A restaurant with the best service and a beautiful wooden interior. The paper on the menu - very original in a wooden frame - could be renewed by the team in the near future (slightly worn). The food tastes exceptionally good and is served in wonderful dishes. Be sure to try dessert too. The Md'I restaurant is part of every visit to Mannheim. Congratulations to the whole team on this beautiful place and the wonderfully prepared food.

Super nice people, food is very close to the original!

Great restaurant in a good location in the center of Mannheim. The service was friendly and quick. The lychee strawberry soda is super refreshing and not too sweet, really tasty. The selection of food is large and everything sounds delicious. It's difficult to decide. I got the roast beef, which was just perfect. Everything was great and highly recommended :)

Great restaurant, the quality of the food is great. We were impressed with the taste and we will definitely be back. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, music not too loud. There are also parking options in the area.

The ambience was okay but a bit uncomfortable, unfortunately we had to wait a bit long for the menus and the service even though it wasn't too busy. I once had the NemHanoi (filled spring rolls 3 srück) as a starter. The taste was perfect and I recommend it. As a main course, PadLao (flat rice noodles with strips of beef and vegetables and dark sauce) tastes wonderful and highly recommended, but for me personally the portion was a bit too small and not enough beef for the price, hence the star deduction. But overall I can highly recommend it.

Very tasty Indochinese restaurant. Great breadings/spices/rice/salad/soup & the best of all are the homemade lemonades. Super delicious! The room climate was a bit fast at times & the tables are very small! Nevertheless: We would love to come back!

A small, relaxed Vietnamese restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The food is fresh, tasty and authentic, and the price-performance ratio is really great. The only small point of criticism: the chairs have no backrest, which somewhat affects the seating comfort. Still a great place for Vietnamese specialties.

We went here for dinner this week because of the many positive reviews. The restaurant was very busy on Friday evening. We had reserved online in advance. Our 2 small tables were right behind the entrance. A table wobbled quite a bit. At a table next door I saw that there were already folded paper towels under the table leg. This table was probably shaking too. The furniture is getting old and the small, hard wooden stools are not comfortable in the long term. The coat rack was full. We placed our jackets on top of each other over a free stool at our table. The food was okay, rather below average. Have eaten better. The cucumbers on my plate were already dried/shriveled and no longer crunchy and juicy. The chicken tasted very watery. The little bit of peanut sauce was just enough for one of the two meat skewers. The drink was a joke. We ordered Lychee strawberry soda. It tasted like mineral water with a dash of lychee flavor. There was probably a drop of red food coloring for the strawberry. At €4.50 it was a very expensive mineral water. The highlight of our visit was the very dirty and disgusting sanitary facilities. The trash cans were overflowing. Used hygiene products were simply lying in the corner of the trash can. There was (used?!) toilet paper on the floor. The toilet flush cover was missing in the men's toilets. The floor was wet and sticky. There was no toilet paper for the time being. It was only refilled by staff after a complaint from another guest. The black toilet was covered with a whitish film of grease. It's lucky I didn't go in there until after dinner, otherwise I would have lost my appetite straight away. All in all, we don't understand the many positive reviews and the hype. Mannheim has much better restaurants to offer.

Food really good. Unfortunately, cold drinks were consistently lukewarm and the espresso was more like filter coffee.

Good food, excellent prices but it's a bit uncomfortable in winter because there are no hangers to put your clothes on 👀

Unfortunately the tables for two are very small. Combined with the cube seats, it is a rather uncomfortable experience, especially for older guests. Service was okay, unfortunately my request for "spicy" when ordering was not implemented.

The online booking worked very well. The name of the restaurant and the menu were promising. The atmosphere has nice ideas, but the seating is still quite cramped and uncomfortable. The service wasn't very attentive. The food sounded great on the menu, but the dish wasn't particularly tasty. The accompanying salad was very tasty. The neighbors at the table thought their soups were good. The menu offers numerous vegetarian dishes. The restaurant is in the center of Mannheim and easily accessible. Parking garages are nearby.

One of the best restaurants, with a special menu section for vegans. Best tofu I've ever eaten. Can only recommend it!

Nach einem Kunstmuseumsbesuch in Mannheim wollten wir mit Freunden noch ein Abendessen einnehmen und sind auf eine Empfehlung im Memoires D’indochine gelandet. Da wir nicht reserviert hatten bekamen wir noch einen Platz in unmittelbarer Nähe der Toiletten. Unabhängig davon, dass der Platz total dunkel und in der letzten Rcke war roch es aus der Herrentoilette. Nach einem Besuch der selbigen, musste ich leider feststellen, dass es dort sehr ausgeprägt nach Fäkalien roch. Es gab zwar Seife aber eine Möglichkeit die Hände zu desinfizieren gab es nicht. Wir bestellten einen kleinen Cocktail und das Essen. Im Cocktail, der von der Menge gesehen sehr klein ausfiel suchten wir den Alkohol fast vergebens. Das Die Essensportionen waren sehr klein und in den Schrimps fanden wir noch das Gedärm. Laut Speisekarte handelt es sich immerhin um ausgesuchte Schrimps. Die Nachtische waren nicht alle verfügbar und lächerlich wenig. Die Bedienung hat sich um Freundlichkeit bemüht. Nun gut, am meisten haben mich die hygienischen Verhältnisse auf der Herrentoilette gestört und das in keinster Weise vorhandene Pries-Leistungsverhältnis der angebotenen Getränke und Speisen. Auf keinen Fall ist diese Location eine weitere Empfehlung wert. LG Franz

We were here for the first time. Since our event in the rose garden was finished earlier than planned, we tried our luck. It was no problem to advance our reservation and after waiting less than 5 minutes we were able to get to our table. The food was excellent, the service friendly and accommodating. Definitely a recommendation in Mannheim 👍🏽

Vietnamese cuisine at its best. We went there for the first time on the recommendation of friends. What can I say? We are super excited and will definitely go back. Super nice service, and the restaurant is very authentically decorated.

The first visit to the restaurant completely convinced us to visit the restaurant more often. The furnishings are a bit simple but you still feel comfortable. The service staff are very friendly and attentive. The menu is sufficient with various dishes and the food is very well described. Everything from the starter to the main courses to the dessert was sufficiently portioned and very tasty. The restaurant is easy to reach and there are plenty of parking garages nearby. The price-performance ratio is good for me. We are already looking forward to the next time

Der schlechteste Glasnudelsalat den ich in den letzten 20 Jahren bei einem Asiaten vorgesetzt bekommen habe! Geschmacklose Pampe, ungewürzt (obgleich ich extra „Thaischarf“ bestellt hatte), kaum frische Kräuter, keinerlei asiatisches Geschmackserlebnis! Zurück gegeben aber keinerlei Interesse des Personals, leider! Die Pho Gai meiner Frau war leider auch nicht wirklich besser, Brühe schmeckte wie aus dem Beutel, die Reisbandnudeln klumpig und weit überkocht dazu aufgewärmtes Hähnchenfleisch. GEHT GAR NICHT! Resumee: Keine Ahnung wo die TA-Bewertungen herkommen, ganz klar keine Empfehlung!

The food was authentic, fresh and extremely tasty. The service was incredibly nice - I would appreciate it if all the plates were left until everyone at the table had finished. I find clearing away early very uncomfortable. If this is still implemented, I will give it 5 stars in all subcategories :) Thank you very much - we'll be happy to come back!

I've eaten there three times now and have always had very good experiences. Last time, however, the mango chicken curry was pretty bland. However, many of the other dishes on the menu are really sophisticated and unusual and a pleasant change from the Asian monotony that you are usually served. The homemade lemonades are also really great. The service is friendly and quick. The price-performance ratio is right. A good place if you're still hungry after shopping in the squares...

A very nice shop with delicious food. The only negative points are the portion sizes and the ambience. Because there are almost only stools, you don't want to linger that long in the first place. When we visited, the tables were relatively crowded and it was very loud.

Food a bit expensive but tasty, location perfect

Starter: Summer rolls (we often make them ourselves and were a little disappointed as we had imagined them to be more "traditional", but the tamarind sauce is great) Main course: Laotian-style diced duck with sticky rice and spicy tomato sauce and grilled chicken thigh, removed from the bone with lime chili sauce on a bed of glass noodles and kolrabi salad: Excellent, especially the "duck salad" but also the chicken. Anything that could be criticized in terms of cuisine would be complaining at the highest level, especially at this price. Dessert: Sticky rice with mango and coconut Also great, interesting with dark wild rice. Nice location, attentive service, only the seating is simple wooden stools, but no problem with a jacket on. Homemade lemonades are great, otherwise an average selection of drinks. All in all, excellent value for money, really, really tasty food, clear recommendation

Nice restaurant with delicious food. Not much going on on Sundays at 5 p.m. The food was beautifully presented. The price is slightly higher for a nice view of the water tower. I wouldn't call the restaurant romantic because it's on a large street.

Got seated ordered a beer and looked at the menu, after 15 mins waiting, the beer never arrived and never saw the waitress again, despite the place is a miniature. Stood up and left.

Okay, die Sitzgelegenheiten (Hocker aus Holz) sind etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber sonst war alles klasse. Das Essen hat echt toll geschmeckt. Für meinen Geschmack etwas wenig Soße, da wäre mir der Reis zu trocken gewesen (typisch deutsch?) - also etwas Soße dazu bestellt.... ein kleine Schälchen für 2,50 Euro extra. Insgesamt haben wir für 3 Personen inklusive Getränken 81,40 Euro ausgegeben. Sehr nette Bedienungen.

Service rated with 1 star because a lady (German) from the service treated us so badly and cheekily lied to us With the statement that pho soup cannot be ordered outside the house because they don't have any materials for it, we accepted it and asked if we could bring a Tupperware container with us and the cook could then fill it in there. Your statement “we won’t do that have a nice day” The next day we went back for lunch and asked another service person and it wasn't a problem... The lady should learn a lot about how to deal with guests.

Great food, beer from Laos and very friendly service

I love the food, the view (of the water tower), the friendliness of the employees and I'll definitely come back. Something was misunderstood when ordering and we accidentally got a different dish but that was corrected very quickly. So we were completely satisfied!

S jídlem jsem byla spokojená já i manžel. Jídlo čerdtvé s velmi chutné. Problém byl čistota sklenic. Chaotický personál, který se nezeptal jen jednou jestli je vše v pořádku, ale několikrát což je obtěžující.

Food: Wasn't that good. I had crispy duck with rice and vegetables. The duck was not very tasty and quite dry. The vegetables could also have been seasoned better. My friend had a hair in her food. She had the food returned. Service: We made reservations at 3 p.m. On site, the waitress didn't know anything and barely spoke any German. The restaurant was pretty empty anyway, so we had free choice of seating. Otherwise it took a relatively long time before we could order. Ambiance: Visually quite nice. The tables could have been cleaner.

A great spot for some fast but tasty Vietnamese food. We stopped in here exhausted after a flight and the food was tatsächlich and came very quickly. It’s a casual spot with some outdoor seating with a nice view. Lots of vegan options for those who choose them.

I guess the location had changed and now it is quite bigger than before but it is very close to the main road. Thus, not very fan of that. The dishes we had was absolutely amazing and tasty. The duck meat was brilliant cooked and served! The service was also fantastic. Definitely a place to visit again!

The spring rolls and the drinks were great, but the service left something to be desired

I waited too long for a waiter, who saw me but decided not attend to me right away. Most of the people in service are rude. I asked where were the toilets and the answer I got was “if I was eating there”. My hope after that was that the food would be great at least, but it was not. The rice was extremely hard, and some parts of the noodles were undercooked. Never gonna come back again.

Store itself looks really interesting and is decorated in such a way that it just makes you want to visit. The food was great! It was beyond delicious! 😋 Unfortunately, all of these concepts and visions are implemented poorly and carelessly by the service staff. Even the local kebab and snack bar is more attentive. It's not exactly unfriendly, but it almost feels like they're afraid of people? Also, at a price of over €17 per dish, I would have expected napkins to be provided and not just the ones the waitress puts under the plate to bring out the food. It's really unfortunate to see such a beautiful place being wasted by a robot-like service. To me it's not "service" it's just "bringing out the food and drinks". However, I would like to come back for the food 🙈

Very tasty food, well seasoned, great fresh taste. Service is good. The ambience is reminiscent of a lively Asian city due to the traffic at the water tower, with a downpour today, the perfect mood for such a cozy and culinary evening!

If I could give 6 stars I would give them🥰 I was just visiting Mannheim and wanted to try “something new” there. And it was really great: the food is super tasty and fresh (which is very important to me when it comes to fish), the service and the owner are extremely friendly and accommodating and the furnishings are very stylish. It's really a shame that I don't come to Mannheim that often, it could become my favorite restaurant..

A really nice restaurant with outdoor seating. Unfortunately, it is right on the main road, which means traffic noise can be heard throughout. It's a little oasis in the hustle and bustle of people. The food is great, comes quickly and is not just something to behold. The waitresses are attentive and friendly, and the entire staff is very young. This does not affect the service, on the contrary. Everyone works quickly and routinely, and is always friendly and has a smile on their face. I've been here twice so far and would love to come back when I get the chance.

I've always wanted to go there and today was the day. My family was hungry and we were there. All four dishes we ordered (soup, rice dish, noodle dishes) were great. Service and ambience great - I have nothing to complain about.

Vegan options are great, but the wooden cutlery is a bit nerve-wracking. 😅

Rarely have I experienced such friendly service. The girls were great :-) The food was also very tasty and the location was very nice (a few more shaded areas would definitely be an advantage!)

Delicious food. It was our first time at the water tower and we had previously eaten in the C-square. Unfortunately we were forgotten and after an hour of waiting and asking, the food came within 5 minutes. A pity

We waited a long time for drinks even though there were no visitors.

I ordered Pad Lao (beef) , it tasted normal as per any Pad Lao . However the noodles (which are soft when bought in the packet ) were still stuck together which left some partly uncooked . It was the beef choice and there were only 5 slices of beef. A bit disappointing when I can make this at home for one third of the price and more beef.

Looking for something to eat before visiting Lord of the Dance and ended up here by chance. Although the waitress informed us that there would be a long wait due to staff shortages, the food came extremely quickly. The starters and main courses were delicious and absolutely great value for money. Friendly service and a beautiful terrace rounded off the visit. If we lived in Mannheim, we would definitely come more often. We say thank you

Had the salmon in a banana leaf and the coconut cream for desert. The salmon was ok, but not exceptional for €19. The cucumber salad that came with it was also completely normal, so not very exotic. The desert wasn't really my thing, a bit like warm rice pudding but somehow not as tasty. Maybe a matter of taste. The service was nice and relatively quick and you could sit outside nicely.

We went to Indochine for the second time last night (Sunday April 21st) and were thrilled. The welcome was friendly and a free seat was found straight away. After we got the drinks we ordered and also ordered our starter and main course, they came quite quickly. Like the previous one, the taste was very pleasant, fresh and not too rushed. The portions may seem small, but they are very filling. The waitresses are always very nice and respond to requests or questions immediately. We'll definitely come back

The food is tasty, maybe the rice noodles not as expected (they are like tagliatelle). We have greatly surprised because of the Vietnamese cafe, totally recommend it! A place to come back.

Pranzo veloce prima di entrare in un museo locale, buona insalata di pollo tiepida in agrodolce, con noddles di riso. Servizio rapido, prezzi onesti.

The food is super delicious & the atmosphere is inviting and very nice. Can be recommended without any stomach ache. 👍🏼 Only the menu packaging/box to take away is unfortunately cheap, not tight and catastrophic.
