I celebrated my 50th birthday at Mayer’s in Schleiden. From the planning to the celebration, everything was perfect. We were 60 people. Delicious food, great team and great boss! Thank you very much for the successful celebration! H. Fischer-Schneider

I can't say anything about the quality of the food. Unfortunately, you can only pay with a card if the meal value is over 30 euros. Since I wanted to eat there alone and 30 euros worth of food was too much for me, I left again. A pity. Maybe that will change someday. Then there will definitely be more stars. 3 There was because the staff was very nice.

Über die Qualität des Essens kann ich nichts sagen. Leider kann man dort erst ab einem Essenswert von 30 Euro mit Karte zahlen. Da ich alleine dort essen wollte und mir Essen im Wert von 30 Euro zu viel war, bin ich wieder gegangen. Schade. Vielleicht ändert sich das ja mal. Dann gibt es bestimmt mehr Punkte. 3 Gab es weil das Personal sehr nett war.

We celebrated our wedding there and were thrilled from start to finish. From the planning to the preparations to the celebration, everything was thought of. We received very good advice from the owner regarding the buffet as well as the design of the hall. The food was excellent, everything was as discussed and served to the minute. The service was top. Very attentive, not intrusive at all, friendly and quick. The location was very well designed for our celebration and offered enough space for the guests, the DJ and the large buffet. We can only recommend everyone to celebrate their festivals here. We really enjoyed ours.

What should be positively highlighted are the friendly service, the good location of the restaurant (free parking), the cleanliness of the location and the sufficiently large portions. In terms of taste, the dishes are okay, but they don't stand out in a particularly positive way. The fries are too salted. The schnitzels are served with boring ready-made sauces and flavor enhancers. The burger is probably not even 100% beef and tastes average at best. Plus an inconsequential salad buffet. In addition, an extra 70 cents are charged for a mini bowl of ketchup/mayo. Conclusion: If you don't expect too much, you can eat well here and be full. However, the comparatively high prices (schnitzel €19.50, burgers from €17.50) are incomprehensible despite inflation and a VAT increase. Maybe that's also a reason why you can't find the price information on the online menu ;-) As a family or company, I wouldn't necessarily come here again. Due to the nice terrace, the restaurant is very suitable for bikers and travelers.

Without registering we only managed to get 2 places. Super friendly, attentive service, nice atmosphere. There's probably something on the menu for almost everyone, but for me it's more than enough. Visually everything is presented very attractively. And best of all: we really enjoyed it. Both the main course and dessert were just good. Gladly again. Heerlijk gegeten bij Mayer's restaurant & café. Sfeervol en uitgebreide menukaart. Ik bestelde een pannetje, en het menu werd geserveerd in een hete ijzeren pan. Verder was er ook een aparte saladebar aanwezig. Vriendelijke bediening, echt een aanrader. En niet duur!!!

I went to the Christmas buffet with my in-laws on Christmas Day and it was great! There was an endless selection of very well prepared meat, vegetables, side dishes, delicious sauces and much more, which is why we had to go several times. The dessert was also a bomb in terms of taste. The service was friendly, always gave us a smile in return and they responded to our wishes. We never had to wait long for our drinks, even though they were busy because the restaurant was full. The price was also totally justified for the selection and quality of the food. Above all, you shouldn't ignore what the kitchen has achieved! The buffet was never empty and there was not a piece of meat or fish that was too dry for me or a sauce that was too watery. The food was really perfectly prepared! Finally, all I can say is that it was a really great evening with delicious food and I would eat at Mayer's again and again.

We had dinner there today with a large group (around 30 people). At the same time there was a larger group there. Nevertheless, the food was top and the conditions were very friendly.

Mayer‘s Restaurant bietet eine abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte. Wir haben schon eine ganze Reihe dieser Speisen genossen und waren sehr zufrieden. Alles war frisch und von guter Qualität. Die Getränke sind gepflegt und lecker. Der Service ist sehr gut! Kurzum, wir gehen immer wieder gern zu Mayer‘s Restaurant und werden es auch in Zukunft weiter tun.

Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend, man geht auf Extrawünsche ein, sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Absolut empfehlenswert! Herzlichen Dank für das schmackhafte Essen 😃

Wij aten een tosti hawai met ananas en een halve perzik, colaatje erbij en moesten € 31 afrekenen, helaas hadden ze geen federweiser meer. Het leven is duur geworden.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und auch schnell zubereitet. Der service war sehr gut, das Team ein eingespieltes und sehr gut aufeinander abgestimmt. Erstaunlich, dass es noch so viele junge Menschen gibt, die in der Gastronomie arbeiten und dies mit Leib und Seele tun. Ein Punkt Abzug, da wir genau an der Theke saßen, im Nebenraum eine geschlossene Gesellschaft war und diese immer an uns vorbei laufen mussten. Das war etwas störend, wenn einem jeder auf den Teller starrt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Personal sehr Nett und Essen war Lecker

Wir haben am 22.09.2023 unsere Hochzeit bei Markus und seinem tollem Team gefeiert. Beim ersten Termin und treffen haben wir schon gemerkt, dieser Mann hat Ahnung und uns auch viele hilfreiche Tipps gegeben. Super sympathisch und professionell. Wir haben uns richtig gut aufgehoben gefühlt und auf den großen Tag gefreut. Während der Planung stand er uns immer für Fragen oder Änderungen zur Verfügung. Am Tag der Hochzeit waren wir einfacher nur begeistert und unsere Gäste waren mehr als begeistert vom Essen, dem Kuchen und dem Service. Da wir im Vorfeld der Suche nach Location schon das Gefühl hatten, dass bei dem Wort Hochzeit gefühlt 50% alles teurer wurde, waren wir bei Markus auch beim Thema Preise sehr angenehm überrascht. Es ist alles sehr fair und dem Anlass entsprechend. Wir können jedem nur ans Herz legen, der für Kommunion, Hochzeit, Taufe oder andere Feste eine schöne Location mit hervorragenden Essen und super Service sucht, sich hier bei Markus zu melden. Wer es nicht macht, bereut es später. Lieber Markus, vielen Dank das du und dein hervorragendes Team dazu beigetragen habt, dass unser schönster Tag im Leben so grandiose war. Macht weiter so und wir werden uns definitiv auch ohne großes Fest nochmal sehen um euer super leckeres Essen zu genießen. Liebe Grüße Familie Gentz

Gutes Essen zu einem fairen Preis. Ich hatte eine toll gebratenes Schnitzel Wiener Art mit frischen Pfifferlingen und einem, nein zwei schönen Gläsern Rotwein. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Was mich ein wenig gewundert hat ist dass man nicht am Tisch bezahlen konnte sondern nur an der Kasse am Tresen. Ich würde immer wieder dort hingehen.

Das Essen war lecker aber die Bedienung war sagen wir mal...nicht ganz bei der Sache und man meine sie hätte keine Lust. Radler 00 bestellt und gebrachte wurde Pils 00 dann wurde ein Gesicht gezogen als es angesprochen wurde. Es wurde gefragt ob man das Fleisch was nicht geschafft wurde eingepackt bekommen könnte und es hier " ja natürlich" aber es wurde bis zur Bezahlung nicht zurück gebracht, da hat man dann auch keine Lust mehr nochmal nachzufragen.

Das Essen war ok. Geht sicher besser, war aber auch nicht schlecht.

Im Vorfeld sehr freundlicher Kontakt. Die Menüauswahl lässt keine Wünsche offen. Und das Essen hat allen Gästen (insgesamt 18 sehr gut geschmeckt) Für uns steht fest JEDERZEIT WIEDER

Essen war gut, preise fair, allerdings war die Küche und der Service überfordert, mit der großen Anzahl an Gästen. Damit das Restaurant besser funktioniert sollte der Service besser koordiniert werden, und die Küche muss das timing der Speisen deutlich verbessern.

Das Schöne bei Mayer ist, dass man immer liebevoll und herzlich begrüßt wird. Die Gerichte und Anrichteweise ist eher altmodisch, aber solange es schmeckt, würde ich da nicht meckern ;-) An der Portionsgröße könnte man noch etwas nach oben schrauben, das ist aber auch der einzige Makel.

Gute Qualität, gehobene Preise, Quantität etwas schwach um wirklich satt zu werden.Wir haben 7 Restaurants im Raum Schleiden/Gemünd getestet, jeden Abend ein anderes, Preis/Leistung stimmt bei Mayers für uns nicht wirklich. Wir testeten als Paar immer zwei verschiedene Gerichte per Abend. Meyers liegt eher im Mittelfeld.

IMPORTANT: At the time of our visit (June.2021) no card payment was possible. CASH ONLY! Check that before ordering. Now, my partner and I went here one summer afternoon to get some lunch and - we weren't disappointed, but.... The location of the restaurant is, well.... a bit unfortunate, as it is laying right next to the road. It is mostly normal traffic, but still, if you are looking for some nice quiet establishment in the nature - you'll just have to look further. The restaurant has it's own parking spots, but these are a bit scarce for the capacity of the establishment. So we parked at a nearby parking lot (just across the street). It was free at the time, but it is not always available as it is sharing a bus station. However, one should not worry about parking as there seems to be plenty around. I am not sure whether this establishment is suitable for persons with disabilities. :/ The service at the arrival was nice and we were seated outside without reservation (summer.2021, COVID-19 restrictions being gradually reduced, mostly outside dining possible). COVID-19 measures (masks and disinfectant) were obligatory, but that was usual and (mostly) everyone obeyed. The food was - good. We had grilled chicken with croquettes and some side-salads, and it was delicious. The beer was delightfully refreshing (Kölsch) because it was rather hot summer day. The toilets were - almost immaculate. Very clean, very tidy. Absolutely commendable on the part of cleaning staff. Unfortunately, I have to give a piece of criticism here, as I find it a bit rude to take the dishes away, while someone is still eating. Now, I do not consider myself to be "Poshy", but that is just simple rule of politeness: DO NOT TAKE THE PLATES AWAY UNTIL EVERYONE HAS FINISHED. It might be appropriate for some large gatherings, where people of all kinds are in attendance, but when you take my plate away, while my girlfriend across the table still has half of the meal on the plate - that is simply impolite (and bordering rude). Yes, it is possible that you have "a deficit" of plates in the establishment, but then you have to approach me and explain that it is so and that, because of that, you would like to take my plate. Then I would simply have no other option but to respect your work and effort and give you full 5 stars. When you make "plate taking" your daily business, than you shed dim light on the whole experience and the review would be in the same category. Now, when we ordered, the waitress was actually writing down short price-codes on one of our coasters (small round cartons that go underneath the glass). I hate to think what would happen when one of these got lost or wet or something. Discussions about payment are always (bordering) humiliating and this kind of approach just begs for such "happenings". Further, when we called for paying - I got NO RECEIPT. We called the waitress and said that we would like to pay. She asked us for a minute and said that she will call for her colleague. Fair enough, no problem here - everything is normal. However, when this other girl came, she examined the mentioned coaster thoroughly, got out her notebook and started writing. At that time it was obvious that, should one ask for a receipt, one should wait for her to go back inside, type everything into cash register, print out the receipt and bring it back outside. This is a drag for the customer as much as it is for the waiter. (And no, she did not have "remote terminal". Since the card payment option was not available, it was obvious that something was "off" here). Still, we find this to be quite simple and, in the way of cleanliness, commendable place. We do not recommend it especially and would probably not sit here again, but I do not think anybody will regret eating here. Endlich wieder möglich im Restaurant zu essen, das Essen sehr lecker, Preis / Leistung ok, Bedienung freundlich, Toilette sauber, gerne wieder

De bediening was formidabel. Het eten was heerlijk. Alles volgens de laatste richtlijnen qua hygiëne en toch heel warm en knus. Het kan dus wel. De serveerster heeft mij uitstekend geholpen met de grote keuzemogelijkheden op de kaart. Dit restaurant is zeker waard om even langs te gaan. Een volgende keer voor ons zeker weer.

Dit restaurant beviel in de afgelopen week zo goed, dat we laatste vakantiedag hier nogmaals zijn gaan eten. Wederom snelle bediening en smakelijke gerechten. Salade zelf ophalen bij buffet, en voor de niet zo grote drinkers denk eraan een klein glas frisdrank te bestellen! Wij kregen eerste keer gelijk halve liter Fanta te verwerken! Creme brulee had wat romiger gekund, ijs daarentegen was verrukkelijk! Aanrader!

Ein schöner Platz um ein gutes, bürgerliches Abendessen zu sich zu nehmen oder auch nurt etwas zu trinken.Lockere Atmosphäre und gutes Essen ohne Schnörkel.

Wir waren am Wochenende im Rahmen einer Weihnachtsfeier mit 14 Leuten im Mayer's essen. Und ich wurde sehr positiv überrascht. Das Restaurant war brechend voll und wir durften á la Carte bestellen. Daher war meine Befürchtung groß, dass hier einiges durcheinander läuft und/oder es ewig dauert. Aber ich wurde eines Besseren belehrt. Alles lief reibungslos. Die Mädels im Service waren alle total engagiert und freundlich. Die Getränke kamen zügig, es gab keinerlei Probleme mit den Essensbestellungen - ich war wirklich begeistert. Die französische Zwiebelsuppe als Vorspeise kann ich sehr empfehlen, der Flammkuchen Italia war auch super lecker. Und als Dessert das warme Schoko-Küchlein - mega! Mayer's - ihr habt mich sehr positiv überrascht. Danke.

Wir haben mit einer Gruppe von 12 Personen Freitags-Mittags und Samstagabends hervorragendes Essen, Getränke und Service genossen, in sehr angenehmer Atmosphäre. Alle Gäste (aus dem gesamten Bundesgebiet) waren hiervon und der familiären Gastfreundschaft sehr begeistert. Auch der Ausklang in der Gaststube Freitags- und Samstagabends hat uns viel Freude bereitet. Sämtliche Vereinbarungen wurden zuverlässig eingehalten. Klare Weiterempfehlung!!

We lost our house key and we still needed to eat somewhere.. We called 5 restaurants at 22:30 and only Mayer could make us some food. We're happy:) (ps.. Food was good as well !)

Stopped here on the way back from the Rhine area of Germany. Place is spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly. Both our main meals were very tasty and not expensive for what we got. Portions are large and could easily be shared without problem. Has the advantage of both its own car park and also long stay public parking right next door as there is some kind of nature reserve/walking trail nearby.

There is lots to choose from on the menu. The food was rather good. Not the cheapest place in town, but worth it.
