Milano in Kaiserslautern

Four of us were there on a Sunday afternoon. Parking is scarce. There were still plenty of free seats in the restaurant and on the terrace, even though it was busy. Orders were taken promptly and served relatively quickly. However, one pizza was forgotten. Only when we asked about it was it delivered lukewarm 15 minutes later. There was no response to empty glasses, nor was anyone asked if everything was OK. All the dishes tasted excellent. Very good value for money. A very extensive menu that leaves nothing to be desired. There's something for everyone here. The Milano Ristorante is highly recommended.

Plenty of space for comfortable outdoor seating. The large pizza is truly enormous. Delicious. The salad plates are also large portions. The dressing is delicious.

The Ristorante Milano in Kaiserslautern is a very nice restaurant. It's a bit noisy in the dining room, but if you ignore that, it's a very nice restaurant all around. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is also quite good. Highly recommended, but unfortunately only 4 stars due to the noise.

Just getting the drinks took forever. Getting the food didn't. Drinks were simply placed on the table without any explanation as to whether it was Coke Zero or regular. The cutlery for our large group was also kindly placed. It resembled self-service. The staff were inattentive. The food was not good. Not recommended.

Very bad restaurant The bill was incorrect. 3 out of 4 dishes were wrong. Never again.

The food was okay, nothing special. We asked the waitress if she could clear the tables of empty plates, as wasps were buzzing around the leftovers and no one had come to clear them for a long time. She simply pointed out that we should ask the waitress in charge (who never showed up). It didn't even occur to her to simply take the plates, since she was already empty, or to approach her colleague herself. Very rude, even though the place wasn't busy.

A visit here a few years ago was a real highlight. Good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and friendly service. Our most recent visit was all the more disappointing. The pizzas and pasta were average at best, and much of it seemed carelessly prepared. The service was particularly negative: long waits, forgotten orders, and unfriendly staff. The tables were dirty, used dishes weren't cleared away, and the noise level was extremely unpleasant. It's a shame to see how much the quality has declined in all areas. Unfortunately, I no longer recommend it.

The food is delicious 😋 You'll be very filling. The pizzas are very large, they go over the edge of the plate. A personal tip: 😁 Spaghetti Carbonara 🍝 It's not loud except at lunchtime. If you go in the evening, it's not so loud. The service is very friendly.

Hello everyone. I want to share my review of this restaurant. Very, very tasty. Recently, Pizza Milano merged with a neighboring restaurant - a burger, and I ordered a burger, it was also very tasty! The only thing is that the burger knife was dusty (you can see it in the first photo), as if no one had used it for 100 years, but okay, I wiped it with a napkin myself. As for the dishes of this restaurant (pizza Milano), such incidents have never happened, everything has always been perfect, the prices are great. The pasta is very juicy and tasty, as well as the pizza. But I did not like the salad with shrimp. Too much cabbage and almost no shrimp. And the shrimp tasted like they were just defrosted in the microwave and thrown into the salad. But I often visit this place and in general I like everything, so I recommend it! Also the place is quite noisy, especially when there are a lot of visitors, and there are almost always a lot of visitors 😅

The pizza is great, the pasta is delicious, the atmosphere isn't that good, it's quite loud because it's always busy, the staff are all friendly, I've been eating there for years!

I was here with my family. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. We ordered pizza, but didn't get any plates or cutlery. The servers wandered around but didn't ask if everything was okay or if we had everything. The pizza was delicious, but the service was simply terrible. We won't be back.

We ordered pizza to take home. Wait time 15mins which was adequate. Prices good for the size of pizza. Really great taste. Only downside was the absolute chaos we witnessed while waiting. Most people ate outside on the terrace, so wouldn't even be aware. But waiting and watching what was going on, it was hard to believe the place still exists. Nevertheless, can recommend the pizzas and would pick up again. Maybe order by phone and avoid the wait by the bar. 😊

Love the pasta here! I had the Tortellini a la Chef and added shrimp to it and it was delicious! Husband had the Gnocchi al Forno and it was also fantastic. I wasn’t too big of a fan of the pizza the first time I tried it, for me it was just ok. But I will definitely be back to try more things on their menu!

It's more of a student atmosphere: rustic and charming 😉 The pizzas are gigantic, the burgers are delicious, but the salads haven't been anything special so far. Hardly any dressing and more bland than tasty. Nice place for a quick bite.

The food is delicious and the portions are large, especially the pizzas, which are sure to fill you up. The menu is very extensive, the staff is friendly, and the food arrives quickly. The only criticism is that it's often a bit noisy in the restaurant, but it's still possible to have a conversation.

Ordered something to pick up. First I had to watch my food get cold for 10 minutes, then the cash register had to register my presence. As I was walking out, a rat came towards me.

So...since the last time I was criticized by the restaurant for not expressing myself constructively enough for a Google review, here's another new, current review. I was invited to a birthday party at Milano a few weeks ago. Otherwise, I wouldn't set foot there again, as my last few visits simply weren't tasty or pleasant. The Milano has apparently now merged with the Old Station. So now there are burgers and fries, etc., on the huge and overcrowded menu. Watch a restaurant show on TV once, and you know that a small but high-quality, lovingly designed menu is more suitable. Unfortunately, this is also noticeable in the food. The halloumi cheese on the burger was way too thick and not well seasoned. The burger itself was very greasy, the tomato was firm and tasted bad at all. The fries didn't have a good flavor, were strangely dried out, and just tasted a bit old. The sweet potato fries were similar. And the BBQ burger had way too much sauce, which overpowered everything. I'm saying this constructively. You really need to downsize your menu and offer higher-quality, well-thought-out products. If the price-performance ratio is right, people will want to come back! The pasta dishes are often too much. That's not enjoyable... it's very filling. Only the pasta with salmon was well-received, in terms of taste. And the staff was actually quite nice and always helpful. And the iced teas and lemonades were unusual and delicious. Still, you have to change a few things. As it is now, I advise everyone to stay away from this restaurant.

The food and service were great! We sat outside at the edge of the parking lot at our own request, as the cars parking and leaving the parking lot were a bit annoying.

Steak is not good or I would better say that they change the whole concept of steak. It is so pricey

A lovely place to feast and relax! The food (wood-fired pizza) was delicious again, and I was able to take the leftovers home with me. Even my small pizza was quite large! The homemade lemonade and iced tea were super refreshing, and, as always, it was very pleasant on the terrace.

The best pizza I've ever known! The menu has such an incredible variety that it's hard to choose, and despite a full house and many takeaway orders, the pizza was on the table in no time. The prices are really fair, the atmosphere inside is somewhat cozy, but the conservatory areas are more like a train station concourse and noisy. The tables are disinfected after each use. The service is fast and polite.

We've been to many Italian restaurants, but the food here tastes terrible. The server was unfortunately unable to take the correct orders and brought the wrong pizzas. They also look unappetizing and poorly presented. The homemade drinks are hypersweet syrup in a water glass with ice cubes. I wasn't expecting that for almost €6 a glass! Not a single fruit/berry, not even a single herb leaf in the glass... The service is snippy, unfriendly, and incompetent. At a nearby table, teenagers were shouting so loudly that your ears would fall off. It was impossible to have a conversation at your own table or to read the menu calmly and attentively. We asked the server to keep the noise down, but they just told us they were just kids! A different table wouldn't have been possible because the entire restaurant was blaring. I'll never go back to this lousy snack bar with the volume of construction noise!

Not the cheapest place but acceptable. Staff is always very friendly and nice, making this a great location for team / group events. Having a pizza with pineapple on the menu and calling it "Pizza Italia" should be a criminal offense though.

The food was excellent as always, but the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered something to take away, the man in front of us was given a free bottle of water, and we didn't even get a goodbye. It's a shame.

We usually go with a group of seven or more and have never needed a reservation, though they do accept them for larger parties. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a cozy sunroom-style option that’s perfect year round. If you do sit outside, it is a smoking area so be mindful of that because they will be smoking the entire time. The bathrooms are clean and well thought out. You can use the small two stall restroom near the entrance or head downstairs to the larger family friendly bathrooms with multiple stalls super convenient if you’re dining with kids. Highly recommend for groups, families, and anyone looking for great Italian food and a laid-back, reliable local favorite.

I had the spaghetti carbonara and my partner had the steak. Both were delicious and good portions. The staff were friendly and helpful. So we visited the restaurant again. And even had the same meal it was so good. Would highly recommend this restaurant and when we're back in Germany we will visit again. Milano restaurant thank you so much.

Our family really likes the pizzas here. I always get the garlic pizza bread, since I'm vegan. It's also very tasty. But perhaps offering a few vegan alternatives as a way to encourage people to think about these times would be great.👍🏻

It was really great coming here today. I had takeout on March 29th. Then I was here last year on Labor Day, I think, and the year before that on my birthday. I was here again today, just like last Saturday. It's simply incredible.

The Pizzas were just excellent, so was the lasagne. The dessert selection is limited but quite good. Great for families as well as friends. Definitely recommend.

It was my first time there, and the pizza was absolutely delicious, and the other dishes served around the place looked really good, too. I'd love to eat there again! Big place, comfortable. You can bring 30 friends here, no problem. Went to a going away party, early dinner, and it was great. Basically, it's a pizza place but lots more on the menu, pasta, shrimp, and many salads.

Today we ate there for the first time since the garden show, and we were all thrilled. From pizza to pasta to steak, everything was fantastic. I went there for the first time on a recommendation. It shares the location with another restaurant which also looked highly recommended. I was there on a weekday afternoon and there were over 90% of the seats available. At the entrance there is a sign telling you to wait because you will be taken to the square. In front of me stood a couple and an individual. After 1-2 minutes no one came to show the people in front of me a place, I asked if they could be helped. Everyone just wanted to do a pickup. (It's a shame that you have to wait in line for customers who want to sit in the restaurant). After I stood right at the front, after another 1-2 minutes a gentleman asked me if I was the vegetarian pizza :D When I answered him that I would like a seat, he immediately summoned an employee to me who took me to a nicely located seat. My starter was delivered very quickly and tasted very tasty, although you could tell from the accurate and almost square shape of the stuffed grape leaves that they were a finished product. The pizza was extremely tasty and the wine was also at the right temperature. All in all, a very tasty restaurant with a great ambience! I only think the guest reception and the choice of words could be improved

My spaghetti gorgonzola is always amazing. It's my favorite pizza, and so are the salads. But the grilled pepperoni, at €9.50, is an absolute disgrace. Browned, bone-dry, and without good olive oil. But they don't accommodate me at all. I just won't order them anymore, no problem. I still eat my spaghetti and pizza.

My girlfriend and I visited the Milano for the first time. We had a meal there before an event and were absolutely thrilled. The homemade iced tea was particularly delicious. I absolutely loved the option of using an external restroom. The service from the moment I arrived until my departure was very warm, and I received good advice on my meal selection. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. We would love to return to the Milano and indulge in some culinary delights the next time we visit Kammgarn.

I've eaten at many Italian restaurants, but the taste of what we got was subpar. Of course, we weren't asked if it tasted good. We left half of it standing. You had to look for the minced meat in the so-called Bolognese. I then found a few sachets. The sauce tasted like less than nothing. And the pizza looked great, but it wasn't a hit either. All the more annoying because my colleague had specially ordered a large one. The table we sat at hadn't been cleaned either. There were almost more staff present than guests. People prefer to gossip among themselves. We're definitely not coming back.

Three of us were there on a Saturday evening. And only because we were given vouchers as a gift. So we probably wouldn't have gone there. The location is good if you are attending an event in Kamsgarn before or after. Otherwise it is far away from the shot. In my opinion, this restaurant is pure mass processing: you come, eat and then leave as quickly as possible. After all, the table is needed. The food was too expensive as the quality was not good. For example, the schnitzel arrived cold. In contrast to the overpriced food, the service staff were very nice and patient. The ambience and volume are hardly worth mentioning as it is stuffy and loud. So all in all, this was an unpleasant dinner for us. However, you have to give the restaurant credit for the fact that the portions were of a decent size, so that you as a guest were well fed.

We often go there after a tiring day or when we don't feel like cooking, always super friendly welcome and service. The food is plentiful and delicious, I even like the pizzas a lot and I'm not normally a pizza fan. Price performance is absolutely perfect, you get really good food for your money, I always enjoy coming back and actually have to stop by again.

Arrival 6 p.m. with reservation. Were greeted friendly. We had pizza, pasta al forno and homemade iced tea. The food came to the table within 20 minutes, despite the tables being full. Pizza and pasta were very tasty. The pizza in particular is highly recommended. Fresh from the wood oven, well topped and seasoned. One star deduction for the "homemade" ice tea, which is more like water with syrup. Unfortunately disappointing for just under €5! You know this better from other restaurants that offer these drinks... Unfortunately, the noise level is almost unbearable at peak times, which is due to the acoustics and the too many tables packed closely together. Service was ok. Neutral, neither friendly nor unfriendly. Nevertheless, I would happily recommend this restaurant because of the very good food. We will come again :)

We eat there every now and then and order there often. The pizzas are always fresh and from the wood-fired oven, which of course makes a difference in taste. My family and I went to Milano's almost every weekend for 8 years when we lived and worked in Kaiserslautern due to the variety of menu options, great prices, great customer service, and general atmosphere (including outdoor seating during the spring/summer months). We always make it a point to go to Milano's when we visit Kaiserslautern from the US. Finally, the size of this facility/seating capacity makes it an excellent location for large family gatherings (birthdays, etc.), office meetings or farewells. **** This is by far, the #1 wood stove pizzaria in Kaiserslautern and surrounding area! The owner/staff are exceptional and focus on customer service/satisfaction. In addition to their authentic wood stove pizzas, which are reasonably priced, large, with quality and generous toppings, there are many other options to include, but not limited to pastas, salads, and desserts. My family and I went to Milano's almost every weekend for 8 years while living and working in Kaiserslautern due to the variety of menu options, excellent prices, superior customer service, and overall atmosphere (to include outdoor seating during spring/summer months). Very big and loud. Unfortunately not suitable for a romantic meal for two. To fill you up for a relatively fair price, it's definitely good. We often order pizza to pick up.

Although we came with 7 people without a reservation, we were seated at a table relatively quickly, despite Saturday evening! The staff tried very hard, despite the presumably high level of stress, as there was a lot going on there. The food also came very quickly and everyone enjoyed it excellently. Service was always present and drinks always came very quickly. Absolutely recommended!

Loved the desserts. The pasta I ordered was encased in the same cheese as the lasagna. It wasn't what I expected but good. It would have been better with less cheese.

Unfortunately, even the small pizzas are much too big. Everyone actually takes something with them afterwards. I think matching portions are nicer. But the food is really great!
