McDonald's in Bochum

The restaurant places great emphasis on cleanliness. During our visits, the food was always served hot and freshly prepared. The staff is friendly and attentive. Children of all ages are warmly welcomed. The noise level in the restaurant is also pleasant. Furthermore, ample parking is available. The only point of criticism concerns the designated disabled parking space, which is intended exclusively for disabled individuals. Unfortunately, it is frequently occupied by delivery services due to its convenient location. Alternatively, some guests occasionally treat this space as "their" personal parking spot. It would be desirable if the staff or management paid closer attention to this and addressed this inappropriate behavior.

As others have apparently already experienced, things are often forgotten and the store doesn't care. You are given the option to complain about the order, but the promised contact never happens. This is the third time this has happened to me, and I always say, "Third time's the charm." Next time, I'm going to make a scene in the store.

The best McDonald's I've been to in Germany. It's very clean and tidy, the staff is friendly, and there's even a restroom, unlike the McDonald's in downtown Dortmund. The order arrived quickly, and everything was delicious.

Unfortunately, almost everything arrived cold today. Only the nuggets were hot. They shouldn't prepare the tray in advance and wait until the last item is ready. Next time, everything will be returned.

On December 8, 2025, I ordered various burgers for pickup. Everything was on time. However, once I got home, as has happened several times before, I discovered that some burgers, fries, or other items were missing. Despite my immediate official complaint to McDonald's Germany, I have received no response from the Bochum-Harpen branch after more than three weeks, let alone an apology or a refund for the overpayment. Therefore, I can only recommend that everyone visit this McDonald's branch for dine-in only, and not for takeout orders. Otherwise, one of your customers might starve! 🤣

We love going there as a family. Ordering at the table via an app is super convenient, and the service is absolutely fantastic. It's child-friendly and clean. The food is also hot and delicious.

I was at the drive-thru and no one answered. I drove into the parking lot, went inside, and asked why no one was answering. Apparently, they were too busy (there were two people waiting), so they simply turned off the speakerphone. Seriously? That's outrageous! You can answer and ask to wait a moment, that's how it works, but just turning off the speakerphone and leaving customers standing or sitting there like idiots is completely unacceptable!

The food was cold, and the fries were cold too. I ordered it without pickles, but it came with them 😕. I wouldn't go back to this branch in Bochum. I'm very disappointed 😭.

This McDonald's restaurant showcases authentic fast food. Absolutely clean, a very pleasant atmosphere, and the friendliest employees around. It's simply a pleasure to visit.

Yes, I can recommend it. I didn't stay there, but took it home. It was quite busy that day. The nuggets with curry sauce and the fries were delicious 😋 I don't eat there often. But every now and then I get a craving for the thin, crispy fries 🍟.

Super delicious. I had one of the special burgers. Philly cheese or something. Really juicy and delicious. The price was unfortunately quite high, but for the size and quality, it was worth it. A good amount of cheese sauce and braised onions.

The staff was very hectic and couldn't handle the influx of customers. From our seats, we could see through the café to the kitchen and noticed the tension among the employees.

This is the best McDonald's I've been to in Germany. Everything was clean, my order was ready in seven minutes, and it was a very large meal. The atmosphere inside is also very pleasant; you can see that McDonald's is new and nice.

I'd gladly give it zero stars. I can't understand how someone could be so incompetent as to pack two incorrect burgers out of four and then forget one altogether. Pack three regular fries out of three, one of which was a potato fries, and then pack the promotional nuggets instead of regular nuggets. They didn't check once, and almost the entire order was wrong. Thanks for nothing. The burgers had also completely fallen apart in the box, and the fries were at the very bottom of the bag, with others on top, and were completely flat. I've always been satisfied, but today it was a complete disaster.

It's disgusting that you don't get what you order. If the drive wasn't 25 minutes, I'd force the entire order into the store.

This McDonald's branch in Bochum is ultra-modern and very clean. There's also a McCafé. There's a large indoor area with plenty of seating and an outdoor area with a play tower. There are plenty of parking spaces and charging stations for electric cars. The cappuccino was hot and delicious. The employees were friendly.

I'm usually happy with this location. But today, ordering a drink in the parking lot was truly disappointing: The employee handed me a drink in a completely unstable cardboard holder, a Coke fell directly onto my car seat—and instead of offering any help, reacting, or at least napkins, all I got was "Okay, bye." No replacement, no accommodation. That's just bad service. Mistakes can happen, but how you handle them makes all the difference.

It's very, very clean there. We didn't even wait 10 minutes for our food, and it was served warm. Tray collection is also very well organized with waste separation. There's even a container for liquids. Almost all other McDonald's restaurants could learn a thing or two from that! The restrooms are very clean, and you don't have to worry about catching any illnesses. The staff was very friendly and seemed well-organized. We'll be happy to stop by again if we're in the area.

We went to McDonald's today (Sunday, around 2:30 p.m.) and were pleasantly surprised. The branch is modern and very clean – both inside and outside, where we sat. We particularly liked the new self-order kiosks, which worked perfectly. Our order arrived very quickly, and everything was fresh and hot. The parking is also excellent – right outside and there's plenty of it. Overall, a really great visit. We'd love to go again!

We ate at this McDonald's restaurant again yesterday. It's improved even further since the last time. This is the best McDonald's we've ever been to. Extremely clean inside and out, including the parking lot. The restaurant's interior is very stylish. The restrooms are very clean. The tables and floors are meticulously clean! The staff is super friendly. Even though we wanted to pick up our food ourselves at the counter, it was brought to our table. The food was freshly prepared and delicious! Overall, this restaurant is highly recommended. A 1a rating is still too low, but unfortunately, it can't be any higher.

I ordered a chicken Big Mac, a regular Big Mac came out and two waters were missing. I went in and mentioned that the burgers were wrong, and then they got the wrong ones again. Then after I got the burger there were pickles on it even though I had asked for them. I just wanted to go home, so I took them and I didn't care that the pickles were on them. But the manager just took the burgers without me asking, and I got them half an hour later, and the manager argued with me about how unfriendly he was, and the burgers didn't taste that good in the end.

We are very disappointed. You can expect the burgers and fries to be reasonably warm at around 8:30 p.m. when you order something at the drive-thru. But when the sauce for the nuggets is warmer, I ask myself: why is that? Are they trying to scare customers away? Do the owners not care how the products leave the premises? Has the staff been trained sufficiently? OK, I understand if someone is having a bad day and doesn't fully master the German language, but throwing the bag at me, so to speak, without handing it over, I find it a bit harsh and disinterested in the customer. OK, what does that mean? Never again. I hope not many guests think that. But honestly. I don't care. It's over.

I highly recommend this branch. Even though it was quite busy, the food arrived really quickly and very hot. Cleanliness was top-notch; tables were always cleaned immediately. It had a very modern and well-maintained feel, which is how all McDonald's should be.

It's one of the cleanest McDonald's you'll see. There's plenty of parking, but unfortunately, there isn't much else to do nearby, like shopping or walking. Instead, it's worth visiting the nearby FitX and then heading to McDonald's. The terrace is also very nice; you can sit and relax for a while. The clientele is pleasant, not like you'd expect at a McDonald's by the main train station. It's fine for a relaxing coffee in between meals. I find the facility clean and atypical for a McDonald's. I highly recommend it.

I pre-ordered food via app and picked it up. Absolute chaos inside – a single employee to take orders, operate the cash register, and deliver the orders to the tables and cars – one – and the store was packed. It took forever despite pre-ordering. At home, I noticed that a cheeseburger I had paid for with points was missing. I wrote to McDonald's. They allegedly forwarded the matter to the franchisee. After 27 days, there was no credit for the points, nor any contact.

Unfortunately, my visit to the McDonald's on Harpener Hellweg in Bochum was very disappointing. The service was truly poor – the staff seemed annoyed, rude, and unhelpful. A simple question about my order was met with a rude response, and I searched in vain for a "please" or "thank you." Friendliness and customer service are far from the point. I will avoid this location in the future.

I don't even know where to begin, because this visit to McDonald's was simply the worst thing I've ever experienced—and that's putting it kindly. As soon as I entered the store, I was looked at as if I were disturbing the place. The employees were standing around, talking to each other, no one said hello, no one cared that customers were there. Friendliness? None. Customer contact? Absolutely nonexistent. It feels like everyone there is forced to work—with zero motivation, zero commitment, and absolutely zero respect for customers. I ordered a Filet-o-Fish—and what was then handed to me was an absolute disgrace. I've never seen such a neglected burger in my life. The top of the burger was somewhere on the left, the base was shifted to the right, the fish was crooked, the sauce was on the edge of the wrapper—just a mess. It looked like someone had angrily thrown the burger against the wall and then put it back together—or maybe not. When I tried to complain politely, the employee hurled a serious, annoyed "Why?" at me. No "Oh, we're sorry," no interest in fixing the problem—just pure ignorance. I was truly speechless. "Service desert" is an understatement. That's not how you treat paying customers. That's not how you treat anyone. The entire team there seems completely out of place. Nobody knows what they're doing; everyone seems overwhelmed and completely disinterested. You don't feel welcome, but more like a problem that needs to be dealt with as quickly as possible. I will never set foot in that store again and can only advise everyone to stay well away. Something urgently needs to be done here—new staff, ideally a complete replacement of the crew. A store like that shouldn't even be allowed to be open.

I have ordered a mcflurry with caramel sauce but it was just two drops of sauce and brownie pieces was terribly hard not soft

I was really pleasantly surprised by this McDonald's branch! Everything was super modern – bright, clean, and with new ordering terminals that work really quickly and easily. The food tasted excellent: fresh, hot, and exactly what you'd expect from a fast-food restaurant. What particularly struck me was that my order came extremely quickly, yet everything was still perfectly prepared. Exactly what you'd expect from McDonald's – but unfortunately, not something you get everywhere. This branch definitely stands out from many others. Friendly staff, a good atmosphere, and a feeling of quality that you don't always experience with fast food. I'll be happy to come back!

Unfortunately, the team management didn't know what respect meant. In front of the customers there was loud swearing, insults and disrespectful communication with employees. Aggressive and loud behavior is almost unbearable. Everyone on site felt uncomfortable. Pretty unprofessional.

The bad-tempered boss drags everyone into the abyss of his dissatisfaction. First he complains to himself in the kitchen, storms through the shop and slams trays around. He yells at the employee in the middle of the restaurant and in front of the customers. His two-year-old daughter works more independently. Absolutely outrageous and humiliating. He then runs through the store and slams the chairs onto the tables. His bad mood, aggression and unprofessionalism can be felt throughout the store. Incredible!

We came when the Minecraft promotion had already ended, and from the very beginning of the promotion I wanted exactly the bee figurine. We looked for it everywhere but couldn’t find it anywhere. I asked the staff if they had any figures left, and they looked very diligently. Used to be my No.1 MC restaurant - fries 🍟 were still raw - immediate exchange. Fries were hot but dripping with fat when seen at neighboring tables / exactly the same - BUT eaten because I was hungry.... Nobody needs a glass campaign when the store is full and therefore only poor quality food is served?!

It was another one of those days when you ask yourself where the friendly dealings with people are. The following situation arose: My son needed another packet of ketchup and went to the counter. He was quickly served with the words that ketchup costs money and he couldn't get any (our table was within sight and we are there almost every Friday). I then ordered a package (60 cents), of course delivered to the table. After 5 minutes without service, I went to the counter to get the ketchup. I am aware that there is nothing left to give away, but with a little empathy you can solve this process differently. Maybe it was the MA's inexperience, but there are seminars for that. I ask for internal clarification of the process. Thanks PS: An inexperienced MA will ruin your rating.
