The Mumbai Massala is a real highlight for lovers of Indian cuisine! The dishes are authentic, freshly prepared and perfectly seasoned. I was particularly impressed by the variety of dishes - from aromatic curries to delicious specialties. The service is warm and attentive, so you immediately feel at home. There is also a pleasant atmosphere that rounds off the visit. Totally recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy good Indian food!

The starters were OK. The main courses were very tasty with good portion sizes for the price. The lassis are very tasty.

Recently the management has changed! Tasted excellent Samosa and real Indian style tea!! Very receptive people, they serve really fresh, hot & tasty food. Must visit for genuine Indian taste.

In short, the food here is good, at least the main courses, the service is good too and the ambience is good too. The price is also okay for what is on offer, especially because the portion size is also right. We were here on New Year's Eve and had no problem getting a table reserved two days in advance for three people. When we arrived, the service was courteous and after we had chosen the three dishes plus starters, the food arrived quickly. Unfortunately the starters (pakora and samosa) were just ok. The breading of the pakora was a bit thick and the taste was just ok. At least the portion size of the paneer was very good and it was nicely presented. Samosa, on the other hand, was a little better but not great either. But the main courses were definitely better: good portion with LOTS of sauce! Exactly how I want it! We had the butter chicken, masala and kadhai. The best of the three was definitely the Kadhai, which was very tasty and was specially sharpened upon request (which was a good choice as the spiciness was very balanced but still quite hot). The butter chicken, on the other hand, could have been a little more buttery and a little sweeter, but overall it was still solid. The masala too. The meat in all three (Kadhai was lamb) was tender and properly cooked. Another word about the rice and naan. The former is very tasty, well cooked without being too soft and seasoned just right so that you can taste both the spices and the rice itself. Unfortunately the naan doesn't keep up and even if we make it at home, where it doesn't even come from a tandor, it's better, but overall the naan is still ok. Oh and the lassies were also delicious, the mango something we probably even had made with fresh mango according to the taste and the price was also very fair. Thanks to the fair price for the portion size as well as the service and the taste and quality of the main dishes, I would still give it 4 stars. It's good and you can definitely do it :-)

Very tasty food. Tastes very original. The Himalayan Lassi is recommended. There is also pani puri, very tasty (I've never found anything like it in Germany and I was very happy that it was available)! All in all a large selection, also a lot of vegetarian options and everything was delicious. Really recommended

Went to the restaurant with a Groupon voucher so of course a very good price/performance ratio, nice service, good draft beer. The taste of the food was very good, it was just a bit dry and there was hardly any sauce, but it was still a pleasant stay!

Ordered for delivery, the food was tasteless, absolutely no salt in any of the dishes. Butter chicken tasted of nothing, as did the tandoori chicken. If anyone knows, tandoori chicken is supposed to be dry and spiced, bell peppers and onions are okay to go with it but it’s not supposed to be wet and saucy, if I wanted to order a chicken curry then I would have ordered one. The only thing that was a little edible was the seekh kebab and the daal “suppe” The order was missing parts of items, the mint sauce, the condiments for the pav bhaji, and the naan was obviously stale and hard like crackers. Please don’t believe the good reviews for this restaurant. The food is absolutely terrible, you can save your money and get better quality food anywhere else. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

I spontaneously had dinner here with my girlfriend early on Thursday evening. Even without a reservation we got a nice seat and the service was polite and quick. The menu is not overloaded and yet rich enough to be a wonderful topic of conversation when choosing. The prices are reasonable as far as meals are concerned and they are quite filling. I thought the mango juice was a bit overpriced. The clean toilets and the not too loud music are pleasant. The gentleman at the counter was very happy to say goodbye when we told him it tasted good. If you eat here later in the evening, I think a reservation would make sense.

In terms of food, it's an average Indian restaurant. We went there because there are some dishes on the menu that are not available at every Indian restaurant in DD (Gol Gappas, Pav Bhaji and Aloo Paratha) Unfortunately, the Gol Gappas were old and no longer crispy and the Aloo Paratha had very little filling and was rather small for the price. The Pav Bhaji was well seasoned but unfortunately the bread was regular white bread. The sambar was really good! (Unfortunately there is no idli or dosa.) The service is friendly and relatively quick. All in all, you can't go wrong here, but you don't have to go there either.

The food was delicious and flavourful and the service from Mr Kripal was noteworthy 😁

We visited Mumbai Masala as a family today and really enjoyed the delicious food and drinks at dinner time. The atmosphere is refreshing, with Indian background music and traditional decorations. If you are looking for an authentic dining experience in Dresden Neustadt, we recommend this lovely Indian restaurant to make your belly happy and your soul satisfied. Enjoy your visit!

The shop is great, nice hosts, super fresh food... the brasen in the restaurant was a bit stupid but the overall impression is great.. We'll be back!

Good Indian, but nothing exceptional. The chai tea was very good, but other than that I would say the food was pretty normal like any other Indian, but still good. The restaurant is decorated in a typically Indian style and smells nice of incense sticks. The toilets really stink of sweat or something similar... I didn't like that. Overall, if you want to eat cheaply, you can do that because that's possible here.

Very tasty food, clear menu that doesn't overwhelm but still offers a lot of variety, pleasantly open atmosphere and extremely attentive and courteous service! There is also a large selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. The mixed pakora plate is recommended. :) We wanted to try out the new store and returned home with an extremely positive experience. Gladly again!

Not place to be so stay away because just found it’s not the place anymore what it was known & also made me confused that outside it’s Mumbai Masala & why it’s still advertising inside as a Masala ? In the best location of Dresden Neustadt, you can try out culinary flavors here. A mango lassi soothes the unfamiliar throat with fiery food. Everything was great!!!

Maybe I was unlucky, but the chicken curry really wasn't good. The sauce was thin and quite bland. And the rice unsalted and also unseasoned. Just like I know Indian food from the freezer in the supermarket :-( I remember eating better food here :-/

Ordered Kadhai paneer from this place on 16th March. The taste was bland. I am Indian and I know the dish was definitely not kadhai paneer or any other paneer dish which might been sent by mistake. I had ordered a lot of times from this place before and every time I admired the taste. But this time it was so bad that I don't think I am gonna ever order from this place. Edit: the restaurant sent us the dish again and this time the taste was way better. So I am giving it normal stars.

We have been there about 5-6 times so far (as it is little too far from our home), but we consistently have had good food. The praise showered herein might make it seem like a paid review (while its not, sadly... ;) :( ), but it is only with the strong belief that good people need to get enough appreciation when it is due! In the covid times, the ownership has changed apparently.... But I am glad that the food quality and taste is still as good as before, we tried the food under the new management for the very first time this weekend. My wife likes this restaurant the most in Dresden (we prefer non-spicy, non-oily, but at the same time non-Germanized, truly Indian tasty food, which can be challenging to get 'consistently'). Anyway, upon me asking for suggestion for a good Indo-chinese chicken dish which I have longed for too long to have in Germany, this new owner suggested Chili chicken sizzler from their Tandoor menu (the only one in the menu though, sadly.). It met my expectations fully. Just FYI, if interested, we ordered additionally Shahi Paneer, Gobi Machurian, Garlic Naan and Gulab Jamuns (little pricey imho for 3.5 Euros, but okay to go for once in while anyway, taste and quality was again quite excellent). Everything was quite fresh and tasty! Side-naans we got with every main dish were little too stiff and dry, but this might just be due to the snowy cold weather that the food had to go through post-packaging, and might not be chef's fault anyway. I think this to be the case, especially because the garlic naans packed in the aluminium foil were quite good, was not stiff or dry at all. The new owner Pradeep Singh too is as friendly, as much as the previous manager Kripal Singh. I barely know either of them, and despite being busy, there was a good sense of hospitality, friendliness which made the waiting experience less boring as we went to pick up the order. All in all, 5 stars.... As always!

Sehr sehr leckeres Essen mit gutem Preis-, Leistungsverhältnis. Auch super ist die Kennzeichnung von veganen Speisen direkt in der Karte. Die Portionsgröße ist angemessen und übrig gebliebene Speisen wurden direkt eingepackt. Das Personal wirkte für mich stellenweise etwas unsicher, war aber stets freundlich. Das Ambiente ist sehr hübsch, allerdings hatten wir teilweise ein paar Probleme tief einzuatmen, da manche Speisen stark rauchend und dampfend am Nachbartisch ankamen. Da wäre eine bessere Abzugsmöglichkeit dringend nötig, da die Gewürze sehr atemwegsreizend sind. Trotz dessen ein toller Besuch. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. 😁

Waren gestern, Freitag abend zu dritt im Marsala. 19:00 wars rappel voll, wir hatten Glück ein Tisch war noch frei. Vorspeise war eine rote Linsensuppe, sehr lecker dazu Naanbrot, hm.. ein Indischen Bier.. Hauptgang Spinat mit Käse gemischtes Gemüse und eine Grillfleischplatte die dampfend auf den Tisch kam: schmackhaft. Mir persönlich sind die Gerichte der Inder oft zu scharf und zu würzig, im Marsala wird, laut Eigentümer, moderat gewürzt, was ich bestätigen kann. Aber natürlich kann man sich auch den Gaumen mit Chilli fluten lassen... Nicht meins, da ich gern in der Nacht schlafe und nicht meinem Magen bei seiner Schwerstarbeit zuhören möchte. Mangoeis für den Nachwuchs, blieb nix für Mama übrig, was eher selten ist... Mango-Lassi für die Grossen und noch ein Aperol zum Ausklang. Perfekt! Der Laden bekommt meine Empfehlung!

Very nice selection of vegan food. My dish was very good, tasted like lots of spices at once and ‘authentic’. Staff was very polite and helpful. Only thing I didn’t like was the smoke from the Tandoori dishes which people ordered. For a short time it was hard to breathe without coughing from the spicy smoke. My clothes smelled accordingly afterwards.. I guess that’s better in the summer when the windows are open.

Ganz große Klasse. Super Essen, tolle Bedienung. Geschmacklich wie in Indien. Alles sehr authentisch. Die Vorspeisen kamen nach wenigen Minuten. Ebenfalls der Hauptgang kam schnell zu uns. Gerne wieder und nur zu empfehlen.

Ich finde, dass das Essen echt top ist! Sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war auch sehr gut und vor allem sehr freundlich. Getränke, ich habe Mango Lassi und Coconut Lassi bestellt, sind auch sehr gut! Ich bin auf jeden Fall sehr zufrieden!

Restaurante indio muy moderno y acogedor en Dresde. Como indios, estábamos muy contentos de tener finalmente nuestra auténtica comida india original aquí en Dresde. Un equipo de servicio amable y agradable que tampoco hemos experimentado aquí en Alemania, por lo que en general es el mejor restaurante indio de la ciudad. P. S., intente hacer una reserva antes de visitar este restaurante indio masala, ya que todo el tiempo siempre está bien lleno. Hacemos reserva online para asegurarnos de nuestra Mesa y ahora con reserva online recibimos nuestros asientos sin perder el tiempo. Recomiendo encarecidamente masala, la nueva casa de RajMahal, el restaurante indio más cariñoso entre la comunidad india. Mucha suerte y hasta pronto.

Ich bin überrascht über die positiven Bewertungen, besonders was den Service betrifft. Denn der war katastrophal, wir haben alle 20 Minuten nach unserer Bestellung gefragt. Das schlecht koordinierte Serviceteam schien jedes Mal von unserer Existenz überrascht zu sein. Nach einer Stunde kam nun die Vorspeise, leider die falsche. Wir sind also gegangen. Vielleicht war es eine Ausnahme. Habe jedenfalls nie einen so langsamen und vergesslichen Service erlebt.

Ein modernes Ambiente, schön serviertes und leckeres Essen. Ich habe mich, wie auf meiner Indienreise letztes Jahr gefühlt! Das Personal trotz derzeitigen Problemen mit dem Kassensystem sehr freundlich und fand schnell eine Lösung. Was die aktuelle Corona-Situation betrifft, hält sich das Personal an den Vorschriften. Am Eingang sowie vor den Toiletten steht Desinfektionsmittel, das Personal trägt Mund-Nasen-Schutz wirklich über die Nase und nicht darunter. Wir kommen sicherlich zurück! Alles gute für das Team!

The worst experience I've ever had in Indian restaurants. Unorganized staff and service, the atmosphere was unfriendly. The food itself was ok.

Food was ok (nowhere near good or great like you'd expect from a restaurant with a 4.8 rating) and service was inattentive, unfriendly and slow. Also, corona regulations were mostly ignored by the staff.

The opening hours reported on Google are not up to date. The correct opening hours are nowhere to be found, not even on the closed door. They seem to close during the day. Very disappointing.

Fix the Google hours. What a waste of time walking alk the way here to find the restaurant closed. We saw other people arriving to the place to find it closed too.

Gemütliches Restaurant mit authentischem Essen. Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Essen schmeckt wirklich unvergleichlich gut und ist zudem nicht zu teuer. Die Auswahl auf der Karte ist enorm, auch die verschiedenen Getränkeangebote passen gut zu den Essen. Leicht zu erreichen in der Dresdner Neustadt.... Beim nächsten Mal kommen wir definitiv wieder!

Super leckeres Essen und sehr freundliches Personal. Auch Sonderwünsche werden gern erfüllt. Man hat den Eindruck echtes indisches Essen zu erhalten. 1 Punkt Abzug für die Damentoilette. Es ist zwar alles sauber aber alles eher dunkel und viel mit Klebeband repariert.

Wirklich sehr gutes Essen. Der Stern Abzug ist für den unsensiblen Rauswurf, schon beim Teller abräumen (klare Ansage. Tisch frei machen, keine Nachfrage nach Bestellwünschen). Das Essen hat sehr lange gedauert. Und leere Gläser wurden trotz Getränkekartenachfrage ignoriert. Servicetechnisch hatten wir wohl einen schwarzen Samstag erwischt.

This is the best Indian Restaurant that we visited in Dresden. Very good variety of dishes, drinks, etc. The taste was very very very good. The service is very kind. We decided to reserve a table because it was Friday and we were there around 15 minutes before and anyway they let us use a table. My husband was very happy because finally, he found here a dish that he always asks for in every Indian Restaurant we visit and this time it was what he expected. The prices are also good. Very recommended! We will visit this restaurant again 100%.

Tolles Erlebnis und tolles Essen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Essen wurde sehr schnell zubereitet und schön angerichtet. Hähnchen war sehr weich und einfach nur perfekt. Immer wieder gern.

Wir hatten uns aufgrund der guten Bewertungen für dieses Restaurant entschieden. Leider wurden wir enttäuscht. Die Fleischqualität des Chicken Tikka war schlecht, im Essen fanden sich Hähnchenstücke die Löcher von einem Spieß hatten, also zuvor schon mal für ein anderes Gericht verwendet und dann für das Tikka „recycled“ wurden. Leider hat sich das auch im Geschmack und der Konsistenz wieder gespiegelt. Zur Vorspeise hatten wir ein Thali für 2. 4 verschiedene Gemüsescheiben und 1x Paneer mit der gleichen Panade frittiert, langweilig und auch nicht gerade ein Geschmackserlebnis! Lassi und Service waren gut.
