Marta in München

We were privileged to spend a truly wonderful evening in Marta's beer garden today. From the moment you arrive, you feel the warm atmosphere – you immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The service was exceptional: incredibly friendly, attentive, and super-fast. You immediately notice the passion and enthusiasm that goes into their work. The cuisine is a true highlight: authentic Italian, fresh, and full of flavor. The pizzas, in particular, are simply divine – crispy, aromatic, and topped with the finest ingredients. But the other dishes also demonstrate that true experts are at work here. We felt very comfortable from the first minute to the last and enjoyed an evening full of enjoyment. A big thank you to the entire team – we would love to come back!

Friendly and personable staff. My daughter celebrated her birthday there with her friends. Everything went perfectly. The cake was served promptly at midnight with a lovely self-sung birthday song. She was especially pleased. Everyone was thrilled with the food, and the reservation worked out. All in all, a fantastic evening.

The food was quite good but it took over an hour to get served. There was another big group that came later and got the food before us, which is quite frustrating. The waiter apologized and invited to a delicious cheesecake.

Excellent pizza (for example, parmarotti or tartufo). The pasta is also great (e.g., paccheri frutti di mare). Very friendly service and a lovely atmosphere outside on the terrace. The tiramisu is a dream. We'll be happy to come back here (we were here two evenings in a row). It's a highly recommended trattoria in Schwabing.

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The appetizer plate I received was noticeably dirty. After I pointed this out to the waiter, he took it back and brought me a new one – but it was also dirty. Receiving an inadequately cleaned plate twice in a row is, in my opinion, a clear sign of a lack of hygiene control. This should not happen in the restaurant industry. Very disappointing.

It's great that places like this keep popping up. Marta is located in a mixed-use area between shops, hotels, apartments, and other restaurants at Schwabinger Tor in Munich. It's very easy to reach by car (underground parking!) and public transport. It's one of a few restaurants (including Supernova and Italian Shot) that know how to create good, contemporary dining today. Even during the week (Monday at 7:00 p.m.), it was very busy. So, reservations are recommended. There's a small but excellent menu. The pizzas come from the wood-fired oven and are delicious. They're complemented by some modern interpretations of Italian classics. There's a slight deduction because not everything was quick and straightforward. But the staff does their best. What I don't understand is the situation at the counter. There's too much stuff lying around. When you sit at the counter, you can see it. Staff meals (or not?) shouldn't be left on the counter for more than an hour. Even a look at the sink and washing machine is a glimpse "behind the scenes," and that's when you have to make sure everything's running smoothly. Overall, 4 good stars. You can achieve 5!

We wanted to spend a pleasant evening, but unfortunately, we waited up to 30 minutes for our truffle pizza and tortellini. You could count the tortellini in the bowl because there were so few of them. It absolutely doesn't justify the price. Half of the pizza was also burnt and had very little truffle. After we ordered a tiramisu (€9 a slice), a strawberry tiramisu was brought. After we tried to pay, we had to wait another 20 minutes. The restaurant has too many tables, and the seating is uncomfortable.

You get very little salad for such a high price (1/3 of the plate with a piece of goat cheese), so you're hungry again afterward... Instead of bread, which comes free, he asked if I wanted focaccia... after that, that was included... Service is friendly, but you wait forever... and no one comes to check if everything's okay...

We discovered this Italian restaurant by chance, and it was an absolutely positive experience. Although we didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was packed, we received a friendly welcome and were assigned a seat at the bar. This turned out to be a stroke of luck, like being in a movie theater. The service was excellent, all the staff were incredibly friendly, and despite the large number of guests, everything went quickly, and the pizzas were delicious. Many thanks to the entire team.

We came to Munich for a weekend; we're from the Ruhr area. This is the BEST pizza I've ever had in Germany. A real, traditional Napoleonic pizza. Absolutely delicious. Cool atmosphere, friendly service, delicious cocktails, and totally reasonable prices. Almost perfect!

Long wait times for orders. Waiters cheat when taking cash. Scammed out of €27 when paying, which wasn't even on the bill. Some waiters are fully booked and don't know where to go... I would have preferred to go next door.

So, after today's experience, I'm a bit speechless. I'd happily give the very attentive service three stars, but everything else was an outrage. We ordered two pizzas at 7:15 PM, and we had our 3-year-old son with us. One pizza arrived cold at our table around 8:50 PM, the second pizza about 30 minutes later. Several guests waited much longer. After speaking with the wait staff, it turned out that they didn't even know (!) that the summer festival at Schwabinger Tor was taking place today. Numerous guests were very disappointed today, as revealed by conversations with the neighboring tables we were waiting for. In our opinion, the kitchen and service were completely overwhelmed, and if the owner apparently doesn't communicate what a special event it is today, then that's exactly the result. We will definitely not be coming back.

We weren't given a receipt and were cheated on the price – the amount was higher than it should have been. I will definitely not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Very tasty, everything homemade but not cheap

I've rarely experienced such unfriendly behavior. We wanted to eat pizza with nine children – nothing unusual for a restaurant – and were simply turned away. First, they said they were closed, then suddenly they weren't, but "a lot of people come from the office for lunch." So what? Open or closed? In any case, it was clear: we weren't welcome. No trace of hospitality, no effort to find a solution – just dismissive and rude. Being so heartless, especially towards children, is absolutely unacceptable. We certainly won't be back – and can't recommend it to anyone who values ​​friendly, respectful interaction.

Overall, the food was good. Unfortunately, the service was not very attentive and unfriendly.

We used to go to Marta often, even celebrating special occasions there. But what we experienced on our last visit was disappointing and disrespectful. Despite making a reservation and mentioning a baby and stroller, the table was far too small, with no room for a car seat; there was no accommodating attitude. The staff was rude and irritated. We were also charged more for drinks because the waiter thought if we invited everyone, we wouldn't notice who ordered what. Unbelievable! We've had no response to our email about this for a week now. No one is willing to take responsibility on the phone either. That's not how you treat guests, especially not long-time regulars. I wouldn't recommend simply arrogant staff anymore. There are now many proper Italian restaurants in Munich, many of which are nicer, friendlier, and more respectful, and the food is even better.

Everything looks delicious and quite nice, the service was friendly, but the food is really terrible and tastes like nothing. The olives are unripe, the fritto misto is boring, the pizzas are burnt and lack flavor in the dough or tomato sauce. I don't understand how they sell something like that. Addendum in response: Thanks, yes, we did let them know and were offered limoncello, but we politely declined.

I am very disappointed that Marta Restaurant has changed the menu from Friday to Saturday and no longer offers my favorite pizza, Putanessca. This pizza was the best because it had no cheese and simply tasted better than all the other pizzas. Very pleasant. Good food. I had the tartare as a starter and the salmon fillet as a main course. Tasty and filling. Great value for money. Our server Christian was friendly, attentive and helpful.

Aside from the fact that my Creekstone fillet yesterday was very fibrous and marbled, which shouldn't be the case, the reaction of our waiter, who was presumably the shift manager, was extremely unprofessional. Acting offended, ignoring the fact, and being off-key is unacceptable as service in an otherwise very nice restaurant. Despite ringing the bell, the food remained at the counter far too long and was served late on several occasions. I received a brusque response from the same waiter when I was being seated. All the other service staff were extremely friendly. It's a real shame the evening turned out this way.

Unfortunately, the food only gets 3 stars – great pizza, but a flop with a watery, tasteless mashed potatoes. The ambiance is visually beautiful and appealing, but the chairs and upholstery are pretty worn. Sitting outside is really great, though.

The food was excellent, nothing to complain about. The service was also very okay, but could still be improved. The people seem professional and friendly. It's also a bit casual. If you want to go out to eat with family or friends, this place is highly recommended for a quiet meal. It's a bit like Gigi's.

The Luis Trinker pizza (which I had, despite the lukewarm pun) had significantly less topping than in the online photo; even for a Neapolitan pizza, it was VERY sparingly topped. One half didn't even have actual cheese, just three and a half strips of bacon. The flavor wasn't intense; the mountain cheese was unidentifiable. The crust wasn't slightly charred, as would have been nice, but simply burnt over a large area. This was also true for 50% of all six of our pizzas. On top of that, we ordered the pizza – it's probably a bit better at home, but the pizza was completely cold when it arrived. The crust was tough, and there was no aluminum foil underneath, so it tasted very much like cardboard. All in all, this was the worst Neapolitan pizza I've ever eaten in my life; simply extremely mediocre, cold, and simply too expensive for what it offered, even for Munich. Edit: The pizza was delivered, see above. How am I supposed to contact the service team directly? Don't just post inappropriate standard replies under reviews...

We were there on a Friday evening after making a reservation. The drinks we ordered were served quickly. Then it became time-consuming. After 90 minutes, despite asking three times, we still didn't have a starter. The first two reactions to our inquiry can be described as rude. Certainly not as friendly. We were successful on the third request. 2 starters were forgotten and the third starter was served with the main course just to be on the safe side. As a consolation we received a small cheesecake with 3 spoons. The appetizers that were not served were then reflected on the bill. In summary, the service can be expanded in many areas. The quality of the food is good.

We were there for breakfast and had the granola bowl and the scrambled eggs. A 0.2L cola costs almost €5, a small cappuccino costs €4.50. Not only was everything super overpriced for far too little food/drink, we were also given the wrong order. Both the boss and the waiter were overwhelmed, behaved unprofessionally towards each other and we didn't really feel welcome/understood as guests. The ambience is nice in itself, but overall absolutely no recommendation!

Five stars are almost not enough! The Marta Trattoria in Munich is simply amazing! The food is absolutely top – fresh, authentic, creative and prepared with a lot of love. Every dish was a hit! Added to this is the really cool location – modern, stylish, but at the same time super cozy. The ambience? Unbeatable! You immediately feel at home, the team is warm, attentive and relaxed - simply a place to enjoy, relax and arrive. For me one of the best Italians in all of Munich. I'll definitely be back!

I visited this restaurant twice this week. The first time, we enjoyed a lovely lunch with excellent service. However, our second visit for an Easter dinner was less satisfying in terms of transparency. After finishing our meal, my boyfriend and I requested the bill. Instead of providing a printed receipt, the waitress brought over the card reader with an amount already displayed on the screen: €63.25. We proceeded to pay, but as we were leaving, my boyfriend mentioned that the amount seemed off. We double-checked the prices on the menu and confirmed that the total should have been lower. We returned to the restaurant to request a receipt, which had not been offered to us initially. To our surprise, we discovered that a tip had been added without our knowledge or consent. While we appreciated the waitress’s friendliness, the service had been inconsistent — for example, we were served warm beer without glasses and cold pasta. We had no issue tipping during our first visit, when the service was exceptional and the waiter respectfully asked if and how much we wished to tip. That level of transparency is what we consider fair. **We actually went back and explained to her why we thought what she did wasn’t okay. She acknowledged it and even offered to return our tip. She claimed that when they ask if everything is okay and you answer “yes,” they automatically add a 10% tip (which we know isn’t true, since we’ve been to that restaurant before). We didn’t accept the refund because it’s not about the money, it’s about getting transparent and honest service.

We had a great evening! The greeting - from the gentleman in the hat - was very warm and friendly. Our dog was also warmly welcomed and given fresh water straight away. The service was very friendly and attentive! The food was super delicious! The pizza dough and tomato sauce taste just like in Italy. The osso bucco was super tender and authentically Italian. Interior and ambience absolutely great. We are really excited and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. We wish you much success and hope that you continue to be so friendly and warm.

We had been in Munich for 10 days and this was by far the best food and service, the young man making the pizza was great.

The furnishings and ambience are really nice and have a certain fancy factor. Unfortunately, neither the ambience nor the location (a bit out of the way for Munich standards) justify the price. I find both the dishes and the drinks a bit too expensive. Our food came very quickly, but we also had an early slot at 6 p.m., later the restaurant was significantly full and we certainly have to accept longer waiting times. The food itself was good, not outstanding or extraordinary, but tasty. I would have liked less ice and more drink in the drinks.

The food is quite good, but the service gets worse with each visit. Last time, the waiter with the tattoos still ignored us 15 minutes after we arrived. When we actively asked if he could clear the table of previous guests' leftovers, he did so, but then didn't ask if we wanted to order. We left. It's a shame, but this restaurant won't be an option for us in the future.

The food has deteriorated a lot. In every way. Risotto with mushrooms, a disaster. Dish with mussels as well. I was deeply shocked by what I saw in the women's toilet. Placing a holy picture of Mary or (Saint Martha) in the toilet is probably the most disrespectful thing I haven't seen anywhere in a long time! Shame on you! As an Italian restaurant in a Catholic country! Just sad. We will never come here again!

I’ve known Marta for years, but every time I go back, it gets more expensive while the quality keeps declining. Cheap ingredients, €18 for a pizza, and €10 for a small dessert? That’s just not justifiable. I’m really disappointed. The atmosphere is still nice, but for these prices, the food should be much better. Definitely not worth it anymore!

Food: Focaccia rosemary very tasty and homemade bread Tartare Di Salmone: nicely prepared but unfortunately no taste, too much ricotta cream, salmon tartare not marinated, lime not tasty, no pepper or salt and that for €21 is a disgrace! Linguine Carbonara: sufficient quantity, bacon very tasty, very dry, unfortunately no runny egg yolk was found as it should be!! We were at Marta for the second time - four of us were there almost a year ago and we were all thrilled with the food, the service and the location. Unfortunately, this week's visit left us very disappointed: I originally had seven noodles on my plate, while the table next to us ordered the same dish and got a normal portion. After we tried for a long time to catch someone from the service staff to ask about the parmesan, a small touch of parmesan was sprinkled over our plates with a teaspoon and the parmesan was then taken away again... unfortunately we didn't catch anyone from the staff to ask for parmesan again and were quite disappointed. Above all, I wasn't really full, which really shouldn't happen for the price. The only compensation: the tiramisu was very tasty.

Last week the two of us went to MARTA for the first time. The ambience is attractive and stylish, and the service staff was friendly, attentive and exceptionally quick. Unfortunately the food didn't convince us. The pizza was served burnt and the starters - vitello tonnato and rice balls - sounded interesting but were disappointing in taste. In addition, many dishes contained truffles, which increased the price but could not compensate for the poor quality of the basic ingredients and consistency. Overall, MARTA offers a nice ambience, but in terms of taste, the experience fell short of expectations. We found the price-performance ratio to be unbalanced, which is why we are not planning another visit.

We were here for the first time today and our expectations were exceeded. The restaurant has a great location and a wonderful ambience. The food was first class and we were served kindly and courteously by Nick. It's definitely not the last time we've been there and we can only recommend the restaurant!

Very tasty truffle pasta. The portion was also more than adequate. The taste of the lasagne was excellent, but not enough for one person. The drinks and wine were excellent. Unfortunately, the entrance door couldn't be closed completely, so it was constantly cold and uncomfortable. It takes some getting used to due to the very open design of the restaurant: If you wash your hands after using the toilet, you can see the kitchen and the preparation of the food in the mirror.

The store is beautifully and stylishly decorated and the service is attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the food was a disappointment. All dishes tasted okay, but by no means excellent. The lasagne was almost burnt, it shouldn't be served like that. The prices are definitely too high for what is on offer. Unfortunately for us it will remain this visit.

LOVED this spot for brunch and will definitely come back for brunch again and for dinner to try out!!! The staff was beyond respectful, understanding and nice. The food was delicious (must try is their avo toast with poached eggs). The bread from Julius Branntner was amazing (I honestly would come there only bc they serve it). Unfortunately no... the plates had barely been cleared and the last bite hadn't even been chewed before the menu for dessert was placed on the table. At 7:52 p.m. we were told that the table was reserved for 8 p.m., 4 minutes later we were warned again. The store wasn't full, there were still plenty of spaces available. The couple next to us treated themselves to a bottle, so they weren't asked to leave after almost 2 hours... The food is ok, but the prices are cheeky for the value and service

Sooo, it was a nice evening with 5 people from the company. At the end the bartender gave us the bill for 280 euros and we were allowed to calculate everything ourselves. Hmmm??? Is that gastronomy? Overall the food was good but way too expensive. Each person had 1 dish. Personally, I wouldn't go to this restaurant.

Unfortunately it's getting worse and worse. Low point when you can't get a table despite having a reservation. You can tell it's System Gastro. Too few staff, poor service, no apology. This is the case with all your restaurants in Munich. Many customers in a short time.

I was a little skeptical given all the mixed reviews but I decided to go ahead and give it a try anyway. I ordered the linguine carbonara with a glass of Sauvignon blanc; sadly, it was underwhelming and just bad. The pasta came out way too hot, it was placed without a warning about the temperature and I ended up burning the top of my mouth, so now I have a small blister. But I also noticed it tasted…burnt? After it cooled down a bit, I then noticed it was also way too salty. I reluctantly ate it because I barely had much to eat all day anyway so I figured I’d down it with water after evert bite. Big mistake - I spent the entire night with a horrible stomach ache. Service was polite and quick but nothing personable at all. I left with a negative feeling that even though Marta cooks Italian food, their food is an awful misrepresentation of authentic Italian cuisine. However, I do believe this place will be an ok choice to go with a group of friends to just enjoy some drinks.

Here you can enjoy excellent Italian cuisine! Everything is fresh and homemade, the pasta, the sauces, the pizza, the desserts. Because the kitchen is open, you can watch the food being prepared. It's really a treat!

The service was wonderful and the server helped us practice our German. They are dog friendly and the server brought a bowl of water for our dog. The avo toast was delicious. The egg on top was perfect, fresh avocado and the bread was wonderfully sour. A very delicious meal. I also highly recommend the fresh squeezed orange juice. We had a nice conversation with the server when she recognized my Seattle Seahawks hat and she had gone to the game in Munich a few years ago. Wonderful place, very inviting with great food!

Last night my girlfriend and me went to the retaurant to have dinner and we had a really uncomfortable situation. The pizza was really good, all their food is tasty and really nice, but one of their old waiter treats us really bad. It first started when I told him that I couldn't speak german and that I can only speak english. He started to be really cold towards me and sweet to my gf who is german native. At first, we thought it was kind of racism, but he used some words that looked turkish. With the order, he was super nice to her but with me he almost even could look at me. I asked if he could recommend me a dish and without looking at me he answered with a bit of contempt "I don't know, order whatever". Later I was looking for the bathroom and he was resting in the bar counter and I said "excuse me". He didn't answer. I asked him a second time and then without looking at me and with a sarcastic voice he answered "yes, sir?". I asked if he could tell me where is the bathroom and still without looking at me he pointed with his finger the direction. He didn't say a word, he never looked at me. During the dinner my gf was telling me she was being uncomfortable because every time he was coming he was only talking to her in german and even trying to flirt with her, what was making her feer uncomfortable (he knew I couldn't understand nothing). The last one was when she asked if she could take the rest of the pizza home and he answered her "yes, but give me your adress and phone" also in german. This behaviour is entirely unacceptable. She got blocked and couldn't answer him because all his behaviour was inappropiate. I hope they make changes because he ruined the whole dinner.

Great location, good food and friendly staff. It is especially beautiful there in summer. My personal favorites are pasta in parmesan cheese and the eggplant casserole ✨

Came to here for a late dinner after we checked in our hotel ( Andaz Munich), we were kind of lucky to have a table as it seems very busy when we walked in( Friday 9 pm), we ordered the food and let the waiter knows that we have been travel all day and want some food asap, sure enough, we got our food in a reasonable time. We had tuna tartare for appetizers, it was unique and we like it. My partner had pizza, I had risotto for entree, both were very delicious, it’s always good to have a hot food after a long day (cold day). We didn’t try dessert as we were very tired, but highly recommended this restaurant.
