The food was very good, but the prices have increased significantly over the years; smoking shisha is a luxury these days.

We ate here today, and the food was really great. Our waiter was also very nice. But what's absolutely unacceptable is the coat service; you have to pay €2 per coat. Even if you're spending a good amount of money here, you still have to do it. That's just wrong; in any good restaurant, that's part of good service!

The music is too loud. It can be heard clearly and distinctly in the Hollywood Media Hotel.

Marooush is a fantastic Egyptian restaurant with spacious rooms and an integrated shisha bar. We were greeted at the entrance and shown to our reserved table. The entire staff was attentive and courteous. The food was simply delicious. The menu isn't very extensive, which only benefits the quality of the ingredients. After dinner, we stopped for a nightcap in the shisha bar. The staff there were also very friendly. It was a wonderful evening at Marooush. We went back on Saturday after three years, and what can I say? It's still just like the first time. Nothing has changed. Top-notch!!!

I'm speechless! Nevertheless, I'll find a few words... Not only were we neither greeted nor seated upon arrival, but the entire evening was a game of cat and mouse. Getting hold of a waiter was about as likely as winning the lottery. With our luck, after finally catching the waiter's attention, we received a fish platter that had left the kitchen about 20 minutes earlier. Naturally, the food was cold. The fact that they hadn't cleared the table to place more food on it didn't improve the situation. Incredibly poor service, subpar food, and the parting words "See you next time"... It couldn't have been worse! On a positive note, after a vehement complaint and 20 apologies, they did try to make amends. They brought two fresh pieces of fish, a black tea, and a date schnapps.

Maroush used to be a truly special place, exclusive, stylish, with beautiful music, delicious food, and great shows. Back then, not everyone was allowed in, and that's exactly what made the place special. It was a place where you could have fun and feel comfortable. Unfortunately, all that has changed dramatically. Now, anyone can come in; the crowd has changed completely; the music is boring and lacking variety, and the atmosphere isn't what it used to be. The service has also deteriorated significantly. Whether you make a reservation or drop in spontaneously, we always get the worst table, right in the back or right next to the door, just because there are two of us. That's unfair. The shisha wasn't good at all last time, with no flavor at all. Also, almost all of the employees now constantly ask for tips. One employee in particular, with short black hair and a white shirt, was really rude when my husband didn't want to leave a tip (because the service was really slow and inattentive). She looked at us with a totally annoyed expression and was visibly upset. I could barely stand it for an hour and left immediately afterward. It's a shame Maroush used to be a great place, but today it has unfortunately completely lost its old charm.

Marooush, the little Egyptian oasis in Berlin. We love Egypt and its cuisine, as well as that of its neighboring countries. If you're looking to "try it out," you're in good hands here. The many delicacies offer a culinary short trip to another world. I can only recommend everyone to try the appetizers up and down... Each one is sensational in its own right! Which should I highlight? The liver with pomegranate? The falafel? The many salads/dips? Each one is a poem in its own right!!! The main courses are in no way inferior. Here, too, everything is simply delicious! When we were here for my husband's birthday, our guests were able to witness the outstanding culinary skills. All of our guests were full of praise. It was also great, of course, that our friend Cara was able to sing a song for my husband. Thank you so much for the successful execution and surprise party for my husband. The team is very friendly, helpful, and very service-oriented; they're confident in what they do. Except for one. Unfortunately, we don't know his name (he's very tall). He struck everyone as very rude and rude. Fortunately, we've never encountered him here, and that won't stop us from coming back. Update 2023 It's always nice to stop here! The food—we mostly had various appetizers and kunafa for dessert—was delicious. Everything tasted great, and the dessert was a dream.

The only way I would describe the waitress there is Angry, angry at life and her own existence. She is extremely rude and disrespectful and seems to hate her job so much. She is the one with black hair and well, ANGRY face. I sat there for literally 20 minutes and got up and left because I am there to enjoy myself, not look at this woman with a face of an angry dog the whole time. I did not try the food or shisha or anything, I only used their internet to post this review and the internet seems to be ok

The food was delicious but very expensive. Service was slow, and even though the place was almost empty, they often forgot our drinks. We ordered Cokes once, but they never arrived, so we had to order a second one. In the end, they charged us twice for our Cokes and demanded our money. The waitress at the end was totally unfriendly...

I wouldn't recommend anyone going there. No service, unfriendly staff, they hinted at us to leave. We reserved a table by the dance floor, but unfortunately, this was changed while we were in the shop and we were given a table in the shisha area. We made it clear that we didn't want to sit there, but they said, "If you don't like it, you know the exit."

On the downside, the lighting in the lounge could be improved, as it can feel somewhat distracting. Prices are slightly on the higher side, which may not feel fully justified for what’s offered. In addition, this may not be the most suitable place for celebrating birthdays or large gatherings. Overall, it’s a stylish Arab restaurant that’s ideal for dining and relaxing with quality hookah in a vibrant yet comfortable setting—just be prepared for a somewhat premium price tag.

Restaurant - Club - Shisha Bar The food is delicious. Prices are on the higher side (we averaged €35-40 per person). Reservations are recommended. Easy to get there by public transportation.

Disappointing Visit – Never Again at Marooush We went to Marooush with a group for a bachelorette party and were sadly disappointed across the board. Despite prior reservations and clear communication, we were seated at an unsuitable table, preventing our decorations from being displayed as planned. Right from the start, Karim promised us a round of non-alcoholic drinks, first a non-alcoholic Aperol and then a non-alcoholic Hugo, "on the house," which we later charged for – €127.00 for drinks we would never have ordered without this promise. The bill took over an hour to arrive, and the staff argued loudly among themselves in front of the guests. The main courses didn't arrive until two hours later, with the flimsy excuse that we had requested them – which wasn't true. Furthermore, paid items were missing from the bill; they had apparently been canceled afterward. This not only seems unprofessional, but also dubious. The way we were treated as guests was disrespectful and dismissive. Karim's comments like "we don't need guests like that" speak for themselves, especially when you consider the bill was over €500. It's clear to us: We won't be returning to Marooush. Those who value hospitality are much better off staying at the neighboring Phoenicia. Unfortunately, 0 points are not possible.

We went there with our friends. The prices were high, and the staff weren't friendly at all. They insisted on tips, and the employee wouldn't let us leave without one.

Oriental hospitality is truly lived here. The staff was very friendly and patient with our questions. We had a starter for two, which was very good. For the main course, we had a fish and meat platter, which was also very tasty. The cocktails were generous. All in all, a very pleasant and cozy evening.

Very elegant restaurant with 2 rooms. In one you smoke the hookah, in the other room you eat delicious dishes, Moroccan cuisine. Absolutely must try I will return for the weekend when there will be a show of dancers

My husband and I wanted to go there for something to eat and because it was already pretty late I called specifically so I wouldn't have to go there for nothing. I asked if we needed to make a reservation and the man on the phone told me no, we still have places, just show up, but you have to know it's a party and there's shisha. Okay, so we went there and the bouncer at the door asked us if we had a reservation. I said no and explained to him that the man on the phone had said we could just drop in. They then spoke among themselves in Turkish and told us that there was a private event going on today and that's why we couldn't come in. We wouldn't have been upset if we only had to make a reservation, but we called ahead and they could have told us that on the phone, then we wouldn't have made all that trip and of course it was even later. I then called again and told the man on the phone that we were at the door and asked him why he hadn't told us that beforehand. He said he would come out. When he was outside he said something to the doorman. All I understood was that the doorman said "if you can get them all down" and asked who. When I called out he said no straight away. The other man went back in and I asked the doorman how that could be. He said it wasn't because of the way you look, which I didn't believe, and when I told him "of course it is" he said he didn't have to justify himself. I called back afterwards to ask the man on the phone how he could say on the phone that it was no problem without a reservation, and the doormen said something different. He said no means no, no why, and then he simply hung up. Such stress, even though we just wanted to go and relax and have something to eat, and then this lack of understanding. They should just have a policy, not one person like this and the other like that.

Despite having made a reservation we didn't get our spot - apparently there wasn't a spot reserved in our name - and we drove there for 5 hours for nothing!

We were at Maroush a few days ago and had a very bad experience. My wife was escorted to her table by a man with glasses at the entrance, who made come-on remarks and behaved disrespectfully. When I returned, the man demanded extra cash from us for a table. Very bad behavior and inappropriate for a supposedly upscale restaurant. They rip people off at the entrance with extra money and then hit on women.

I like this place. Food was very tasty. Waiters speak Arabic which was very easy in communication. Reasonable prices. Shisha is good

I hate someone ripped me off. We made a phone call and booked, and when we got to the door, the guy was rude and said he didn't have a reservation. Shame on you.

Der Geschmack der Speisen war gut. Das Ambiente war ok. Leider wirkte die Bedienung etwas überfordert. Der Tisch wurde lange Zeit nicht abgeräumt und dadurch hatten wir nicht die Gelegenheit noch was zu bestellen. Die alkoholfreien Lillets waren alles aber nicht zufriedenstellend. Es fehlten die Beeren und auch der Geschmack war nur schweppes mit Wasser. Und das für 11,50 Euro. Als wir die Bedienung auf die fehlenden Früchte ansprachen, wurde sie patzig. So darf es nicht sein. Es sei denn man möchte keine wiederkehrenden Gäste.

A great restaurant with great staff. On my first evening, a gentleman served me and recommended what to order. I had a mixed grill and a pomegranate lemonade. It was fantastic! Because it was so delicious, I went back with a friend, and we got another recommendation and really enjoyed the food! It was quiet for us because there was no belly dancing show that evening.

At the top! Located next to our hotel, we thought we would try it with my friend, for our last evening in Berlin. Very beautiful restaurant, several rooms are decorated with different colored lights, and creates an oriental magic. Great atmosphere with a pleasant oriental dancer who set the fire, and good raï, rnb music. Very good dishes, and well presented. Server at our table super nice and smiling, which I appreciated. I recommend it if you go to Berlin! Kisses from France 💋

The waiter is a really warm person. He immediately impressed us with his friendly manner and created a welcoming atmosphere. He was very accommodating and helpful. The ambience is simply wonderful and the oriental, authentic flair is so appealing. The food was truly a revelation! It was so delicious that it was true poetry to the palate. I have never had such a diverse taste experience. I would like to thank the wonderful kitchen team and the waiter for the exceptional service. Spontan ins Marooush – und direkt ins Staunen geraten. Schon beim Eintreten fühlt man sich wie in eine andere Welt versetzt: Die Einrichtung ist ein stilvoller Spagat zwischen altägyptischem Zauber und edlem Art déco – elegant, atmosphärisch und einfach besonders. Das Essen? Ein Fest für die Sinne. Jeder Teller war mit Liebe zubereitet, geschmacklich fein abgestimmt und ein echtes Erlebnis. Doch das absolute Highlight war – ohne Übertreibung – die Bedienung: das achte Weltwunder! Herzlich, zuvorkommend und zudem ein kluger Kopf, wie man ihm heutzutage in Berlin nur selten begegnet. Mit Charme, Witz und einem feinen Gespür für den Moment hat er unseren Abend zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Wir sind hingerissen – und kommen garantiert wieder. Das Marooush ist mehr als ein Restaurant – es ist eine kleine Auszeit vom Alltag!

I love the store and this has never happened to me before. I think the waitress was new and I hadn't been there for a long time and wanted to chill there again after a long time. Everything was fine until I wanted to pay. And I already gave her a tip of €45, I said. And she just makes €50 out of it without saying anything. Unfortunately I didn't take the bill with me because I thought you could trust it. I also simply tipped my colleague without asking. I think we would have given it that way, but how bold can you be? Regardless, I don't need my money but if I come again and this happens she will see

Everything went smoothly - from the reservation to the farewell. Excellent cuisine, very friendly welcome, customer-oriented service almost family-like. A few jokes were made here and there... Perfect ambience and very clean (we are in Berlin, so it deserves mention, especially regarding the sanitary facilities... ;). Culinary, human and experiential - everything was perfect. A super nice restaurant! We shared the starter platter for two and ordered two pita breads. It was completely enough and we were more than full. It was super tasty and the service was very friendly. I'd love to come back.

Beautiful ambiance. We got a table without a reservation on the weekend and spent the evening enjoying delicious food, drinks, and a very good shisha. The food was excellent (a bit expensive for a meze), and the lamb fillet with pomegranate was perfect. The dessert (kunufe) was also delicious with the tea. The shisha tasted great. As always, the highlight of the evening was the belly dancing.

The restaurant has a very bad reputation. I visited it twice when I was living in Germany, but after that I never went back because of the things I hear.

The staff is very rude. My phone was stuck between the tables for hours. They didn't help me pick up the phone. They worried me and my family. The food just smelled like old oil. The Arab dancer couldn't dance at all. The prices were too high for the service and food. I had the worst experience with Arabic food, Arabic dancing and service in a restaurant.

This store erases recessions. So here again is my honest opinion and what happened to us as a group! And if this is deleted again, reviews will come from all my friends. The cocktails are as if diluted with water. The staff was totally unfriendly except for one who was totally accommodating. I will never come here again with my friends. The shisha was a complete disaster. Prices are definitely overpriced for the service and taste. We waited an unusually long time for the menu to order. What shouldn't happen. When we pointed this out to the staff, we were given tequila mixed with water. On top of everything, there were very few people and too many staff. Until all of this is fixed, me and my friend will no longer set foot in this local. In addition, the staff still charged us for the shisha that we didn't want for their mistake.

We wanted to celebrate the birthday of a good friend together with eight people. When one of the guys called to reserve a table, they reportedly said there were no tables available - even though he mentioned that our group consisted of four women and four men. One of the girls called shortly afterwards and suddenly a reservation was possible. When we arrived we got a table in the shisha lounge. The room was significantly smaller than one would have expected from the photos. There were thick balls of dust hanging on the walls, suggesting a lack of attention to detail. But well, after all you are in Marooush and not in a gourmet atmosphere. Most of the time there was no music in the shisha lounge. She only started playing shortly before 11 p.m. In the three hours we spent there we spent €400. Nevertheless, we were asked to leave the table because our reservation had apparently expired. Despite several attempts to explain that we were one of the better guests, the evening was over. I asked the waitress to convince the manager in attendance that we wanted to stay and watched the discussion from a distance. When the waitress spoke to the (presumably) manager, he began gesturing wildly with his hands as if he were at a vegetable market on Yorckstrasse. At that moment I knew it would be a no. Conclusion: If you go to Marooush and are prepared to spend a lot of money, you are definitely in the wrong place here. The management lacks the feeling for dealing with good guests. We had actually planned to spend around €2,000 that evening. But Marooush doesn't seem to be interested in such guests - and that's clear from the way he interacts. Unfortunately, the store is a lot of pretense. I can't recommend anyone to go there if they are one of the better off guests. This place lacks the necessary culture, which cannot simply be covered up with a pompous facade.

Short and sweet I expected more from the store for people who want to leave more money, the store is not suitable for that, so if you want to have fun and spend money you should consider whether the store is right for that

the atmosphere was phenomenal its like youre walking to a disco in the rich part of cairo! People dressed like they’re going to a wedding and the music was verryy club pop made for people to dance on. They have a club part but the music was also loud in the restaurant. Personally, me and my friend saw that as an experience itself. A very fun one! But unfortunately we came too late for the belly dancing show The food was the best quality fresh arabic food ive had honestly cooked to perfection Arabic dishes with a twist. We had lamm and fish and both were delicious Service was sooo friendly the server ( a Czech) stood on our table kindly answering our questions which were a lot but he didnt seem to be bothered 🥺 The cocktails were super nice and worth the price Totally everything was worth it. Hervorragend! Die große gemischte Mezze Platte für zwei Personen ist eine kulinarische Reise durch den Orient. Alles was das Herz begehrt, auf einer Platte arrangiert. Sehr lecker. Danach hatten wir Lamm Frikadellen in einer Soße mit Oktaschoten und Reis. Sehr pikant. Und dann Knefeh, geht direkt auf die Hüften. Alles sehr lecker abgeschmeckt und sehr nett angerichtet. Zu empfehlen!

Terrific! The large mixed mezze platter for two people is a culinary journey through the Orient. Everything your heart desires, arranged on one record. Delicious. Afterwards we had lamb meatballs in a sauce with octa peppers and rice. Very spicy. And then Knefeh, goes straight to the hips. Everything was very tasty and very nicely presented. Recommended!

I used to like to go to Marooush with my ladies on weekends, until it started at the door: the bouncers became rude and disrespectful, looking down on a woman and getting dirty with their guests. I understand if you don't make a reservation You have to wait, but they work as they please, that's not possible... let's STAND outside the door in the COLD for 45 minutes and say after 45 minutes no one is coming today in...Ok accepted!!!!! We turn and we leave. Is a new group of at least 6 people coming in? He'll let them in? I'm watching because we're still standing nearby. The next group of three comes and lets them in. And we were just 3 WOMEN who didn't want a table but wanted to order a drink at the bar and dance on the dance floor. When I asked about it, he ignored me and laughed dirtyly. Tell me, is it still okay???? MARROUSH ITSELF WITH THE MUSIC, IT'S GOING VERY GOOD BUT UNTIL YOU GET IN THERE YOU HAVE TO GET PAST THE RUDE Bouncer and still be in a good mood then it works. Mittelmäßiges, vollkommen überteuertes Essen. Trockenes Brot, Fisch im Salzmantel prinzipiell nett, aber serviert viel zu trocken, das Hagelsalz im Fisch war ekelhaft. Zu Zweit 150 Euro gezahlt. Brot war trocken und ungenießbar. Netter Bauchtanz, aber viel zu laute Musik. Unterhalten war nicht möglich. Disko Feeling. Wer es mag... Wir nicht. Ein Mal, nie wieder. Die Krönung war die schnippige, weibliche Bedienung. Ich würde sagen: Beruf verfehlt. Sehr schade, eigentlich sehr schöne Location.

Great place to eat a hearthy meal and to watch belly dancing girls (its not even slightly vulgar or pornographic).The food is fantastic every time, the staff is gery friendly and atendative, the smells and aromas greet you as soon you enter and thats always a good sign.

Drink selection disappointing. Only one open wine each in red and white. Beer: Wheat and Heineken (!) Only from the bottle, but expensive. Food was good. But basically overpriced. Most of the smaller Arabic restaurants in Berlin do a lot of this just as well. Marooush is more of a see and be seen club. It is a nice and interesting location. Not likely to go out to eat.

We had an appointment today as a 35th birthday celebration. The restaurant and the shisha bar are really successful. The service was attentive and worked quite quickly, and our waiter also had a good sense of humor. 😁 The dishes arrived quickly and hot, which surprised me a little, but respect. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the Künefe because it was what I was looking forward to the most, but that's just how it's prepared here. It's not bad, but unfortunately I know it differently and therefore had different ideas. For a €14 sex on the beach, I would have expected a little more, decorations etc., especially since there was hardly any alcohol to be tasted. The shisha was good, the guys worked quickly. (Star dust is a must, please offer it in the future) All in all, a really nice restaurant with a shisha bar that is great for partying. Thank you and see you next time.

I've been a regular at Marooush for almost two years, and every time I leave the restaurant with a smile. The service is absolutely first class - the team is always friendly, warm and their good mood is simply infectious. The food? Simply fantastic! Every dish is fresh, incredibly tasty and perfectly prepared down to the smallest detail. The atmosphere at Marooush is not only inviting and stylish, but also very open and inclusive - particularly pleasing: it is an LGBT-friendly place where everyone can feel welcome. For me there is no better place to spend a nice evening. Absolute recommendation! Thank you 😘

Really great restaurant and highly recommended. Great service and super friendly. The food was excellent, the starter platter was really delicious and I would take it again straight away. As a main course you really have to mention the lamb fillet! So juicy, soft and delicious, perfectly balanced in an excellent sauce topped with cheese and fresh pomegranate seeds. Wow the food was incredibly good. The lamb was just too tender and had no smell. The meze plate was very tasty. We came with 12 people and the service was perfect. Everything came at the same time. 100% recommendation!!!

So the DJ last evening (Saturday) was such rubbish. The songs were repeated the whole time, the music didn't fit the dancing at all and I felt like I was in Lebanon. And the security who works for 5-6€ an hour and thinks he's the one and doesn't want to let us in outside even though we already have a table inside was really awesome. And 14.50 for a vodka mix that had a content of 20/80 is also really hard. Conclusion I can't recommend this store at all.

I have to be honest, the DJ you book every Saturday night is really bad. The music is rubbish, the songs just didn't fit the mood, the songs repeat themselves all the time and you can't really dance to them. I really recommend they change the DJ.
