Ya que habíamos hecho una reserva de antemano, nos sentamos rápidamente en su cálido ambiente iluminado por velas que combinaba perfectamente tradición y encanto. Pedimos algunos platos alemanes clásicos, y todo era abundante y sabroso. El Bratwurst con espinacas y papas estaba particularmente delicioso, bien condimentado y perfectamente cocinado. The staff is quick and very nice. Continuously. Rarely experienced like this! The food was really delicious. Had Königsberger Klopse. Well done. Just right in terms of acidity. The beetroot wasn't too sour either - great! The house is impressive - but more so from the inside. According to the staff, tables and chairs, lamps, etc. are still original from the start. Nothing has been over-renovated here and the restaurant thrives on that. It's really fun to marvel at everything. Thanks!

Rustic, warm, very touristy and often reserved: actually very good signs, which were also fulfilled for us on our first visit. But from the second visit I have to say that I was annoyed by the price-performance ratio. The large portion of goulash consisted of a lot of peppers and little goulash, which overall didn't suit us.

Very rustic inn, perhaps a bit old-fashioned. Since we were a larger group, we sat upstairs in a larger room. Unfortunately this was very barren and loveless. Everything was a little more comfortable in the lower area. The food was okay, but not outstanding. The portions weren't particularly generous for a pub. The service was nice and friendly.

Very tasty Kassler. Even the Bavarian present was impressed by the sauerkraut! The staff was super friendly and really on the ball! Clear recommendation! Attention, cash payment only. However, this is pointed out directly at the beginning. Menu also available in English.

Traditional German food in a cosy setting. Went at around 7PM on a Saturday without a reservation and had no issue getting a table. Would recommend the Kreuzberger Molle.

We were actually scolded by the waitress for not having a reservation even though there were tables available. It set the tone for an unpleasant evening. Service was not good. The four of us all had different dishes. The four of us were all disappointed. I am on the search for a properly made Rolladen. I did not find it here. Tough as leather. I don't understand why. Rolladen are one of the easiest dishes to cook. The restaurant atmosphere would have been comfortable but was ruined. We won't be back.

I had dinner here with my family this evening. We had reserved a table at Gloria's in advance by telephone. Very rustic and authentic pub with very good and tasty cuisine. We received a very friendly welcome. Super nice staff both in service and in the kitchen. I invited everyone over for a schnapps. Food and dessert were great!!! My family and I had a really nice evening with you. We would love to come back!!!! You are just sugar!!!!

Io però qualche timore continuavo ad averlo, perché dei locali "tipici" di cucina locale amati dai turisti diffido quasi sempre. Beh, avevo torto, perché, malgrado il vasto numero di coperti e l'atmosfera fin troppo tradizionale, questa è tutt'altro che una trappola per gente di passaggio - anche se questa fauna, a cui il sottoscritto e la sua compagna appartengono, deve costituire la netta maggioranza degli avventori di Max und Moritz. Sta di fatto che il cibo è molto buono, il servizio ha tempi corretti e la spesa non è affatto eccessiva. Per la cronaca, noi abbiamo scelto due piatti di "vecchia cucina berlinese", il pollo alla birra e il maiale affumicato (con rispettivi contorni) e due dolci: la torta di pane con salsa al rum, che mi ha ricordato alla perfezione quella che faceva la mia nonna materna - che con la Germania nulla aveva a che fare - e un'eccellente e abbondante composta di frutti rossi. Da bere un calice di vino rosso, un'acqua e una buona birra filtrata alla spina. Totale 70 euro. Unico consueto particolare negativo: impossibile pagare con carta di credito. Non che la cosa mi disturbi sul piano ideologico - anzi: sono per il mantenimento del contante -, ma per il viaggiatore sono solo danni: o deve ricorrere al bancomat (e pagare lui la commissione alla banca che il ristoratore non gradisce) oppure portarsi dietro un sacco di banconote (rischioso). Mezzo punto di meno per questo!

Delicious traditional German dishes. This was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. We booked in advance and we are pleased we did as they were turning people away when we got there. The food was delicious and brilliant to experience proper German cuisine. There was a good selection of beers and wine too. This restaurant is cash only so make sure you take cash!!

The ambience is very nice, the food is moderate (beetroot from a jar, dried herbs in the herb curd) and the service is moderate to excessive.

Unfortunately let down by only accepting cash, luckily I had some with me (rare) - justified by trying to keep the experience authentic like they have done since 1902, that’s fine but why then are staff using electronic devices to take orders. My overall rating reduced by 1 for the lack of card acceptance but if you are ok with cash it’s a “5”. Irrespective, with cash it’s definitely worth a visit.

Had team dinner here, the waitress didn't want to take my order for beer because he wanted to sell something else. During the whole night, he was bringing bottles/beer that nobody order in order to increase our invoice. Food was ok, but service is really bad.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed by this place. First of all, they refused me a tap water, which is absolutely a no go (especially on a 75€ bill). Then, the food was far below average: the meatballs (Königsberger Klopse) were really hard, and so was the meat of the Sauerbraten. The spätzle were overcooked and full of black pepper, and the onion was barely perceivable. It is a real pity, as people were nice and the place has a lot of atmosphere. But the food was really not worth the money, and the refusal of a simple tap water is unacceptable.

Best restaurant I have ever eaten at in Berlin and one of the best dining experiences I ever had in general. The owners and the staff are absolutely wonderful and extremely professional. The place and atmosphere are top notch, classy but not pretentious, cozy but not without personality. And the food is simply the best I’ve had in town, in terms of German cuisine. I am totally going back there every single time I am in Berlin from now on. Full five stars!

Back to the past: Historic former beer hall and dance hall from 1903. Explained in the menu. Exciting! The ambience is reminiscent of that time in an almost unadulterated way. Delicious German, so-called good bourgeois cuisine. Very friendly and fast service. A timely reservation is definitely recommended.

Always call in here when we are in Berlin. Staff are always super friendly, and good local beers are on tap. Food is “typisch Deutsch”, but some dishes are really tasty. I recommend the soups particularly. And allow some time for wandering round looking at the decor.

We were there as a group that had been planned for a long time, and we actually went there repeatedly, but we probably won't be doing that again next year. It was reserved for 20-25 people, but only seated for exactly 20. The service was very friendly right from the start, even though we were the only ones in his area of ​​responsibility, we were restless and slightly overwhelmed/stressed. Some of us had pre-ordered Christmas dinner with dumplings like we were offered, but the duck with potatoes was brought to us. The sauce was also forgotten to be included with all duck orders. When this was requested, 7 people had to share a small gravy boat. It was promised to bring more, including extra dumplings, but that never happened. Unfortunately, you often sat in front of empty glasses and had to wait a long time for replenishment. Overall, the portions seem to have become quite small. €18.20 for cheese spaetzle that doesn't even fill you up... unfortunately, it's a shame.

This place, on which I had high expectations, I would never recommend to anyone again. Heavy, poor ingredients and really exaggerated prices. Never again and I hope that by reading this other people will change their minds about going there.

Were there as a company and were alone upstairs. The room is not suitable, it echoes like crazy and you can't even understand the neighbors. We were served a buffet with dry and very simple food. It lacked taste, love and simply everything red jelly with vanilla sauce was more like jam with what I don't know. The men's room upstairs is more of a dungeon and that's not to be understood as fashionable. Only the young waitress who was specially assigned to us was very nice and tried to serve the whole company.

Auf der Suche nach einem weiteren “Must have” in Berlin: eine Berliner Weiße landeten wir hier. Aus München kommend freuten wir uns über ein “Wirtshaus” mit Berliner Handschrift. Es war total voll aber nach einer mini Wartezeit bekamen wir einen super süßen Tisch in einer Nische- und ein Berliner Weiße; mit Waldmeister und Himbeersirup. Optisch super cool, geschmacklich Geschmackssache, da ziemlich süß.

Only strange thing was we never got any service after our main meal came out, no offer of another drink, dessert menu or even the bill. Great waiters, great kitchen. As we ate, the boss loudly insulted our waitress as she busied herself with the table next to us. Not only did he interrupt the other guests, but he also really disturbed us. Less than five minutes later he insulted her again. Then when I got my coat from the closet, the boss violently pushed me without a word of apology. I confronted him about it and he completely ignored me. I understand that the restaurant was busy, but this behavior is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. The table next door was also amazed at this. Never again.

I came here with colleagues. The decor and atmosphere is great. The service is lovely, friendly and welcoming. The food was also exactly what you'd expect. All done very well and huge portions. Towards the end of our time there a couple of musicians came in and started playing, felt like the evening was about to get underway!!

A rustic, long-established restaurant with home-style cuisine in the middle of Kreuzberg. First things first: The food was good overall (we were a group of 5), unfortunately my meal was a disappointment. I ordered the beef goulash. The meat was OK, but the sauce was way under-seasoned. A generous amount of salt was in order. In addition, it contained the cheapest of all canned mushrooms - for this money you can expect fresh ones, or at least ones that make it difficult to guess whether and how fresh they are. The spaetzle were definitely not fresh, but warmed up, which unfortunately was mainly reflected in the consistency. If I were Swabian, I would cause a real uproar over this spaetzle. Considering that it was "butter spaetzle", the butter wasn't tasty enough. The salad was the opposite of fresh, and lots of vinegar to disguise it didn't help. The tomatoes in it were simply inedible and remained on the plate - even though I usually put up with a lot to eat everything on the plate. The ambience is nice - rough but inviting. It's nice to take a seat and enjoy the high walls. The ambience was created solely by quite a few or very dominant groups of men who drank alcohol in a very humorless manner and kept disappearing into the toilet in groups - most likely not (just) to urinate. These groups belonged in a corner bar and ruined the otherwise great ambience. The service was warm, engaging and there was a lot of laughter. Unfortunately a little messed up. It's a shame, the store used to keep what it promised. There are much better addresses for home cooking.

Although we hadn't made a reservation, the boss was able to organize a place for 5 for us. The food wasn't cheap, but it's worth it compared to other restaurants in the area. My meat platter with pork knuckle, smoked pork, Mettwurst, potatoes, sauerkraut and red cabbage was the finest. The other dishes we ordered were also extremely good.

If you wanna try authentic German food, this is the place! The menu is big enough not to get confused, the place is woody, brown, natural. Service is friendly, sincere, and professional. On my first visit to a restaurant with Alt Berlin cuisine, I immediately felt comfortable and... at home as if I had never been anywhere else. The ambience was convincing with old Berlin charm. Above all, the courteous staff rounded off this impression. The fact that payment is only possible in cash supports this flair, even if something modern would be desirable here. Sorry, dear team of Max and Moritz. The ambience is wonderful and the service is really good. But that kind of food isn't possible. The Käsespätzle is more than mediocre for a native Swabian. The Rhenish Sauerbraten was a disaster. No, that didn't work at all. Maybe this is an experience for tourists, but food like this is lacking grade.

The ambience is absolutely brilliant. A really nice old Berlin inn. The service is attentive and very friendly. The house beer, Berliner Molle, is recommended. However, the big downer for us was the food and that's why we were there. The pork knuckle was of poor quality. Hardly any meat, lots of cartilage. The fat was gelatinous and inedible. The Kassler was extremely dry. Potatoes too hard. Unfortunately the price didn't justify the performance. Too bad.

We chose Max und Moritz for dinner based on its good ratings. Upon entering, I paused to see if we should wait to be seated or choose a table ourselves. A staff member behind the counter greeted us but didn't guide us further, so we proceeded to find a table. When we reached the large back hall, suddenly a host arrived with guests and was very surprised to see us. He started speaking to us in German, and despite us politely asking multiple times for English, he continued in German. Eventually, we were scolded for seating ourselves and sent back to the entrance to be 'properly' seated. The experience left us a bit shaken. The food was tasty but overpriced, and when paying in cash without leaving a tip, the server simply tossed our change on the table. Overall, a place with terrible service, overpriced food, and not worth the hype. There are so many great restaurants in Berlin – don’t waste your time here!

We’ve been proposed to share the table with other clients (it’s ok) and to pay only in cash when since 2021 European laws oblige any business to accept a correct payment method (fine) and we received a wheat beer when we ordered a brown one (the waiter kindly changed it), and finally the food was nice. Nice traditional german food, but probably some anecdotes made the experience a bit less nice.

We wanted typical Berlin food and here we found it. It was good, yes, but I don't think I'll repeat it. There was a waitress who spoke Spanish with an Argentine accent, who wanted to force us to leave the tip she wanted. In fact, the bill was €93 (3 people), and we put €100 and he told us with a straight face that that was it and that it was customary to leave those tips there. Since it seemed like such a low way to force someone, we left her €2 and she snorted and left with a snort. If I know, I won't even leave her the €2. Today we had dinner somewhere else with a friendlier waiter and this one we left him €6.
