We were there on Saturday and were thrilled 😃 great stalls with interesting food, flowers, plants, household goods and wines and delicious food!

Great for snacking, especially on rainy days and in groups, because there's sure to be something for everyone. However, you should be willing to try new things!

Nice market although quite small and very expensive.

It was a nice food hall, but it was a bit overpriced and had a rather hipster feel. There's even a DM supermarket in the middle of the hall. Everything is clean and hygienic.

Wonderful atmosphere and crepes

It would be a bit monotonous if it wasn't a snack day, but it's enough for a meal if you stay there regularly on weekdays.

A market that is open every Thursday, with food options from all over the world! And some places sell drinks like a glass of wine, by the glass, which I found very interesting. The place gets very busy and the highlight is this traditional German dish, a pasta dish, Spätzle, with a sauce made from aged Emmenthal cheese from local producers, served with black pepper, chives and crisp onions. DIVINE, or as the chef himself said, the best I would ever taste.

Food and pleasure temple with all kinds of delicacies... the home-brewed beer was a hit!

Great atmosphere with lots of food stalls and a brasserie

The food and beer at Markthalle Neun were truly delicious! There's a great selection of different stalls with fresh and lovingly prepared dishes. It was quite crowded, but the lively atmosphere is simply part of the experience and didn't spoil the experience. I'd love to come back :)

Very nice market hall with lots of different food.

The market hall offers many different national and international street food stalls that are sold at overpriced prices. Unfortunately, the food at the stalls was mostly a disappointment. These include in particular the Mexican taco stand (the meat was completely dry and the dough was very flimsy), the empanada stand (the empanada was too runny on the inside, the meat was not well fried) and the stand with the chili wontons (too oily and all you could taste was the flabby, soft dough). The following stalls are recommended: Tibetan dumpling stall (fried momos), the German baked pork stall and the natural wine stall. All in all, you should take a look at the market hall yourself on a Thursday afternoon.

For my age, Thursday evening was a bit hectic. The selection and quality are almost breathtaking.

Very nice market hall with good food and nice stores. I visit here quite often and my favourite stores here are the ballers (meat balls), the burger place close to the entrance, the mac n cheese van and a few more. A must visit place if you are around Kreuzberg, Berlin.

I used to think the market hall was much nicer. Worked there as a saleswoman. That was a nice time. Too bad

A successful youth mall in Korea??

Interesting food options, a bit crowded, but i was expecting that.

Great. Fun to look around, smell the smells, buy tasty fresh ingredients and enjoy delicious food.

Strongly recommend the SlowJuice booth in this markthalle. They have one of the strongest Ingwer Kurkuma shots in town. It is a good place to have lunch here, quite a few good options here.

A small market is not worth it and it is also difficult to reach

A visit here is absolutely worth it! If you are a foodie you will love this place. We had a fantastic time and stuffed our stomachs.

Extremely crowded and very overpriced

We were there for breakfast on Saturday and were not disappointed. Fresh pasta, pizza and focaccia, as well as the antipasti stand were our favorites. We'll be back, definitely.

You can come if you're passing by, but I won't feel particularly sorry if you don't come (this is the first time I've visited Berlin after five visits). There are not too many shops here, but there are many people who are very enthusiastic about trying the food or explaining to you. The price is a bit high but acceptable.

Cute place with a variety of food options. My favorite is the Turkish deli. You can get a bowl for only 10€ and a piece of bread.

Beautiful place! I would totally recommend going there with bunch of friends. Although, It can get crowded there so be prepared for wandering around in search of the table to sit at.

Market Hall 9 is always worth a visit. Everyone will find what they are looking for here. Be sure to go to the events too... that's when things really get going! 😊

Beautiful historic building with interesting market stalls

Market hall itself is very nice place. But the caretaker of the market hall is a cheeky and unfriendly person, so I'll never come back!

This historic indoor market in Berlin's Kreuzberg district offers everything from local produce to international street food. The Thursday street food market is especially popular, and there are rows of international food stalls, making it a great place to eat while walking! It has a local atmosphere and is a great place not only for tourists but also for immigrants. Since it's indoors, you can relax and enjoy your time without being affected by the weather. If you are interested in food, definitely check it out!

Very good and fresh products that are worth their price.

Como amante de la comida, vi bastantes videos de viajes antes de ir a Berlín, y Markthalle Neun apareció en casi todas las recomendaciones. Terminó siendo la primera parada de nuestro viaje después de dejar nuestro equipaje: acabábamos de llegar de Canadá y estábamos ansiosos por sumergirnos en la escena gastronómica de Berlín. Llegar allí fue un poco de una aventura en sí mismo! Afortunadamente, la aplicación BVG Fahrinfo hizo posible navegar por el sistema de transporte público, honestamente no creo que lo hubiéramos logrado sin ella. Viniendo de la estación central, tuvimos que tomar dos líneas de metro (una S - Bahn y luego una U - Bahn) , y luego caminar unos 650 metros para llegar al mercado. La transferencia entre líneas era un poco confusa, pero realizable con la aplicación. En el camino al mercado, pasamos por un montón de pequeñas tiendas que eran divertidos de navegar. Me di cuenta de inmediato de que los precios de cosas como el alcohol y los recuerdos eran notablemente más baratos, alrededor de un 40 % menos que en las principales zonas turísticas. Definitivamente vale la pena tomarse el tiempo para mirar alrededor del barrio un poco. El mercado en sí era más pequeño y tranquilo de lo esperado, especialmente desde que visitamos un lunes alrededor de la hora del almuerzo. Muchos de los videos online lo hicieron parecer mucho más grande y ocupado, pero en realidad tenía un ambiente muy relajado y local, lo que terminamos apreciando mucho. No se sentía turístico en absoluto, lo cual es raro y refrescante. Compartimos un plato de charcutería por 12 € , agarramos dos rebanadas de pizza (5 € cada una) y las partimos de tres maneras, y mis padres también consiguieron un pastel de chocolate. Todo lo que probamos era fresco, sabroso y delicioso. Los ingredientes eran claramente de alta calidad. La pizza en particular fue un punto culminante, simple pero lleno de sabor. Dicho esto, nos sorprendió la poca cantidad de vendedores de alimentos que estaban abiertos. Habíamos esperado más variedad en base a los videos que habíamos visto, así que si estás buscando un montón de opciones, podría ser mejor ir durante uno de sus eventos especiales como Street Food Thursday. En resumen, Markthalle Neun es una encantadora experiencia local. Si bien puede que no sea el mercado masivo y bullicioso que algunos videos hacen parecer, definitivamente vale la pena visitarlo, especialmente si aprecias la comida de alta calidad y hecha localmente y quieres alejarte de las principales trampas turísticas. Sin duda volvería, pero tal vez en un día más ocupado la próxima vez!

Markthalle Neun is the belly of Berlin. There is a lovingly curated selection of groceries and culinary dishes here. The offer is constantly updated and there are theme weeks. It's worth coming at different times of the day. A very inspiring place. The quality of the products is the priority and, however, has its price.

As a foodie, I watched quite a few travel videos before heading to Berlin, and Markthalle Neun came up in almost every recommendation. It ended up being the first stop on our trip after dropping off our luggage — we had just arrived from Canada and were eager to dive into Berlin’s food scene. Getting there was a bit of an adventure in itself! Thankfully, the BVG Fahrinfo app made it possible to navigate the public transit system — I honestly don’t think we would’ve made it without it. Coming from the central station, we had to take two subway lines (an S-Bahn and then a U-Bahn), and then walk about 650 meters to get to the market. The transfer between lines was a little confusing, but doable with the app. On the way to the market, we passed a bunch of little shops that were fun to browse. I noticed right away that the prices for things like alcohol and souvenirs were noticeably cheaper — around 40% less than in the main tourist areas. Definitely worth taking the time to look around the neighborhood a bit. The market itself was smaller and quieter than expected, especially since we visited on a Monday around lunchtime. A lot of the online videos made it seem much larger and busier, but it actually had a very relaxed and local vibe, which we ended up really appreciating. It didn’t feel touristy at all, which is rare and refreshing. We shared a charcuterie platter for €12, grabbed two slices of pizza (€5 each) and split them three ways, and my parents also got a chocolate pastry. Everything we tried was fresh, flavourful, and delicious. The ingredients were clearly high quality. The pizza in particular was a highlight — simple but packed with flavour. That said, we were surprised by how few food vendors were open. We had expected more variety based on the videos we’d seen, so if you're looking for tons of options, it might be better to go during one of their special events like Street Food Thursday. All in all, Markthalle Neun is a charming local experience. While it may not be the massive, bustling market some videos make it out to be, it’s definitely worth a visit — especially if you appreciate high-quality, locally made food and want to get away from the main tourist traps. Would absolutely go back, but maybe on a busier day next time!

Highly recommended. Delicious street food

Lots of choice, plenty of benches to sit and even a corner for children to play.

We were here at the Naschmarkt and I was very positively surprised. You had to pay an entrance fee for the market, which is of course not what you're used to, but the atmosphere and the selection of stands were great. Otherwise, you can get everything your heart desires here during normal opening hours, without an event. It's great for lunch, shopping or dining. Definitely worth a visit – just because of the great atmosphere!

The market hall is nice, but much smaller than expected and in comparison there are larger market halls in Berlin with a more diverse range of offerings, which in my opinion make a visit more worthwhile.

Very nice old market hall with a good selection of snacks and stalls. The currywurst at Buddy and Keule was world class. It was there again in 2025, the obligatory currywurst had to be there again. As always great.

Sort of a hidden gem, because it is hidden in a residential area. Nice concept of a market hall with different tents with different kitchens where you can get something to eat/drink and enjoy it there. but I thought it was all too pricey, so I just looked around. Located on a street with several tents where you can eat/drink something.

Food from Asia, Europe and South America, drinks, snacks, even a photobooth. Great way to taste and eat whatever you like. From oysters to Mochi icecream and everything in between. Locals and tourist mix well here. Crowded around dinner time

We went to Street Food Thursday on Thursday evening and absolutely loved it! The most delicious cheese spaetzle we have ever eaten. The mango sticky rice and the naan bread were also delicious! Prices completely ok! Pretty crowded after 6 p.m....

There were so many delicious things to eat, the price was ok. Wsr there on Saturday, full yes but also ok. On Thursdays there are even more stalls with delicious food. I thought it was great 👍😄

Not much seating and cigarette filters are everywhere because there are simply no ashtrays. Food selection is ok but expensive.

Especially recommended on Thursdays from 5 p.m. The selection is amazing, the atmosphere, even though there were so many people there, was simply relaxed. You can linger, meet new people and explore the world.

I really enjoy strolling around here, especially on Saturdays. A very aesthetically pleasing higher-priced market with high-quality regional offerings and a good selection of food and drinks for direct consumption from porcelain tableware. I love the shining honey stand 🤩

La Markthalle Neun (o Markthalle IX) è una storica struttura situata nel quartiere Kreuzberg di Berlino, precisamente in Eisenbahnstraße 42/43. Inaugurata nel 1891 su progetto dell’architetto Hermann Blankenstein, faceva parte di un piano municipale per sostituire i mercati all’aperto con spazi coperti più igienici e funzionali. Con una superficie di circa 3.300 m², ospitava inizialmente 300 banchi per la vendita di generi alimentari e altri beni di prima necessità . Dopo un periodo di declino nel XX secolo, durante il quale grandi catene di discount occuparono parte della struttura, la Markthalle Neun è stata salvata dalla demolizione nel 2011 grazie all’intervento di tre imprenditori locali. Questi ultimi l’hanno acquistata per 1,1 milioni di euro e l’hanno trasformata in un centro per la cultura alimentare sostenibile, promuovendo prodotti locali, equi e biologici . Oggi, la Markthalle Neun è un vivace mercato coperto che ospita eventi culinari e culturali. Tra gli appuntamenti più noti vi è lo “Street Food Thursday”, che si tiene ogni giovedì e offre una varietà di cibi di strada da tutto il mondo . Inoltre, la struttura organizza mercati tematici come il “Naschmarkt”, dedicato ai dolci artigianali, e il “Cheese Berlin”, focalizzato sui formaggi europei .

We were here for the Naschmarkt. The selection was truly incredible. We tried a lot of things, and there were a lot of free samples. The price was also unbeatable: under 18s get in free, otherwise it's €5. The whole meal was really reasonable. We were really satisfied.

Markthalle Neun in Kreutberg is a must every time you visit Berlin! Good and awesome selection of food (the Tibetan dumplings are DIVINE) & drinks. Price performance is fair and the audience is always very nice!

We were promised a little more of it. Only a few stands and the selection was limited. It could certainly be made nicer.

It can get pretty crowded, especially on Thursday street food nights, but that’s also part of the charm. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Berlin and looking to explore something casual and local.

Great atmosphere, overpriced prices..

One-line review: A market that brings together a variety of good products in one place. If you have time, I recommend going and taking a look. I enjoy buying ingredients (groceries) or bread rather than food. The coffee is good, and le brot and sirona here are also good. Also, the cake shop is delicious. I'm not sure about cheese because I don't enjoy it. There is also draft beer and a fresh pasta restaurant. It would be better to enjoy it when it is less crowded.
