Maro in Roding

First, the positive: There were two of us and we were seated immediately on a Saturday evening without a reservation – we were very pleasantly surprised. But that was it. We first heard about the restaurant thanks to a very impressive press article in the daily newspaper. But: The service was hopelessly overwhelmed, even though the place wasn't full. We were supposed to order without seeing a menu?!? The menu was straightforward (a DIN A4 sheet printed on one side = menu for this evening). The food was nothing more than average, on the lower end: a salad drizzled with ready-made dressing and no menu at the table, or at least no one asked for it. My steak, which was supposed to be medium, was so overcooked that you'd need good dentures to eat it. My wife's pasta dish was "killed" by cream. The ambiance was more like a restaurant in the 70s. Consequently, the value for money was not convincing (we didn't get anything to drink after dinner - no one else came.... After 35 minutes, we decided to stop the haphazard service by shouting (we never do that) to pay. We drove almost 35 kilometers just to the place - you can have the same thing anywhere - not again!

Very nice and good food, but unfortunately completely overwhelmed... If you have plenty of time, I'd go, or maybe another day.

The three of us had dinner in the evening and were also allowed to bring our dog. Food was great, service too. There is nothing negative. Gladly again.

The food was really great, the breaded schnitzels are the best in Roding, the innkeepers were very nice... would be happy to go again

Excellent food, freshly cooked! A cheerful chef! The atmosphere inside isn't so cozy. But if you order Kaiserschmarrn, it doesn't matter :) The Kaiserschmarrn was also freshly made, very fluffy, and simply delicious! The price/performance ratio is definitely right!

This evening the four of us had dinner at the MARO restaurant. It was really very very tasty. We had burgers twice, an onion roast and spare ribs. The fries that came with it were crispy and, like the main course, we enjoyed it very much. The side salad we ordered was fresh and crunchy and the dressing was also very good. For dessert we shared a Kaiserschmarrn, the best I have personally ever eaten. Freshly prepared and no ready-made dough from the bottle (you could hear the whisk from the kitchen after ordering, just like when a schnitzel was freshly beaten - so no pre-breaded frozen ready-made product!). You have to be a little patient until the food arrives, but the fresh preparation of the food is definitely more than worth it. At the end there was a liqueur or espresso on the house. We also had a good chat with the friendly innkeepers. All in all a very successful evening. We can fully recommend the MARO!

Everything was absolutely perfect! Excellent value for money. Very friendly staff. The salad dressing on the side salad is amazing.

I ordered for pickup. 6x duck with side dishes. The boss and her husband are mega nice. Communication via WhatsApp was perfect. And the food is simply delicious. Any time!

Sehr netter Chef, auch für ein persönliches Gespräch offen. Das Essen ist super und sehr elegant mit liebe angerichtet und wirklich ausgezeichnet.

Preis Leistung war wirklich in Ordnung. Portionen waren okay. Was ich schade fand das einfach für Sachen im Laden geworben wurde die dann nicht da waren. Wenn man auf ein handgeschriebenes Schild Nachspeisen schreibt die dann nicht vorhanden sind ist das schade. Service war nett aber für das das der Laden nicht mal zu einem Drittel voll war für meinen Geschmack ein wenig langsam. Aber alles im Rahmen. Würde wieder hingehen.

Das beste Essen in Roding. Immer frische Speisen mit Liebe gekocht was man auch schmeckt. Für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Änderungswünsche werden immer umgesetzt. Die Wirtsleute selbst sind einfach total herzliche Menschen die Ihre Arbeit gerne machen. Kann man nur weiter empfehlen.

Bei der Durchreise zufällig entdeckt und spontan eingekehrt. Das Restaurant liegt etwas versteckt hinter einem Durchgang, weshalb sich das Lokal in einer Ruhigen Lage befindet. Sehr gemütlicher Außenbereich. Der Service ist sehr gut, nicht so hektisch wie in manchen Restaurants sondern entspannter. Das Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet - man merkt, dass dort frisch gekocht wird und keine Fertigprodukte verwendet werden - was heute nicht mehr selbstverständlich ist. Die Portionen sind gerade richtig und bei den angebotenen Speisen ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Auch positiv hervorzuheben ist das sehr dekorative Geschirr, was ich bis dato bei Restaurants noch nicht gesehen habe. Wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind werden wir dort wieder einen Stop einlegen.
