Mera Masala - Indian Tandoori Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

The food didn't blow us away, and it's too expensive overall. We don't recommend it.

At first, it was nice and inviting. When the waiter came over immediately and wanted to take my order, I hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu. Since I'd already had a delicious Indian meal somewhere else but didn't know the name of the dish, I tried to describe what was in it. Without really listening to me, he told me the name of a dish that had chicken and rice, but not the other delicious ingredients. I mentioned peanut, coconut, curry sauce with rice and chicken. Unfortunately, I first got chicken and rice in a tomato sauce 🙄. So I went to the waiter and asked if I could see what he had brought me on the menu. Of course, that didn't work with what I had ordered. Oh well, okay. I showed him "Chicken Korma" on the menu. That didn't come with the ingredients I knew, as requested, either. Instead, I was served chicken in lentil soup. Totally annoyed and hungry, I ate it, but it didn't taste good. I also didn't like the fact that the waiter repeatedly acted like everything was fine, even though I politely complained a few times. It's a real shame; I wish he'd listened to me properly for once. 😑 Not recommended.

To be honest, I didn't feel full. I thought the seasoning was good, but the food was relatively small in quantity. Pries's performance is poor, in my opinion.

A few years ago, new owners, and I no longer suffer from what I used to. The food is mediocre, especially since I've become extremely loyal. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

A very tasty Indian restaurant with amazing service and top-quality dishes. Every detail feels perfect, from the flavorful food to the attentive staff. The mango lassi is standout, and the vegetarian options are amazing. A wonderful choice for a flavorful, well-rounded dining experience.

Some of the food was really good. The butter chicken was unfortunately a bit dry, but the flavor was very good. BUT the second dish, which was lamb, had much more tender meat, but unfortunately, something about it seemed to have gone off. My husband had a stomach bug all night afterward... The waiters and the atmosphere were great and very authentic.

The Mera Masala restaurant on Sandweg impresses with extremely friendly service and a pleasant ambiance. The location is good, even if noisy cars occasionally drive past on the street—but that's hardly avoidable. Unfortunately, the food was only mediocre, which was a bit disappointing, as the rest of the menu was really good.

Mera Masala offers truly delicious Indian cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes are very tasty, though not exceptional. The creamy mango lassi is particularly noteworthy and goes perfectly with the meal. A nice bonus is that you're served some bread with various dips at the beginning. The service is courteous and attentive. The prices, however, are on the higher side, but this is still justifiable given the quality.

The best Indian restaurant in Frankfurt. Extremely polite and competent staff. Beautiful venue in a fantastic location. The food is extremely delicious. I've rarely eaten Indian food of this quality, and I enjoy eating Indian food often. We had two classics: butter chicken and chicken tikka. No dry meat, extremely flavorful sauce, and delicious rice. 10/10, we'll be coming more often now.

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal hier und waren wieder sehr zufrieden mit dem hervorragenden und herzlichen Service und der Qualität der Speisen. Auch bei die Weinauswahl ist sehr gelungen mit top Weissweinen vom Winzer aus der Pfalz und guter Beratung. Wir können das Mera Masala absolut weiterempfehlen.

The food was delicious. We have no complaints about it. The only thing that bothered us was that people came to the table so often to clear plates. You felt rushed to finish the starter and main course quickly. You'd only finish eating for ten seconds and they'd already start clearing away. This interrupted our conversation several times. Asking once or twice if everything was okay is perfectly fine. But we found this coming to the table every five minutes to clear empty plates while you were eating extremely unpleasant and annoying. Perhaps more attention should be paid to letting customers eat in peace.

Four of us were there yesterday. The food was cold, and the gol gapa sauce wasn't Indian-style. The taste was okay, but not particularly tasty. The lamb was good, but the chicken wasn't so good.

Mera Masala is a super delicious restaurant with a lovely ambiance. We were there today with the whole family, and we were taken care of excellently. Great service, friendly staff, and very attentive. The ingredients were all fresh and delicious, and we even got a free espresso at the end :)

We called and ordered take away - great naan bread and currys! We loved them!

Samosas were decent. Tandoori chicken and spinach dish were decent but greasier than I’m comfortable with.

Visited for the first time to celebrate an occasion. As it was mid-week, less crowded. So getting a nice corner table and quick service was not an issue. No complaints about Veg dishes but my teenage son was not impressed with the chicken dishes he had ordered. Though we ordered dessert platter, Veg Thali for that price range missing a dessert is a no-go for me. We have had better experiences in few other restaurants when we had gone for celebrations..service could improve in that area.

Two stars because the quality of the food is really good (otherwise, it would only get one star). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the rest of the restaurant. Ninety seconds after paying the bill, we were unequivocally asked to leave the restaurant because "the table was being used by other paying guests" (even though about a third of the tables were empty and no waiting guests were visible). Friends and acquaintances have had similar experiences with this restaurant, so this is not an isolated incident, or rather, a "misunderstanding." Negative reviews also seem to be deleted quickly after they appear at the owner's instigation, which raises questions about the "top rating"...

Very (and child-friendly) friendly. Super delicious food. Previously, we'd start with papadums and various dips as a welcome from the kitchen, but that's been phased out, probably as part of the general changes – a shame.

Today visited this place on recommendation of my friend Ravi. The food is delicious with authentic taste. Polite staff and a restaurant with good Indian decor and ambience.

Today we went to a restaurant with the B-my Frankfurt voucher. It was a complete disaster, because according to the voucher, they only allowed us to order one main course, and they wanted us to order a drink even though it wasn't included in the voucher! It's a total scam! You should stand by what you stand for. We specifically chose the restaurant so that we shouldn't order a drink. Some people aren't allowed to order anything with their meal, and that should be respected.

I would like to thank you very much for the wonderful culinary experience. The food was simply fantastic and really reminded me of my trip to India - authentic, tasteful and prepared with so much love. Every bite was a delight! However, I noticed that the staff seemed a little stressed that day, which was unfortunately reflected in a rather rushed atmosphere, hence a star deduction for service. Nevertheless, I would like to say a special thank you for the fact that my small request to charge my cell phone was so kindly responded to. That was very attentive and made my visit even easier so that I could then find my way home using Google Maps. All in all, it was a great experience and I look forward to eating with you again soon.

Unfortunately, the value for money here isn't right. The food was okay – the "spicy" curry was very mild and average, and the chicken was quite dry. There was plenty of rice, and the garlic naan was very tasty. You can get better and much cheaper elsewhere. However, the prices are very high for a dish of this type, and neither the ambiance nor the service could compensate for the unspectacular food. I wouldn't recommend it.

Very tasty Indian food at a good price. We ordered various curry dishes with rice and naan. All dishes had a very aromatic and unique flavor. I would recommend making a reservation in the evening if you're coming with three or more people. We'd be happy to come back. 😀🍛🫓

Very nicely decorated place, friendly staff. The food however is very average. It looks good, but is very bland. Clearly everything has been adapted to the German palate and has therefore been rendered dull, flavourless and boring. Would recommend to those who have no experience with eating "exotic" food, but definitely not a place to come for a curry aficionado.

Definitely loved this place , the food was amazing ! And I was very impressed by how warm it was up to the point I decided to stop eating because the portion was also really big ! The staff was also very nice and the service was quick .

Das Essen war sehr gut! Service bzw das Personal sehr nett. Wir haben Vorspeisen und Hauptgericht bestellt! Die Vorspeisen kamen schnell, jedoch die Hauptgerichte kamen zuspät, so dass wir kein großartigen Hinger mehr hatten. Aber ansonsten war alles dennoch sehr schön! Würden gerne da nochmal essen gehen!

I visited this restaurant with a friend, and we had the Butter Chicken Tikka Masala. The dish was delicious but overpriced , just I didn’t like that we were given just one portion of rice to share instead of separate servings. I also had the Mango Lillet drink, which was very enjoyable. We received a complimentary mango shot and some sauces before starting the meal, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere was pleasant, but I found the service stuff is a bit too attentive. They hovered around, and as soon as we finished eating, they immediately cleared our plates, which I found slightly annoying. Overall, though, the experience was good.

Super delicious food. We were there in a larger group and it tasted great. The service was also very nice and accommodating. We'll definitely be back.

I came by with my wife and my daughter The food was very bad. I'm sorry I should not say something that brutally honest, but the food was terrible. The only saving grace was the chicken lollipop for appetizers, and that was it. The main course memna curry was disgusting the tandoori platter the kebabs were a joke small bits I had to spit them out because they had a very bad stinxh in the meat. we left our main courses, completely untouched. The garlic naan was lukewarm. The service was unattended. They were very friendly to my daughter, but friendliness doesn't make up for the bad food, which was terrible. I'm sorry, but we will not be visiting again . we left our main course completely uneaten. I went directly to the bar and asked for the bill and they didn't even care to ask why we didn't finish our main course or was there anything they could do nothing so in point of customer service a big zero

The food was very tasty, the service was very friendly, but unfortunately it was very loud in the restaurant and you could hardly understand the person you were talking to.

We were here yesterday for the New Year's Eve menu. All we can say is: Never again! To a completely disorganized process (the courses came without regard to the order or progress of the guests and were slammed onto the table without comment. The food was, to say the least, rather mediocre and absolutely not appropriate for the price. You felt like you were in one Canteen with mass processing. If you want to enjoy really good Indian food, you should try the Pearl Garden in Bad Camberg.

Loved our experience here. We celebrated New Years Eve dinner at Mera Masala and it truly felt like it was New Years. They decorated the restaurant and made it look really pretty. The food was phenomenal. High quality and elevated Indian cuisine that transported us to their homeland. The service was on point too. We enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend.

Wonderful service from friendly waiting staff, and speedily delivered to the table. You can also request heat adjustment depending on how hot you like your food. Will definitely be coming back.

I had a really nice late night snack-chai here on the weekend. We sat outside, it was warm despite the cold winds, the ambience was cozy. 🥰 Slurping a cup of chai which reminded me of home along with munching on some crispy samosas, street food style- Gobi Manchurian and pakodas...😍 Interesting conversations with the owner topped off our night! We're looking forward to our next visit!😇

Unfortunately I'm not satisfied at all. The chicken was super tough, the curry sauce didn't taste at all, it was like buying cheap chicken pieces and ready-made curry sauce in the supermarket and mixing them together. Only the rice was normal, as rice tastes like : ) I like to eat Indian food a lot but that was the most bland Indian food I've ever eaten. Actually it wasn't Indian food, but German with some kind of curry sauce. I didn't even like the mango lassi because it was so sweet that I could barely drink it.
