It was my first time to visit this place and I will recommend, I enjoyed every minute in this place especially the food was excellent and value for money.

We often eat here and it always tastes good, especially beer. However, I am disappointed because on our last visit there were guests with dogs. I think it's absolutely not appropriate for this place and instead of being able to enjoy my food I should hear dogs barking. And in general it's too loud, music as a background would be nice for the mood.

We went for Christmas dinner with our whole family. Everything was right. A thank you to everyone who tried to create a pleasant atmosphere for the guests. Super organized.

Classic in Lahnstein, good for dates with the woman. Food was great, price was reasonable and one of the waiters was interested in my taste in beer. 10/10 the guy. Restaurant also great. The dilation was pornographic.

The Maximilian Brauhaus in Landstein is a real insider tip, especially for the cold season. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating a particularly welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Perfect for romantic moments for two, a family evening or simply to eat well and enjoy time. The staff was extremely friendly and we were shown straight to a quiet spot. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant and romantic - you immediately feel at home. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes. We chose the Berlin-style beef liver with mashed potatoes and apple rings as well as a meat platter. Both dishes were excellent, both in quality and preparation. The portions were so generous that we had to have some wrapped up. The selection of drinks also impressed us. We had dark beer, Riesling and white wine, which went perfectly with the food and rounded off the evening wonderfully. Another highlight of the restaurant is its location directly on the Rhine. We often come here in the summer to eat outside with a view of the Rhine. It's just wonderful to sit outside, enjoy the summer or take a walk along the Rhine before going to the restaurant. The Maximilian Brauhaus is a beautiful place in both summer and winter that offers a special experience in every season. Overall, our visit was a complete success. The Maximilian Brauhaus is worth recommending not only because of the special dishes such as the Berlin-style beef liver, but also because of the great ambience, location and attentive service. We'd love to come back!

I would like to give the service 0 stars. Disorganized and very very slow. Absolute disaster. It wasn't even super full, so that really ruined the whole evening. Food & drinks were quite good.

It's been a long time since I've had such a bad meal out. The service was pretty bad. As a guest you quickly felt no longer valued. In addition, the price-performance ratio is not justified for the taste. Personally I think it's a shame.

Service below all ***. Unfriendly and make the guest feel unwanted. Were put in the very last corner even though the dining room was virtually empty. The food used to be so good. Now the fried potatoes were cold and the salad was sour. The prices are constantly increasing (almost outrageously) while the quality is decreasing. It's a shame but we won't come again.

Quaint brewery, delicious beer and good food.

After a long time we went to try the brewery again. Unfortunately, like the last time, we were disappointed. We ordered turkey steak +-150 gr from the grill, 2 small hash browns and a small side salad for over €25 is definitely not enough. The second time we ate winter schnitzel, all the side dishes were cold and they weren't warmed up at all. Instead of a knuckle, a knuckle casserole was delivered but was promptly replaced Of course with a longer waiting time. We won't be making another attempt. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is no longer right here! It can't compensate for the beautiful brewery ambience Another negative thing we noticed was that the dining room was very cold, some were sitting at the dining table with jackets on 🥴

New chef?? We've really enjoyed going here so far, the knuckles here were some of the best so far. Unfortunately the menu has been changed, which is actually not a bad thing. Nowadays the knuckles only come with a roll - previously mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. The accompanying mustard was forgotten... Ordered both as a side dish. However, both the knuckle and the puree deteriorated and the sauce was very salty. Even though there wasn't much going on, we had to wait 50 minutes for the food. Therefore only 3 stars for everything

I actually used to enjoy coming here, but now the price-performance ratio for the food is simply no longer right. 25 euros for a salad with goat's cheese, the sauces for the main courses were too watery, an Obatzter that passed for Spundekäs and was very poor for the amount of bread served. During our last visit, the men's toilet smelled so much like urine that it was difficult to bear. Too bad...

Super. Everything was perfect, portions were generous, that's how I like it. And if you can't manage something, you can take it home with you. The staff was very friendly and always asked if everything was OK. Reservations are definitely advantageous on weekends and such. But only possible indoors due to weather. Unfortunately the food and service has gotten worse over the years. The otherwise delicious fried potatoes were cold and soggy, the mushroom sauce was bland and the schnitzel was so-so. The salad was very crunchy in the teeth. It was also strange to ask whether two hours would be enough for us to eat. We used to like to go to Lahnstein to enjoy the good brewery cuisine here. It's a shame they don't exist anymore. Conclusion: The quality has dropped, the quantity of food is smaller, the service is slow, but the prices have risen sharply. We will definitely not recommend them, but rather advise against a visit.-

Really good German cuisine. I had the slaughter platter with fried liver sausage, black pudding and corrugated meat, with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. The sauerkraut was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The sausages were extremely tasty. The portions are large, so even a strong man will be full. There was also a 0.5l light beer which was also very tasty. The food and drinks came to the table quickly. The service was great and very friendly. The price-performance ratio is right. You could also pay €2 to €3 more for the meal and it would still be completely fine. I can clearly recommend this restaurant.

Maximilian's Brauwiesen is a large and typically furnished brewery and is also suitable for larger celebrations. The outdoor area is particularly nice to sit in, especially in summer. The food is home-style and tastes good. The house beers are particularly recommended. In summer you can also rent beach volleyball courts in the extensive outdoor area. With the food and the home-brewed beer, the perfect day.

There were 30 people there last night. Ambiance, food all good. Then I had to go to the toilet. The smell was absolutely disgusting and unbearable. A pee trough is absolutely outdated and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Personally, I'm used to a lot of things when it comes to smells at work. This is not possible at all in a restaurant business. That's what every one of us who was there said. Something should be done urgently.

It looks very nice and quaint there, but it is loud and the only way to have a conversation is to shout at each other across the table. The beer is great and something different, but the food is average. Just the usual brewery stuff in the usual quality. The service is nice. Toilets weren't that convincing.

Unfortunately not recommended! We used to come here a lot (before Corona), but at some point things got worse (quality, service) so that we stopped going at all. Now I was asked by friends if I would like to go with them and I thought: that was so long ago, I'll give them another chance - and that's why I went with complete openness and as if I were there for the first time. Unfortunately, I was confirmed in my previous experiences. The service was friendly, but not good (probably due to insufficient staff). Although the brewery wasn't packed, we were served very slowly. We had already been sitting at our table for 20 minutes to take the first drink order, and it had been 35 minutes before the first drinks arrived. Unfortunately I had to give the beer back after 2 sips. I benevolently blamed the almost disgusting taste on a defective dishwasher, but in the worst case scenario it is due to the "art of brewing" itself. At least it was replaced with a special one without any problems, and I lost the desire for beer. The only bright spot of the evening was actually the appetizer. The pumpkin soup was very tasty, and the bread roll that came with it was really fresh and crunchy, like it came from a bakery. Top. The main course (stock pan) used to be my favorite dish. Unfortunately I could only eat half of it. The meat was actually ok and well cooked. Unfortunately, there was little taste in it. The side dishes were a disaster (everything was soggy, the "fried" potatoes were more like a warm potato salad). When one of us accompanied us, the vegetables were still rock hard and the food had to go back to the kitchen. At least it was remade again without any problems, but by the time the new food arrived everyone else had already finished eating. In addition, in the last half hour a very unpleasant, almost repulsive smell has spread in the guest room, in the best case (but no less worrying) from the industrial dishwasher, but perhaps also from some drains... Even though I set different (lower) standards for a brewery like this than for other restaurants, I unfortunately have to give it a bad rating - even these lower standards don't live up to it. Only the location is super beautiful, and of course a great destination for travellers, hikers and cyclists, especially in summer. One can only hope that everything is being worked on here in the future: service, beer, quality, taste, demands on oneself. The only point that was earned here came from the starter. In 3-4 years I might be ready to try again.

Great local! It makes sense if you make a reservation, otherwise it can be difficult to get a table. Despite the crowded restaurant, the servive is on his toes and always friendly. The food tastes excellent. In summer the huge beer garden beckons. Simply beautiful here. Zz recommend is everything.

This restaurant is a gem near Koblenz, with a charming rustic atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the first moment. We visit Maximilians Brauwiese regularly with friends or family, usually in a group of around six people. So far we have always been very happy with the food, the ambience and the overall cozy experience that this restaurant offers. The food in particular was always of good quality, and the ambience always contributes to a successful evening. Unfortunately, on our last visit we noticed that the service had deteriorated significantly. There were several mix-ups with the drink orders, and there were also ambiguities with the food order, which marred the process a little. The staff was friendly, but lacked the usual professionalism. Another thing that disappointed us on our last visit was the placement of our group. Although we had reserved early, we were only offered a table in the through-traffic area. This meant that we could hardly have a quiet conversation because of the constant movement of guests and staff. Unfortunately, for a group meeting for a relaxed dinner (at 5pm), this wasn't ideal and significantly detracted from the overall experience. We particularly regret the fact that the large pan that we often ordered as a group is no longer on the menu. This pan was a special highlight for us and a real event that always made eating together as a group special. We understand that the pan may not have been the best value for money, but rather than eliminating it entirely, adjustments - such as removing meatloaf and meatballs or increasing the price - would have made more sense to us. The attached picture shows the pan in its old and full glory. The in-house, home-brewed beer, on the other hand, was excellent as always and rounded off the evening's taste, even if the rest of the experience couldn't quite keep up this time. Overall, Maximilians Brauwiese remains a good restaurant with a nice atmosphere, but we hope that the service will return to previous levels and perhaps the pan or a similar option will be offered again for groups. Therefore unfortunately only 4 stars at the moment.

Wir waren gestern Abend (Samstag 28.9.) im Maximilians. Glücklicherweise hatten wir reserviert - mussten aber trotzdem fast 10 Minuten bevor wir zum Tisch geführt wurden. Der Service war sehr freundlich, aber durch die große Anzahl an Gästen hoffnungslos überfordert. Auf unsere Getränke mussten wir über 20 Minuten warten und auf unser Essen fast 2 Stunden. Dem Paar am Nachbartisch ging es genauso. Auf unsere Beschwerden konnte die Servicekraft sich nur entschuldigen - kein Entgegenkommen in Form eines Getränks / Preisnachlass oder ähnliches. Wenn Ihr ein Problem mit der Personalverfügbarkeit habt, dürft Ihr nicht mehr auf volle Auslastung gehen. 2 Stunden aufs Essen warten und dann 23 Euro für ein Braumeisterschnitzel - das passt nicht Wir waren das letzte Mal da.

The beer garden is great, beautifully located near Father Rhine. The service is mostly friendly and quick. The drinks ok. Both of our meals were oversalted and only lukewarm. A little röggel for the goulash soup, quite small, hard and definitely from the day before. The dishes are too expensive for a “Brauhaus”. The house is only geared towards attracting customers, and anyone who hasn't made a reservation will hardly find space. It was much better a few years ago. I don't go there voluntarily anymore.

Where do I start... The location is and remains great. But that was it. Unfortunately, since you can't give 0 stars here, I'll give it less than 1 star. I had reserved a table for 7 people, we also got a table at the reserved time, but with only 6 seats. Well, adding a chair was something you could live with, even if it was tight. It took a while before we could order drinks, then after a while the first drink arrived. Another 4 came again some time later. At our suggestion, the last two drinks came. Disaster! The food tasted like this, everything tasted like frozen food and was bland. When the table was cleared, things fell onto my lap several times, but there was never an apology. At home we were all rewarded with diarrhea (we had the same dish). Was a dream. Conclusion: Definitely never again. Even if the location is really nice and the restaurant used to be really good - it obviously isn't anymore. The service was nothing, the food was nothing, only the cost was something.

Service is overwhelmed to snippy, Food better than canteen, Unfortunately, you often go in vain without a table reservation and are turned away cold, which is very inflexible despite free tables and is outdated after the Corona pandemic. Great place, big, spacious and lively. Very tasty light beer. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service was friendly, but two things (1x drinks and 1x food) were forgotten, so one point was deducted.

The dishes are typical of the brewery and tasted good, but there is still room for improvement in terms of taste. We found the price for a predominantly green salad with a slice of goat cheese for €25 to be much too high. Sauerkraut and puree could have been hotter.

Very nice and rustic brewery with a large selection of food and drinks. Unfortunately, the service tried to remember everything instead of writing it down, and it worked, except for one meal. The schnitzel is a standard schnitzel, not a nice pannade, not a highlight in terms of taste, there is room for improvement here. The rest of the food was good. The restaurant is recommended for the ambience alone. Table reservation is better, it is always well attended. The beer garden is wonderful.

Die Zeiten in denen man bei gutem Wetter mal beim Radeln am Biergarten spontan halt macht und sich erfrischen möchte, sind leider vorbei. Hier muss man sich erst anmelden oder besser noch vorab reservieren, dann wird man auch irgendwann ‚geseatet‘. Und von den Tischen war noch nicht einmal die Hälfte belegt. Dafür haben wir aber 2 Stunden Zeit auf der Tischkarte bekommen > ist ja schon mal was 😉. Wirklich gut war aber die Bedienung, welche durch Ihre Professionalität und Freundlichkeit eine schlechtere Bewertung verhindert hat.

Top service despite the full restaurant. Good food and delicious beer. Prices are reasonable. We spent a lovely evening here and would love to come back again. The path from the RV parking space can be reached on foot, but you should take a flashlight with you in the evening.

The Maximilian Baruwiesen offers a great culinary experience. Not only is the food super tasty, but the portions are also generous, which makes the price-performance ratio perfect. The spacious beer garden is particularly pleasant, where you can sit outside in a relaxed atmosphere. The service is also extremely friendly and both drinks and food are served very quickly. The place is definitely highly recommended, especially for those who appreciate good food and a cozy environment! Only the chairs are a bit uncomfortable in the long run without cushions.

Guests are not welcome in this restaurant unless they have made a reservation in advance. Four of us spontaneously went there yesterday and were harshly asked by a female “guard” not to sit outside, for heaven’s sake, because everything was supposedly occupied! (At around 7 p.m. there were at least 40 seats unoccupied!?) Instead we could have graciously sat down indoors in what felt like 35 degrees of summer heat!! This “guardian” didn’t even bother to look closely at your reservation schedule to look for alternatives! In this restaurant it is not the guest who is the “king” but rather the obvious nuisance factor! The store is apparently doing so well that they allow themselves to do it! …still ! How long will we be!? It's unbelievable what you have to offer as a guest in certain locations today! Conclusion: we won't go there again - and the owners and employees would be happy to undergo training and question their concept self-critically! Hospitality is different...!

We have enjoyed coming here for over 12 years, often with larger groups. The food was great, the prices were quite high but the rest was good. The service has always been impeccable. However, the newly introduced "2 hour reservation" is not conducive to the mood. So we waited a good hour for our food in the afternoon (not the main meal time) and after another hour we were very rudely informed that our time was up. And that even though our table was still making good sales. After a discussion we were able to extend the time by 30 minutes, but were no longer served. It's a shame that efficiency now takes precedence over service here too. Now we're looking for a new restaurant.

Rustic atmosphere, as you would expect in a brewery... Children's play area was also good... Food was disappointing in terms of quality and quantity...

First of all: My original rating was very good, I am now correcting it based on the last 2-3 visits. The ambience here is very nice, the interior exudes pure brewery flair, but is still very modern and the beer garden with a view of the Rhine is just as fantastic. The food tasted good, but it had gone down a bit, the fries were unsalted and tasted of very little, the mayonnaise I ordered didn't come when I asked again, but of course it was charged in full even after I mentioned it before paying. The house beer tastes very good and you won't go home thirsty. Unfortunately, the service decreased enormously, we waited a little over 5 minutes until someone came to give us a table, then the wrong drinks came, then another waitress rushed us the food and then we were ignored for 1 hour . When we wanted to pay, we were then asked to think again about whether we should. but she still wanted to drink something and wanted to leave again. Only when I made it clear again that we really wanted to go did she get the bill. In summer you should definitely make a reservation here and ideally come on foot, as the parking space quickly becomes tight. Overall, the prices have risen sharply, but the service has deteriorated and we simply won't go here again in the summer. The food is good, the ambience too, but if I spend half the evening trying to draw attention to myself, I'll lose the fun and then I can save myself the not exactly cheap visit here. It's a shame, but if you only want to stop here for 1 or 2 cold drinks, you're still in good hands!

The fact that you don't have to pay an entrance fee made me positive, but the fact that you are labeled as a second class person when you just want something to drink surprised me a lot. You have to sit in the corner, not at a table, behave cruelly. I feel humiliated.

Great place on the banks of the Rhine and delicious food!

We ended up here on the recommendation of the lock master. Very nice restaurant. The currywurst 👍I'm not usually a fan of the white bratwurst, but this one was very tasty.

A really nice, cozy restaurant that offers a really large outdoor area as well as an indoor area. Great ambience, enough space, children's play area outside the bar, nice staff and really good food. I would definitely recommend a reservation. The dishes are prepared with love, vegetables, salad, mushrooms were fresh. Not quite as cheap (specially ordered side dishes), but I think there is something for everyone on the menu.

We weren't happy with the food. For the Jägerschnitzel, the mushrooms were canned and chopped into small pieces. The sauce that came with it was a ready-made sauce. The dessert (sweet) was with passion fruit. The ice cream had a vanilla ice cream ball, cream and at the bottom half a teaspoon of passion fruit in liquid form. Served in a small glass for an incredible 4.50 euros. We felt completely ripped off and after many visits, we won't be going back. We don't think the prices are justified for the quality.

We always really enjoyed going to Maximilians. But recently it has slowed down a lot. Which I personally find very sad. Some dishes have been removed from the menu. Why? Very, very sad ☹️ . Quark and herb dip is no longer available, but there is some dip based on ketchup. Not recommended. It's a shame ☹️

You can do it. But you don't have to. The service is very attentive but very forgetful. Empty glasses are not cleared away; if you want to order new drinks, it takes forever for someone to come. Then my neighbor is handed his food over me and the service man basically held his arm right in front of my nose, over my food. Doesn't work at all. The goulash soup tastes 0815. The knuckle casserole was boring, old and bland. Unfortunately not our taste. I can't understand the rush. Then timeslots are set up in a beer garden. Goodbye socializing.

I think the brewery itself is great. The prices are fair and the beer is very good. Unfortunately, we were disappointed that, despite free tables, we couldn't sit outside or even in the rustic large hall. The next room was stuffy and didn't really have a brewery feel. The food is okay considering the large number of guests. However, I agree with some of the previous speakers: there seems to be more emphasis on transit tourism and that is completely OK. However, as a local, I prefer to take my money to a restaurant where I am not treated as just a number. But recommended as a stopover to eat beer and schnitzel without much fuss!

Last Friday we were here at Maximilian Brauwiesen with colleagues. Our table for 10 people was served all evening by an impressive and beautiful woman named Martha, who my colleagues and I were literally amazed by. For the first time, she recorded all ten drinks without writing anything down. We could have made a bet that Martha could also eat all of 10 people's food without a note. And that's what happened. She was able to remember every single meal, with all the changes, such as "without onions" or "I would like the sauce", and distribute it to the respective people without any errors. We were simply speechless. The food came quite quickly and was very tasty. And the whole brewery made a very good impression otherwise. We will definitely repeat it and can only recommend it.

Were there for the first time. It was well attended but not overcrowded! The menu has everything from light to hearty to sweet. The portions were completely ok! Price performance fits!! The service was courteous, quick and always present! There were no long waiting times! The atmosphere is rustic and has something really special about it. This is what it should look like in a brewery. We'll be back, that's for sure!!

Completely overwhelmed. The starter of the ordered dishes came before the first drinks. We waited over 2 hours before the first food came. These were also mixed with the neighboring table. The food arrived drop by drop over three quarters of an hour, even though the beer garden had emptied significantly and over half of the interior was unoccupied. When I asked the waitress, they kept saying you were next or coming straight away. The food was tasty, but not again under the circumstances.

We had a company event with over 100 participants in a great atmosphere, delicious food and, above all, great service. I would especially like to thank our waiter (a young, dark-skinned man), who made the long day seem entertaining with a lot of charm and friendliness. The rest of the team was also quick & professional! A nice place to enjoy...also when it comes to your own beer 😅

Me and my soccer team went there and it was amazing. So first we waited for 15 minutes and then we got some drinks, but the food took very long and some of my soccer team weren't happy about it... But the food tastes amazing! (You should actually try it one day!) I went to the garden and... WOW, it was so big! It even had a playground and you can even play beach volleyball! After I went to the garden and sat on a bench, I checked the toilets. (Yes, the toilets.) And it was BIG, (no, really!) And clean, of course. All I could say was that this was amazing. Go there one day. It's so good.

....unfortunately, unfortunately... our formerly favorite brewery garden... destroyed by the most customer-unfriendly organizational madness... free tables everywhere, but queuing for the pre-booked ones...., Food and drinks are delivered to you from bustling cellars in record time... ... after 1 1/2 hours the table changes for the next person by tapping the waiter's watch (!!!)... ...no, honestly... comfort is different... ...we'd rather eat comfortably in our own garden... Soooo sad!!!

Schnitzel with fries and salad were good, portions were completely ok for the price, unfortunately the friendliness of the service left a lot to be desired. Still happy again.

Offering the small schnitzel for just under 17 euros is completely overpriced, the fried potatoes are cold and burnt in places. The quality has seriously deteriorated.

Absolut nicht mehr zu empfehlen. Wir waren fast Jahrzehnte Stammgäste und haben wirklich viel Zeit und Geld da gelassen. Wir haben uns immer wohl gefühlt.. das nimmt seit einigen Jahren allerdings ab. Die Preise sind in den letzten Jahren zwischen 50&100% gestiegen. Die Schnitzel zb werden nicht selber paniert, man nimmt aber Preise als hätte man das Tier selber großgezogen. Geht woanders essen.. in jedem Imbiss gibts die selbe Qualität für die Hälfte und die Salatdeko und Kresse machts nicht besser.

Recently you have to order the side dishes for a knuckle for 9 euros extra, so that comes to almost 30 euros. Service very unfriendly this evening. The good times here are probably over too.

Great local, super nice service, finally beer that tastes good and the food is delicious. There are even free hygiene products and baby diapers in the women's toilet. Simply 10 out of 10

NEVER AGAIN. I have known the brewing meadows from day one. I have never experienced anything as bad as the service we had today. The waiter was one of the unfriendly people you can imagine. I hope that the Ohlig family can get this under control.

We cycled 50km extra today with two men and the boss didn't let us in. We would have sat down somewhere like that in a beer garden. Totally unfriendly. Let's not go there anymore.
