Although the food was acceptable and portions were decent, the staff didn’t know a single English word and they were not too kind with us. It disnt feel like a Greek cousins at all as key dishes were missing. Prices are definitely too high, I cannot accept to pay 1/2 L of water 6 euros ! I do not understand where all the 5 stars come from. We will not come back.

Just now, Monday at 7:00 p.m. as a guest at a table for four outside, I was directed to the inside area when asked how many more people were coming. You would want to keep the tables free for groups. You don't seem to need it anymore. I politely declined. There are plenty of alternatives in the immediate vicinity.

We were welcomed very nicely. The food was excellent. The service was friendly, quick and very attentive, the prices were fair and the atmosphere was appropriate. We will come again. :)

I love Greek food and especially Greek appetizers. Here you can order Greek tapas, so you get a small portion of everything. Great concept, great friendly service and really tasty food. We were so full at the end. We said at the beginning that we didn't want seafood, that wasn't a problem.

We loved the concept and the food! Everything was super tasty and really well done with these smaller portions. So you have a good selection and can try everything. Only the table was a bit small. There were five of us and with all the bowls and plates on the table there was a bit of space. But otherwise “thumbs up”!

Greek tapas eaten here costs €27.50 per person. There are several dishes in a row. The entire menu and more are supposed to come, but we didn't manage to do that. Staff very friendly and quick service. We found that they served the food almost too quickly. So that we could hardly eat the hot dishes warm. Price performance is very good. If they had waited a bit before serving the two menu items then it would have been 5 stars. We ate here twice and it was delicious.

I was there with 14 people... all you can seemed like too much... I decided on the mixed salad with salmon... I regretted that I didn't eat the meze, everyone was super excited ... but I had a huge mountain of tomatoes and a huge mountain of cucumber... no delicious sauce .. a touch of piece of salmon... my friend had a similar experience with mixed salad and chicken... next time we'll also have the meze. ..

This calls for a revisit. Anyone who loves trying different dishes will definitely get their money's worth here. We will definitely come back next time we visit Hamburg.

The food was very good and really a lot. We had something from the menu and the all you can eat mezedes. Both were highly recommended. The staff were very friendly.

Very nice shop with fast service and kind staff. They were very willing to serve us as we didn't have a reservation and managed to get us a table even though the restaurant was very busy. We took the appetizer selection for two which was delicious as well as very large. They brought us appetizers from almost the entire menu so we had the opportunity to try a bit of everything. Thank you very much! I highly recommend.

This Greek restaurant fully deserves its top rating. I haven't seen anything similar yet. The Greek food in the form of Tspas is definitely something very special. We managed three rounds and were able to try around 18 different dishes. From pork, beef, chicken to shrimps and various salads and vegetables. Everything was super fresh and super tasty. We've put this restaurant on our watch list because we'll definitely be back! So if you like going to Greek restaurants, you shouldn't miss Mezedes. And as it should be, there's an Uzo on the house. ;-)

Huge Greek feast! Delicious food. Only thing that the restaurant could improve is the amount of likely food waste (so serve smaller portions towards the end) for a couple on the all you can eat menu. The amount of food that came on the fourth service was crazy. Come hungry - highly recommend!

Best Greek food. The Mezedes are simply great. The selection of “tapas” is a colorful mix. The selection of vegetarian dishes was also more than extensive. A must for every visit to Hamburg.

Waren geschäftlich dort mit 12 Personen, es waren im hinteren Teil mehrere große Gruppe, entsprechend war es eine gute Stimmung aber auch sehr laut. Am Montag Abend brechend voll. Das beste: das Essen. Wir haben das AllYouCanEat Angebot gewählt: Auf Holzbrettern werden von der Seite 4 bis 5 griechische Tapas in die Tischmitte geschoben. Wir haben fünf Gänge geschafft, eigentlich wären vier ausreichend gewesen, sau lecker und abwechlunsgreich. Ich war inzwischen nochmals dort.

Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Aber das Essen fanden wir nicht berauschend: Wir haben Souvlaki und Bifteki. Beiden Gerichten fehten eindeutig Gewürze, waren also geschmacklos. Dazu war das Fleisch von Souvlaki so trocken/todgegrillt, sodass es nur durch die Zuhilfenahme von viel Zaziki zu essen war. Zurückgeben war leider keine Option, da wir hungrig waren und danach noch einen Termin hatten. Wir werden definitiv nicht wiederkommen. Die Sterne gibt es fürs Personal und die Ausstattung des Restaurants.

Loved how light and rich in taste the grills are. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. Make sure to book in advance because it gets busy in weekends.

I was surprised by the selection of food. We had at least 15 different specialties. It was my son's birthday meal for me.

Rarely have I experienced such a delicious meal, big praise for the kitchen. The service was also great. The enormous noise level was strenuous to almost uncomfortable. A well-filled restaurant is great and makes the restaurateur happy. For me as a guest, the high noise caused by lively conversations was almost unbearable. I could barely understand my own guests. We then had coffee and dessert elsewhere. Very unfortunate. The noise level could be significantly reduced with sound-absorbing wall and ceiling cladding.

The best Greek food in Hamburg. The "tapas" are of very high quality and varied. Unfortunately, the store is often very hectic and crowded. Therefore, you sometimes have to wait a little longer for service and definitely have to make a reservation. But the staff is very nice.

Overall a great concept. Also economically well thought out. Always eat filling foods in larger quantities. Meat dishes or fish in small portions. It is not possible to reorder particularly tasty dishes. But I can understand. Would mess up the whole concept. The quality of the food is very good but nothing outstanding. I was there for the second time today. The first time it was great and something “new”. The second time I noticed that it was basically almost the same dishes 1:1. A bit of a shame! Not a restaurant for a regular visit but definitely worth a visit once a year or at longer intervals.

Il personale, sempre gentile e disponibile, ci ha guidati attraverso il vasto menù e ci ha spiegato il funzionamento del servizio "all you can eat". La sala è spaziosa e ben arredata, con un'illuminazione soffusa che crea un'ambiente rilassante, perfetto per una serata con amici o una cena in famiglia. La varietà del cibo è sorprendente. Mezedes offre un'ampia selezione di piatti. Ogni portata è preparata con ingredienti freschi e di alta qualità, e questo si riflette nel sapore e nella presentazione. Ho particolarmente apprezzato i dolci, che includeva una vasta gamma di specialità greca .il perfetto finale per un pasto abbondante. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è eccellente. At first I was skeptical, but then I was very positively surprised. Great all you can eat concept, it is welcome that the service asks whether fish/seafood is desired. I'll definitely do it again the next time I'm in Hamburg, but then it'll probably be more of a plate meal, otherwise there'll be too much food.

Just wow! We ate mezedes and were served many different dishes. Everything was wonderfully prepared and delicious. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We were lucky with the weather and were able to sit outside, so I can't say how the inside of the restaurant is equipped. We were full and very satisfied and happy.

An absolute MUST if you are in Hamburg. Quickly accessible on foot from the jetties. The Greek tapas in the all-you-can-eat format were very, very tasty and definitely worth the price. This was crowned by the friendly and professional service. Again any time!

It's our first time there and we're super excited, the food is a dream, but unfortunately it's sooooooooo much that we couldn't make it. The service was top, the service was super nice, a reason to definitely come back.👍👍👍👍👍

Other than the entrance and exit parts everything was great. Food and service is recommended. At the entance we had company meeting due to that needed to ask the company table, waiter ( he said his name is Franceska) said just look I dont know in an ignorant way then our table was not visible behind the the wall then I came back to ask other possible tables but he was speaking to yelling tone saying I dont know your table just check it. I asked asked his name to complaint later to manager that there is no need for yell at customer. At the end of evening he asked my name and asked what is my plan with his name! It was provocatively discussing as I shouldn’t ask the name of possible reservation he has many tables so customer should check itself and not ask! Tried to find a middle way it can be stressful and but we need enrolment if they put a sign that writes wait here our waiters will help you. He wanted to pick a verbal discussion that I needed to just leave and then he was staring out of the restaurant. If not an company invitation or etc I personally would not prefer to visit again regardless of everything else being great.

The concept of the Mezedes restaurant sounds promising at first glance, but unfortunately the implementation leaves a lot to be desired. One of the biggest problems is that individual wishes are rarely taken into account. The restaurant offers a menu in different rounds (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Round 4) where you have no control over what is served next. Even if you explicitly state that you no longer want certain dishes, your request will be ignored. It's also not possible to re-order food from previous rounds, so you're constantly uncertain about what's coming next and have to put up with the food that's served. We experienced another example of the restaurant's lack of flexibility when there was a vegetarian person and a meat-eating person in our group. In the third round, four out of six tapas were meat dishes. The meat-eating person was already full, while the vegetarian person remained hungry and lacked sufficient choice. This led to unnecessary discussions and dissatisfaction at the table. In addition, inexpensive and filling foods are served in larger portions, while more expensive ingredients are only offered in small quantities. The food itself was average and did not live up to expectations one might have for a restaurant with such a concept. You can get similar dishes from any other Greek restaurant. Another negative point was the communication with the waiters. It seemed as if they either did not understand German sufficiently or could not express themselves clearly, which led to misunderstandings and difficult communication. The ambience and drink prices were fine, but overall the experience was disappointing. Due to the problems described, I would not recommend Mezedes and will probably not go there again. Overall, rather bad than good.

Really good food, the salad a bit boring, but everything else was top notch. Fast service, the food was hot and well prepared. The staff seemed a bit stressed, but there were also a lot of people that night. The restaurant can definitely be recommended.

Highly recommended if you like Greek food. With Mezedes there is an all you can eat option that I can highly recommend. There are lots of small bites from Greek cuisine here. If you don't like something or have special requests, just let us know at the beginning. Alternatively, there are also normal Greek dishes from the menu. Taste, service and price performance are very good. It makes sense to reserve in advance as the restaurant is very busy.

The food - we had the Greek tapas - was great. Lots of different things and tasted perfect. Unfortunately, after the first round of tapas there was no proactive follow-up. We had to call the waiter to the table several times so that the tapas could continue. Unfortunately, dessert tapas isn't part of it as a finale. We were told we were welcome to order dessert from the dessert menu. When paying, an ouzo was offered at the tables next to us, as we know it from Greek restaurants. Unfortunately we weren't offered anything despite a nice tip. You will get one point deducted from me because you tried to have my completely honest review removed via Google, accusing me of slandering you. This is complete nonsense! You should take this as an incentive to get better and not try to have the back door reviews removed... that's not possible - sorry!

Great location if you want to eat differently. The small mezzedes that you ordered and always arrived completely different were very tasty. We would go there again😀

The restaurant was not satisfied with my review and had a lawyer remove it via Google. There is one star for this approach. Dear Mezedes team, it is better to take criticism from your customers seriously and instead of either writing insulted answers under your guests' comments or having the review removed by a lawyer. (The original review wasn't even bad... But apparently they only want 5 stars here... Now you only get one for your behavior.)

The concept of offering delicious Mezedes “All You Can Eat” made us happy on the one hand, but also pushed us to our limits on the other. Do we still make the wedges in the hope of getting taramas on the next board? Everything was tasty, fresh and authentic, and a fine selection of ouzo and retsina ensured that we staggered out of the restaurant grinning and satisfied. The ambience was rather restless, the service tried hard but bordered on being overwhelming. Overall, not the small tavern with a view of the azure bay, but close in terms of cuisine. Gladly again!

Reply to owners response: My previous 'flagged' review is from a Local Guides account with more than 500 reviews and contains a long review text along with pictures. Thus, it is hard to assume it was a review from a competitor! -- Unfortunately, this restaurant manipulates its Google reviews by having lawyers remove any reviews with less than 4 stars. This is unethical behavior. My previous review of a visit in June 2023 was fairly balanced with 3 stars due to the subpar taste of the food. However, this dishonest practice deserves no positivity.

One of the best Greek restaurants I’ve ever been to. We ordered Tapas which unlimitedly you receive different dishes of the restaurant in small potions. You cannot say which food you want for the next round though. All of them were delicious especially octopus, dolma and souvlaki.

After a late flight to Hamburg, we got something to eat there at 9:30 p.m. We were greeted warmly, the bread came to the table with a really good salad. The taste of the food was really delicious! Our start to our Hamburg vacation was great!

We regularly go to different Greek restaurants, most of them have the usual menu with small variations. We were therefore very excited about the surprise principle according to which the dishes are served here. Most of the dishes were really delicious and we will definitely come back. It's a bit of a shame, however, that you neither always find out what you're getting nor can you influence what comes next. This could still be optimized.

Modernly furnished shop that is also designed to serve larger groups. We ate mezes with several people. I found them to have a mixed taste and tended to be more meaty. Some were tasty, others mediocre or plain. I can't say whether, for example, beetroot with a little sheep's cheese is typically Greek. I wouldn't go here again because I didn't find value for money justified and I'm not a fan of all-you-can-eat. There was also a very unpleasant incident in which an employee had a mishap and was then “belittled” and threatened with immediate termination by the boss so loudly that it could be heard throughout the entire restaurant. To me, that doesn't speak for a particularly human working atmosphere in which mistakes can happen and I don't support that.

The food was delicious and the waiters were all very nice. We were at the back on the terrace, which was a bit too cramped for me personally. But it was a great evening and a nice restaurant.

It is possible to eat with the "all you can" formula but without a buffet. The food automatically arrives at the table without ordering. It is ideal for those who want to try all the Greek specialties. The service is very fast. It is served on picturesque wooden trays on which many bowls or saucers are placed. The food arrives hot and well prepared. The staff is very friendly and makes sure everything is ok. We ate about 20 different dishes: meat, fish, sauces, cheese and vegetables cooked in various ways and also raw. They asked us if we still wanted food. We were curious to know what they would bring us. Unfortunately the stomach was full and it would not have been right to leave the food. You pay 27.90 per person. In my opinion it is a fair price. The staff is very kind and accommodating. The room is charming and well furnished. The bathrooms are in the basement. They are clean and well organized. I advise.

Mezedes is a really nice Greek restaurant with a great atmosphere. There is a terrace at the front, a large interior space and another small terrace at the back with fairy lights. Really very comfortable. We chose the Mezedes menu, which consists of several rounds of different tapas. These are always colorfully mixed and put together differently. A great idea in itself - and the food was really delicious too!! - however, two things irritated us a little. 1. We specifically requested mezze without seafood. Unfortunately, according to the waiter, that didn't work. We should then simply let the scampi that came with us go back. 2. We would have been happy with a small bowl of bacon-wrapped dates (other tables had these in their first round, but for us they didn't appear in the first three rounds). I asked if we could have two little dates. That was denied. The mezze are always put together spontaneously in the kitchen. We think that's a shame, because 1. a lot of food will probably end up in the trash and 2. it wouldn't be possible to fulfill a wish (which is not unfulfillable). We would have been very happy with two dates wrapped in bacon 😅 We know the concept from other restaurants, where you can choose the mezze according to your taste. That might be an inspiration for this restaurant to use the food more sustainably 💚 Because as I said, the restaurant is great, the service itself is nice and the food is really tasty. Unfortunately, this concept will not lead us to this restaurant again.

Beautifully prepared, delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service

More appearance than reality. The all you can eat concept forces a system catering-like service. Facility top. Atmosphere suffers because the restaurant is full of tables. Guests get too loud, waiters are always overwhelmed, a walk to the toilet is more fun on the plane while drinks are being served than in this restaurant on a Saturday evening.

Food good, staff terrible! We had dinner with 8 people. One of the ladies has had stomach surgery and wanted to take the children's plate. It wasn't possible, but no problem then she was supposed to get some of my starter and another of the main course. All in all, our group were very good eaters and very good drinkers. When the lady who had the operation got some of my starter and the other main course, the waiter came and forbade her to eat! She wasn't allowed to eat anymore because she hadn't ordered anything. When I asked for the boss, they said he wasn't there. The boss allowed himself to be denied! For your information, she didn't eat at the mezedes buffet but instead ordered pre and main courses from reel. She didn't even touch a bite of the buffet! She ate 1 piece of the main course of the souvlaki and 3 pepperoni of the grilled pepperoni starter. The staff was rude and uninterested. Never again for me!!!!

Where do I start… The food was inexpensive and delicious. The many small appetizers are also highly recommended. Unfortunately the service was bottom drawer. The glasses were forgotten when the drinks were served. When you do it again, the lemons appear. When taking the order (8 people), one of our ladies asked for a children's plate (since her health prevents consumption of larger quantities), this was refused. We had 2x the all you can eat offer and 5x starter + skin course. 3x large bottles of mineral water and 8 cocktails. When one of the ladies gave our one lady some of her main course (one of 4 Suflaki skewers), the waiter came and forbade her to eat... Unfortunately, this was impossible behavior... When we asked to call the boss to clarify the situation, we were turned away. Very unfortunate... And it's unfortunate when you're asked to come to the table as a boss and don't think it's necessary to come to the table... Very arrogant. Then you could have convinced yourself that it wasn't all you can eat! It's good that you can buy good reviews these days!

The food is rather mediocre. The mezzedes are mostly cold or reheated inferior dishes. The concept is more like classic mass processing. The service is characterized by incompetence, arrogance and unfriendliness. The whole thing is topped in a negative sense by the owner!

Wo fang ich an… Das Essen war preiswert und lecker. Auch die vielen kleinen Vorspeisen sehr zu empfehlen. Leider war der Service unterste Schublade. Beim Servieren der Getränke wurden die Gläser vergessen. Beim erneuten erscheinen die Zitrone. Bei der Aufnahme der Bestellung (8 Personen) bat eine unserer Damen um einen Kinderteller (da gesundheitlich kein Verzehr größerer Mengen möglich) dies wurde abgelehnt. Wir hatten 2x das all you can eat Angebot und 5x Vorspeise + Hautgang. 3x große Flaschen Mineralwasser und 8 Cocktails. Als eine der Damen unserer einen Damen etwas von Ihrem Hauptgang abgab (einen von 4 Suflaki Spießen) kam schon der Kellner und verbot ihr das Essen… Leider ein unmögliches Verhalten… Auf Bitten unserer Seite den Chef zu holen um die Situation aufzuklären wurden wir abgewiesen. Sehr schade… Und bedauerlich wenn man als Chef aufgefordert wird und es nicht für nötig hält an den Tisch zu kommen… Sehr arrogant.

War nicht möglich, aber kein Problem dann sollte sie von mir von meiner Vorspeise und von einer anderen von dem Hauptgang etwas abbekommen. Alles in allem war unsere Gruppe sehr gute Esser und sehr gute Trinker. Als die operierte Dame dann von meiner Vorspeise und von dem anderen hauptgang etwas abbekam kam der Kellner und verbat ihr das Essen! Sie dürfe nochts essen denm sie hätte auch nichts bestellt. Auf Nachfrage nach dem Chef wurde gesagt der wäre nicht da. Der chef hat sich verleugnen lassen! Zur Info, sie hat nicht bei dem mezedes Buffet mitgegessen sondern bei reel bestellten vor und Hauptspeisen. Nicht einen bissen von dem buffet hat sie auch nur angerührt! Gegessen hat sie 1 stück von dem hauptgang des souvlaki und 3 peperoni der vorspeise gegrillte peperoni.Das Personal war frech und desinteressiert. Für mich nie wieder!!!!

Wir waren gestern mit 8 Frauen im Mezedes zum Essen .Freundlich wurden wir empfangen und dann auf Terrasse geführt . Schönes Ambiente ..Wir bestellten 5 Hauptgerichte , Vorspeisen , Cocktails . Eine unserer Freundinnen kann aufgrund einer Magen OP nur kleine Portionen zu sich nehmen und hat um eine Kinderportion . Dies wurde abgelehnt. Wir baten um Nachfrage beim Chef … nach kurzer Zeit kam dann die Bedienung zurück mit der Aussage das der Chef mit einer kleinen Portion einverstanden wäre , wenn der volle Preis für die große Portion gezahlt wird . Nochmals wurde von uns drauf hingewiesen das die Dame nur Mini Portionen essen könnte . Die Bedienung fragte wie sie das nachvollziehen könnte. Darauf wurde er von uns hingewiesen das es einen Ausweis über die OP gibt . Wurde von der Bedienung nur abgewunken… unmögliches Verhalten . 2 Frauen haben sich für das all you can eat Angebot entschieden.. in der Beschreibung steht das dort nur die 2 Personen von essen dürften … völlig klar… für uns absolut in Ordnung . Nachdem dann das Essen serviert wurde , wurden wir mit Adleraugen beobachtet ob nicht doch jemand vom all you can war mit essen würde … schon absolut lächerlich… die Dame die nicht viel essen kann hat dann von den anderen Personen die kein Buffet sondern ganz normale Portionen bestellt haben etwas probiert .( Da sie ja keine kleine Portion bestellen durfte )Sofort kam die Bedienung und hat sie aufgefordert nichts zu essen … wir machten dann drauf aufmerksam das sie sich nicht vom Buffet bedient hat und verlangten den Chef zu sprechen …der dann angeblich nicht mehr im Restaurants war… unglaublich… wir kommen alle aus Familienbetrieben … so würden wir mit keinem Kunden umgehen . In anderen Bewertungen schreibt der Chef er hätte gesehen das die Dame sich vom Buffet bedient hätte ..und bezichtigt uns der Lüge …frag mich wie er es gesehen haben will wenn er angeblich nicht vor Ort war um auf unser Verlangen die Angelegenheit am Tisch zu klären …hat er sich verleugnen lassen um sein Gesicht vor den anderen Gästen nicht zu verlieren??? Schade das der Chef unseren Abend im Mezedes in sehr unangenehmer Erinnerung gebracht hat . Ich hoffe für die Bedienung das der Chef ihm das entgangene Trinkgeld ersetzt hat … Und sieht man. Dort trotz gutem Essen bestimmt nicht wieder … Mundpropaganda ist die beste Werbung .. ist dem Chef wohl entgangen

A slightly different Greek when it comes to the menu. You should definitely try Mezedes once. Really delicious. Unfortunately, it was quite crowded that evening, which resulted in an extremely noisy environment, so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation with the person opposite.

Service was subpar and the concept was a complete rip off! You can't unsubscribe from the mezzedes and what's on the table has to be eaten, otherwise you won't get any more mezzedes! When I pointed out to the "boss" that it was a complete waste to serve food that wasn't eaten even though the service staff had been informed about it in advance, he said, "That's our concept!"

Mezedes until you're full... Great variety, absolutely recommended.

Nice atmosphere and deco, but the food and service was poor. Tasted like premade freezer/store bought greek food and costed 10x as much. Not recommended for authentic greek food or reasonable prices. Service was mediocre, server regularly seemed confused.

Absolut empfehlenswert!! Alles ist toll; Service, Essen, Preis/ Leistung. Sauberkeit. Habe bisher noch kein vergleichbares Meze in Deutschland gegessen!! Vielen Dank für eure Mühe und den Einsatz. Ihr liebt Gäste!
