The best foodie spot in Kreuzberg. Kreuzberg is one of Berlin's coolest neighborhoods, south of the Spree River, with its restaurants and bars. Markthalle Neun is a large covered market with food stalls like a traditional market (vegetables, meat, cheese, etc.) as well as food and drink stands. There's a wide variety of cuisines and plenty of tables to sit at (though you can never have too many, which is the only downside). It's worth coming for a meal or a snack; the atmosphere is very friendly, even if it's a bit touristy, like all food courts of this kind.

What a fantastic, atmospheric location! We were there on a Thursday evening. It was the street food night. The food was delicious. We sampled a few things from various stalls. Everything was fresh and delicious.

When in Berlin, a visit to Markthalle 9 is a must. It's a somewhat dated building, but with a wonderful atmosphere. Here you can find food from all over the world, just like the visitors. Unfortunately, it closes at 6:00 PM. If you're lucky, you might find a seat. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Berlin.

Hmm. Interesting historical place. We were here on a Monday afternoon and a Tuesday at noon (both times just by chance). We checked online to see what the place "offers." Well, the online description contradicts our impression: the winter wonderland could be more, very few visitors, and only half the stalls were open on both visits. Oh well, we'll come back in the summer; maybe it'll be more lively then.

Great place to eat lunch in Berlin! There's something for everyone, the food is excellent, beer brewed in the basement, you really don't know what to choose: all the stalls look tempting!

Markthalle Neun is always a feast for the senses. The colorful stalls, the aroma of fresh baked goods and exotic spices, the murmur of voices – it all comes together like a vibrant portrait of the city. I love exploring here, photographing details of the stalls, or jotting down ideas for new vegetarian recipes. It's fun to soak up the atmosphere without having to rush. For me, the market hall is a place brimming with inspiration and urban energy.

The usual suspects (Sironi, Mani in Pasta, Kuchen von Gaia, Heidenpeters and Schönen Trinken) are always a trip worth to the Markthalle! But recently the little Italian stand on the left changed owner and style and it doesn't feel authentic at all. We got 2 glasses of white wine (I've drank better wine for the price) and a very small vegetarian tagliere, which was served on a flimsy paper tray, with 2 tiny pieces of cold bread. For the place where we are I expected a bit more attention to the details. 😬

Always fantastic! Markthalle 9 is a beautiful building and feels like a large, relaxed food court with lots of fresh produce. A great mix of market and restaurants, and the seating is very casual. A must-see for me on every visit to Berlin.

Amazing place! For anyone interested in different cuisines or just anyone who is hungry this place is a must. So many different cuisines to choose from and it all feels very authentic and was delicious. I highly recommend it!

Markthalle Neun in Kreuzberg is a fantastic place to enjoy international street food or simply browse for delicious groceries. With over 2,800 square meters of retail space, there's definitely plenty to discover. From mochi to spaetzle, you can find practically anything here. There's also a small brewery and a stall where you can buy fresh oysters. I really love going there, and when it comes to vegetarian manti, for example, Markthalle Neun is my first stop. The historic ambiance of this old building is also great. The only downside is that it can get quite crowded in the afternoon, sometimes requiring long queues and making it difficult to find a seat. Nevertheless, Markthalle Neun is a really cool place and definitely worth exploring if you're ever visiting Berlin as a tourist.

I always find the atmosphere great… there could be more seating. Otherwise, always worth a visit on a Thursday.

Here you can still eat and experience the culture from many different stalls. What I like is that the prices aren't too high, but the quality is good. So it's definitely worth going there.

For me, this remains one of the biggest sins Kreuzberg has committed. I don't meet any of the "old guard" here, just lots of tourists. The term "market hall" doesn't fit. It's textbook gentrification. The small shops are dying out as a result, and I miss them.

Interesting place to discover new tastes

Very good place for shopping but also foodand wine tasting. Quite trendy and price. But various stalls with food from different countries as well as bakeries and butcheries gives oportunity to enjoy food and drinks. It is not super authentic, but some worth trying. Open every day except Sunday. Thursday open longer hours.

Besides the many usual stalls, there are also opportunities to buy or try things that you don't often find in such a diverse selection. My only minor criticism is that I didn't feel entirely comfortable with the atmosphere.

An incredible market with a truly impressive variety—fresh fish displayed on ice, premium cuts of beef, artisan pastries, brunch spots buzzing with energy, specialty coffee stands, and even small international kitchens tucked between the stalls. We originally came with one simple mission: grab a pastry. But as we wandered through the aisles, the smell of fresh pasta caught our attention. A small Italian stand was rolling tagliatelle by hand, right in front of us. It felt impossible to just walk past. So one thing led to another: we ordered an Aperol Spritz, found a table in the sun, and ended up staying for a full plate of homemade pasta. What was supposed to be a quick stop became a slow, delicious, unexpectedly perfect afternoon.

Really cool place to try street food on Thursdays. The highlight there is the cheese festival. It is definitely a must visit in Berlin..however, the cost has doubled from last year which made it too expensive. The place itself is big but can get super crowded. Beautiful market hall, truly! If I had something this nice here in the Ruhr area... Well... I don't. Anyway: Great market hall! You can get great groceries and great food here. Whenever I'm in Berlin, I always love coming here! But: I've never seen so many hipsters in one place before 😅🤣

Friendly environment, good food.

The place is located in a somewhat sketchy area, and getting there by public transport isn’t very pleasant. There’s a wide variety of food stalls – some unique, others quite ordinary. There’s nowhere to really sit and relax, and the noise level is quite high. Still, the atmosphere is pleasant, and it can work well for a casual dinner and a local experience.

Boring, boring. They want to be hip. Unfortunately, the food stalls are overpriced, and some of them are already closing at 5 p.m. on a Wednesday.

If you're visiting Berlin, you must visit! It's the best place to eat and see.

A very international market offering a number of succulent culinary offerings. An ideal place for a quick lunch, and not too expensive! Italian, Turkish, French... yum!

I loved this place! You can find food for all tastes and all the market looks so cute. I tried the marzipan ice cream at Rosa Canina, they have nice flavors and you can choose from different sizes. I got the smallest cup. Also, went to Mani in Pasta to try their fresh pasta made by Italians with their amazing sauces! You will not regret eating here. All prices are pretty affordable and you can eat from different stalls.

I wouldn't waste my valuable time as a tourist in Berlin in this expensive place, which is nothing different from other places, crowded, and has few services. A hamburger with ham and cheese was €16.50, plus you had to buy a drink. Unless you want to buy certain gourmet foods, I wouldn't eat here. It's hard to find a place to sit down and eat.
