Very nice and very tasty dishes from Southeast Asian countries. Proper tables and comfortable chairs would greatly enhance the overall ambiance for my generation. The background music could also use more of a Laotian/Indonesian influence. We were subjected to a constant stream of bad, local radio music. Please, a little more taste here as well. A little more attention to detail would make a big difference! PS: A restroom cleaning schedule that was last updated in August 2025 is hardly convincing for any guest… (Regarding attention to detail)

We were a group of five. The service and food were very good; all the dishes were fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, the restrooms were very dirty and should be cleaned more often during peak hours. Overall, a great experience; we'd love to come back.

The food here is absolutely delicious! We had the vegan appetizer platter. I've rarely eaten such good vegan meat skewers and spring rolls. We'll definitely be back :)

We ate there as a couple; the food was excellent, the service very friendly and attentive. However, I found the backless stools a bit uncomfortable for extended periods when eating alone. And since the door was only separated by a curtain, it was a little chilly in December. Otherwise, highly recommended.

We visited Memoires d'Indochine in mid-December 2025 and were thrilled with the food. Both the weekly special, featuring a red curry with coconut milk and a variety of herbs, and the red curry with duck were an explosion of flavor, truly exceptional. My only slight complaint was that the red curry was a bit too spicy for my taste – but perhaps I'm just used to a certain level of heat. For starters, we had incredibly delicious spring rolls, not your average frozen stuff. The ambiance in the glasshouse is absolutely beautiful. During the Christmas season, you can see into the kitchen and also onto the Christmas market – the whole place has a wonderfully open feel. I didn't think the Christmas tablecloth was necessary at all. I would have much preferred a real tea light. The only drawback is that there can be a bit of a draft coming through the windows in some places, especially near the entrance. The ambiance in the glasshouse is simply gorgeous. Overall, it was a very successful evening and I look forward to being able to enjoy these specialties again soon.

The three dishes we were served were all very tasty and worth the money. The decor, chairs, and stools are very simple and truly reminiscent of Indochina. The central location and the view are additional pluses.

Memoirs of Indochine The Indochine Restaurant is located at the beginning of the pedestrian zone, as seen from the water tower. It is an Indochine restaurant serving predominantly Vietnamese and Laotian cuisine. This cuisine is considered very healthy and fresh. The food there is very good and delicious. I've tried a lot of things there, but there wasn't anything that didn't taste good. Everything was great..... The beer.... Lao Beer Saigon Beer Both very good. The decor is authentic, with pictures as a reminder of the old days. There are plenty of parking garages nearby, and a bus stop and train station are just a few meters away. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, nothing worked out this time. We mentioned the gluten intolerance several times, but the staff didn't seem to understand us at all. The menu has been changed, and since then the allergen information is no longer accurate. The information in the main section was incorrect, as my partner felt very ill after eating. We've been here many times before, and it's always been fine until now. We've lost all trust; I don't know if we'll try again.

Excellent food. It's best to order appetizers, as the main courses, while delicious, aren't very large. The staff is competent and friendly without being pushy. Highly recommended.

I've been here a few times, and they were kind enough to allow us a part of the restaurant for our last dinner living in Europe. It has a super cosy atmosphere, beautiful view of the Wasserturm, and the food is delicious! Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely evening with excellent food and friendly staff. They also offer a separate vegan/vegetarian menu. The restaurant is relatively small, so reservations are recommended; these can easily be made online. The price-performance ratio is definitely right. We will definitely be back.

Hello S-lovers! Welcome to Indochine in Mannheim. A short walk from the Planken (street), I was greeted by a friendly team in the prime location. The rustic interior with stool seating is primarily designed for 2-4 people. The fresh cuisine is presented with an original menu. I was briefly surprised when ordering. When asked, the employee shook her head and disappeared. The reason, as it later turned out, was that she didn't speak German and only understood the names of the drinks and dishes. The food arrived quickly, even before all the drinks had reached the table. Tasty and well-presented, the portions were appropriate and varied. My recommendation: spring rolls with whole chicken (no minced meat) Enjoy your meal

A really cute place. Lovingly decorated. Centrally located and easily accessible. The food and drinks were very good and freshly prepared. The house sodas were delicious. The prices are absolutely reasonable and quite reasonable for what you get.

What a place and what a meal 😍. We were already impressed by the place as we walked by. It was busy, with a great location and view. We just popped in and luckily got a nice seat. The menu and description of the food were exceptional and piqued our interest. We were not disappointed in the slightest. Beautifully prepared and presented. And the taste was amazing. What fantastic food. Sorry, we were so overwhelmed that we tasted it before taking this photo. Everything was absolutely fantastic, and I hope I get the chance to come back again. Starter and main course were brought to the table together. The main course was brought back warmed in the microwave after 20 minutes.

This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites in the city. The food is always fresh, the presentation is perfect, and the location is perfect. I love sitting on the terrace right in the heart of the city—a little feast for the soul every time I visit.

Very aromatic, delicious food, very friendly and prompt service, a view of the water tower next door and an idyllic fountain on the other side—what more could you want? Only the heavy city traffic somewhat detracts from the seating experience in the beer garden… But all in all, absolutely worth 5 stars…

My first visit to Mémoires d'Indochine was truly pleasantly surprised! The flavors were wonderfully balanced—fresh, light, and yet very flavorful. Everything was super freshly prepared, and the food was incredibly delicious and authentic. The ambiance was pleasantly tranquil, and the service was quick and friendly. I definitely recommend the restaurant and would gladly return!

The food is very authentic and made with fresh ingredients. It's not your typical Asian restaurant with a European twist. The staff is very friendly. The whole concept is just right. The only downside is that it's now on the main street near the water tower, and some of the seating is outside, right on the street.

A restaurant with the best service and a beautiful wooden interior. The paper on the menu - very original in a wooden frame - could be renewed by the team in the near future (slightly worn). The food tastes exceptionally good and is served in wonderful dishes. Be sure to try dessert too. The Md'I restaurant is part of every visit to Mannheim. Congratulations to the whole team on this beautiful place and the wonderfully prepared food.

Great restaurant in a good location in the center of Mannheim. The service was friendly and quick. The lychee strawberry soda is super refreshing and not too sweet, really tasty. The selection of food is large and everything sounds delicious. It's difficult to decide. I got the roast beef, which was just perfect. Everything was great and highly recommended :)

The ambience was okay but a bit uncomfortable, unfortunately we had to wait a bit long for the menus and the service even though it wasn't too busy. I once had the NemHanoi (filled spring rolls 3 srück) as a starter. The taste was perfect and I recommend it. As a main course, PadLao (flat rice noodles with strips of beef and vegetables and dark sauce) tastes wonderful and highly recommended, but for me personally the portion was a bit too small and not enough beef for the price, hence the star deduction. But overall I can highly recommend it.

A small, relaxed Vietnamese restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The food is fresh, tasty and authentic, and the price-performance ratio is really great. The only small point of criticism: the chairs have no backrest, which somewhat affects the seating comfort. Still a great place for Vietnamese specialties.
