Critic's Review – Medivino Bielefeld: Between Trauma, Tapas, and Total Chaos A visit to Medivino Bielefeld was supposed to be a cozy evening with tapas and wine – instead, it ended in a series of bizarre moments, poor organization, and service that at times resembled a real-life satire. The first of many problems became apparent right at the beginning of our visit: There were no glasses for drinks; instead, a straw was stuck directly into an overfilled 0.2l Coke. I ordered a 0.2l Coke, which spilled over from the Aperol glass of the neighboring table thanks to a tilted straw, tipping the balance like an ancient lever. The Coke then promptly flowed across the table – a refreshing start to the evening. Napkins? None. The small, strange owner, as he is described by many and as he presented himself to us, took off at that moment – instead of helping, he simply walked away. One almost had the feeling he was trying to save himself from his own restaurant. The so-called "tapas selection" turned out to be a plate of lukewarm disappointment: eggplants that had probably been sitting out in the air all day, and a selection that was anything but fresh or authentic. The highly praised beetroot carpaccio? Unfortunately, a sad plate of wilted slices with a flavor that was more reminiscent of transience than Mediterranean indulgence. The service tried to be friendly, but this unfortunately resulted in "trauma bombing" of the kind you only see on social media: Instead of menu recommendations, we received an unsolicited, intimate confession from our waitress – between drink requests and the main course. Particularly bitter: The table next to us arrived earlier but received neither bread nor aioli, while we received both – but with the added surprise that the aioli suddenly mutated into oil. Later, other guests had aioli again. A lottery with dips, so to speak. The chaos finally culminated in visual harassment caused by the constant staring of the small, strange owner, who also publicly complained that he "constantly has to run for his guests." A new straw? Too much to ask. Organization? None. The team (5 people) was clearly overwhelmed by the crowded outdoor area – even though there was no business inside. The highlight of the evening: The table next to us told of a physical altercation between the small, strange owner and an employee – during business hours! You can hardly imagine it. Conclusion: Medivino is a place where chaos reigns, aioli is a matter of luck, and the service oscillates between overwhelming and therapeutic. The quality of the food is abysmal. If you're looking for a quirky experience, you'll find it here. If you simply want good food, move on. 1 out of 5 stars – just for the fresh air outside.

A complete failure of service! We were there on a Thursday during the evening market. We waited an hour for drinks, which were ultimately forgotten, and after 1.5 hours, the mediocre food arrived. When asked what sauces were available, the answer was ketchup and mayo. Extremely unfriendly service! We weren't the only table that experienced this. Absolutely not recommended!

We went out to eat with friends yesterday. The drinks and food arrived very quickly. Unfortunately, the chicken skewers were very dry, as were the rosemary potatoes; they lacked olive oil and seasoning. The food was served on small plates. We expected more. We were disappointed with the service; after we received our food, nothing else came. No one asked for dessert or drinks. The ambiance in the restaurant is very pleasant. Otherwise, not my kind of place.

So first of all, the food was top class, although we had to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for it. What I found very unfortunate was that it wasn't until an hour after I asked that we received a basket of bread with aioli to shorten the waiting time. However, it was also on the house, as already mentioned, the food itself was very good Afterwards, the cashier didn't even want a tip for the inconvenience and the boss offered us dessert or a nightcap on the house. The evening itself was nice, but at some point the waiting time wasn't nice anymore.

My wife and I come from Stuttgart and were in Bielefeld at the weekend. While looking for a restaurant we came across Medivino and I was very impressed with the menu. You can make reservations via WhatsApp, which I think is very cool and we still received a personal call from the boss and luckily we got a table. The expectations were very high because the card promised a lot. When we arrived at Medivino, we were greeted by a thoroughbred restaurateur (Jimmy). The shop is very cozy and just has character. We immediately felt comfortable and the fresh bread at the reception with olive oil and the best aioli I've ever tasted made us even more curious about the rest. There was a variation of starters that blew us both away. Everything was perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented and individual. For the main course we had steak and sea bream. Both were perfect. The side dishes were perfect. To be honest, I don't know anything about wine, but I could taste that the wine we were served was good. The employees were also very nice. As soon as we are near Bielefeld we will visit the Medivino and your very special boss Jimmy again. Medivino is now definitely one of my top three restaurants in Germany. I travel around a lot and have eaten in a lot of restaurants, but here you not only get great food but also a lovely and unforgettable evening. Absolute favorite shop - Jimmi makes you feel at home, serves the best wine and the food is always fantastic. The restaurant is simply really stylish and beautifully furnished, you feel completely at home, whether in a small or large group, you always have an excellent evening at Medivino

We had dinner at Medivino with 7 people. First of all, I would like to mention landlord Jimmi's extremely flexible organization: Although there was actually no table left (we only booked on the same day), he made it possible for us to still get a table. We received great menu suggestions via WhatsApp and there were several phone calls and WhatsApp messages until we, a not entirely uncomplicated group ;), had everything dry. Well done, Jimmi! We received a very friendly welcome on site and were served quickly and efficiently by the service staff. Despite the busyness of the restaurant, everyone was friendly and relaxed and always completed their tasks with a smile. Keep it up! The starters were simply brilliant! A variety of delicious tapas were served and were very well received by all of us. This also applies to the respective main courses, extremely well prepared to perfection with sophisticated side dishes (e.g. vegetables) and tasty sauces. It was very good that there was a break between the starters and the main course, so the starters could sit down first and there was no rush. The interior of the restaurant is very chic and stylish without being over the top. All of the above shows my real enthusiasm. I have to drive from Stuttgart to Bielefeld to get a real culinary highlight that I rarely experience in my home country ;)!

The service is very bad. The food isn't particularly good, and you wait 1 hour for the starter and another 1.30 hours for the main course, and another hour for the dessert. The food comes very spread out, approximately 10-20 minutes apart. If you ordered something, like salt or the wine list, it didn't come or only came after you asked twice. There were about 20 of us and we basically had a waitress just for us, but everything still took forever. The food, especially the dessert, was from the fridge and quickly warmed up on the outside but cold on the inside. The price-performance ratio of the food is not good, the portions are very, very small and there is no sauce. So overall a restaurant not recommended.

I was at Medivino for the first time for a company event. We were warmly welcomed. Because we were a large group, we were given 4 main courses to choose from in advance. There was something for everyone. The starters were very tasty, very large selection and plentiful. The main courses were also tasty. Everyone had finished their plate. The crowning glory was the dessert. Simply delicious. The only thing I found to complain about was the time lag between the individual courses. I found it a bit long, especially since some colleagues had to leave early because they still had to work. Unfortunately, two of them didn't get dessert. Otherwise it was a very nice evening with great food.

A lovely, cozy evening with the family. This was made possible for us by good cuisine and attentive and friendly service staff. My advice: Be sure to grab the starters!!! We'd love to come back!

Very, very tasty food! We particularly enjoyed the starters. We received very courteous advice and service. The recommended wine was also great and rounded off the menu wonderfully.

As soon as you enter the Medivino restaurant you can feel the attention to detail. The decor is so beautiful and invites you to linger and relax. The reception was also so warm, you immediately felt welcome. The food was varied and the dishes sounded so tempting that it was really difficult to choose. So there were just a lot of little things that filled my table... from beetroot carpaccio with feta cheese and walnuts, vitello tonnato with tuna salsa, beef meatballs in tomato salsa, gnocchi with Zigen cheese and a wonderfully creamy burrata that I have never had anywhere else. The start was perfect. Everything was so beautifully presented. The ingredients were fresh and the flavor was excellent. My rib eye steak was also spot on. Really, really good. But I can't forget to mention the pistachio teramisu which was the perfect finishing touch... a poem. The service was very attentive but not intrusive. I have to say it was an evening that appealed to all the senses. Medivino is not just a place where you eat, but where you really enjoy. If you are looking for excellent food, great service and a relaxed atmosphere, you should definitely stop by here. Dear Medivino team, keep it up :-) I'll definitely be back soon :-)

Unserer Meinung nach war das Essen fabelhaft und mit keinem Restaurant in der Umgebung zu vergleichen.Wer sich kulinarisch verwöhnen lassen will, sollte das genau hier tun. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und der Service einwandfrei. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

The reception was very questionable after my friend was completely eye-scanned by the owner of the restaurant in an unpleasant way... then it continued... the strange little owner brought us cards and made very strange statements at the table that were inappropriate were. The starters came and were completely “OKEEE”, every now and then a waiter came and made some pretty unpleasant jokes, which I didn’t think was bad. When it came to the main course, I had ordered a meal that passed off as "veal" on the menu, but me and my partner didn't know that there was pork on the veal... as a Muslim I couldn't eat it and asked again if it was It was really pork... the strange little owner of the shop asked me "Are you Muslim???" I replied "Yes" the owner replied "Very bad choice..." I sat on the chair in shock with my mouth open and that's when I knew not what to answer. The owner didn't laugh or say it was fun or anything. My food was changed to chicken and when the food came the little strange owner of the shop brought my food with "soooo here is your chicken without pork" to which I was very annoyed by his statements which were not funny at all, in fact I felt like it “UNWELCOMING” conveyed. So I will never enter this store again, nor can I advise anyone to challenge this restaurant with a visit. One of the waiters also said “yes, our boss is strange, I’m sorry” after the statements were described to him. That should speak for itself.

MEDIVINO is a really tastefully decorated and unique restaurant in the heart of Bielefeld. The atmosphere invites you to stay! A wonderful and unique wine selection. In our opinion, the food was fabulous and couldn't be compared to any restaurant in the area. If you want to indulge in culinary delights, you should do so here. The employees are very friendly and the service is impeccable. We'd love to come back!

An excellent restaurant with Mediterranean dishes and a great wine selection. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the service is courteous and very attentive. The food is of high quality and the price-performance ratio is reasonable. Since the portions are not too large, you can choose a few small starters or an intermediate course to the main course without bursting. In short: a visit is definitely worth it!

In the heart of the city, the way to your heart is literally through your stomach. - The diversity and creativity of the cuisine is impressive and you will always be pleasantly surprised if you follow the recommendations of the attentive service team. There is something for every taste and is accompanied by wonderful wines. No matter when and what the occasion, it is always the right place to spend a great evening and meet nice people.

Auf der Durchreise machten wir Halt in Bielefelds Altstadt. Zum Abendessen suchten wir einen "Italiener". Pizza, Pasta, Chianti wäre schön. Medivino schien etwas davon zu sein. Zahlreiche Räumlichkeiten mitgeschmackvoller Einrichtung ließen Gutes erahnen. Beim Essen überließen wir dem Wirt die Auswahl und wurden von Gang auf Gang immer wieder aufs Neue überrascht: was angeboten wurde und wie es kulinarisch zubereitet und dargeboten wurde hatte nichts mit dem in deutschen Landen üblichen "Italiener" zu tun. Mediterran, international, mit Passion für gute Küche und pasendem Wein. Glück gehabt in Bielefeld!

Aufgrund der vielen super Rezensionen waren wir heute im Medivino um Tapas und guten Wein zu genießen. Also erst einmal ist zu sagen, dass die Tapas und der Wein wirklich gut, aber nicht herausragend waren. Soweit so gut... Allerdings lässt der Service einfach nur zu wünschen übrig. Nach der launigen Begrüßung gab es freche Sprüche am Tisch und ein Anschreien zwischen Service und Küche, der von uns als Gästen nicht zu überhören war. Das haben wir so noch nie erlebt und ist vollkommen inakzeptabel. Wir werden definitiv NICHT wiederkommen!!! Die wenigen Male, die man Essen geht greift man gerne auch tiefer in die Tasche, aber nicht, um dann so etwas erleben zu müssen!!

We celebrated my girlfriend's 32nd birthday here with 10 guests and I planned everything with the boss Jimmi. The ambience was great, the guests were very impressed by the food and wine, and of course we were too. The service was very attentive and we felt completely at home. Definitely a recommendation from us when it comes to tapas and good wine and if you also have something to celebrate, you're in good hands here.

Food was first class, and something different than the standard places in Bielefeld.

We got a tip from friends that Medivino had very tasty tapas and wine and we fell in love with the ambience - it was beautifully decorated and you just felt like you were in good hands in the shop. The service was very friendly. The boss Jimmi recommended wine to us and also drank some wine with us. It was really a ten out of ten whether it was the wine or the delicious food! We will definitely come back and celebrate my birthday here with our friends.

For me, the Médivino is the epitome of vacation on your doorstep. It is located quite centrally, in Bielefeld's old town on the beautiful Klosterplatz. If the weather is good, we definitely recommend sitting outside. But it's also super cozy inside. The furnishings and atmosphere can be perfectly described as Mediterranean charm. The team is attentive, gives good recommendations and is super friendly. The wines are very special, you can find a suitable one for every dish. Wine lovers will get their money's worth here. The food is also of high quality. We tried many different tappas dishes and with each one we not only said “Wow, that's delicious”, but also “that's exactly how it has to taste”. No matter whether it's a vino in the evening sun, a relaxed get-together with friends or a romantic meal for two: Médivino is always a good address.

The MEDIVINO is located in the heart of Bielefeld's old town and, despite its wonderfully busy location, offers space to linger and relax. In addition to the appealing Mediterranean ambience, there are wonderful wines that, thanks to the good service, go well with every occasion and with the great delicacies from the kitchen. We were also looked after very well and attentively throughout the evening, which rounded off the stay perfectly.

Because of the many great reviews, we went to Medivino today to enjoy tapas and good wine. So first of all it has to be said that the tapas and the wine were really good, but not outstanding. So far so good... However, the service simply leaves a lot to be desired. After the cheerful greeting, there were cheeky sayings at the table and shouting between the service and the kitchen, which we as guests couldn't ignore. We have never experienced this before and it is completely unacceptable. We will definitely NOT be coming back!!! The few times you go out to eat you like to dig deeper into your pockets, but not to have to experience something like that!!
