McDonald's in Erlangen

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The table was dirty and wasn't cleaned. The cola was served warm and there was no ice. Furthermore, the prices were significantly overpriced compared to the quality. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Lately, they've been charging for using the toilet, and I find that completely unacceptable. Anyone eating here must, of course, wash their hands before eating – that's a basic matter of hygiene, not an extra service. If they're charging extra for something so obvious, they shouldn't expect guests to clear their own tables. Just as responsibility is being shifted onto the customers, we're not obligated to take on additional tasks. This can and should be understood as a sign of our protest.

The Big Mac was cold. The fries and curly fries were soggy. We ate there. They charge a flat fee of €1 for using the restroom, of which you can redeem 50 cents if you order something there again. There were neither paper towels nor soap for washing hands. It stinks like crazy.

The food and service were very good. I was sitting at table 26 and the door kept opening, which is unavoidable, but if you have an entrance with two doors, you should use them, because it was freezing cold at the first tables near the entrance 🤬😡

It's outrageous to be laughed at by an employee!

Charging one euro for using the filthy toilet is outrageous. And I didn't get a voucher; the machine wouldn't print it. The food is typical McDonald's, but the restaurant itself is very nice, located in an old post office building. The service: unfriendly and pushy.

I had to wait in line for half an hour, only to find out that there was actually no more food. They could have communicated that beforehand.

The food was good, but everything else was a bad joke. They charge a flat rate of €1 for using the toilet, regardless of whether you're a customer or not. Several of us spent around €40 in total and still had to pay to use the toilet. And what do you get for that? One toilet door wouldn't close, there was no toilet paper, and two out of three toilets were completely soaked with urine. To charge €1 for such conditions is simply outrageous.

I have rarely experienced anything so outrageous. Typical quality one would expect from this establishment. BUT: €1 for a toilet visit??? And this despite having eaten there.

The staff was racist!!! We were asked to pay for toilet even though we bought food. They were allowing kids to use it for free but not allowing adults to pass by along with kids to help our kids. Or kids are 4 years and under. They were publicly yelling at us and humiliating us at our table. I never thought this was the image of Germany and would see this in my first visit here. Extremely poor service, racist behaviour and bad rules especially in the popular location of Christmas market.

A McDonald's with a café. Central location. The coffee and Egg McMuffin always make a delicious breakfast – the price/performance ratio is excellent.

No matter the special request, like no tomato, it's all ignored or forgotten. The place is packed, yet everything upstairs or in the back is blocked off, and sometimes an entire burger is simply left out of the takeaway order.

It’s fine but the service is trash

Since my childhood over 30 years ago, it's simply been a nostalgic place and one of the first places I go when I need something small at night.

It's both annoying and irritating that every single time I pick up my order, they immediately press "ready for collection," and then I still have to wait another 5-10 minutes before they call my name. I've just experienced this three times. Stop manipulating the stopwatch just because you're obviously too slow!

Disgusting service. Monopoly coupons are being removed and sold by staff. Simply disgusting.

The food was okay, just like you'd expect from McDonald's. The staff were friendly and quick. The place could be a bit cleaner, but that's unfortunately also due to the customers. What I can't understand is why customers have to pay €1 to use the restroom. 🫡

Generally speaking, McDonald's is usually pretty good. However, it's happened several times now that I've either received no toy at all or the wrong one with my Happy Meal. I then had to argue with the staff about which toy I wanted. This shouldn't happen and is starting to get annoying. You should know.

You can't expect normal service here, as the waiters will never smile. In particular, a male waiter with a tattoo on his arm seems to take great pleasure in exercising only the limited rights of a waiter and will not offer you friendly service.

Wow, how do you manage to mess up a simple order of fries and a McPlant Wrap Mango Curry? I got a honey mustard wrap instead. Luckily, the nuggets were veggie and also bone dry; the wrap was cold and everything was just thrown together. Almost all the staff, except for one person, barely speak German. What's going on?

This morning around 9 a.m., I simply wanted to exchange a cup. A taller employee, however, seemed to take this as a personal insult—he had to argue with me in the middle of a crowded restaurant. It almost seemed like he was enjoying this small moment of "power," which he apparently rarely gets. For a company like McDonald's, this kind of behavior is simply embarrassing and disappointing. I hope management takes a closer look—other guests really shouldn't have to experience this.

I would like to complain about the behavior of an employee at your branch in Erlangen. The lady was extremely rude and disrespectful to me. She spoke in a very rude tone and showed no customer service at all. I was honestly surprised and disappointed, as I usually know McDonald's as a place with friendly service.

I haven't been so disappointed in a long time, phew. It looks fancy, but the music is way too loud for conversation. They serve greasy/finger-foody food and charge extra for using the toilet or even washing their hands. The toys aren't up to date either. Language barriers arise when you ask a question to the staff instead of the terminal. It's really sad.

I just ate here with my family for over €30. The food was okay. But I have to ask my family if they want to go to the bathroom first!!!! They wipe it maybe once a day, and ten seconds later, another Happy Meal, complete with a drink, falls to the floor. It's like Sisyphus, only with a McFlurry! And the customers do their part: Kids knock over milkshakes, adults lose Chicken McNuggets, and someone is guaranteed to have a shoe that's had a stick of gum as their constant companion since 1998. The McDonald's floor is essentially the archaeological journal of fast-food history. So next time you visit: just accept it. Look down, take a deep breath, and say, 'Oh look, there it is again – the famous McSludge.'"

It tasted absolutely terrible. The Big Tasty was once again incredibly rancid. The sauce was utterly flattened. All in all, another waste of money. I'd come back 👍👍👍

They didn’t allow the coupon from my McDonald’s app only because there was a Bergkirchweih fest happening in the town and they wanted to make maximum profits by not letting us use the coupons. I am a local and I was very disappointed to not able to use the coupon. Edit: New Update: They improved a lot and are very generous. I got satisfied with just a klein pommes fries. Keep it up!

Apple turnover wasn't even warm or fresh. Since I wanted to get something to drink, I said it quite normally, but the young lady wasn't interested; she just shook her shoulders and nothing else happened. The employee was very unfriendly. She didn't feel like working from the start. She just looked annoyed. You could tell she didn't feel like serving. Afterwards, I got something different than what I ordered, and in the end, she argued that I had ordered it. I would take a German course first before I go to work there, maybe it will be easier then.

The food is like any McDonald's. Service is fast. Using the restroom costs €1, even though you order and eat there, and the restrooms aren't properly cleaned. If I have to pay extra, I expect cleanliness and hygiene.

But then my 5-year-old child suddenly wanted to go to the bathroom. In a panic, we found the blocked-off aisle where we still had to pay somewhere. Then a "friendly" employee came and laughed at us instead of helping. I said, "Please let us in immediately!" After a few phrases, I was told that toddlers were free, and I was finally allowed through. On the way back, the kids decided to order dessert, so I ordered a Coke to finally finish my hot dog... My jacket, a couple of umbrellas, and a women's bag were left at the table. When I turned back from the booking machine, after a few minutes (!) everything that was on the table: the food along with my hamburger, drinks, and children's toys from MD, everything had already been cleared away!!! Even though my personal belongings were left there to show exactly who was there. And?! The women's bag is gone! An employee was walking in an unknown direction! I noticed it by chance and stopped him. The bag was saved! Reported the incident to staff. What happened? Nothing! Absolutely! Everything's fine, as usual. What a disappointment, never again! If you suddenly land there, open your eyes! Like on the tracks! I'm so excited that even someone came here to save you... Unfortunately, I can't give negative stars. Regards.

I had my order within a minute. I ordered at the counter while many others who had arrived before me were still busy entering their orders on the screen. I simply prefer people.

Unfortunately, vouchers cannot be redeemed during the mountain season. It would be possible, but unfortunately, you don't want to. After all, it's all about maximum profit. The turnstile only lets one person through – having to pay an additional €2 for my two small children to comply with common hygiene standards in these latitudes and eat a "clean meal" is outrageous to me! Even the announced "deduction" of 50 cents from my order was "unfortunately no longer possible" because I ordered at the terminal and paid with a card – as planned! 😡 What's that all about? After all, there's no "restroom menu selection" at the terminal... oh? That would be an improvement? Please forget about that! The shift manager was so unfriendly, unwilling, and incompetent in dealing with the request for a solution to the problem that it's simply better to avoid this branch! Ugh, shame on you, McDonald's Erlangen!!! 😡 NOT wheelchair accessible! Stairs at the entrance (several steep steps) and a turnstile barrier to the restrooms! Strollers had to stay outside - worst service at McDonald's worldwide so far!! Plus, our food (3 meals and ice cream desserts) was NOT up to the usual McDonald's quality! 😤 Fries were too greasy, burgers were dry, and there was hardly any sauce, etc... No longer recommended. We each got a menu and were disappointed. The fries were soggy and didn't really taste good. The oil was probably not hot enough, which is why the fries soaked in oil instead of becoming crispy. The burger bun tasted old and so did the salad. The sauce from the "Der M" burger no longer tastes like it did at the beginning... The Coce Zero was also more watery in taste. To top it off, the milkshake was extremely thick and tasted very artificial. If you charge such prices, you as a customer can certainly demand a certain taste and standard. But if the burger doesn't taste good, you won't come back. If you want to go to the toilet as a customer, you now have to pay €1... As a paying customer, I find that cheeky. You pay for your food and then have to pay for the toilet. In other branches you don't have to pay anything if you buy something. There is the pin for the door on the receipt, in a branch a lady sat at the entrance to the toilet and looked at the receipt (date) and you were allowed in.

Incredible! For the first time in my life, I didn't touch the menu, fries (unsalted and old oil, was used) + drink (Sprite, almost only water flavor and ice cubes) was also inedible. The salad on the burger tasted old! The blueberry muffin was dry and totally crumbly. From this I conclude he was old! You spend so much money and nothing you order tastes good!

I have visited different McDonald's every week but here in Erlangen they charge $1 euro and then they pay you for the ticket well that's what the ticket says but it's not true and they don't even say it's not possible🫢😑😑😑😑🤨, you'll say it's not much but this place fills up to death and they don't want to give access to use more space on the ground floor or upper floor, it's always full xk Erlangen is university city we consume all the time, my question is what they do with the money from the bathroom fee? Everything is approximately standard for McDonald's, but a paid toilet is, of course, a surprise for such a seemingly small town.

Unbelievable, you eat on site and then want to clean your hands of mayo, ketchup and half-fried fries as well as the dirty table and then have to pay for it again? Sorry, no, absolutely no understanding of that. Print a QR code on the receipt, install a reader on the turnstile, then at least your guests have free access! I grew up in the area and have known this store since I was little. I haven't seen the upper floor open for about 10 (!) years. In general, a little more hygiene would be good, as many tables and benches are dirty. The TVs downstairs also seem to no longer work. Maybe a little overhaul would be good. After the play area was replaced by McCafe years ago, which no longer exists, this corner of the restaurant is rather desolate. The burgers and fries are sometimes rather cold, but otherwise as usual at Mcces. The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me and it is not their fault that this branch is understaffed. The toilets have always been dirty, but it's crazy that you have to pay for them now. In any case, the conditions have not improved.

It's a terrible place and service I've ever had. I ordered a double cheese burger takeaway. But they gave me a different shitty burger. I called them, and they just 'sighed' and said, just come and get a new one next time. They didn't give me any solution for now. They should apologize, at least.

The food was quite good so far, but the toilets were underground. There is no paper to wipe with, the toilet seat is loose and asking for a euro to go to the toilet is an absolute disgrace! There is no heating there and you are very cold. The citizens were far too small and too expensive!!

This is the worst McDonald's I've ever visited. Back in the 90s it was still clean, nothing was broken and the top was still open. Now it's just a garbage dump. I was there on a Sunday, very little going on, some tables hadn't seen water in a long time and someone must have spilled sweet liquid on the floor in the entrance area. Point surprisingly, €1 is charged for using the toilet. The food tastes as always. The service was okay and since there was nothing going on it went very quickly.

Tired MacDonalds. The chicken nuggets were grey and slimy, which have made me and my daughter sick. Nice staff but standards need to be raised.
