Mexcal in Bremen

The restaurant is pleasant, the tables and the bar are attractive. The food was below average. It wasn't freshly prepared and tasted bad due to the fact that it was warmed up. The waitress didn't deny my displeasure with the warmed up food, so it can be assumed that the food wasn't freshly prepared. As soon as I ordered, I noticed that there were countless dishes on the menu. Definitely around 40. A restaurant can't possibly make that many dishes without compromising on quality. I wouldn't eat here again.

The Mexcal Bremen impresses at first glance with a really stylish and inviting ambience. The decor is modern, cozy and fits the Mexican theme perfectly. The staff is also a big plus: The employees are friendly, attentive and work quickly, which ensures everything runs smoothly. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to our expectations, especially in terms of value for money. Although the taste of the dishes is okay, the prices seem far too high for the relatively small portions and the quality on offer. One gets the feeling that the focus here is more on the atmosphere than on a balanced offering. Overall, Mexcal is a nice place for a special evening if you value a great ambience. However, if you expect a good price-performance ratio, you might be disappointed here.

Found the restaurant by chance on Google Maps because we were in the mood for Mexican. The food & service was really excellent! Even our native “Mexico expert”, who emigrated from México to Germany two years ago, thought it was really tasty 👍 We definitely recommend the restaurant

We were there on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was fully booked. The food was fresh, came after a reasonable wait and tasted very good. The service was very friendly and on point! We found the background noise to be a bit tiring and the one star deduction is because of the borderline women's toilet.

Super delicious food, unfortunately the noise level is so loud that you can barely have a conversation at the table.

There were two of us and we had made a reservation for Saturday evening. You should definitely do that too, because the store was packed. We were welcomed very friendly, showed us our seats and handed us the menu cards straight away. Just two minutes later, the drink requests were received and arrived promptly. The time between the ordering of the food and its delivery was very short given the huge volume of activity. What stood out was the volume. Sure, the store is full and people are talking to each other. But there is nothing that can prevent the propagation of sound. Maybe you should think about a few decorative, thematically adapted textiles on the ceiling. The food was excellent, the service was always friendly, attentive and accommodating, everything was brought quickly and we sat very comfortably. The prices have certainly been adapted to current developments in the catering industry. Ten years ago you could go out to eat for two for €60, but today you have to pay around €90. But that's not just the case here. Bottom line: We liked it a lot and we will definitely come back. Oh: parking is not that easy. But in the city center you should prepare yourself to perhaps have to walk a few steps.

We asked at short notice whether there was anything available for two people (with a dog!). Yes, no problem, gladly! We ordered the Asado platter. Very tasty! Tender and tasty meat, crunchy vegetables, crispy wedges. Service was very attentive, quick, personal and attentive! The cocktail was also available during happy hour just before close!

The food was super tasty, we were a bit spoiled when it came to the portion size from the Ruhr region, but it was ok. Happy hour with cocktails very good and tasty, the wife was drunk after a Mai Tai 😂. The only thing I expected more was the music on a Friday evening. When we are back in Bremen we will come back, unfortunately it wasn't full either.

Very well prepared steak with delicious side dishes, very well seasoned. We were greeted very nicely and got a table straight away. The menu has a large selection and we also had the mixed tappas platter for two people and couldn't finish it. And I also love Spanish music, which puts you in the holiday mood. A little too loud if you want to have a conversation. The waitresses are attentive and very nice. We enjoyed our stay and it's fun to try something different from the menu every now and then.

How a boss can voluntarily give up so much money is a mystery to me. By the way, the restaurant wasn't even half full.

At certain times there are also delicious cocktails at happy hour. The service is really great and you are always asked at regular intervals whether everything is good and whether you would like to order anything else.

It was a spontaneous visit without a reservation on a Saturday evening. There were still a few free places. Actually not a good sign on the best day of the week to go to a restaurant. In the end, we were completely satisfied and our expectations were exceeded. We ate at Fajitas, which I can only recommend. The taste is really great, but not exactly cheap either. The service was attentive and super friendly. There was also a cocktail happy hour, which also tasted really good. All in all, a spontaneous but really very convincing visit. We had a good time. Simply great. Mexican cuisine is delicious. Our fajitas were served warm and topped with a few ingredients. The refried beans are very tasty. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. The cocktails are available as happy hour from 6 p.m. There was a bit of a drag because the door was open. A jacket helps with this.

We were there with a larger group - without prior registration. No problem on Sunday afternoon. The food is good for most; A little more oomph (meaning spiciness) could be needed (despite ordering 'spicy'). Season with the red sauce. Service was quick, you have to like the atmosphere.

The staff is not unfriendly, but unfortunately not attentive or warm either. We weren't even asked during the meal if we wanted something to drink or if it tasted good. We then ordered our drinks at the bar, but they took forever. It's bad when you can't eat your main course because you're thirsty and the food then gets cold.

Essen war sehr lecker; Service super; sehr freundliches und sympathisches Personal. Gute Adresse in Bremen.

Leider schlechter als noch vor einigen Jahren. Geflügel war gummiartig. Da die Grillstreifen auch nicht knusprig waren, vermutlich gefroren und überlagert. Die Kritik daran wurde von der Kellnerin freundlich aufgenommen, aber das war es auch. Wir weichen nun auf andere mexikanische Restaurants aus.

Anyone travelling to Bremen should head here! I was on a solo trip and looking for somewhere. Good authentic atmosphere, fast service and great proportions and they made my favourite margaritas - couldn’t fault it to be honest - thanks again!!

Das Essen und die Cocktails waren sehr lecker, aber der Platz am Tisch sehr eng. Unbedingt einen Tisch reservieren, wenn man dort Essen gehen möchte.

Ein tolles Restaurant mit wunderbaren Ambiente und leckere Hähnchen Fajita und Suppe für guten Preisen.

Das ist doch wohl nicht normal! Wir haben am 2. Weihnachtstag einen Tisch bestellt. Erst viel viel später wurde der Laden geöffnet. Wobei wir noch nicht mal die einzigen waren!
