MARKTPIRAT Heide in Heide

A very nice shop, there's just one problem: you're not served. It wasn't exactly busy today, but you still sit there for 20 minutes without anyone noticing. We left. We then got an ice cream outside from the two very annoyed ladies who didn't like the fact that you couldn't choose your ice cream right away. It was definitely different in Büsum and much, much better.

There's something for everyone on the menu. Good, fast service. The food is good and plentiful. The prices are fairly reasonable.

We had to wait a long time for our food. The hamburger was cold, and the service was overwhelmed and unfriendly.

It's never been soooo bad. Even the best of us can't get it right sometimes, but then to claim it has to be that way, that's the apple? Today we had breakfast at Marktpiraten in Heide. Marktpiraten was, until now, one of our favorite restaurants, and we've been there several times for breakfast. I used to order porridge, but it wasn't on the menu anymore, so I had a small portion of Bircher muesli with fresh fruit. The fruit costs €3.50 and consists of a few blueberries and a bunch of currants, but it was okay. I tried the muesli and immediately felt a tingling and burning sensation in my mouth. Another spoonful, and then I asked my daughter if she could try it, it just didn't taste good either. She tried it and was downright disgusted. My other daughter then smelled the muesli and said she didn't even need to try it, it smelled fermented. Bircher muesli is prepared and sits for a while, but it's not allowed to ferment. It was returned, and then they told me it was the apple's fault; it was sour. I could have granola. I politely declined, but my granddaughter had one and wasn't particularly impressed. Did it always have peanuts in it? You've done better! I still had two half rolls, so I didn't go hungry. The pancakes also came without bacon; I ordered them with banana, maple syrup, and bacon. We first got chocolate sauce, maple syrup, and fruit. The very friendly server took the plate back, and then later simply put bacon on top. Is chocolate sauce always put on top? The returned, inedible porridge was on the bill, which we only received after paying. Sorry, but that was it for now. Unfortunately!

Unfortunately, the evening was a disaster. We received a friendly welcome and were able to choose our own seats. After ordering our drinks, the waiter came back twice to ask what we had ordered. It was clearly visible that the drinks had been prepared, but they had been sitting on the counter for another 15 minutes. The waiter had more personal matters to attend to than bringing the drinks to our table. We each ordered burgers, but again, we weren't asked how we wanted the patty—that's a standard question. The burgers were dry and flavorless. The only good thing about the meal were the sweet potato fries. The table wasn't cleared after the meal either, even though two waiters walked by several times. It's a real shame that the restaurant's service and food are getting worse and worse.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a good visit. The food tasted okay, but unfortunately arrived too cold. The prices are significantly too high for what's on offer – the "homemade" lemonade in particular seemed poorly made and, at €6.50, was completely overpriced. The service was disappointing: they didn't ask if we wanted anything else to drink, nor did they take our criticism of the cold food seriously. Overall, a not a good experience – I would have expected much more for the money.

Nice restaurant in the city center with a good selection of food.

A very good meal after a long day at the Stolz department store. 🙈 The food was good, including the vegan option (at least according to the store). The price was okay, a bit more expensive, but you should treat yourself on vacation.

It's been a while since we've been to Marktpirat. I had a Hamburg, which was quite okay, but unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding. The menu doesn't clearly state that the salad is charged extra at €6.50. The staff asked me whether I wanted fries or salad, but didn't point out that it was extra. When we noticed it, we were even told that it was actually misspelled on the menu and that this had happened before. "Impossible." Then I was offered a cookie as an apology. I would have preferred pistachio, but I got marzipan. So, sorry, I'm very disappointed.

Great store, great concept 🙂 … only the service was overwhelmed, and the waiting times exceeded the normal range.

Unfortunately, I can't rate the food, because the only thing I have right now is plenty of time to write a review. The restaurant is busy, and the food looks good. However, the service is completely lacking in structure. All the servers are serving everyone in some way or another. Everyone is running around in a daze from table to table, no one has a clear overview. Give yourself a bit more structure and one or two more servers, and the place will run smoothly. I'm not feeling well at the moment. It's a shame.

The service staff was friendly. When I asked if a €6.80 organic lemonade with lukewarm ice cubes could be decorated with a little extra, like a mint leaf or something similar, they replied, "We always do it like that." It's a shame, the picture is far from the reality. Perhaps someone else will do it better soon. The ambiance doesn't match the price range.

The food, unfortunately, is nothing special. The acclaimed currywurst isn't exactly run-of-the-mill, but it's not outstanding either. The hamburger isn't fantastic, either. The prices, however, are a bit high. The value for money isn't right at all. The service was good. The ambiance wasn't exactly inviting either. The tables are so close together that no one could pass without bumping into someone. We had a much better quality meal the day before, and at a better price.

Unfortunately, you can't reserve a table by phone. You're seated next to the table, and after 10 minutes, no one comes back. Very unfriendly and unprofessional.

Great. The currywurst was perfect, and so was the burger. The only thing that's really interesting is the toilet... all the parts are missing, completely dirty, and there are flies everywhere, really not nice.

The staff was very, very friendly. The baked potato with chicken. Unfortunately, the chicken was a bit dry, as were the potatoes. The salad was a 10 out of 10 :). They also took into account that the sauces should be ordered separately, which was great. My daughter's leftovers were packed, very thoughtful. We'll be back; it used to be delicious, too. Very child-friendly.

I like the daily menu, the soups the mains are perfect and the prices are okay.

Addendum: We were there with three people two weeks ago. Conclusion: Good food isn't everything. We ordered burgers with a regular bun and they brought them with brioche buns. That's an extra €1.50 per person! When we asked, the answer was simply: Brioche is the "regular" bun, but it costs extra. When we paid, we were simply given a price, without a printed receipt. When I got home, I went through our order and realized they'd just added 9%, for whatever reason!?! Over €96 for three people, just a burger and fries, including a beer, is a lot of money... I tried to clarify the whole thing by email, but I didn't even get a reply. Perfect burgers, chic ambiance, and very friendly staff, what more could you want? *****

There were four of us dining there, and none of us were impressed with the food. The fried chicken, in particular, was very dry, and the baked potato was also dry. The burgers were okay. The prices are a bit high compared to other restaurants. The service was good.

Ordered 2 pizza togo. While we waited we got Turkish tea ☀️. We ate one that same evening and the other we heated in the oven the next day. It didn't make it any worse 🙏👌😍🤩🍕🍕. They were worth the money.

Two burgers, a salad, three drinks, €80. Sounds like a bad joke, but it's true. The burgers start at €13, and every little bit costs extra. Brioche bun? Extra fries, extra. Without question, the food was very good. But the price-performance ratio just doesn't add up anymore. We won't be coming here anymore. Not because we can't afford it. It's simply outrageous.

Wonderful service, well-stocked depending on the time of day and day of the week, but still quiet, very tasty à la carte dishes and a good selection of drinks.

The food was okay, but overpriced. A burger costs €17. Plus, I find it a bit cheeky to add over €5 for fries. Normally, they're included in the menu for €17.

We were completely satisfied...whether inside or outside, the atmosphere was perfect, and our service was fantastic; even our dog was taken care of without asking. Be sure to try the Dithmarscher Mehlknödel (flour dumplings) 🤩, it was worth it!

The food was really good and tasty. The prices were a bit high. The staff was very friendly, but they were often preoccupied with personal matters and therefore not very attentive.

Sounds good, tastes of almost nothing. I ordered a "fresh organic lemonade with ginger, mint, and lime" at the restaurant – I got a glass of water with a splash of syrup and a few slices of fresh lime. Ginger? Mint? None. I asked politely and received the answer: "If we put everything in, it's no longer a drink, but vegetables." Sorry, but if you promise three ingredients on the menu, they should at least be there – not just on paper. So, it remains a sweet, watery glass with a citrus note – but certainly not fresh organic lemonade.

We happened upon this place by chance while passing through—luckily. The food was very fresh and delicious, and the staff was very friendly and personable. If we lived closer, we'd come here more often.

We booked the Marktpirat food truck for our wedding garden party, and it was a real highlight. We had three kinds of burgers, sweet potatoes, and thick fries for our guests to choose from. Special requests, such as veggie options, were also accommodated. Everything was freshly prepared on-site, and our guests were absolutely thrilled. Rating: We'd go back anytime...highly recommended. A huge thank you to the team. You truly enhanced our celebration.

The food used to be very delicious here. But it's gone downhill considerably. Considering the price, I think it's a shame. The staff sometimes seem overwhelmed. The restaurant itself is very nice, though.

Unfortunately, the vegan products are not vegan or are served with animal products. Very questionable and should be avoided if you have intolerances or similar. Bruschetta is labeled "vegan" but served with Parmesan cheese without any warning. The same applies to pasta. Such mistakes demonstrate poor management and should be avoided.

If you're looking for a special breakfast, perhaps topped with burgers, this is the place for you. Clever creations combined with high-quality ingredients make eating here a pleasure. The atmosphere is perfect, and the service staff is relaxed and attentive. The value for money is fair; I enjoy coming here again and again, including for lunch, of course.

Ich war jetzt schon öfter im Marktpirat und jedes Mal bin ich auf neue begeistert. Die Preis Leistung ist einfach super, das Essen schmeckt mega und ist preislich wirklich top. Ausserdem ist das Bier auch sehr gut. Sehr empfehlenswert.

I can't understand the popularity of this store. The food is ok, but the prices are completely exorbitant, so it's not that good. The ambience and service are solid, but there are many better addresses in Heide.

The two of us were there last Friday to eat asparagus with fried potatoes and hollondaise sauce. At first the table wasn't wiped off and was therefore sticky, the asparagus was al dente and the sauce was watery. When the plates hadn't been put away after 30 minutes, we asked one gentleman if he could please put the plates away, and all we got was a rude yes straight away! When we were clearing the plates, we told them about the defects in the food, and he said yes, that's it! Absolutely out of place and unfriendly to customers! Absolutely overpriced at €22 for the plate.

Market Pirate Heide – absolutely recommended! Today I was able to experience a really special moment at the Pirat market in Heide. As soon as you enter you can tell that things are relaxed, warm and in a really good mood. I had an affogato to drink with – perfectly done! The espresso was strong and aromatic, the ice cream was creamy and not too sweet. Just the right mix for a little break. For dinner I decided on the pancake cake – and what can I say? An absolute blast! Every bite was a dream: airy, fresh, lovingly layered and simply delicious. A big compliment also goes to the service: (Wadim) Our waiter was super attentive, friendly and quick. You really noticed that guests are not only served here, but also warmly welcomed. In short: If you are in Heide and want really good food, fine drinks and a relaxed atmosphere, you should definitely stop by Markt Pirat. I'll definitely be back!

Hello, the Marktpirat is a great dining facility. Always up for a new idea. Whether it's drinks or food, you'll always find something delicious on the beautifully designed menu. The burgers and ribs are highly recommended. There is also a great selection for non-meat eaters. If you don't have an idea, the friendly staff will. There is always a friendly saying, the staff and the kitchen do a great job. It's better to order at the weekend, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the Marktpirat is always worth a visit and is always well attended. Bon appetit

No, I can't recommend the staff standing in front of the door and shouting at each other, which goes down very badly with customers. Something like that can be clarified in private in the office and not in front of the door where customers come in. I wasn't a guest, but I noticed it and that's enough for me and it's not enough for me to go there

Highly recommended. Whether for breakfast, a small snack or coffee in between or a warm meal in the evening. The service is super friendly and always has you in mind. It's just a shame that no tables are reserved outside. I will always be happy to come back there.

Be sure to lock the toilets, it's really an unreasonable situation where you live. Toilet is the be-all and end-all of a restaurant.

You are placed at a table and then unfortunately nothing happens for 20 minutes, no menu, no question about drinks etc., very bad service, we left again after 30 minutes without any contact.

Good-humored, attentive service staff...sitting comfortably on a comfortable sofa...the food tastes great and is appetizingly prepared...fast service, everything to our utmost satisfaction.

Here today at lunchtime: 2 people (unannounced) with a dog. We received such a warm welcome, were immediately assigned a table and a nice service employee was there straight away. Food came quickly and was excellent! What should be highlighted are the really friendly and courteous employees. Our dog was immediately offered a bowl of water, which he gratefully took. Prices are moderate. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back. Highly recommended! Thanks to the entire team.

It was our first visit to Heider Marktpiranten and we will definitely come back! The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was very friendly and attentive and the food was a dream! It's great that you have some vegetarian/vegan dishes!

“I am absolutely disappointed and extremely dissatisfied with my order! I pre-ordered food and picked it up to take away, but everything went wrong. First of all, I had to call almost six times before someone finally answered the phone to even take my order. That is extremely unprofessional! When I went to pick up the food, the employee at the checkout where I paid was very rude. She was neither friendly nor helpful and I felt like I was absolutely not welcome there as a customer. Then there's the fact that I had to pay a one-way fee of €1.50 per dish, which I find completely excessive. But that's not all: the sauces we got were completely wrong and didn't correspond to the order at all! And the absolute low point: The hamburger was a disaster - the meat was completely red inside and not cooked through at all! This is not only unprofessional, but also dangerous to your health. It could lead to salmonella or other serious illnesses! This was definitely not what I imagined. I was hoping to have a delicious and carefully prepared meal, but instead all I took home was anger, frustration and worry. I will definitely never order here again. Absolutely disappointing!”

We ordered a cocktail and received a different one. After they realized their mistake, they said it was okay to keep the other one and delivered us the original cocktail. A few minutes later they took the one initially delivered to us. I don’t care about them taking the drink away rather than knowingly disposing of it just because it was a mistake. If u make a mistake like that it is better to let the customer keep it rather than just disposing of it. It is rather disappointing to know that they immediately threw it out…

Eating there is a little celebration that is simply magical, how much effort you put into it

We were guests this evening on the occasion of a birthday; 5 people, all with different dishes. From starters to dessert, everything was there. We were served very well and attentively. Even if there was a small problem with our food, a replacement was brought to us immediately without much discussion. We can only recommend the market pirate and would be happy to come back :)

The food was, as always, excellent and the staff, as usual, courteous. 🤗 The ambience only gets 4 🌟, as the acoustics unfortunately depress the coziness a bit. But you just accept that. 🍀👍🏼

Das Restaurant liegt direkt am großen Marktplatz von Heide der auch noch ein riesiger Parkplatz ist. Das Ambiente ist zeitgemäss, die Bedienungen freundlich und in der Speisekarte findet jeder etwas. An der Kuchentheke einfach so vorbeizugehen ist schon schwer. Es lohnt sich immer dort für eine Zeit zu verweilen, eine Reservierung am Abend ist angebracht !!!

The service was nice, but could have asked a little more often if you would like something more to drink. But the young lady was also stressed and hadn't been there for too long. That's why it was completely fine. I really like the ambience in the Marktpiranten, which is beautifully modern. The food was okay-good, I think the price-performance ratio is mediocre. The breading of the schnitzel was very firm, the kale dish had a little bit of kale and the pumpkin ravioli were just not enough to fill you up, 4 pieces just aren't enough.

Many people like it here, it's not my thing. Food and drinks are too expensive for me. But everyone makes their own decision.

When we were there today I noticed that the mojito was not strong, the fat waiter who was not of German origin took out a bottle of rum and started pouring a lot into the glass and said (you like it that way) and I I didn't like it and I asked him for the bill. He told me that they didn't leave anything behind. This is not the first time I am in this restaurant and all visitors are subjected to its rudeness. I also wanted to celebrate my daughter's birthday, but unfortunately he met me and told me to go home and celebrate her birthday there (we are Ukrainians)

We only had a drink there, but we really enjoyed it. The dishes looked very tasty. All in all very appealing.
