A shower costs €3 and you just leave your keys. A new, large truck parking lot is hidden on a road between Serways and Aral, away from the noise and bustle of highway traffic. THERE'S PAPER IN THE TIR-TOYS, AND THEY WERE PRACTICALLY EMPTY ON FRIDAY!!! I don't understand those drivers who, even with such a well-maintained and well-managed parking lot, still see drawbacks.

It's just a motorway service area... nothing to complain about, but also not a place where you'd want to linger forever.

Cold, not very modern - but basically adequate - very clean - the toilets are average for a rest stop, but I would still prefer one further or one earlier.

The restaurant is cold! It's a disgrace. You can't even eat comfortably because the temperature inside is barely warmer than outside. The Wi-Fi is poor. Prices are rather high, and the quality is mediocre.

First stop to charge the electric car. Despite the construction work, everything went smoothly. The rest stop had a very nice atmosphere. A large selection. Very friendly staff.

There may be a large parking lot, but at 10:30 p.m. everything is closed and there is no information - on Google Maps it also says it's open, even though the light inside is on, all the doors are closed.

If you need a shower, go to the coffee shop. 3 euros plus a 10 euro deposit. No key required. Two showers are available.

Come from Chochimas. There is a toilet and shower. Shower 3€. There is a large parking lot inside for trucks. It can accommodate at least 100-150 cars. The only parking lot in Germany is Boskere. Malades. There are free toilets in the new parking lot.

Disrespectful behavior of staff On Friday, October 3, 2025, I stopped at the Lichtendorf Süd rest stop (A1 towards Kassel) and bought a coffee and some gummy bears. Unfortunately, the staff were extremely rude: Two female employees with short hair (one older) sat right next to me, gossiping about my family and giving us dirty looks. This behavior is disrespectful and completely unprofessional. It's clear to me: I will not be visiting this rest stop again.

The parking lot is big, yes, it's great here... the staff at the service is just rude, one day you only need the keys, the second day you need a passport to go to the shower... everything is dirty, not cleaned... it's a pity you can't give a negative rating... management, pay attention to the complaints!!!!

The large parking lot is great 👍 but the staff and service are terrible, there's no respect for LKW drivers. By 10:00 PM, you can't even take a shower at the gas station or restaurant; only in the morning between 8:00 and 6:00 AM. And the fact that the driver might leave the lot before it opens doesn't matter. Not only do they charge €4 for a shower, but you can't even get in. 😒And the parking lot is terrible 👍

Excellent large new parking lot. While the gas station itself is undergoing repairs, many cars drive by thinking that everything there is closed!!!! Just like at the entrance to the gas station itself, BUT there is a narrow opening (and yellow signs) leading to the LKW parking lot, where there are plenty of spaces, and even at 9 PM it was quiet.

Well, the thing about the concrete desert parking lot for truck drivers is unfortunately true, but the parking lot is relatively quiet and very large. There are supposed to be 170 parking spaces for trucks. During the day, you can go up to the restaurant where they serve Burger King and other food. There's free Wi-Fi from Tank und Rast, which is also free. The showers are large and cost 3 euros with no time limit. They open around 5:30 p.m. and they're relatively clean. There are also toilet containers and portable toilets in the truck parking lot. The restaurant always opens at 6 a.m. I think the gas station is open 24 hours a day. I can't say anything about the restroom facilities because I haven't had to use them yet.

Under renovation. Behind the gas station, a new huge parking lot has been built for over 150 trucks with a bathroom and toilet, which are insufficient for so many places. But the parking lot is clean and well-lit for now.

Very busy and long wait times because you could only order and pay at the information/ordering station. The restaurant next door closed at 6 p.m., dinnertime! So twice as busy. The fast food wasn't good either. The fries were very white, the burger was overloaded with sauce, and there was no straw with the drinks. I won't be back.

As a rest stop, it's perfectly fine. You can choose between Nordsee, Burger King, and standard rest stop food. Nice seating inside and out. During our visit, everything was clean.

We ordered a burger, fries, and a Coke from Burger King via a terminal. The wait was quite long. When the food was ready, we sat down at a table covered in crumbs. My wife's burger was a mini burger. It was so sad to see that we had to laugh about it. My burger was almost cold. The fries were lukewarm, and the Coke tasted like Diet Coke. All in all, it was awful; we should have skipped the trouble.

A super-large truck parking lot, one point deducted because there isn't a single shaded spot. For the short walk, there's only one portable toilet on the lot; they could have built a decent restroom with a shower there. The important thing is that there's enough space for parking; the driver isn't that important... I didn't go inside the gas station, so I can't rate it.

A newly opened parking lot has been opened, replacing the old one (which was closed) at the Raststätte Lichtendorf Süd. There are plenty of well-lit parking spaces, with access to restrooms in a container or to ToiToi portable toilets. Warning: The entrance is poorly marked and easy to miss, making it impossible to turn around. When leaving the highway, turn right before the gas station, drive past the pumps, and then follow the signs.

The Lokum is filthy - not cleaned in a long time. The restaurant is closed. Overall just a bad experience.

After a long drive, we stopped for lunch. Since they advertised Nordsee, we wanted to eat something here. Unfortunately, Nordsee was closed. We then ordered two fries boxes with chicken sticks and fried cauliflower florets plus a Coke from Gusticus for €9.99. The billboard said it should have included three chicken sticks, but there was only one fries in the meal. The fries were too salty. Conclusion: It's a shame to pay €20 for a poor snack.

Maybe we should clean the rest stop more often!

The kiosk, café area, and restaurant (Burger King) are absolutely fine. 🙂👍 The restroom facilities are rather poor (despite Sanifair). What a shame... 🙁

One star only because of the stupid rule about shower collateral. First of all I don’t think it’s legal for cashiers to ask for personal ID (passport, driver license), I don’t feel comfortable leaving my personal ID to a complete strangers. Secondly, how come that my phone is worth more as collateral than my truck, and how do I know that my phone wasn’t cloned, or my passwords stolen ect? (Also didn’t feel comfortable, but left phone rather than ID because I didn’t have cash with me) Third option is 10€ as collateral which I recommend and there’s atm inside but I noticed it too late and I’m sure on those 10€ withdrawal you pay a 2-3€ fee. So for all the colleagues truck drivers out there I recommend to avoid this place when it comes to showering. And for the owners I would like them to give me logical explanation for all those stupid rules, especially because nobody is going to check the state of the shower after we shower and then return our collateral back?! I could destroy everything in the shower and leave and still have my phone with me or 10€ or whatever, hence “STUPID RULE”.

The parking is just great! You rarely find such a thing in Germany! The shower for 3 euros with a toilet also deserves the highest rating, although there was no soap in the dispenser! Disadvantages: 1) the bio-toilets in the parking lot are in very poor condition... 2) I don't understand why it is impossible to put washing machines and dryers in such a large parking lot...

Review for service station on the A1 – disappointing and unprofessional I stopped at this service station around 6 a.m. this morning to take a shower. According to the signage, the facility is supposed to be open 24 hours – but everything was closed, no staff on site, and the shower was unusable. This is completely unprofessional and shows a lack of respect for drivers and travelers who are out and about at night or early in the morning. If you're not open 24 hours a day, you should clearly and accurately state this online and on-site so that people don't rely on incorrect information. Because of this incorrect information, I missed several other gas stations where I could have showered in time. It's Saturday morning, I'm in a hurry to get home – and everyone has their own needs and schedules. Please revise your information and take responsibility – this shouldn't happen on a German Autobahn.

I've stopped here several times to get a snack during my trip. However, today was my last stop at this gas station. A large, long-haired dog behind the counter near food should not be allowed. Hygiene regulations apply here, too! Damn, that's disgusting! Of course, I'll forward this to the relevant department with a photo...! Construction site, the surroundings are terrible. Trash cans are full to the brim, and the trash is piled high around it. This is not a place to rest at the moment.

It's cool that they made a large parking lot

Good rest area, friendly staff. But the parking policy of the 🚗/🚛 leaves a lot to be desired (snapshot 09.07.25). I didn't even have room for a driver change because so many people were parked very... there. I'm well aware of the lack of parking, but you can still park reasonably well. And if you then exert your 🧠, maybe one or two more 🚗/🚛 can park there... but that doesn't count towards the 4-star rating. Just a heads-up for the 🚛 drivers among us😉

The food from Shrike King and Gusticus is available around the clock, but the fish stall is always closed, despite its advertising. It's also very run-down and dirty.

We stopped here for a break. We bought something. Prices are a bit higher than usual, but it's on the highway.

The shower is within the minimum conditions. Hot water, but it smells like feces and the toilet is dirty. However, the staff are super friendly and polite. I went to Burger King and they served me a single lettuce stalk. But the portions were good.

When I was driving to Cologne with my boyfriend we stopped here for a break. Unfortunately it was very crowded at the time, but to stretch our legs and not have to drive for a while it was quite good :)

No. I was hungry on a long drive, pulled up to the rest stop (a little after lunch, on a weekday), and quickly glanced at the menu posted outside: Currywurst! So I went in. I politely said "a currywurst with fries," and the answer was a simple NO. What, no? They don't exist! But it's on the menu. But they only serve it on weekends. The next question was whether he was trying to rip off hungry people. No, only on weekends. Stupid place. I recommend the smaller rest stop a few kilometers away.

First of all: it's perfectly legitimate to charge for using the restrooms. After all, they have to be maintained, not to mention cleaning, etc. BUT: it's not okay if you're not allowed to redeem the vouchers. Then don't do it, that's fine, too, see the previous comment. What annoyed me: I didn't know that you can only redeem one voucher for goods in the shop. I got so rudely told off at the rest stop today because I thought I could redeem multiple vouchers. They then snatched the goods I wanted to buy with them out of my hands with the comment: "Then I won't get anything." Not a word of explanation; I was essentially completely forbidden from making any purchases. Impossible! That's not how you treat customers.

How is possible a gas station on the highway, with testaurant and burguer king and is impossible eat at 21.00 hours??? Workers inside and tells you, is closed!!! Than we go to gas station part to eat anything like a saussage and the same??? Sorry we have nothing to eat we close soon!!!???
