A spotlessly clean place, a must-visit for a wonderful fish feast. I'd like to thank the staff for their friendly service and attentiveness.

I haven't eaten such delicious and fresh fish and seafood in a long time. It felt like I was on vacation. The service was also very friendly. It's a shame the restaurant isn't right on the beach...

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch today. The fish was perfectly grilled, the potatoes were super delicious, as was the tartar sauce. The salad could have used a bit more vinegar, but that's a subjective assessment. I highly recommend this place; we'll definitely be back, and I'm already looking forward to it. Overall 1/10 We had two pieces of breaded calamari with fries and two pieces of sea bream with fried potatoes. The portions were by no means sufficient, but rather equivalent to a children's menu. The fries and fish portions were easily counted in one hand. Fried potatoes were served as fried potatoes, but they were actually deep-fried. When we checked out, the waiter told us that the debit card machine wasn't working. When we paid in cash, he suddenly had no change.

Always delicious, and the fish comes straight from the grill after you select it! Be sure to ask for the spicy sauce—it goes perfectly with the fish and the fried potatoes...😋

One of the few places in Frankfurt where you can eat delicious fish at reasonable prices. Definetely a great price/quality place. I would prefer Meeresrausch for casual friend dinners and relatively relaxed weekend lunches. Also perfect spot for enjoying a bottle of raki with friends. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to eat on famous Berger Straße.

If you fancy some fish to eat, you should definitely go there. The quality is very high, and the service is friendly and welcoming. All the fish we ordered was delicious and fresh. I highly recommend it. I've been there twice and will definitely be back. One of the best restaurants on Berget Street.

Very good prices and fresh fish. Lovingly served. Excellent service, always checking whether the customer needed anything else. We finished with an espresso. If we're ever in Frankfurt again, we'd be happy to come back.

The visit to this restaurant was an excellent experience. We were a group of 8, two German, two American, two Irish and two Swiss. The staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. They served starters because they felt we were waiting too long for the main courses. There were 8 of us and others in the restaurant! The food was cooked to perfection, they know how to cook fish! Salads and sides exceptional. And so very reasonable. Very generous glasses of white wine! We ate out a lot in Bornheim, Meeresrausch was by far our favourite. Great staff, so friendly and talented cooks and waiters. Bring cash! We didn't have a lot of cash but got it all sorted with revolute and transfers.

I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for an amazing meal at Meeresrausch on August 3, 2025. My husband and I were visiting from Washington, DC USA. We were so hungry that Sunday afternoon and found this lovely restaurant in Frankfurt. The food was outstanding, the staff was excellent, and the owner, Mrs. Asli Ozubek was wonderful. Asli, interpreted the German menu to English for us. She then allowed me to engage her in delightful conversation where I discovered how kind she is. To top it off, she gave me a glass of wine made in Turkey. Having dinner at Meeresrausch was one of our best experiences in Frankfurt. This was our first time here and we were immediately impressed by the fresh, delicious food. The service was excellent and very attentive. It was a bit windy on the terrace, but we were immediately offered a blanket. I think the owner even introduced himself and said he would be happy to help with any questions. And now for the food: everything was very fresh, beautifully presented, and none of our questions were too much trouble. If you love fish and want to enjoy good, delicious food, I highly recommend this restaurant!

It's a disgrace. We ordered two fish dishes, but received two different fish without any notification. When we asked, we were told they were no longer available. We weren't even asked. The fillet looked over-fried, and the fries were almost countable.

The grill was amazing, the staff incredibly friendly and attentive, and the prices absolutely fair! Highly recommended.

We ordered the mixed grill for two people, and everything was excellent! The fish and seafood were fresh, perfectly prepared, and very tasty. You can tell the love goes into the cooking here. We'd especially like to commend the owner of the restaurant – an incredibly warm and attentive person. The phone reservation the day before went smoothly, and everything was perfectly prepared. The fish platters were prepared exactly to our liking and tasted excellent – fresh, lovingly presented, and of the highest quality. We particularly want to highlight the grilled sea bream: beautifully crispy on the outside, wonderfully juicy on the inside, with wonderful roasted aromas – simply a dream! The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive; even the owner personally looked after our well-being. You can really tell how much heart and soul go into the food here. It's also absolutely perfect for families – very warm, hospitable, and uncomplicated. Our expectations were exceeded – we will definitely be back and can highly recommend Meeresrausch!

Under new ownership and even better than before. Beautiful fish cooked beautifully. Juicy seafood. Sepia, dorada, shrimp, monkfish, zander, sardines...all delicious and cooked to perfection. They cook your food right in front of you. Wonderful grill with a delicious aroma that entices your appetite. Great service and nice owner, Ösgur. Try their wine list, any rosé or white will go great with your food. We will come back for sure.

Unfortunately, the food tasted burnt. I've eaten seafood at many restaurants in Frankfurt. I wouldn't recommend it. The staff were also busy playing games on their phones, which seemed very unprofessional. If you're in this area, there are definitely better restaurants. I hope this restaurant makes more of an effort in the future, both in terms of food and service.

Clearly new management and service. A disaster. It wasn't even busy. The waitress chatted in the kitchen and ignored the customers outside. The food took too long for lunch, especially when you wait 10 to 15 minutes for your order to be taken. Despite asking, the sauce and bread didn't arrive until I'd already finished eating due to time constraints. I even had to go inside to pay because the waitress preferred to chat. Dear new owner... You urgently need to find professional service staff, or you'll destroy this great place in record time.

The best fish restaurant in Frankfurt 💯

I've been ordering and eating here regularly for two years. Unfortunately, the quality has declined, and the prices have increased. The rice is now mushy and strangely seasoned, the spicy red dipping sauce isn't as tasty as it used to be, and the fish has also declined in quality. Despite the decline in quality, it was passable the last few times, but the taste just isn't what I'm used to. I suspect there's been a major change since April/May. I'm very disappointed, as Meeresrausch was my favorite restaurant for a long time.

It's a real shame that the quality has declined so much! Not to mention the service. The following happened: There were two of us at lunchtime on May 16, 2025, and it wasn't busy at around 1:30 p.m. We wanted to sit at a table for four, but the staff said no, there were no reserved seats. Okay, no problem, we moved. We then ordered a salmon doner kebab and grilled octopus with fried potatoes and salad. The flatbread was completely soggy and fell apart, making it inedible. I complained. The staff member reluctantly took it and returned a short time later with a new flatbread, although it had the scraped contents of the previous salmon doner, which would have been fine. Now comes the big BUT: not with countless bones!!! See photo. I'm still stunned by the reaction: first, to be addressed with "What's up, lady?" and then to be told that it's normal, it's just fish. Yes, right, but there shouldn't be any bones in a salmon doner, which is usually eaten blind and not with a knife and fork. I find it irresponsible and life-threatening!!!

We used to be regulars here and always appreciated the food and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, our last visit was very disappointing. They now only accept cash payments, which we weren't aware of before – the server claimed to have informed us, but nothing was mentioned when we entered or when we ordered. Furthermore, the prices have increased significantly compared to before – about 20%, which is hard to understand given the consistent menu. What irritated us most, however, was that even though there were several tables available, we were asked to leave after paying, for no apparent reason. After many positive experiences in the past, it's a real shame to see how the service and value for money have deteriorated here. We probably won't be returning anytime soon.

Simply amazing! I ate sea bream here – it was excellently prepared and had that wonderfully authentic grilled flavor. The vegetables were also very aromatic and perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo – I was so distracted by the enjoyment! We had this dish as an appetizer, which not only tasted amazing but was also served hot and fresh. The recommended wine paired wonderfully with it and I also really enjoyed it. For anyone looking for a special dinner or to enjoy really good fish – a definite recommendation!

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. I ordered a certain type of fish but got something completely different, probably hoping no one would notice. Something like this is unacceptable and simply fraudulent! In addition, the food was extremely oily and had little to do with fresh, good fish cuisine. Anyone who eats here should take a very close look to see whether they really get what they ordered. For me it was the first and last time.

The food was ok, but there was no suitable sauce left that evening. The service is underground. We were completely ignored. I had to wave at the waiters several times to even get a menu. When we had a request during the meal, even waving didn't help. Various waiters had seen us and noticed our waving, but they still simply ignored us. You then really have to get up, walk to the waiter, tap him and talk to him if you need something. I have never felt so unwelcome. Never again.

Insider definitely... We (two adults) had fish. What should definitely be emphasized is that it is always fresh and the fish tastes like fish, even despite the spices. I was in the Meeresrausch restaurant with two other people and we had a very pleasant visit. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, which made the evening very enjoyable. The service was particularly positive - the employees were courteous and responded lovingly to our requests. We had the fish plate with three different types of fish to eat three times. There was also a salad each, and we also ordered extra vegetables, sardines, shrimp and calamari. Everything was incredibly delicious! The portions were just right - neither too little nor too much, and the quality of the food was excellent. At 33 euros per person (99 euros in total for 3 people), the price-performance ratio was absolutely justified. All in all, I can only recommend Meeresrausch. We felt completely at home and will definitely come back!

Flavor explosion! One of the best shops in Frankfurt. I've eaten here several times and every time it's tasted fantastic. Whether grilled tuna, salmon, sea bream or trout – everything was excellent. The side dishes (I previously had vegetables and fried potatoes) are also great. The food tastes fresh and you feel completely good after eating. The price-performance ratio is also great – please keep it that way!

Very tasty food! If you like fresh fish, you should eat here. :) I had the monkfish, lobster and the cuttlefish. Everyone can choose the side dishes they want. I decided on the vegetables. But there are still fried potatoes or rice. Before that there is a small side salad. The food was really excellent seasoning! Only recommended.

Today was the first day that I was able to try the delicious food and I am very, very excited. You can't get more fresh than that. The food is completely harmonious. Don't know what could have been done better. Had the grilled tuna number 40 sepia, tuna and prawns with fried potatoes. Super super delicious. I will now only come to you in the next few weeks. I also have to give a very big compliment to the seller/waiter, a young, slim, personable man with the friendliest charisma. He is a great host. Compliment. I wish Berlin had a fish restaurant like this, but so far I've searched in vain in Berlin. Great alternative to take away too. Please keep it up.

Das kleine aber feine Restaurant Meeresrausch ist zentral in der Berger Straße gelegen und mit öffentlichen Nahverkehrsmitteln gut zu erreichen. Die Begrüßung ist freundlich, wir werden gleich zur Kühltheke geführt, in der die Fische und Schalentiere frisch gehalten werden. Die Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich aufgebaut. Zu den Hauptgerichten gibt es drei verschiedene Beilagen nach Wahl und einen frischen Salat, der im Preis des Hauptgerichtes enthalten ist. Wir entscheiden uns für gegrilltes Fischfilet von der Dorade und gegrillten Pulpo. Der aufmerksame Kellner bringt zuerst die Getränke und dann den frisch angemachten Salat. Unsere Fischgerichte sind ganz ausgezeichnet. Die Bratkartoffeln sind auch frisch gemacht, aber längst nicht so fett, wie in deutschen Lokalen. Wir sind sehr, sehr zufrieden, was Service und Qualität der Speisen angeht. Auch das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis war mehr als "stimmig". In Deutschland haben wir noch nie so guten Fisch gegessen. Das „Meeresrausch“ ist wohl auch ein Familienbetrieb, denn das Restaurant ist täglich geöffnet. Auf jeden Fall kommen wir sehr gerne wieder. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend.

Current rating: Unfortunately I have to revise the older review, I was there about a week ago and ordered a seafood salad: sad, carelessly prepared, mainly surimi (I don't like it at all, cheap stuff pasted together), a few chopped squid tubes (cheap in the retail store), max. three baby octopus arms, 3-4 mussels, no shrimp. 0.0 acidity, no salt, not even a hint of garlic, very weak Had to ask for bread. Whether Portugal, Spain, France or somewhere else, a seafood salad has to have bread. Reposition yourself again. I was really excited about you at first (see review below from two years ago). Thanks! Review two years ago: I'm happy to have discovered this restaurant, it's practically around the corner from me. It's been there eight months and was there for the first time today. Nice staff, attentive and hardworking. Fresh, clean, appetizing. You can sit comfortably inside and outside and almost feel like you're by a body of water. Interior fits. I will go there more often as a fish freak. A little tip to the boys: I found a few bones in the fillets, so just be a little more careful. I recently visited for the first time with a friend. First of all, it was a shame that the fish soup was already out at 5 p.m. and the waiter was super nice and friendly, but made mistakes with the drinks, which happened. But the food was great. I'm happy that there's Turkish rice and delicious fresh vegetables to choose from here, because I honestly don't understand what all the fish restaurants here have with these fried fried potatoes. Sea bream, prawns, salmon steak,... everything fried to perfection. The sauces are also very tasty. And the price is fair, I'll be happy to come back!

Just great!!! Hospitable, good service, competent chef who prepares his seafood with love. Plus a glass of wine if you like it! Clear recommendation for anyone who loves fresh(!!) fish!!!

The worst service I ever see in my life total arrogant and not even too work in the shop with food this young guy is total arrogant and not even polite

Unfortunately it was nothing. Price performance wasn't right. And organization totally chaotic.

We were there on July 17th. eat in the evening. Fish soup, grilled sole and seafood pasta. The fish soup was a disappointment. Extremely hot, little content and not remotely comparable to a French or North German fish soup. BUT the main courses were outstanding. The grilled fish was cooked to perfection and yet had deliciously crispy skin. The pasta was also cooked to perfection, German, not Italian - thanks for that - and absorbed the tomato sauce well. The seafood, squid, shrimps and a lot more, had a great smoky aroma, were very plentiful and not at all tough. The restaurant is more or less a snack bar with additional tables on the sidewalk, so the ambience is deducted. Overall, highly recommended in summer. ...if the fish soup is adjusted...

Super friendly team on site, very tasty and healthy food, everything clean (including the toilet) Great price/performance ratio. I would like to go there again
