Masala Rasoi in Potsdam

The food is very good. For me, the best Indian curry I've had in Potsdam so far. Unfortunately, I have to give the service two stars. People were waiting between 45 and 90 minutes for their food, despite the restaurant not being full. Additionally, we had to return incorrect orders approximately five times and reorder several times. The staff were nice about it and very apologetic. Perhaps on this evening, there was an unexpected and unplanned staffing issue, and they had to bring in family and friends to help. I do not know. The fault definitely lies with the organisation and management, who should ensure that the serving staff know what they are doing and that communication with the kitchen works properly. Also, sooner or later, we stood up several times to go wherever our food was. A manager should have visited our table at least to apologise, and also the other tables around us. Hopefully, this chaos was an isolated incident. Also, when booking a table, I would recommend specifying in the main seating area, because the secondary seating area down a few steps to the left when you enter is an echo box. Even with only 30% of the tables seated (towards the end of the evening), it was still pretty loud in there. I would contract an acoustic company to install sound-dampening materials and objects. The friendly people at the table next to us also had to wait 90 minutes for their food. They seemed to know the restaurant pretty well and really enjoyed one of the staff members serving them flaming alcoholic drinks, where the burning liquid was poured from one brandy glass into another.

On a Saturday evening, when not all the tables were occupied, the experience was unfortunately a complete disaster. We were neither greeted nor shown to a table. After we finally found one, we were ignored and not served. Waitresses came by several times to clear other tables. Menus were only two meters away, but they were never brought to us. After about 15 minutes, we left. It's a shame when you're not welcome. Never again!

Wonderful service and delicious food! We always meet there for our class reunions and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended. (Treat yourselves to an extra round of mango schnapps!)

First-class. After living in London for 20 years, you get a bit spoiled when it comes to curry. Despite searching for years for something comparable, we were always disappointed. Until now. Here, they don't "cool it down" or sweeten it, but serve it authentically. And even then, they offer the whole range from Korma to Vindaloo – so there's something for every heat level. What's more, the flavors are balanced and refined, and the ingredients, including the meat, are top-quality. We are so happy to have found this Curry House and will definitely be back again and again. Thank you!

I am usually disappointed with my 'german-indian' experience. House of India in halle was an exception. I'll add this to my very short list of recommendations. Good service, no problem getting attention. I made a special request and wasn't sure whether it was understood. The food was presented at saag chicken, but I'd ordered a jalfrezi chicken with spinach. It turned out I had got what I'd ordered, and it was *very* good. German jalfrezi tends not to be very hot at all. This wasn't *very* hot, but it had enough depth and enough heat to satisfy me. The sauce was thick and flavoursome. Really good.

Authentic Indian food – just like home! As an Indian, I'm often skeptical about eating Indian food – but this restaurant truly impressed me. The dishes taste authentic, with perfectly balanced spices and genuine attention to detail. You can immediately tell that the chef here truly understands Indian cuisine. The food was full of flavor without being overpowering. The butter chicken was creamy and spicy, the dal tadka had just the right consistency, and the fresh naan was wonderfully soft and fragrant. The chutneys and side dishes were also homemade and very delicately seasoned. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and relaxed, the service warm and attentive. You feel welcome – almost like visiting friends. For me, it was a taste of home away from home. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic Indian food!

The chili chicken is the best in all of Berlin-Brandenburg, and the thalis are also superbly prepared and taste truly heavenly. The service is very attentive and polite. We sat comfortably on the terrace at the back and were able to enjoy the meal outdoors.

We were all very satisfied with the hearty and tasty meal. The meal consisted of eight different kinds of food. Three main courses: tofu, chicken, and beef. Each had a very distinct and rich flavor. I liked the tofu most because it was super tender. Two staples: rice and a piece of fried flatbread. Two side dishes: yogurt and pickles. The last was a spicy sauce.

The food was delicious, but unfortunately, our service was only moderately friendly. We wanted to pay separately, but the waiter refused to calculate the price and, in a rather rude manner, more or less threw the bong at us so we could figure it out ourselves. We probably won't be going back here.

Last night's lamb curry was a joke. It was only by chance that five one-square-centimeter pieces of tough meat were found in the sauce. Sure, we should limit our meat consumption, but don't make me pay for something I can't get. That was awful, definitely avoid it.

Of the many Indian restaurants in Potsdam this is definitely my favorite. Food is delicious, service is very nice and do accommodate requests if possible (e.g. swapping out a dish on their thali). I'm a frequent guest and not have been disappointed so far. In summer they also have outdoor seating in the back hidden away from the busy street.

We were eager to try this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised: very friendly and attentive staff, fast service, and absolutely delicious food served on preheated plates. What we didn't manage to eat was easily packed for us. We used the terrace and will definitely try the beautifully decorated interior in the fall.

I sit down at the window. Few guests. No waiter. At some point I wave to someone through the kitchen window. Someone waves back. But nothing happens. At some point someone comes out of the kitchen. But it has other things to do. At some point I go to him at the counter. Stand in front of him and still be ignored at first. Strange. Finally, lamb curry was well seasoned, meat was a bit tough. Carelessly prepared but cheap lunch offer.

A really recommendable cozy restaurant with a beautiful garden terrace. You are always warmly welcomed by the owner and his service staff. I've eaten almost every dish and have never been disappointed. Extra requests are always accepted and implemented. Whether it's a coffee at lunchtime, a meal in the afternoon or a few cocktails in the evening. It's always cozy and has a nice atmosphere there.

The restaurant is easily accessible by public transport, nice atmosphere, good selection of food and drinks... I would happily recommend it if you want to go in a different direction...(without schnitzel and fries...)

We were in Babelsberg on November 1st, 2024 to visit the horror nights in the film studio. We wanted to go out for something to eat beforehand to start the evening comfortably. There were five of us. It started when we ordered, and the waiter seemed rather annoyed and unfriendly, turned around after two orders and simply left (so he came a total of three times to take our orders) and didn't write anything down. Personally, I wasn't really hungry and ordered a garlic bread, potato sticks and a lentil bread. For snacking, so to speak. When the other four's food was already on the table and they started to eat (everyone came 2 to 3 minutes apart) I asked for my order and then the garlic bread came with a bowl of dip that I couldn't identify I neither ordered nor ate. When we were finished I told the waiter that I didn't want my other two orders and we would be happy to pay. It happened as it had to. My lentil bread and this bowl of dip, which as I said I neither ordered nor touched, were on the bill. Not my potatoes for that. I pointed this out to the waiter and he took the bill, very annoyed. No apology or anything like that. He came back with the bill corrected in pen and it was still wrong. I then had to calculate it for him and then it really started. He got angry and told me in a very unfriendly tone what I wanted from him, he took out the lentil bread and the other thing on the bill that I complained about was the dip, which as I said I didn't order and didn't eat. I told him that I didn't order the dip and wouldn't pay for it, calculated it for him again and gave him the money for the entire bill. He crumpled up the bill and stomped away angrily. Neither a sorry nor an I'm sorry...nothing. For me it's under the sun. The others' food tasted OK, but the waiter's behavior was terrible. We will not visit this restaurant again.

It is always pleasant and enjoyable to eat here. The restaurant exudes a friendly foreignness and not only invites you to eat Indian food, but also to get to know and try out Indian culture and the friendliness of the subcontinent. Friendly staff and cleanliness round off the visit.

The food was delicious, plus the staff at this restaurant is very nice. They speak very politely to their customers. I really love this experience. A really excellent, genuine Indian restaurant that is unfortunately rarely found in our latitudes. Real Indian chefs who master their food. A large and good selection of originally prepared dishes - spicy is really spicy - and a nice, quiet courtyard in summer - it's better to make a reservation there. We'd love to come back.

Last visit was so good that I would say I haven't had better Indian food in Potsdam. But I haven't gotten through all of them yet. Food is very spicy. I'm not talking about salt or sugar. Hearty, spicy, Indian. Maybe a little too spicy for me. But that's how it has to be. Spicy food is therefore really spicy. So be careful. Top bread, top mango lassi. Never had better Indian food in Potsdam. I hope he maintains quality despite the crisis, not like others who have completely lost quality but still raise prices. In times of crisis, you have to think carefully about going to a restaurant. Disappointments are inevitable

I think the restaurant is very nice, the menu is not overloaded with a good number of dishes, the kitchen comes up with different dishes every month. We were passing through Potsdam and visited this restaurant on the way. We really liked it! Thanks to the staff and cooks 🔥
