We ordered online today and are very disappointed. Our burgers arrived without patties. How could they forget something like that? 25 euros down the drain, thanks for nothing.

Welcome to McDonald’s Schwerte – Eating allowed, lingering prohibited I regularly visited the McDonald’s at Eckey 3 for quite some time to meet with clients and colleagues. In retrospect, it seems I misunderstood something: You are allowed to eat here – just not for too long. A client meeting was delayed (outragely!), I exceeded the magic 1.5-hour parking limit, and was rewarded with: €55 penalty fee + €8.75 in additional charges. Of course, I paid for the food – verifiably, by credit card and the McDonald’s app. But apparently, consumption counts for less here than stopwatches. On November 28, 2025, McDonald’s customer service promised me that the franchisee would contact me. Update from January 10, 2026: Interesting. No one has contacted me. Perhaps the clock is still ticking. Apparently, they're employing an innovative concept here: 👉 Ignoring regular customers 👉 Collecting parking tickets 👉 Elegantly shirking responsibility They advertise seating, Wi-Fi, and a pleasant atmosphere – but what they really mean is a drive-thru with a timer. Anyone having meetings or appointments does so at their own risk. Consequence: I now meet clients and colleagues at the competition. There, apparently, you can still sit without risking a penalty. Conclusion: An excellent place for a quick bite. An even better place to learn how to permanently alienate customers. Don't forget your stopwatch.

Since I was thirsty, I wanted to quickly grab a small Sprite! €3.09 for 0.2 liters?????? What kind of place is this??? Every gas station is cheaper! What a joke!

I grabbed some food while passing through. Unfortunately, two burgers weren't packed up and were forgotten. The fries were cold. Really awful!

This place is a disaster. If you order through Lieferando, the drivers still drive to other restaurants to pick up food and then deliver it. I called the restaurant, but nobody could help. They said they'd have to sort it out with the driver. What am I supposed to sort out with the driver if he never even showed up?

It's freezing cold in the restaurant right now. There seems to be no heating. All the playground equipment is broken. Please do not stop if you are passing through with children.

I think the heating has broken down. It's very cold, and consequently, the food got cold quickly. We were freezing. There's no charging station either. All the children's toys are unusable or broken.

Generally, McDonald's is okay, but I exclusively use the drive-thru or order online. Therefore, I can't comment on the customer service. The drive-thru is usually full, and wait times of 15-30 minutes are common. It's also crucial to check your order carefully after receiving it, as items are often missing. Furthermore, they tend to skimp on the fries. If I order a large and a medium, I often can't tell the difference in the amount of fries. Aside from these two drawbacks, the restaurant is alright.

A wide selection of food, not just burgers and nuggets, but also ice cream, for example.

Parking is only for 90 minutes, when there are a lot of people you won't have time and you will get a ticket for 66 €, this is a big minus

Unfortunately, I find the cleanliness in this McDonald's really poor, both the restrooms and the restaurant area. There are much cleaner and better McDonald's branches elsewhere; it's a real shame.

Now they're charging over €60 for parking tickets here, even though you're sitting and eating in the restaurant. Go somewhere else or watch the opening documentary. 😉 They've completely lost touch with reality.

Warning!!! Anyone who lingers there will be fined almost €64!!! Expensive burger!!! Yes, we were in the place the whole time, eating, drinking, and chatting away. Absolutely no cooperation whatsoever!!!

We were there late at night, after 10 pm. It was a mess. There was food and dirt everywhere on the floor. Chewing gum was on the seats, and the tables weren't clean. The staff was friendly and managed to turn our order into a set menu, which made the price cheaper. The restrooms were surprisingly clean.

We ate there on November 14th at 6 pm with four adults and three toddlers (ages 3-6). I placed the order at the table and via the app because the ordering kiosks were full and there were already several people waiting in line at the register! The order itself took 20 minutes, and then the children's Happy Meals were missing. I went to the register and pointed them out. It then took another 10 minutes for them to arrive! After eating, we each got an ice cream! We were finished by 7:30 pm and left. This week I received a letter from Loyal Parking stating that I parked there too long and owed €63, which I find outrageous for parking there 13 minutes over the limit. After speaking with the store manager, he said there was nothing he could do! I will never go to that McDonald's again!

Wow, not offering a single vegetarian burger these days is pathetic. Very disappointing.

The good ol' Mickey D's... though I have to admit the quality sure did go downhill since last decade, let it be anywhere. I tried the German McDonalds for the first time in this particular outlet, and the good thing was here (I mean Germany), there are sufficient vegetarian options so its still doable for those who have dietary restrictions such as Halal or Kashrut. I tried their McPlant burger, which was to say, didn't feel that much different than what I could've had back home, with the exception of a vegan patty for the beef. So as for food, I'd say not the best, but certainly not the worst (though, the prices may be a bit unjustified, typical from McDonalds...) Service was nothing too out of the ordinary, because frankly, its just a fast food place. You place an order via the machine, pay at the counter or at the machine directly, and wait for your number before you take home to eat or at the place. The atmosphere was something better off the bunch, with the modern aesthetic still in place that feels somehow pleasing to the eyes otherwise nothing much is to discuss for here. Though, the towering golden arches with the older-style logos are becoming rarer with time, and currently, this place still has them, which is a sight for sore eyes with the nostalgia I get each time I see it.

Attention: Anyone who leaves their vehicle in the parking lot for longer than 90 minutes will receive a ticket from Loyal Parking for €63.75, regardless of how much money they spend in the restaurant or how long they stay there.

Regarding my visit on November 5th from 8:46 a.m. to 11:27 a.m., I received a bill for €63.75 in the mail on November 13th from "loyal paking". I had breakfast there, worked on my computer, and enjoyed another coffee. Should I have left the parking lot before having that second coffee? When I'm working, I'm at McDonald's somewhere in Germany every day, but I've never had this happen before.

The visit turned out to be a disaster. I met my colleague for lunch, and now, two weeks later, I'm in for a surprise. LoyalParking has sent me an extra bill for €63 for my visit. On top of their already quite steep prices, it's simply outrageous! The branch manager tells me there's nothing he can do. That's not what I call customer service!

It always takes a long time. The restaurant smells like urine. The tables are dirty and trash isn't cleared away. Items are missing at the drive-thru. McDonald's can do better. I'd rather go somewhere else.

All in all, an outrage! Limited parking time, but you can eat a lot and spend a lot of money at McDonald's in Schwerte. Shame on you for penalizing customers with "parking times" when they spend a lot of money at your place. Disgusting!

Best to just drive to the next McDonald's!! They forgot the hash brown on the McRösti (it happens sometimes!). They forgot the sauce on the other order! And they poured the syrup and Sprite into the McFizz one after the other, so you can enjoy both flavors separately... don't mix them... or maybe check if the machine is broken. Just keep driving and avoid this McDonald's (see the other reviews!).

The food didn't arrive after more than 1.5 hours, despite a 40-minute delivery estimate. The staff couldn't tell me where the delivery van was. It's been almost two hours now; in the meantime, I ordered a pizza, which was reliable. Anyone who's hungry, especially after a long journey, should definitely not order from here.

Today, when I ordered takeaway, they forgot a drink, and something I've never experienced before: the Royal TS was missing the meat. That was the last time. From now on, I'll drive a few kilometers further.

Dear McDonald's Team, I would like to complain about a recurring issue at your restaurant: the ice cream machine seems to be out of service frequently, which disappoints my visit every time. The food is as always, BUT the many stars are for the staff. Greeted at the door, the restrooms freshly cleaned, a flower placed on each table, and they apologized for not having mopped the table yet, which they promptly remedied.

Necessity is the mother of invention...and leads to late-night searching for a McD's. There are currently a few new items on the menu, but for the prices, I'd rather go to Samira's Burgers & Bowls, where I get more value.

Unfortunately, we were here on Sunday evening after a BVB game, picking up food as non-fans. Of course, it was a bit busier, which is understandable and absolutely not a problem. But what we experienced here was simply disappointing. The wait for our order took over 40 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn't overly busy (no crowds, no line all the way to the door). In the big city where I come from, I also know smaller McDonald's restaurants that operate much faster on much busier days. One employee in particular caught my eye (black hair, glasses, hair clip, older). She first spilled my drink, which can happen, but instead of taking care of the orders, she calmly mopped the floor for minutes and chatted with a colleague while more and more customers waited. Afterward, she prepared my drink at a snail's pace. In addition, my order wasn't called or displayed on the screen; the bag was simply sitting at the front, without any indication. When asked about it, the employee was extremely unfriendly and rude, even though it was clear it was about my order. It was only her colleague (a blonde employee, who was very friendly, by the way!) who clarified that it was indeed my order. The other employee's response: "Then it's better that way." – that's unacceptable. On top of that, my drink was wrong, and instead of the ice cream I ordered, there was a Coke in the cone. With such unfriendly and slow service, I honestly saved myself the trouble of complaining. Bottom line: If you stop by here after a BVB game, the team should be prepared for something like this and adjust their work pace. The fact that some employees are so unfriendly makes the visit truly unpleasant. It's a shame – we will avoid this branch in the future.

Warning! Parking fees are a rip-off – completely disproportionate! Paying a €63 fine for overparking as a guest is outrageous and a deliberate rip-off! Poor signage! I'm no longer a customer there, as no one (neither Loyal Parking nor McD) offers any concessions!

A very good McDonalds modern and friendly staff only to recommend

Unfortunately, the staff is very incompetent, unable to fully pack orders "multiple times," and they show no willingness to find a solution. All you hear on the phone is "I'm sorry, I can't change anything."

I definitely won't be eating there again. Parking is limited to a maximum of one hour, and the signage is completely unclear. After six months, I'll get a bill for €63. What a joke.

If you're traveling on the A1 and want to avoid expensive rest stops, this is the place for you, and it's worth taking a short break from the train. Two huge advantages are, for example: a cup of coffee here costs €1.50, and the very clean restrooms are free. The food on offer here is, of course, the McDonald's range. If you want to save time and money, this is the place for you.

One of the coolest MC Donald's we've been to in Germany. I recommend it.

One star is too much. We've taken out twice within a week, and both times we received the completely wrong food. You're forced to go back and get the food you ordered. The staff is extremely poorly trained. We will not be going to McDonald's again from now on. We'll be looking in vain for any insight from the employees. Although we checked the food and the labeling was correct on the packaging, the food inside was completely wrong. Just like the first time, when half of it was missing. I was at the Schwerte branch with my grandson. We had a main course and dessert. The 2-year-old child played inside and outside. I didn't see any parking time limit. McDonald's says Loyal Parking sets the terms and conditions and has nothing to do with it. I've asked Loyal Parking, McDonald's Schwerte (franchise), and McDonald's Germany for goodwill. Nobody cares! This is my first Google review, and it had to be done now because I'm incredibly angry about this story. I would have preferred to donate the 63 euros to a good cause; now Loyal Parking has it in its mouth. Conclusion: I will never go to a McDonald's again.

Be careful! PARKING LOT RIP-OFF!!! I stayed at this restaurant with several people for a while and ordered multiple times, and now, as a thank you, I received a bill from loyal parking that I consider a hefty €63 for exceeding the maximum parking time! The last store!! The audacity arrives in the mail a few days later: anyone who parks too long will have to pay 63 euros. Anyone who doesn't actively inform their customers about such behavior or distance themselves from it shouldn't be surprised by disappointed customers. I certainly won't be coming back.

A good McDonald's near the highway. The entrance is a bit narrow and blocked by people ordering a McDrive. You'll need a bit of patience to get into the parking lot. This is the filthiest McDonald's I've ever been in. The floor on the entire ground floor is sticky. There's trash everywhere. The tables don't seem to be wiped down at all. In the men's restroom, both urinals were broken. The stalls were filthy. We were there on a Sunday evening around 9:15 p.m. But at least the food came out quickly.

This McDonald's branch is located directly off the Schwerte motorway exit. It's one of the larger branches, but it has a functional outdoor area with a slide, a modern interior, and a sufficiently large parking lot. There's a McDonald's drive-thru. Overall, the branch was very clean, and the service staff were friendly. The burgers and fries were fresh and hot, and the drinks were cold!

Be careful, customer service is not a priority here. I ate there with two children and they were naturally playing on the outdoor slide. After waiting about 30 minutes and reordering, we received a €63 fine for staying too long. Royal Parking boasts a 7-day grace period (including shipping, so depending on the weekend, 2-3 days) and immediately threatens high late payment interest. The branch ghosts you, McDonald's itself promises to resolve the matter, but since the branch manager is playing ball and simply says nothing, "McDonalds can't do anything either" and then ghosts along. I used to like going there more often, but this was definitely the last time. In any case, a great tactic for scaring customers away!

Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience with Royal Parking! Unfortunately, there's no sign at this branch indicating that parking time is limited. I find this NOT customer-friendly and it cost me €64. I'll be avoiding this McDonald's branch from now on.

Getting the right order here is a matter of luck. And: I've never seen such a dirty McDonald's restaurant.

This is my second time here. And you have to wait forever for your order, even though it's not busy. The floor is dirty and very greasy, making it very slippery.

We were at this restaurant earlier and ordered for just over €30 at the MC Drive-In counter: Burger M MC Rib Fish Mac Big Tasty Bacon Curly Fries When we got home, we were very annoyed when we unwrapped our order. The ingredients from the M and Big Tasty Bacon were almost completely wrapped around the burger in the box, and the staff even went one better by placing the MC Rib upright in the bag next to the other burgers – the sauce from the MC Rib completely ran out of the burger and into the box! They also didn't provide any serving napkins, let alone the obligatory wet towelette that comes with the MC Rib. Of the curly fries we ordered, there were only a few scattered between the standard fries! You crave McDonald's once a year and then you're so disappointed – for €30, you'd expect a lot more!

I'm a regular at this McDonald's, but today I have to leave a bad review. The fries I got were obviously not fresh. I don't know if they were reheated—they felt like they came out of a microwave. The Coke Zero I ordered was a regular Coke. The iced latte had barely any flavor.

The wrap is inedible. Regardless, there's now a €63 fine if you park in the parking lot for a while and eat your food inside. A complete no-go. Notices are only posted on extremely small signs. Zero goodwill from the restaurant or the parking association. Never again.

Why? ...several employees are standing around unmotivated, one of them discusses her pay and her motivation with the shift manager in front of the guests in a way that which would justify termination without an audience, she did NOT work with her arms crossed - even after the conversation. If anything, the colleagues who were already standing around whispering continued to blaspheme. This is anything but customer-oriented and, if at all, belongs in an employee room or after work... Respect for the shift manager, who didn't shout back, but stayed calm and took the lady to the back for a moment. (Unfortunately without achieving lasting success) The fries are only half full, the apple turnovers take over 15 minutes... if more employees would do their jobs instead of being bored, the orders would certainly be ready quicker and there wouldn't be a few doing all the work. The way things were going, you could also save on staff and pay the hard-working people better, they certainly deserve it. ...all in all, it was an unpleasant visit... but hey, the wrap was delicious.

What a stupid shop, after a long wait I finally got 2 Mincraft Happy Meals for my kids and then discovered at home that there was some dinosaur crap in them instead of the Mincraft toys I ordered. No way that was the last time.
