We visited Medivino in December after strolling through the Christmas market. We were seated at a lovely table in the back of the restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and special. We opted for a sharing appetizer and two main courses from the daily specials menu. A great choice. The food (fish and meat) is of the highest quality. The service is very attentive, and they offer excellent recommendations – you simply feel comfortable.

Then, each main course was served one after the other in the center of the table, with a small plate for each of us. This allowed us to sample many different and delicious dishes. Critic's Review – Medivino Bielefeld: Between Trauma, Tapas, and Total Chaos A visit to Medivino Bielefeld was supposed to be a cozy evening with tapas and wine – instead, it ended in a series of bizarre moments, poor organization, and service that at times resembled a real-life satire. The first of many problems became apparent right at the beginning of our visit: There were no glasses for drinks; instead, a straw was stuck directly into an overfilled 0.2l Coke. I ordered a 0.2l Coke, which spilled over from the Aperol glass of the neighboring table thanks to a tilted straw, tipping the balance like an ancient lever. The Coke then promptly flowed across the table – a refreshing start to the evening. Napkins? None. The small, strange owner, as he is described by many and as he presented himself to us, took off at that moment – instead of helping, he simply walked away. One almost had the feeling he was trying to save himself from his own restaurant. The so-called "tapas selection" turned out to be a plate of lukewarm disappointment: eggplants that had probably been sitting out in the air all day, and a selection that was anything but fresh or authentic. The highly praised beetroot carpaccio? Unfortunately, a sad plate of wilted slices with a flavor that was more reminiscent of transience than Mediterranean indulgence. The service tried to be friendly, but this unfortunately resulted in "trauma bombing" of the kind you only see on social media: Instead of menu recommendations, we received an unsolicited, intimate confession from our waitress – between drink requests and the main course. Particularly bitter: The table next to us arrived earlier but received neither bread nor aioli, while we received both – but with the added surprise that the aioli suddenly mutated into oil. Later, other guests had aioli again. A lottery with dips, so to speak. The chaos finally culminated in visual harassment caused by the constant staring of the small, strange owner, who also publicly complained that he "constantly has to run for his guests." A new straw? Too much to ask. Organization? None. The team (5 people) was clearly overwhelmed by the crowded outdoor area – even though there was no business inside. The highlight of the evening: The table next to us told of a physical altercation between the small, strange owner and an employee – during business hours! You can hardly imagine it. Conclusion: Medivino is a place where chaos reigns, aioli is a matter of luck, and the service oscillates between overwhelming and therapeutic. The quality of the food is abysmal. If you're looking for a quirky experience, you'll find it here. If you simply want good food, move on. 1 out of 5 stars – just for the fresh air outside.

A complete failure of service! We were there on a Thursday during the evening market. We waited an hour for drinks, which were ultimately forgotten, and after 1.5 hours, the mediocre food arrived. When asked what sauces were available, the answer was ketchup and mayo. Extremely unfriendly service! We weren't the only table that experienced this. Absolutely not recommended!

We went out to eat with friends yesterday. The drinks and food arrived very quickly. Unfortunately, the chicken skewers were very dry, as were the rosemary potatoes; they lacked olive oil and seasoning. The food was served on small plates. We expected more. We were disappointed with the service; after we received our food, nothing else came. No one asked for dessert or drinks. The ambiance in the restaurant is very pleasant. Otherwise, not my kind of place.

Gestern haben wir eine Dorade for two gewählt, die war auf den Punkt gegart, dazu Spinatpesto in bestem Olivenöl und weitere Beilagen, die für eine Geschmacksexplosion sorgen. Dazu bekommt man eine ausgezeichnete Weinempfehlung vom charmanten Gastgeber Jimmi und seinem überaus freundlichen und kompetenten Team. Bei gemütlicher Beleuchtung in schöner Atmosphäre, umgeben von einer einmaligen Einrichtung fühlt man sich stets als sehr willkommener Gast sehr sehr wohl.

Wir haben zu zweit dort einen genussreichen Abend in wunderschönen, modern mediterranen Ambiente verbracht. Die Vorspeisenvariation für zwei war ein Gedicht, Skrei und Saltimbocca als Hauptgerichte ebenfalls ein Hochenuss. Die sehr nette Bedienung war aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Der Chardonnay passte perfekt zum Essen. Das abschließende Glas Rotwein mit Jimmi zusammen hat den Abend perfekt abgerundet. Eine echte Empfehlung!

It was a perfect evening!! We let Jimmy take control and he not only surprised us but also spoiled us beyond measure! There is also a very knowledgeable sommelier there, with experience from the best restaurants in Düsseldorf and the Moselle. His wine recommendations suited our taste perfectly and went perfectly with the menu!! We keep coming back!

I had a wonderful birthday party, the table was beautifully decorated and a little apart so we could celebrate wildly and have good conversations. The atmosphere was typically Mediterranean, cozy and stylish. The menu was delicious even for my guest who required gluten free options. The wines were outstanding and perfectly matched to the respective course. The coordination in advance with Jimmi was also very good, as he responded very well to my individual wishes. The food was excellent - every dish was a delight, freshly prepared and tasted of the highest quality. The atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful and immediately gave us a feeling of well-being. The service was equally great – friendly, attentive and professional. For us it was a completely perfect evening. We can fully recommend the Medivino!

Medivino is a beautiful Mediterranean style restaurant. The food is varied and of high quality - something for every taste. The host is an original in the catering industry and runs his restaurant with a lot of charm, passion and energy. The perfect ambience for a nice evening with friends, a celebration or an event!

The price-performance ratio wasn't right and it was unclear whether the bread was a greeting from the kitchen or whether it was charged for. It is calculated and the filling up too. For the little things, bread is not included in the price. Food was ok, but nothing special. Ambiance is nice, service sometimes very inattentive.

The Medivino in Bielefeld is a real recommendation! The food is absolutely outstanding – we have never been disappointed here. Particularly noteworthy is the octopus carpaccio. Host Jimmi always has a good tip ready and gives perfect advice when it comes to wine selection. The atmosphere is rustic but cozy. In summer you can really sit outside on the monastery square. We have already spent many lovely evenings at Medivino and are looking forward to our next visit!
