I was thrilled with the food; it was great value for money! Service left a lot to be desired; it felt like a mass-processing operation. Whether it was the manager, I don't know, was he very, very loud? I was sitting in a very awkward position, and his loud voice was constantly in my ears. It was also very loud overall. It was difficult to have a proper conversation.

Anytime!!! Great food, fast service, chef is hands-on. Stone oven in the restaurant - you can see your pizza being made from the very beginning.

Unfortunately, I'm here far too rarely. They have the best wood-fired pizza in Augsburg. The interior is beautifully decorated, and the courtyard is cozy too (they can't help the street noise).

The pizzas are delicious, and the daily specials are always good. It's hard to choose. Parking is a bit tricky, but the tram stop is right outside.

The food is delicious; my highlight is the gluten-free menu, which also allows people with celiac disease to eat here safely and with confidence. The service is also very attentive and friendly. I always stop by when I'm in Augsburg. From the outside, the restaurant is hardly noticeable, but inside there is a very nice, cozy atmosphere. So far, there has always been a daily special, which is presented at the table. A reservation is definitely necessary.

Reservations were easy. We were a group of 19 people. The food arrived quickly, and it tasted delicious. The service was so friendly. They anticipated our every need. High praise! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

I went to eat here with my family since there is only a few places in town with gluten free options. I got a gf pizza and was very happy with it. It was huge and super yummy. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination and I didn’t get sick so I had a great experience. My family that eat gluten also loved everything they got!

Incredibly delicious gluten-free pizza (the best we've found in Germany so far). Very tasty thin crust and incredibly delicious spicy tomato sauce. Overall, a very wide selection, whether pizza, pasta, gnocchi, or dessert. The grilled vegetables were very well grilled and seasoned, and a very nice, large portion as a side dish. The rest of us were also incredibly enthusiastic about the pasta (the best we've ever eaten). The pasta seems to be homemade and really delicious. The food was beautifully presented. Incredibly friendly and reliable service. We will definitely be back. A highly recommended restaurant.

We went there for the first time today on a friend's recommendation. We received a very warm welcome and were given a table in the restaurant area. The service was really, really good! Attentive, fast, customer-focused, exactly as it should be. The food was truly delicious, with very generous portions and a very reasonable price. We'll definitely be back!

Update February 12, 2025 Went there again at lunchtime today... total renovation inside... everything turned out really chic... new tables, new chairs... much better layout... we've always enjoyed coming for lunch and continue to love coming to Michelangelo's for lunch... the staff is great anyway... and the boss too. Very tasty pizza and a great spot for lunch... and always a good lunch with salad 🥗

Actually you shouldn't rate it at all because otherwise more guests will come and you won't get any more space. :-) There are certainly many Italian restaurants in Augsburg and the surrounding area, but the Michelangelo is so good in many things that we simply have to recommend it. Ambiance: You just feel comfortable, Italian flair including a discreetly playing radio station. The team is honestly friendly and accommodating but not over-excited as experienced in other restaurants. We no longer use the menu because the boss makes suitable recommendations and even advises against certain things such as mussels (warmth, freshness) - great! We found the restaurant by searching for gluten-free dishes because the wife developed significant celiac disease within a very short period of time. The smallest traces of gluten are now enough and the day is over. And this is what makes the difference at Michelangelo: meticulous attention is paid to this factor (pans in the kitchen, dishes, etc. and of course the ingredients). I couldn't get the recipe for the gluten-free pizza bread out of the chef, the pizzas themselves are so good that it's hard to believe there's no wheat flour in the food. All dishes are fresh, well prepared and really perfect in quality and quantity. Unfortunately I can't provide any photos, I don't like taking photos of the plate in restaurants. Conclusion: Highly recommended in all respects - we have found our regular Italian. Addition: after the renovation it is even more cozy and authentic. The food is beyond reproach, as is the service. Now our favorite restaurant.

“Great family meal after renovation!” There were 10 of us eating and we all had different dishes - each of them was excellent! The service was friendly and attentive, and the new atmosphere is modern and cozy. A perfect evening with delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

I was there on December 26th, 2024 with my wife and my daughters at lunchtime. We had already made a personal reservation with the owner 8 weeks in advance and asked for a nice table. We were then given a table right next to the entrance door and in front of the cloakroom. Every guest who entered the restaurant felt incredibly drawn. Guests who were hanging their jackets on the coat rack had to push past us. One of my daughters ordered a sole and when it was brought, the overwhelmed waitress asked if my daughter wanted the sole filleted, to which she said yes. The waitress went to her boss with the plate and he then came back with the waitress and served the fish on a second cold plate. When the fish arrived at my daughter's house, it was beyond cold. My wife ordered monkfish with baked potatoes and vegetables. She got a whopping 1 potato and vegetables. My daughter had 5 or 6 potatoes. I ordered a calzone, which was crispy on top but completely soggy on the bottom was. The bottom had an inedible rubbery consistency. When the waitress cleared up and took 2/3 of my calzone, she didn't comment at all. I find that quite surprising. I will not recommend this restaurant to my friends and acquaintances.

Food was great, I haven't had such good Italian food in a long time. Everything was really tasty here, from fried salmon to pasta to fish soup! Plus real pizza bread instead of a baguette. Service super friendly and accommodating. Ambiance cozy. You felt at home and comfortable here. Absolutely recommended!!

Mit leckeren Fleisch- und Fischgerichten lassen wir uns ebenfalls gerne verwöhnen. Die Vorspeisen und Desserts sind immer ein Genuss. Wenn man sich mal nicht entscheiden kann, sollte man den Empfehlungen des Chefs folgen, da kann man nichts falsch machen. Das Serviceteam ist stets aufmerksam und von ausgesuchter Freundlichkeit. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

We had lunch with 4 people. Whether staff or boss, everyone is very friendly. We had a salad as a starter. Pizza as the main course. Everything tasted very good. Restaurant is great and would recommend it to anyone who likes to eat Italian.

Large portion Unfortunately it's not very appealing. We both had salad. The pieces were huge. E.g. half a tomato... We had a bit of the impression that it was a feeding trot for a horse. :-)

I wasn't that enthusiastic when I walked in, there were 2 tables occupied and a cold atmosphere, so I was skeptical about the food. More and more guests came until it was full and we also got our food. The food was a pleasure, no matter what was ordered... We had mixed grill, pasta, fish very tasty and Saltimbocca Romana was super tasty. But the highlight was a well-topped pizza with a very thin base, juicy, airy and crunchy at the same time - I've rarely had such a good pizza. The cuisine was better than my expectations and that's why I get full marks for this restaurant. I will accept the distance of over 100 km so that I can eat here more often. See you soon!

Following a recommendation from a friend, the four of us went to the Michelangelo Pizzeria & Ristorante in Augsburg for the first time on Sunday. I have to follow a gluten-free diet and was pleasantly surprised by the range of gluten-free dishes on the menu. The owner explained to me that he can prepare almost every dish on the menu gluten-free. As a starter, my husband and I shared the Antipasto Michelangelo. Care was also taken to ensure that the bread and the Vitello Tonnato (not gluten-free) were served separately. And then the gluten-free pizza - the best pizza I've eaten in years! The pasta dishes can also be prepared gluten-free! Very attentive owner and service. 100% recommendation! Grace!
