Mei Thai Restaurant in Saarbrücken

Toller Laden. Schon oft dort gegessen und alles hat bislang super geschmeckt. Preise sind auch sehr vernünftig. Man muss auf jeden Fall rechtzeitig reservieren, da der Laden nicht so groß ist.

Schade ist, dass die Tische in Schichten vergeben werden. Das Essen ist ansonsten gut, nichts außergewöhnliches, aber lecker.

Das personal ist sehr freundlich. Essen ist super lecker und der preis stimmt. Der laden ist nicht so groß, also man sollte auf jeden fall einen tisch reservieren, wenn man dort essen möchte. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Ein großartiger Ort in bester Lage im Herzen der Altstadt. Das Essen war köstlich, eine sehr schöne Geschmacksreise, herzlicher Empfang. Ich kann es zu 100 % weiterempfehlen.

Super leckeres authentisches Thai-Restaurant. Wir sind als Touris durch eine Empfehlung dorthin gegangen und waren begeistert. Wir hatten das rote Thai Curry und Sate Spieße. Das Curry war wunderbar gewürzt, scharf, aber nicht zu scharf. Wir kommen gerne wieder, wenn wir Saarbrücken besuchen.

Wow! Unser Besuch war von Anfang bis Ende perfekt. Super nette Mitarbeiter, spontan noch einen Platz erhalten, schöne Deko und gemütliches Ambiente. Das Essen war eine 10/10. Ein Stück Thailand mitten in Deutschland 🙊 Wir können jedem einen Besuch dort empfehlen.

Ich ging hier spontan an einem Donnerstabend hin. Es war so voll, dass ich 15 min auf einen Tisch warten musste. Das war aber kein Problem, schließlich ist ein volles Restaurant doch ein gutes Zeichen! Nach einer Runde um den Block konnte ich mich dann setzen. Das Essen war wirklich richtig lecker. Die Portionen waren auch ordentlich. Der Service war aufmerksam und flott.

Der Einladung ins Mei Thai Restaurant bin ich gerne gefolgt. Der aufmerksame und freundliche Service zusammen mit dem leckeren Essen haben uns begeistert nicht umsonst gibt es dieses Lokal schon so lange die Konstanz und die Qualität sprechen für sich. Absolute Frische der Produkte haben uns überzeugt. Natürlich kommen wir sehr gerne wieder.

Ich bestellte Pad Kra Pao, bekam aber Pad Pak Ruam. Ich bat die Kellnerin erneut um das richtige Gericht, doch sie bestand weiterhin auf Pad Kra Pao, obwohl in der Bestellung Pad Pak Ruam vermerkt war.

Ich bin seit über 10 Jahren Stammkundin im Mei Thai. Die Qualität ist konstant hervorragend, die Gerichte authentisch und frisch zubereitet. Die Karte ist bewusst klein gehalten, was für mich ein großes Plus ist: Hier wird auf Klasse statt Masse gesetzt. Unsere Favoriten sind „Gaeng Daeng“ – das rote Thai Curry, schön scharf und aromatisch sowie „Gai Phad Metmamuang“, mit Huhn und Cashewkernen. Sticky Rice mit Mango darf ebenfalls nicht fehlen. Ein Tipp: Wenn keine Reservierung möglich ist, lohnt es sich, direkt zur Öffnungszeit zu kommen. Der Laden ist beliebt, und das völlig zu Recht! Für mich das beste Thai-Restaurant in Saarbrücken – authentisch, freundlich und immer ein Genuss. Absolute Empfehlung!

Unfortunately, this time I have to give a bad review. The food itself is always very good and delicious, but this time I've been laid up with food poisoning for two days now – the full spectrum of food poisoning. Unfortunately, that's not so cool of you; the food wasn't so great this time.

Our favorite restaurant in Saarbrücken! We travel 50 km to eat there... What a treat!

We have been dining here almost every week for months (more than 15 visits so far) and the experience has been consistently excellent. The food quality never slips: every dish is well-balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make the restaurant feel family-friendly. Service is quick and organized, and the drinks are always spot on. Everything on the menu is great, but I never leave without finishing with rice and mango. Compliments to the whole team for keeping the standards so high every single time.

It used to be much better! We enjoyed coming here often, but have been a bit disappointed recently. The prices have gone up, the portions have gotten smaller. My curry was too salty and very spicy, with few vegetables and a lot of sauce. Very friendly staff.

On a walk (we're from Switzerland and visiting Saarbrücken for the first time), we happened upon Mai Thai by chance and were absolutely thrilled! Lovely decor, super freshly cooked food, and a quiet, pleasant atmosphere! We're missing something like this here!

Well! Today I ordered 3 phad Bami with chicken, 2 spicy and 1 regular. The food itself was ordered to go! The food was served in 3 small CANS with lids for takeaway! Each dish cost €14.90, and my can contained 3 pieces of meat!!! If you want to eat there, the food tastes great and you'll be full, but if you order to go, you'll be ripped off by the quantity! 2 cans made one meal. If you compare the pictures posted here in the reviews with the food we had, my statement is 100% true! A no-go for takeaway, eating there is OK!

Mei Thai is one of the best Asian restaurants I've ever visited! You immediately feel welcome as soon as you enter—the team is incredibly warm, attentive, and professional. The food is simply fantastic: fresh, authentic, and prepared with love. The curries are wonderfully aromatic, the spiciness can be customized, and the appetizers are also fantastic. I particularly recommend the "Pad Krapau" dish and the papaya salad—they taste absolutely amazing! The ambiance is cozy and stylish; you feel truly at home and can relax and enjoy your meal. Mei Thai on Kappengasse is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Saarbrücken. The food is always fresh, full of flavor, and simply delicious. You can tell that the cooking here is done with great care. Each dish is beautifully presented and arrives on the plate with loving attention to detail. The ambiance is also perfect. Very tastefully decorated, cozy, yet modern. A place where you immediately feel at home. Whether as a couple or with friends, you can truly have a great time here. For anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere, Mai Thai is a definite recommendation.

The food was okay, a bit too salty in my opinion. The price/performance ratio was okay. Unfortunately, we had to wait about a quarter of an hour for a menu and then another 10 minutes for our drinks. The food arrived quickly, though.

I went there spontaneously last week and was lucky enough to get a table without a reservation. Beautifully decorated, friendly service. The food was excellent, including a very tasty Thai curry. The dessert was also excellent. I definitely recommend it.

My first visit but certainly not my last... for me it was an insider tip for many Saarbrücken residents. All dishes are freshly prepared...available in all types of spiciness, plus delicious cocktails and friendly service. Reservations recommended.

I still vaguely remember that in the 90s it was always "Shall we go to my aunt's for dinner?" So of course we went. :) One of many great childhood memories and now I was finally there again. The food is still wonderful, the best Thai curry I've ever tasted. Great service, nice atmosphere and fair prices. Thanks for the great food and definitely see you soon! :)

Just describing my experience here. Never had a massaman curry without potatoes. Most of the curry was missing. Not authentic. Tom Yam Gai (chicken) tasted like Tom Yam Gung (shrimp). Beer was cold.

The mango and sticky rice were amazing. The pad thai was kinda flavorless.

The food was very tasty, fresh and rich, but we really felt thrown out! Just 10 minutes after the meal, we were sitting with our second drink and since it was a birthday dinner we would have liked to have sat there for a while and tried one or two cocktails. We were told that we would need our table straight away, but we could stay for another 10 minutes (how generous). How can something like this be even though we had reserved weeks in advance? Two women were sitting at the table next to us when we arrived and when we left...apparently we weren't welcome despite a €100 bill! Although the food was great, it was a reason not to go there again!

Have been there several times, the food has always been very good and are therefore happy to be a customer. Unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed today. We ordered two dishes from Wolt, one of which was duck. Two dishes were also delivered, but unfortunately none of them had duck (but as a vegetarian version). After a long back and forth with the restaurant and Wolt, a refund was refused because the kitchen was sure they had packed the duck. The duck was probably already packed, just not in our bag (unless the driver ate it from my dish during delivery). Unfortunately, if an essential part of the dish is missing, the experience is different. We were particularly disappointed by the restaurant's reaction in this case.

We were here for lunch for the first time today, got a seat outside, experienced friendly service, had a very tasty meal, with drinks and espresso for under €50 for two people. Price-performance was absolutely ok. There was great demand and all tables were occupied. We'd love to come back, the menu is still big.

I was a regular customer at this restaurant for a long time. Unfortunately, over the last six months I have had the impression that the portions per dish have become significantly smaller. This disappointed me very much, which is why I unfortunately won't be coming back...

Due to a festival, only a small menu was offered, of which a large number of dishes were ultimately unavailable. The food was basically fresh, but seasoned lightly, so I had to add a lot of chili and soy, which unfortunately was only available upon request. Portions different despite the same dish and rather small. Few toppings. Water without gas for 6.50 came open to the table, which gives me pause. Staff seemed rather overwhelmed. I can't understand the many 5 star reviews, especially in this city I would rather go to other Asian restaurants.

It was really annoying that we didn't get a table at the Mei Thai Restaurant in Saarbrücken today, despite a good rating, and the service was unfriendly. This really put a damper on the whole experience. We were so looking forward to a delicious meal, but unfortunately our expectations were not met. As soon as we entered the restaurant we noticed that it was quite crowded and loud. We tried to get a table but the staff seemed overwhelmed and couldn't offer us a reasonable solution. It was frustrating that we didn't receive clear communication or support. Overall, the experience at Mei Thai Restaurant was unfortunately disappointing. It seems that the restaurant has problems with organization and customer service. It would be nice if they could improve these pain points to provide a better experience for their guests. But luckily we didn't hang our heads and kept looking. There are certainly many other great restaurants in Saarbrücken that are worth a visit. Next time we will make a new culinary discovery and hopefully a positive experience! 🍽️✨
