Mensa Cafeteria, MEDICAL FACULTY MANNHEIM in Mannheim

I am writing the review from the perspective of a student and celiac disease patient. There are rarely gluten-free dishes, on average 1-2 dishes per week (not even dishes where you can simply leave out ingredients because even the sauces are made with wheat flour as a binding agent instead of a naturally gluten-free ingredient such as corn or potato starch). You cannot rely on the cafeteria plan. It happened that entire daily schedules were swapped for another day of the week. This makes the whole thing even more difficult. You have to keep in mind that this cafeteria is attached to a university clinic. One should expect that this will place more emphasis on allergy-friendly nutritional options. The opposite is the case. If you can eat something there, the prices are very good for students. The atmosphere is ok for a cafeteria.

How are people supposed to get healthy? The food contains a lot of sugar, carbohydrates...

Staff mostly very friendly Distance rules will be observed if someone does not adhere to them The vegetarian offering is mostly pasta/rice with sauce, very high in carbohydrates The pudding/yoghurt is usually not vegetarian, which you only find out when you explicitly read the ingredients Recently there was a non-vegetarian soup added to the vegetarian menu (same price as meat dishes, which are generally much more variable and balanced) It seems as if vegetarian cuisine hasn't arrived yet

Sehr nett um Luft zu holen, wenn man jemanden besucht. Preislich etwas gehoben, Qualität der Speisen aber völlig in Ordnung.
