Medici in Frankfurt am Main

The Medici is and remains an icon in Frankfurt. We recently went there in the evening with 10 people. Everything was delicious (as always) and the service was very attentive. My little daughter was even allowed into the kitchen to thank the chefs for the delicious food. Thank you very much for a wonderful evening.

The food quality, taste, presentation is just ok. Service is not that good either. We ate another restaurant a day before in Frankfurt by the river, it has similar price but much better by comparison. I will not recommend if you ask me for a restaurant in this area.

Habe mein Geburtstag gefeiert. Es war großartig! War schon einige Jahre nicht mehr im medici, die Qualität ist nach wie vor klasse. Der Service macht einen grandiosen Job,tolle weinberatung,aufmerksam und effizient. Kann das medici sehr empfehlen.

The staff is extremely mean and angry I went there to eat creme brulee when i saw on the internet reviews but it wasnt on the menu I decided to order other dish They weren’t good but only overpriced. I liked the soup only. Also the waitress lady looks like she’s about to beat me up. What have we done to you, lady? If you don’t like your job just quit instead of giving angry looks. The waiters and waitresses here made me and my boyfriend feel only uncomfortable and ruined our day. Never go there

Medici is and remains my absolute favorite restaurant! Finest cuisine at the highest level - creative, elegant and a poem in terms of taste. Every dish is prepared with attention to detail, the ingredients are fresh and of the best quality. The combination of classic cuisine and modern sophistication is particularly impressive. The service is first class – attentive, warm and professional. The stylish ambience makes every visit a special experience, whether it's a business lunch or a romantic dinner. For me, it's a culinary oasis in the middle of Frankfurt - anyone who loves modern, creative cuisine will adore Medici.

It was recommended to me by a friend and I honestly expected a lot more from this restaurant. I don't know if it's because I went at noon and the service and presentation of the dishes change for the better at night, but what I saw and ate had nothing to do with what I've been told and with the photos I've seen in other reviews. The person who served us was not able to recommend anything special on the menu, another waiter tried to take the dishes before we finished eating, the bathroom needs a good renovation. The price was the only thing that has a high level.

The Medici offers a pleasant atmosphere with friendly service and modern furnishings. The menu is varied, with the Mediterranean and Italian dishes in particular impressing with their good quality and appropriate portions. A recommended place for a relaxed meal in a cozy atmosphere.

The wine selection is awe-inspiring, speechless. The service is flattering and not intrusive. A suitable place to enjoy the evening sun and treat yourself to a glass of red wine.

Restaurant Review: Disappointment Across the Board I had high expectations for this restaurant, but was severely disappointed. The prices are overpriced, especially considering the poor quality of the food. The restaurant has a modern-day chic design that feels rather random and lacks authentic Italian flair. The dishes themselves didn't convince me. They lack the depth and flavor you'd expect from authentic Italian cuisine. It's also advisable to avoid giving feedback on the quality of the food, as this is often met with snarky comments from the waiters. In summary, the location matters more than the food. For an authentic Italian experience, you'd be better off going elsewhere. A definite disappointment.

Vom freundlichen Empfang bis zum Ende des schönen Abends, was alles bestens! Das Essen schmeckte hervorragend (bei jedem Besuch im Medici muss es als Vorspeise bei mir der Salat mit gebratenen Edelfischen sein, da er einfach himmlisch schmeckt) Als Hauptgang hatten wir heute das Rinderfilet und die geschmorten Ochsenbäckchen - beides ein Genuss. Das leckere Dessert und der Espresso haben unseren Abend abgerundet und wir haben zum wiederholten Mal einen tollen Abend in einer schönen Atmosphäre geniessen können. Fantastisches Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung, vielen Dank an die Küche und das Team - wir kommen wieder!

Das Medici ist verdient seit Jahren schon eines der besten Restaurants in Frankfurt am Main. Das Angebot der Speisen ist sehr übersichtlich und für Jeden etwas dabei. Ich war mit meiner Frau zu unserem Jahrestag vor Ort und wir sind begeistert. Das Essen eine Geschmacksexplosion für den Gaumen! Man möchte den Teller eigentlich gar nicht essen, da jede Portion mit sehr viel Liebe und Hingabe zubereitet und serviert wird. Ich möchte nun auf die Menschen des Medici kommen. Das Team der Simiakos-Brüder leistet einen vorbildlichen Service. Wir konnten in knapp 3 Stunden Aufenthalt erleben wie freundlich, zuvorkommend, herzlich, lustig und überaus professionell die Mitarbeiter arbeiten. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und herzlich aufgenommen gefühlt und werden zukünftige besondere Anlässe gerne wieder mit diesen wunderbaren Menschen erleben!

The Medici has deservedly been one of the best restaurants in Frankfurt am Main for years. The range of dishes on offer is very clear and there is something for everyone. I was there with my wife for our anniversary and we are thrilled. The food is a taste explosion for the palate! You don't actually want to eat the plate because every portion is prepared and served with a lot of love and dedication. I would now like to come to the Medici people. The Simiakos brothers team provides exemplary service. In just under 3 hours of stay, we were able to experience how friendly, courteous, warm, funny and extremely professional the employees were. We felt very comfortable and warmly welcomed and will be happy to experience future special occasions with these wonderful people again!

The biggest disadvantage: the Medici is around 300km away from where I live🥲 Second disadvantage: I couldn't say which course I liked best from the 4-course menu. Maybe the rack of lamb - it was perfect, I've never eaten it so well😋. The service was equal and just as perfect - very attentive and courteous. Thank you for the great evening…

Business dinner. Good food, good wine, a little over-priced and perhaps a little too crowded. But it was a lovely evening!

We went to Medici for the first time yesterday. It was a perfect evening! The evening menu was very good in every respect. We liked the presentation on Pordamsa dishes, the composition and quality of the ingredients, cooked to perfection (meat, fish and vegetables) and also the size of the portions. We made it easy for ourselves with the wine: ordered wine accompaniment and we were ready to go. What I liked was that they had great, local wines. The Palatinate or Ingelheim, with its VDP wineries, go perfectly with the dishes on offer. And last but not least, the service from the employees: always present and approachable, extremely courteous, friendly but not intrusive. It was a really nice evening! Many thanks to the team!

Wir hatten einen Tisch für 13.30 Uhr reserviert und uns auf das Mittagsmenü gefreut. Schon bei der Ankunft wies man uns daraufhin, dass das Lachstatar aus sei und es stattdessen geräucherten Lachs als Vorspeise gebe. Nachdem man uns ein Wasser gebracht hat, mussten wir gefühlt 20 Minuten warten, dann kam die Dame zur Bestellung und verkündigte, dass die Steakhüfte auch aus sei und es jetzt als Hauptgang Frikadelle gebe. Das war Anlass für uns unsere Wasser zu bezahlen und dem gelobten Restaurant den Rücken zu kehren. Wir haben uns nicht gut behandelt gefühlt sonst hätten wir sicher noch etwas anderes auf der Speisekarte gefunden und waren froh noch keinen Wein geordert zu haben. Es freut uns, wenn andere bessere Erfahrungen sammeln konnten.

We went for dinner on a Wednesday before Christmas. It was soooo delicious and the service was second to none. We absolutely loved it and still talk about it. We are already looking forward to the next time.

Gehobene Küche aber kein Gourmet. Service durchgehend sehr freundlich (wir hatten richtig Spaß) aber etwas amateurhaft. Die Gerichte werden ohne Einführung einfach hingestellt. Noch nicht mal beim Käse wird gesagt, was man überhaupt auf dem Teller hat. Das Essen war sehr gut, die Weinbegleitung nur OK. Auch die Weine werden nicht vorgestellt. Gegen Ende ließ auch die Aufmerksamkeit deutlich nach. Die Einrichtung ist sehr angenehm, doch die Tische stehen recht eng beieinander. Insgesamt hatten wir einen netten Abend, aber das ganze ist einfach deutlich zu teuer für was es ist.

Fine dining but not gourmet. Service was very friendly throughout (we had a lot of fun) but a bit amateurish. The dishes are simply presented without any introduction. Even when it comes to cheese, they don't say what's actually on their plate. The food was very good, the wine pairing was just OK. The wines are not presented either. Towards the end the attention also decreased significantly. The decor is very pleasant, but the tables are quite close together. Overall we had a nice evening, but the whole thing is just way too expensive for what it is.

It is a really nice top tier restaurant with a modern luxury cuisine and a nice service. Obviously in Frankfurt this comes at a cost but I have to say that their coconut ginger soup is one of the best I have ever eaten.

Amazing mushroom soup and tender duck breast that hit the spot at so many levels. The restaurant also has a lunch set that is very reasonable although I didn’t go for that. This is a place I will revisit for sure the next time I am in the city !

Food was great but not quite an Italian restaurant. Service was shocking and our waiter spoke no English. Took forever to get our meal and we didn’t get asked if we wanted another glass of wine to go with the meal!!! We were seated next to the bar so very easy to see we had no drinks, especially as waiters kept walking past our table!!!

We ordered the 4-course menu for a celebration at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the Icelandic salmon we had as a starter was extremely strong in taste and almost inedible. However, I would recommend the pumpkin and goat cheese plate, which was much better. Other than that, the shrimp and saffron pasta tasted rather ordinary and was far from being flavorful. For the main course, we chose sea bass, but the dish was disappointing. We couldn’t finish it because there was an off-putting smell indicating that the fish was not fresh. After coming home, we experienced stomach discomfort likely caused by this dish. The dessert was tasty, and the service was decent. However, the prices are high compared to the quality of the dishes. At this price point, the restaurant should at least provide fresh ingredients and unique flavors.

Great experience, amazing service and food!

We chose this restaurant with great excitement to celebrate our anniversary, but unfortunately, it turned out to be quite a disappointment. While the service and hospitality were excellent, the food fell far short of expectations. For starters, I ordered the marinated and flambéed Icelandic salmon. Although the sauces were flavorful, the salmon itself was disappointingly stale, with an unpleasantly strong odor that made it difficult to eat. The soup that followed was bland and completely forgettable. My main course, the sea bass, was another letdown—it had an overpowering smell and an unappealing taste, leaving me unable to eat more than a few bites. The only redeeming part of the meal was the dessert, which was beautifully prepared and truly delicious. Unfortunately, the overall experience was marred by the poor quality of the dishes, and to make matters worse, I ended up with an upset stomach later that evening, likely from the fish. It was a deeply disappointing experience, especially on such a special occasion.

Everything is just right here. Rarely have such good food been served. The whole stay was rounded off by the courteous service. Many thanks to the entire team.

Unser diesjähriges Weihnachtsessen fand in dem mir bis dato unbekannten Restaurant "Medici" statt. Wir kamen zu viert - und aufgrund unseres Hungers - bereits 30 Min vor der reservierten Zeit an. Kein Problem, die Begrüßung war freundlich, und unser Tisch war vorbereitet. Das Lokal war voll, das Personal flink und aufmerksam. Unsere Bedienung war ein absoluter Service Profi; sie nahm sich Zeit für Weinempfehlungen, war unaufgesetzt freundlich, herzlich und eine absolute gastronomische Fachkraft, die seit 9 Jahren im "Medici" arbeitet. Die Qualität des Essens war hervorragend, das Timing perfekt (was bei einem vollen Restaurant nicht selbstverständlich ist). Man hatte das Gefühl, hier arbeitet ein klasse Team motiviert und Hand in Hand. Preis / Leistung waren in Ordnung, da die Qualität sehr gut und die Portionen reichlich waren. Die Weinkarte war sehr umfangreich. Wir kommen in jedem Fall wieder!

We were so excited to go to this place, we heard such good things about it. It was not worth it. Upon arriving we were given menus but not the wine list. We waited and asked for the wine list and once received we were asked what we wanted to eat. We ordered our food, chose a wine and had to wait for the server to return. She did not. So we ordered the wine from another server. The wine arrived and the food arrived. We both ordered the beef but cooked differently. One of us got pepper. The dishes were reversed and we switched. So one got pepper but does not use pepper. So we ate. The food was good. We drank our wine. It was good. After we finished we waited,,,,,and waited. Finally we got to order dessert. We ordered a cheese plate. It took 20 minutes for the cheese to arrive. It was unceremoniously dropped on our table no description of the cheeses. Nothing. After eating we waited and waited for the check. It finally arrived after asking a staff member for the check and we were asked for a tip. We politely declined as we received no service. The food was good but there was no service. It was not pleasant as we spent most our 2 hours just waiting. This is a definite skip in my books.

I felt that the place is mainly for business dinners rather than family or social gatherings aside from business. However the food was not special aside from the artistic presentation. The beef carpaccio has so many toppings that I couldn’t find its taste . The fish was tasteless although I like the taste of lentils and parsnips purée. Service was good .

Nov 24 Dinner 2 of us One of the institutions in Frankfurt they say, make us want to try this modern European restaurant. We came without reservation but we managed to get a high table at the bar which is surprisingly very comfortable. Service was quick, kind and attentive. 10/10 They even cooked me the saffron linguini with 6 prawns which is not in the menu. We also saw they try to accommodate those who didn’t make reservation. Foods were all great. 9/10 Ambience also very nice. Casual chic. So I guess it is still one of the institutions here in Frankfurt. For us at least who first timer here in Frankfurt.

Everything I ate was delicious. However, do not be fooled by its name and think that it is an Italian restaurant, as they clearly state that it is not an Italian restaurant :)

We got to this restaurant with no reservations. Luckily there was an available table. The staff was friendly. The food was excellent. We loved the beef fillet, the soup, and the wonderful desserts: Creme brûlée and cheese cake that was light, not too heavy.

The lunch set is highly recommended, the service is very good and it is delicious. Remember to make a reservation in advance!

The Medici is a Frankfurt institution. The two chefs and owners cannot deny their roots in star gastronomy. The dishes are consistently harmonious and have that little bit more elegance, coherence and harmony.

Both of us (2 people) couldn't tolerate vegetarian dishes, either there were additives or spoiled food. There were also annoying noises from the automatic sliding door to the kitchen constantly opening, which was annoying and disrupted the otherwise nice ambience.

While looking for a nice restaurant with fine dining, I came across the Medici and it was a hit. Every single course on the menu was a delight! Every single dish had its own twist and was creatively prepared. The service is particularly noteworthy! We received excellent advice and care from Manus Schindel; Our special thanks go to him! We look forward to being there again next Friday.

2024.09.09 Enjoyed dinner and went on a group tour. The duck breast for the main meal was delicious, not too spicy, not too salty, and it was great to enjoy with mashed potatoes. The dessert was on the sour side, so I didn't particularly like it. The service staff are very friendly and handsome~

At first glance it looks like an upscale Italian restaurant. But the food is absolutely top class! Far from ‘standard’, perfectly balanced flavors. And all in a 4-course menu for €79. The wine list offers a variety of very good, upscale open wines with a relaxed price-performance ratio. This is rounded off with fantastic service who also knows their way around the wines. Unfortunately the food was much below expectations for the restaurant in the Michelin guide. We had lunch. Everything was too salty. The burrata in the salad was average. The deer and salmon nothing to rave about. The service was great though but it is only one ingredient for the restaurant to be recommended…

Wir sind wieder einmal im Medici eingekehrt und hatten einen wunderbaren Abend. Das Menü war ausgezeichnet in seiner Produktqualität und geschmacklichen Abstimmung. Wir hatten von den vier Gängen jeder etwas unterschiedliches und konnten dadurch auch die Alternativen probieren. Als Apero hatten wir „Bardöngchen“ Rosé und danach zum Essen einen m.E. fair kalkulierten Bourgogne Blanc der zu allen Gängen wunderbar gepasst und das Essen geschmacklich ergänzt hat. Für den Hirsch wurde ein Glas Bourgogne Rouge aus der Empfehlung gewählt. Es gab zwei leckere Amuse Gueule die mit schöner Frische auf die folgenden Gänge eingestimmt haben. Egal ob das Carpaccio vom Gambero Rosso, das mit dem roten Shisoeis eine fruchtig kühle Harmonie auf den Gaumen brachte, oder die süß-sauer eingelegte Rote Beete, beides ist ein idealer Start für einen so warmen Spätsommerabend. Die Linguine mit Sommertrüffel und Gazpacho waren dann ein sehr guter, leichter Zwischengang. Unsere jeweiligen Hauptgänge waren spitze. Der Seeteufel mit Coppa Schinken hat wieder sehr gut mit dem Wein harmoniert, der Hirsch war auf den Punkt gebraten und sehr saftig, als auch das Risotto mit Pfifferlingen und seinen Beilagen war ausgezeichnet. Und ein schön dekoriertes Dessert mit ausgezeichneter Schokolade hat das Menü toll beendet. Herr Krenzer und sein Serviceteam waren wie immer sehr nett, aufmerksam und haben uns für die Weinauswahl gut beraten. Im Kästchen mit der Rechnung lag ein Hinweis auf ein Raritätendinner. Für Freunde der Weine von Lucien le Moine gibt es am 23.11.24 ein abgestimmtes Menü. Abschließend muss hier einmal erwähnt werden, dass es unsere Gastronomie bestimmt schwer hat. Wenn aber ein solches Menü in Frankfurt Innenstadt für derzeit € 75,- zu haben ist und gleichzeitig ca. 150 km nord-östlich von Frankfurt € 11,50 für zwei Scheiben Bruschetta mit schlechtem Olivenöl und geschmacklosen Tomaten verlangt werden, oder kürzlich im Rheingau als Gedeckpreis zwei Scheiben Weißbrot mit Rahmbutter € 3,- pro Person(!) berechnet werden, dann stimmt etwas nicht mehr in den Kalkulationen der Letztgenannten.
