;)

We spent a wonderful evening here today with ten people. The food was amazing, and our friendly server, Emily, was a real hit. It's fantastic to be able to convey so much joy to our guests despite the full house. We highly recommend it and would be happy to come back.

The service, parking, and ambiance are top-notch. My partner wasn't at all impressed with the meal. He ordered the roulade with dumplings for himself for around €24, and for that price, you'd expect to be filling. However, the roulade was very small, and my partner wasn't at all full afterward, even having to eat 1/4-1/2 of my dish. The roulades, however, are highly recommended! They're very large and can easily feed two people, and that's for a single price of around €23.

Two of us came without a reservation and got a place on the second floor. The service was very polite. Very lovely interior. We opted for veal cheeks and a mixed salad. The salad was good, but a little too small for the price. The veal cheeks were exceptionally tender and very delicious. We both ate the same dish and were very satisfied. The beer is good and the gin and tonics were excellent. The toilets are on the ground floor outside next to the entrance, which I really liked, especially the slogans on the tiles are a hit.

We had reserved everything four months in advance. We were not disappointed in the slightest. A truly quaint pub that combines fantastic, delicious food with warm service. THANK YOU to the team at the Kellerhaus Chemnitz restaurant.

A very nice restaurant, with both the historic ambiance inside and the spacious but unobtrusive beer garden outside. They also serve delicious beers from small breweries, not just from the top-tier brewery network. I wouldn't recommend the roulade, but I do recommend the ox cheeks or tongue. The price/performance ratio is good.

What can I say? I waited far too long to come back here. Argentinian beef with bacon beans. A delight. Medium, of course. Delicious! Melts in your mouth. Incredibly busy, so I waited a little longer than usual. Everything was okay! It was a Friday evening. Still, the staff are always nice, friendly, and accommodating. It's worth a visit. But leave us a table free 😉

Best restaurant ever. Amazing decor, you feel completely at home. The plates are beautifully presented, the food is so delicious, and a request for a voucher was personally delivered to the people at Kellerhaus. The surprise for our friends was overwhelming. Unfortunately, we live hundreds of kilometers away, but thanks to the entire team at Kellerhaus Chemnitz, it worked out. Thank you again, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. I was visiting chemnitz and was really looking forward to dine in this place. Unfortunately the taste was disappointing. But not only this. I got food poisoning after having a fish and a mushroom soup here. And the reaction was quite serious. I’m 100% sure that it happened here. Please be aware

Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment for us. We had the Sauerbraten and the Roulade. The Sauerbraten was very tender, the dumplings quite small and firm and much too salty, the red cabbage was swimming in the sauce, which isn't everyone's cup of tea, and it had very hard outer leaves that felt like plastic wrap. The Roulade was hard, small, and not delicious. The price was very high for the not-so-large portion. We wouldn't eat there again. I realize we were sitting outside, but I still find smoking very unpleasant wherever people are eating. Unfortunately, we were then also greeted by the next table smoking, which was the last straw for us.

It's always nice to eat in an ancient, historic restaurant! Very friendly service, hearty, home-style food—what more could you want? We love going here.

I was disappointed after all the good reviews. We had pre-booked because it was my birthday and the table was supposed to be set already. Unfortunately, nobody knew anything about it. The table wasn't exactly what you'd want when you go out to eat on your birthday and have pre-booked. The absolute worst thing was that we waited an hour and a half for the food. Only after asking when the food would be arriving were they told it would be right away. I think they had simply forgotten about us. Unfortunately, it wasn't the birthday meal we had wanted. The food tasted good but wasn't a huge hit. It's a shame because I had expected more.

Absolutely recommendable! A fantastic place! Excellent food, friendly and attentive service, and a rustic, cozy atmosphere. There were six of us and we were able to comfortably accommodate ourselves after a last-minute reservation. Thanks again to the entire team.

Beautifully located, excellent service, and reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. This is Chemnitz as I knew it in the past. The rest of the city center leaves many questions unanswered. This restaurant is highly recommended.

According to the menu, the food looked very good, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. Croquettes were too big, vegetables were soggy, dumplings were left in the water too long, red cabbage was overcooked, and the Camembert was inedible! On top of that, we waited over an hour for the food, and that for 95 euros, a price that would have been reasonable for good food. Here in Franconia, it would be said that a restaurant like this would have to close. I also saw some other guests' plates not empty. Maybe take a company holiday in Upper and Lower Franconia near Coburg, Bamberg, or Haßfurt and visit our beer gardens and country inns and feast. A. Herrmann My answer to yours: This has nothing to do with East or West, North or South; there are also very good restaurants in Chemnitz! But you can't say, "Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we fail." The menu doesn't say, "You only pay the stated price if it tastes good!" We also have restaurants where the food isn't so good, but then the customers stay away. Stedet krævede en lille spadseretur fra centrum. Meget hyggeligt sted. Maden var i orden, veltillavet og smagfuld, dertil rigtig godt tysk sort øl. Betjeningen var fremragende, imponerende tempo og samtidig smilende og venlig.

Sehr schöne und historische Lage am Fuße des Schlossbergs. Leider ergatterte die schöne Außenterrasse nur noch wenige Sonnenstrahlen ab 18:30 Uhr und der Wind lies einen fast frösteln. Der Service war sehr freundlich, auf Zack und in feinem passenden Zwirn. Das Essen war in Ordnung. Preis-Leistungstechnisch hätte ich hier aber mehr erwartet. Es war nicht nur zu wenig Sößchen auf dem Teller… Die Komposition mit Möhrchen und Erbsen hat für mich auch nicht so gut harmoniert. Das Salatdressing war unglaublich neutral und man hätte auch blank servieren können. Getrennte Bezahlung war überhaupt kein Problem und gut durchorganisiert!

A very nice and cozy restaurant. The service was excellent, the food perfect, and the entire ambiance was perfectly coordinated. However, there is one small criticism... When we made the reservation, the reason given was an anniversary, with a table for two. We got that, but unfortunately, there was a larger group in the room, and the noise level was quite high. It was impossible to have a conversation unless we shouted at each other. Please keep this in mind when assigning seats. But I'm not deducting a star for that, because everything else was perfect.

Delicious food at fair prices and super friendly staff

One of the best restaurants in Chemnitz for home-style cooking. The service is excellent. The waitress is attentive and very friendly. My little daughter was immediately given something to draw. The plates were well-filled and beautifully presented. My trout was a bit pricey, but very good and not overly spicy. The tongue was served without any problems, even with special requests. All in all, highly recommended. We'd be happy to come back.

It didn't work at all... Service was poor. Food mediocre. First the drinks from the neighboring table were booked on us, then the food was taken incorrectly. The new food came far too late and was again not what was ordered. We have also experienced better food elsewhere. We certainly won't be coming back.

Zuerst im Keller platziert: dunkel, eng, kein Platz für Erwachsene, kein angenehmes Ambiente. Anschließend 30 Minuten Wartezeit bis Bestellung aufgenommen wurde. Getränke kamen erst nach weiteren 20 Minuten. (Reserviert 18:30, 19:30 keine Getränke oder Vorspeise.)

We were there for the first time today and were greeted very friendly. The menu was seasonal and varied. We chose various homemade lemonades, asparagus and mustard soups for starters and chicken schnitzel, braised ox cheeks and fried liver for the main course. Everything was very tasty, freshly prepared and extremely lovingly prepared. We felt very welcome and comfortable and will definitely come back next time we are in the area. Thanks so much.

Leider hat die Qualität des Essens stark nachgelassen. Wir hatten alle unterschiedliche Speisen, es wird viel „Fertigware“ verarbeitet. Vor ein paar Jahren war das Essen erheblich besser und wir haben das gehobene Preisniveau gern bezahlt. Mein „Eisbein XXL“ war eher geschmacksneutral (hier fehlte die Zubereitung im würzigen Majoransud), Meerrettichsosse, auf die ich mich gefreut hatte, hat mir nicht geschmeckt, so dass ich nach der Hälfte des Essens aufgab. Bedienung war eher gestresst als zuvorkommend. Positiv zu erwähnen ist das Ambiente und der Umstand, dass die Getränke und das Essen zügig und relativ zeitgleich kamen, was aber sicherlich auch daran lag, dass unser Tisch nach uns schon wieder reserviert war. Das Angebot der Speisekarte ist eher für Mittag als für Abendessen geeignet. Alles in Allem war der Besuch okay aber leider nicht so, dass wir gern wiederkommen würden.

Why aren't there 6 stars to give? I'm blown away. At first you think what small portions these are. In the second moment you are captivated by the incredibly wonderful taste. The goulash soup was amazing, but the rump steak with all the side dishes was top notch. If I didn't know, I would think there was a star chef cooking here. The staff is very nice and accommodating - dogs are also welcome. It's a shame that this restaurant is so far from home, otherwise we would come back very often. The naturally cloudy Kellerbier is also extremely good 🙂 If you are in Chemnitz, the Kellerhaus is a must ❤️

We spontaneously went to dinner in the basement house with our 6-month-old baby and our 2-year-old child. Unfortunately we ended up in a place where there was a lot of hustle and bustle going on, even though there were still a few quiet corners available. We were also mocked by other guests who saw me at the table next to us because I looked foreign and were given a cheeky farewell with the motto "we're happy to have given you a hug", they laughed because I ordered schnitzel, how ridiculous is that. We were only able to enjoy our food quickly because we didn't feel well due to the circumstances and just wanted to leave. We no longer want to enter the Kellerhaus and recommend it to others.

Went there on a recommendation and had pre-booked a table for 6 people by phone. The The attractively set table and, above all, the friendly reception appealed to us immediately. The drink order and our food requests were taken quickly. I chose the roulade with dumplings. A good choice. Lovingly prepared and very tasty. I can say the same about the food of my other family members. After about 90 minutes we left the restaurant full and satisfied. Payment by card without any problems. We were happy to give the TIP. The oldest inn in Chemnitz at the foot of the Schlossberg is always worth a visit. The selection of food and drinks offers something for every taste. Even a short-term reservation for 12 people for dinner was possible without any problems.

I was a repeat offender last week with family and friends. The occasion was my birthday and I can speak on behalf of my guests - it was wonderful. The food is very tasty and prepared with attention to detail - after all, the eye eats with it. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly anyway. The organization of my desired floral decorations for the table - perfect. In short: I can absolutely recommend this traditional inn and would be happy to come back myself. Always happy. 2019 one of the best restaurants in Chemnitz. Addendum 2024: Significantly worse. After an hour of waiting, dried out meat, my partner had canned vegetables. But I'll give the once good restaurant another chance.

Unfortunately, no correct rating is possible because we were turned away very rudely when we entered the restaurant. The reason was the time 8:55 p.m

We recently had dinner in the Kellerhaus. Had pre-ordered for 3 p.m., 3 people. The music; I found the background music to be very loud. My 2 younger “blackheads” don’t. Maybe it was because we were the only ones😉 We found pork knuckle OK for the price quoted and it was plentiful and tasty. However, the sauerkraut was lukewarm and served with just a small dumpling without crumbs and a little sauce. We had nothing to complain about in terms of service. We were the only ones.

We were there on December 26th. at 1:00 p.m. in the basement house and the impression was not positive at all. The food tasted good. The size corresponded to a senior portion for the price of a normal portion. My companion had ordered a starter soup. The soup came in a cup and the cup wasn't even half full. I had game goulash with two small slices of dumplings and a very thin slice of toasted white bread. What was really unpleasant was the argumentative waitress on the topic of house lemonade. We stayed away from the dessert portions so as not to be even more disappointed. This restaurant won't see us again.

Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated significantly. Some of the food doesn't taste good at all.

Wenn man mehr als eine Stunde auf die Vorspeise warten muss und ein Mittagessen dann zwei Stunden - ohne Nachspeise, wohlgemerkt - braucht, stimmt fundamental etwas nicht in diesem ansonsten so schönen Restaurant. Eine nette Bedienung hatte zudem mitten während unseres Aufenthalts (wir kamen mit Reservierung ca. 13h an) Dienstschluss, die übernehmende Bedienung war leider kaum interessiert, unsere unverständlich langen Wartezeiten zu verkürzen, und die Qualität der dann ankommenden Soeisen war unterdurchschnittlich: das was als ‚Wildsüppchen‘ auf der Speisekarte angepriesen wurde stellte sich als dicker Soßen-Verschnitt heraus, dieselbe Soße fanden wir dann beim Sauerbraten wieder… Es brauchte fast eine Halbe Stunde ehe wir informiert wurden, dass die bestellten Gänsekeulen (wir fragten extra nach, ob es diese noch gibt) nicht verfügbar waren. Bei wenig Betrieb waren hier offenbar Bedienung und Küche überfordert - wir können nur hoffen, dass der Betreiber schnellstens reagiert, denn für das Jahr als europäische Kulturhauptstadt ist das einfach nur enttäuschend und sogar peinlich.
