Meral Imbiss in Frankfurt am Main

Super, hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Auch wenn es nicht 1:1 ist habe ich mich wie in İstanbul gefühlt. Danke:)

Leckerer Döner. Interessante Kombi es auch mal mit Fisch zu machen! Ich hatte leider ein Haar im Döner, was ich jetzt aber nicht groß einfließen lasse, kann passieren. Der Sitzplatz auf dem Boot ist auch echt schön gewesen. Insgesamt 4,23 Sterne für mich.

Ein ganz besonderes Team-Event auf dem Boot. Das Foto zeigt nur die Vorspeisen !!! Danach ging es mit einer ebenso großen Vielfalt an Hauptspeisen weiter (beim Nachtisch haben wir kapituliert und nur noch ein ganz kleines Bisschen gegessen). Wir waren alle begeistert. Super lecker, tolle Vielfalt, netter Service, schönes Ambiente und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis hat absolut gestimmt!

Der Herr war sehr freundlich! Und die Qualität war sehr gut.

Ein Spaziergang am Main in Frankfurt, im Schatten der Wolkenkratzer, und plötzlich fühlt man sich wie in Eminönü oder in einem Fischrestaurant am Bosporus? Fischbrötchen inmitten der Plätze von Europas Finanzzentrum zu genießen, ist unserer Meinung nach ein wirklich einzigartiges und genussvolles Erlebnis! Auch Frankfurts Büroangestellte wissen das; in ihren Mittagspausen bilden sich lange Schlangen davor.

Wir bestellten eine Makrele und eine Dorade. Die Makrele war leider sehr schlecht; wir zahlten den Differenzbetrag und tauschten sie gegen Dorade um. Vielen Dank für Ihre Hilfe. Ich finde jedoch, dass Sie den Fisch hätten prüfen sollen, bevor Sie ihn auf das Brot gelegt haben. Die dazu servierten grünen Paprika und Essiggurken waren sehr gut.

Der Service war furchtbar – die Kellner belästigten mich ständig, weil ich auf einem ihrer Stühle saß. Sie glaubten mir nicht, dass ich in ihrem Lokal etwas zu trinken gekauft hatte (angeblich verkauften sie das gar nicht?), obwohl ich ihnen mehrmals bestätigt hatte, dass ich es getan hatte und dies auch gerne mit der Kassiererin, die die Zahlung entgegennahm, abklärte. Sehr unhöflich.

Einzigartig in Frankfurt, hier muss man mal einen Fischdöner probieren! Sardellen haben uns besonders gut geschmeckt!

Rustikales Bistro auf einem alten Schiff direkt am Mainufer.Hier hat man eine tolle Aussicht bei leckeren Getränken und Speisen.

Tolle Sache, einen leckeren Hamsi-Döner aus dem Boot gereicht bekommen, Decken und Liegen stehen bereit zum genüsslichen Essen. Und der nette junge Mann mit Brille hat mir noch einen Tee vorbeigebracht. Das ist richtig Urlaubsfeeling. Dankeschön! P.S.: Kein Alkohol fänd ich besser.

Auf der anderen Seite der Untermainbrücke – einer Brücke, über die Autos den Main überqueren können – befindet sich Meral Imbiss. Bei den Einheimischen ist Meral Imbiss auch als „Dönerboot“ bekannt. Hier kann man Döner essen und ihn entweder direkt auf dem Boot genießen oder, wie wir, auf einer der Picknickdecken auf der grünen Wiese daneben. An diesem Nachmittag aßen wir einen Döner (10 Euro), einen Wrap (7 Euro) und tranken eine Cola (3 Euro). Der Döner war riesig, aus türkischem Fladenbrot und reichlich gefüllt. Nachdem wir uns hingesetzt hatten, kam die Sonne heraus und wir genossen das Essen, die Sonne und den Blick auf die Frankfurter Skyline jenseits des Mains. Meral Imbiss is an absolute highlight in Frankfurt for me! 🌟 The moment you arrive, the location right on the Main River with a stunning view of the skyline is impressive – that alone is unique. But the real highlight is the food: The fish platters are a delight of the highest quality – always fresh, perfectly grilled, and prepared with love. The fish doner kebab is, in my opinion, unbeatable: crispy bread, juicy fish, and aromatic side dishes that perfectly complement each other. You won't find anything else like it in Frankfurt. Kudos to the chef and the entire team: friendly, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You immediately feel welcome and notice that quality and hospitality are paramount here. We had a calamari kebab and to my surprise it was really tasty! Fresh bread, lots of vegetables, and great flavor. Highly recommend!

Dry food that tastes like nothing, wants money back

Nice setting by the river. Nice view. However, the fish wasn't that good. The sea bream was nice, not bad, but the anchovies were overcooked and dry.

We went to Meral Imbiss on the banks of the Main River in Frankfurt today and ordered a hamsi sandwich. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment: The anchovies tasted old, were rubbery, and hard to chew. It seemed as if they had been prepared beforehand and then simply reheated before being served—which would also explain why the food was served so quickly. In the end, we even had to throw the sandwich away. On top of that, the prices are truly unreasonably high compared to the quality. Overall, a not a good experience.

Absolutely delicious! The fish doner (fish bread) at Meral Imbiss is highly recommended – freshly grilled fish, perfectly seasoned, served with a crisp salad and delicious bread. If you're looking for something different from the classic doner in Frankfurt, you should definitely stop by!

A lovely snack boat on the Main River. Good, simple food at reasonable prices, and if you snag a seat on the upper deck, it's like a day's vacation in Istanbul. Erdogan or not. There are also nice seating areas on the banks of the Main River where you can spend the day with a view of the skyline.

Unfortunately, the doner kebab in flatbread is not recommended at all. It was very greasy and tasted more like reheated meat. I was fine eating the salad in the bread, but unfortunately, I had to throw away the rest. For €10, that's definitely too much. The ambiance is great, but the loud music playing on the deck is annoying. We won't be coming back.

You're sitting right on the boat – and the ambiance is truly fantastic! The atmosphere gives you real Turkish vibes: water all around and a feeling of vacation. That alone makes a visit almost worthwhile. The food, however, unfortunately didn't quite measure up. The fish doner kebabs were okay, but nothing special. The doner kebab was unfortunately unevenly topped – almost all meat on one side, just salad on the other. That was rather mediocre. The value for money is also average. For the relatively high prices, I would have liked more care and taste. Overall, the ambiance is top-notch and creates a real vacation feeling – but the food still has room for improvement. If you come for the view and atmosphere, you'll enjoy it. If you come primarily for the food, you might be disappointed.

Das Boot kenne ich ich von früheren Spaziergängen am Main. Es war immer eine lange Schlange am Boot. Endlich kam jetzt die Möglichkeit, es auszuprobieren. Ich hatte das erste Mal den Fischdöner mit Makrelen. Mein Hunger wurde leider nicht gestillt. Das Fladenbrot zerfiel an allen Ecken. Die Makrelenen waren knusprig, aber mehr auch leider nicht. Schade, viele Zutaten fielen raus, da das Pide leider nicht so dolle war. Preislich leider auch nicht im Verhältnis. Das Essen von der Begleitung blieb leider auch unter den Erwartungen. Nach Jahren, wo mir das Boot bekannt ist, kann ich den Hype leider nicht verstehen. Das typische gastfreundliche haben wir leider auch nicht erlebt. Die Umstände sind bestimmt hart, auf so einem kleinen Boot alles arbeitstechnisch unter zu bringen, vor allem bei warmen Wetter. Jedoch kam kein Bosporus Feeling bei uns auf. Echt schade

The food is always delicious and filling

In one word, hygiene is zero. Bugs came out of the greenery. We left it as it was and went away.

Meral's Imbiss is more than just a place to eat – it's a feeling, a piece of living culture on the banks of the Main River. With true cult status, celebrated in documentaries and TV series, this snack bar has long since become an integral part of the Frankfurt soul. What makes this place so special isn't just the exceptional selection: fish doner, spicy kofte, grilled Adana, and homemade chips – all fresh, authentic, and prepared with love. It's the owner's vision that is palpable: quality, warmth, and hospitality, as you would expect from Turkey. Anyone strolling along the Main River should definitely stop, enjoy a fish doner, and sip Turkish tea to feel like they're home for a moment – ​​or like a welcome guest in a new city.

I saw the video of "Moodi Foodi Berlin" on YouTube. And, well, hygiene is very poor; the way he washes his hands alone is a disaster. Then his "portioning," the amount of meat/fish he puts in the bread, is completely unjustified by the price of €9 and more he charges... That's a real shame. Because the atmosphere and authenticity are great. But the nice man is a bit stingy. I'd rather walk 5 minutes over to TONBUL, pay €10, and at least get something for it. But hey, if you like it. ✌️

Hamsi was very dry, fried too long

Everything was clearly marked. I ordered mackerel. There were seven of us there, and our orders were taken quickly and prepared within minutes. They even gave us extra chips and tea on the house. The owners were really friendly and chatted with us. Everything was great; we'll definitely come again.

Very unpleasant owner or employee who swung at me with a Makita hand blower as I rode past on my bike. It was super tight, I rang the bell so people wouldn't be scared when I drove past. The gut feeling of the employee or owner decided that I was going too fast. The only reaction he knows is to threaten people with blows with his handheld fan. Very clever, of course, because then you tend to swerve on your bike. Not so good when it's already tight. An appropriate reaction would perhaps be to draw the city's attention to separating cycle and pedestrian paths on the Main with lines. Very unpleasant encounter and I don't think I'll get any more food here.

One of Frankfurt's 10/10 places

When we plan a bike ride at the weekend, we usually go to Meral’s Imbiss to have lunch. The anchovy kebab is my absolute favorite, my wife loves the baby calamari, but the salad plate is also really great with fresh salad, fried vegetables (aubergine, peppers, zucchini), cheese, börek and the salad dressing is also very tasty. For the kids there are usually homemade chips and a Dürüm kebab. Afterwards you can also have a cup of tea to round it off. Oh yes, the homemade lemonade also tastes very good and is refreshing. The owner is also very concerned about cleanliness and quality. We've been enjoying coming here for years and it's become a real institution for our kids too :-)

Went there on the first really good sunny day of the year, for the first time ever. Really good choice for a chilled and delicious lunch with mini holiday flair for an hour☀️☀️ Everything has already been written about the food, prices are ok, food is served quickly, drinks are cool, and you can also sit on the boat at the top 🛥 The iconic thing was that you can lie on picnic blankets with small tables and see the Main and the skyline. Conclusion: A little vacation in the middle of the city🏖

We were here for a snack at the public viewing and ate a kebab with sea bream fillet. We enjoyed it very much and the location with the Frankfurt skyline is of course unbeatable, especially in the evening. The only thing is that the price isn't exactly cheap considering the portion, but since it was tasty, it's all good... Definitely something different.

What is being sold is just DISGUSTING. Today we bought food for 75 euros and everything was really inedible and dipped in old fat!!!!!

It's a place to go without expecting too much. Especially for those who care about cleanliness. I can't think of places we haven't seen when even the places that customers see are not this clean. Also, I can't say anything about the greens inside the fish being yellow and rotten. There are wet wipes that every fisherman should have, but there was no room here, which is a big deficiency for a fisherman. The spider webs around also contribute to the atmosphere.

Doner kebab in Frankfurt, but feels like on the Bosphorus! I've been walking by Meral regularly for years, and today I finally got myself a fish kebab. In my opinion, the boat that sells fish kebab in Frankfurt on the banks of the Main has long had legendary status! The fish kebab comes with various options, for example with sea bream, baby calamari or mackerel. Both the kebab with calamari and sea bream were really tasty. Service was friendly and quick, and after 5 p.m., despite the weekend, we were allowed to go onto the ship's deck and make ourselves comfortable at the cozy table in the shade. Truly a sensational experience, and with the fish in the kebab a truly wild and absolutely unique experience!

We had ordered anchovies kebab. The anchovies were pre-fried and served cold. The chips were soggy. The food simply had no taste. Unfortunately, hygiene is also lacking. The waitress had gloves on, took the cash and handed out the food with the same glove. There is a seating area on the deck where you can sit down, but that's not recommended because everything sticks and wobbles. The only thing that was nice was that it was on the Main Promenade.

This combination of good food and a relaxing atmosphere is simply unbeatable. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, especially the boss, who makes you feel welcome. The warmth and excellent service make a significant contribution to making you feel completely comfortable. Another highlight is the meadow behind the snack bar, where children can play to their heart's content. This makes the visit a pleasure for the whole family. You hardly notice that you are in a snack bar - it almost feels like you are on vacation. I always enjoy coming here and am already looking forward to my next visit. An all-round successful place that impresses both in terms of cuisine and atmosphere. Gladly again!

Brilliant. Amazing veggie / vegetarisch options. I had the vegetarian döner - it was amazing; full of tasty aubergine, red and green peppers, onions, lettuce, feta, yoghurt amongst others. The fresh lemonade was great. Would highly recommend.

The food is a bit bland and dry, but could use some of the sauces that come with it. The fish is very fatty and was not cooked before serving, but it probably wouldn’t work any other way with so many customers. I didn’t like the bread yet; in my opinion, a baguette would be more convenient to eat and would go better with this dish. The atmosphere is great, they stay open until night, to our surprise 🙃 This is certainly not the same ikmek as in Istanbul, but overall it’s interesting!

A touch of Bosphorus feeling. The Meral Imbiss is a kebab snack bar that also offers very tasty fish and is housed in a small boat directly on the Main. You can sit on the boat deck to eat or stand in front of it on the quay. The owner is very friendly and happy to advise guests. He is also happy to accommodate any special requests. There is now also a lunch menu there, which costs between 10 euros (e.g. kebab plate with drink) and 12 euros (e.g. calamari plate with drink). All dishes are very tasty and when you eat them on the boat deck with a view over the Main, you feel a little like you are on the Bosphorus. An absolute recommendation for me is to walk along the Main and stop at the Döner Boat Meral.

The food isn't that great, but the location is great

Recently a cell phone accidentally fell into the Main on the jetty between the safety net and the jetty. Because the customer felt sorry for him, Meral contacted us order hunters from Ringjäger and I was allowed to search for it. The phone lay at a depth of around 1.5m for about two days and I was able to retrieve it after a few minutes. The phone worked and still had 43 percent battery left. Afterwards I was allowed to wash on the ship and got a delicious kebab. The flatbread was crispy, the vegetables were freshly cut and the meat was pleasantly seasoned and browned. Unfortunately I'm not from Frankfurt, otherwise I would definitely stop by spontaneously on a regular basis. Meral's heart is in the right place and the kebab tastes great. The idea of ​​the kebab boat is unique and brilliant, I give it five stars. So if you get hungry on the way to the public viewing, you should know Meral's kebab boat, because a fresh kebab is always good :)

Nice idea, there's a problem with the implementation! We had a mackerel kebab and a bag of homemade chips. The chips were cold and partly wobbly. The flatbread didn't seem fresh and the salad was yellowed. There was no sauce & everything smelled like old fat. I don't know if we just had a "bad day" or if that was the usual quality that is offered there. Unfortunately, the taste and quality of the food was subpar. With the best will in the world, I can't make any recommendations here! To us the whole thing seemed more like a “tourist trap”. You can expect something different given the prices. Unfortunately that was nothing. We're definitely not coming back.

The kebab boat is easy to find and a nice place to eat a kebab. The prices are relatively high (e.g. €9 for a doner kebab). However, there is hardly a better atmosphere to eat a kebab than directly on the Main in good weather.

Guided by the many positive recommendations, we as a group wanted to try it out. Since there were 10 of us, we called to find out whether there were vegetarian/vegan alternatives and whether there were free places. Both were affirmed. The selection of alternative dishes was reduced to "potato chips" and the classic kebabs and the price-performance ratio was not particularly good. There is no service. Neither to help, clear away, clean (unfortunately that's what it looked like in the catering area) or for repeat orders. Always get off the ship and go to the sales counter, get in line, etc. It may have just been unfortunate that day, but the 10 of us don't go there anymore.

아이젤너 다리 건너 걷다가 생선 케밥집이 있어서 점심겸 저녁을 해결합니다. 생선, 샐러드, 구운 빵, 그리고 생선 튀김 전용 드레싱까지. 9유로인데 먹을만 해요. 가게 옆 캠핑의자에서 마인강 바라보니 더 운치 있고 좋네요.
