Solid Indian cuisine, well-balanced spices, very fine wine from India, beautiful rooms and relaxing hours...

Great location, close to Eberswalder Straße but not on the main street. The two of us ate very deliciously, vegetarian and vegan were no problem. We'd love to come back.

Lovely food and cozy restaurant. We had chicken korma and curry chicken, both can be recommended. It's all at a reasonable price.

One of the best place i have ever visited in Germany

The food was delicious. My girlfriend and me came for a dinner and we loved the atmosphere. We had a confusion because we had a voucher which we wanted to use but we couldn't because we didn't read carefully the instructions. However the owner was very kind to us and helped us to solve our problem. At the end we were very happy with our choice because of the food and service :)

Our visit to Meena Kumari Indian Restaurant was an overall positive experience, although there were some mixed impressions. The food was excellent - we particularly enjoyed the Mango Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo. The mango lassi was also outstanding and is definitely recommended. We were particularly impressed by the waiter's goodwill: Even though we had neglected to mention the Berlin WelcomeCard when ordering, he still gave us the 25% discount. We found this service-oriented attitude to be very positive. The general ambience of the restaurant was also pleasant and contributed to a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the female waitress was noticeably lacking in service. She seemed harsh, sometimes unfriendly and seemed uncommitted. Her absent behavior - including wearing headphones during the service - was inappropriate for her role and spoiled the overall impression. Another unusual point was that we were told there was no coffee, even though we were sure we saw a large coffee machine and matching cups next to the bar. That seemed a bit strange and left questions. Thanks to the excellent food and the professional, accommodating attitude of the waiter, we still give it 5 stars. However, if the female waiter had been our sole impression of the service, we would have set the rating significantly lower.

Very good restaurant in close proximity to the local cult establishments. Good cuisine. The chicken in our dishes was very tender. Nice service. We'd love to come back.

The butter chicken was good (also halal) not the best to be honest. The bathura was very tasty. Very friendly staff! I particularly loved the atmosphere. I appreciate the waiter mentioning that they only accept cash before I ordered.

The place is beautiful in its ambiance and service. I love Indian good and I try to explore new places for the same. This is not a typical Indian restaurant with all the so a lot of pics of Indian places, but a really calm and soothing interior. The candle on the table tops it off making a place perfect for candle light dinner and a place to spend quality time with your loved ones. I ordered panner Jhalfrezi, which was okay, but I would expect better in terms of taste from a restaurant like that. Other than that, the Starter platter and Papadam was great in taste. I would recommend it as the hospitality of the staff was amazing, the place is nice overall with great mango lassi. One more thing, they only accept cash payments!!! So, have some with you, otherwise the EC machine will charge you a lot of fee.

My friend and I didn’t like the food at this restaurant. For us, the food lacked flavor. We were very excited for the chicken biryani, but we didn’t find the traditional biryani flavors in it. For us, it tasted like a complete different dish.

The food was a little boring and we didn’t get everything we ordered.

Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us at all. Unfortunately, everything tasted very lacking in spices and the ingredients were equally unconvincing. The ambience and service were very nice and inviting. Probably wouldn't come back.

We have known and visited the restaurant for years; We have never left it dissatisfied. Always friendly service, always good food, always at moderate prices.

We ate here as a family and were sadly a bit disappointed by the subpar service and food after reading the great reviews. After we ordered our drinks, they came out slightly wrong (not a big deal when ordering for a group of 6), but after that it took forever for the server to come to our table again to take our order even though we were visibly waiting and the restaurant wasn't full. It took a rather long time for the food to arrive as well. The food was not bad except for any dishes labelled as "mild". I'm bad with spicy food so I chose one of those, but that doesn't mean I can't handle any spices or taste at all! The curry didn't taste mild but completely bland. Other food was fine though. Sadly, when it came to paying we were informed it was cash only. I'm sure most customers would appreciate being told this before or even right after ordering, and because we waited so long for our food one of us could have easily gone to the atm to fetch some cash while waiting. Instead, this further prolonged our visit unnecessarily.

Smallest portions mankind has ever seen. One small rice bowl for two people (the bowl is not even enough for one person, it's that small). Food is okay but just the very average German-adapted stuff that is served everywhere else with nothing particularly interesting on the menu.

Hier gibt es sehr gutes indisches Essen in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Wir hatten eine Vorspeisenplatte und als Hauptspeise ein vegetarisches Gericht und ein Gericht mit Hühnchen.

Sorry to say our food was very poor - bland and not particularly fresh. Then at the end the dreaded "cash only" which (even by Germany's appalling standards for card payments) is just ridiculous for a Berlin city centre restaurant in 2024. Avoid.

Unreserved recommendation! Was here for dinner. The food came quickly and my wish to make the food spicier was fulfilled. I've often had restaurants that still prepared it very mildly. Sure, adapted to the majority taste, but there's authentic Indian cuisine here. The staff are very friendly and the service is attentive. I'd love to come back.

We are very satisfied with the friendliness of the employees. The map seems a bit confusing at first glance. But there are a lot of delicious things on here. In the end we were pleasantly surprised by the large portions. The meat was very well done, neither dry nor mushy. The sauces were not overly seasoned and tasted balanced and very tasty. The prices were also relatively good

A really super authentic Indian restaurant. I can fully recommend it - the staff is simply great, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the food excellently, every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The ambience is really nicely designed, which contributes to an overall pleasant experience. We were recommended the restaurant by friends and are more than thrilled! Seldom has Indian food been as good as in Meena Kumari. Everything was individually adapted to any intolerances and despite the large number of customers, we had great and, above all, fast service (which is rather unusual in Berlin). Our order consisted of the butter chicken with the garlic naan, tikka gujrat (highly recommended) and a vegan curry with rice (Lahori Bengen/medium hot.) Finally, there was mango lassi for the way home. Great service, traditional ambience and excellent food. For dessert, baked marzipan lychees (not every Indian/Pakistani restaurant has this is a must. Gladly again!!!

Among the worst service and experience I have encountered in my life. Would highly advice finding a different restaurant. We went here as it was one of the places listed as a partner restaurant on the Berlin Welcome Card website. When we entered, I said we would like to use the Berlin Welcome Card discount. We were informed that the restaurant operates on cash only, which was quite weird and surprising given how everyone is going cashless there days. We agreed to pay in cash and proceeded to order. When we ordered the food, the server was extremely rude and said that don't expect good portion sizes here as this is Germany not Asia. He seemed quite full of himself and kept passing unnecessary comments as we dined. When the food arrived, the portion sizes were astounding. About 3 spoon-fulls worth of curry for €15. The food itself was ok, but there was a very hard object, probably a stone or uncooked piece of food which hurt my teeth badly. During our dinner, we used our water bottles to have a sip of water, and were told off by the waiter for having our water bottles on the table as it shouldn't be visible to other customers and its not allowed. How ridiculous! Finally, we finished and settled the bill. Once again the server passed comments and claimed that to avail the Berlin Welcome Card discount, we need to order drinks, but he'll let it pass this time as we seemed to be from India. This is completely wrong as the Berlin Card website clearly states a 25% discount off all mains and deserts and there are no extra conditions such as the requirement to buy drinks (see attached screenshot). We weren't even informed about the discount on the deserts. The staff here, especially the male server is full of himself and extremely rude and nosy. He will keep passing comments to demean you and won't let you dine in peace. He is entitled and discriminates against specific customers. I would highly recommend giving this place a pass for better alternatives where you can actually use a credit/debit card.

The two of us were in the restaurant yesterday. The waiter took a while to arrive, but was nice. The mango lassi was very tasty. Unfortunately the food was below average. Of the spices listed, I could only taste ginger. The chicken was also well hidden in the food. Unfortunately I was disappointed.

The condition and the food were wonderful. There's nothing wrong with that! Honest and delicious handwork👍🏻 I also liked the look of the guest room, but the toilets were older than expected. This point in itself is not worth deducting points for me. This is caused by the cleanliness of the toilet rooms and also by the non-functioning ventilation. Please improve this in the near future. :)
