Unclean, unfriendly staff, and very expensive

Has the operator changed? Fuel prices have skyrocketed (previously normal, now highway rates) and the toilets look awful lately, half of them are broken. It's a shame. It really used to be a good place for a fuel and rest stop.

The parking idea is a good one, but the problem is with my colleagues (🦌🫎😁) who don't know how to use computers or use their brains, so I have to go and ask what time the car leaves. Otherwise, the parking lot is nice and large, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Although there's a really good espresso machine there, I got the Segafredo coffee from the vending machine; I'm totally disappointed since I work at Segafredo in Kassel myself.

The prices for petrol/diesel have been increased. 60 cents more than usual. Absolutely outrageous. I was there for the last time today. What a shame, I always enjoyed eating there. 0 stars. And there was absolutely no notice anywhere. I only noticed it too late. The staff can't be blamed. Apparently, Avia made the decision.

We were regulars at this rest stop. Five times a year on our trip from Hamburg to Basel. For years. Today was the last time. Diesel is 50 cents more expensive, the toilets reek of urine, even from a distance. We were the only customers in Burger King. We had to search for ages before we found a clean table. Everything has gotten dramatically worse. From now on, we'll be using the Hann. Münden rest stop.

A good solution with the parking machine. If only drivers would just follow the rules.

The toilets are absolutely filthy, and you have to pay €1 for using them. A disaster!

Super here costs €2.27, while at Aral, the price for 5 km is €1.73. Anyone who has to fill up here deserves our pity.

Large parking lot with a parking system. At the entrance, enter your parking space and the system will assign you a parking spot. Showers are available for €4 at the gas station. There's also a nice free observation tower.

Great parking for both trucks and cars. It's a shame that access to the observation tower is only possible during certain hours.

I don't often stop to eat in restaurants at rest areas, but I was very pleasantly surprised... I ate well and the toilets were clean!

Update November 10, 2025 Unfortunately, according to the operator, the price advantage will be gone as of October 1st, so stopping here to refuel is no longer worthwhile. It's now just as expensive as the other motorway service stations. Thanks for the good times, but for us, it's no longer a reason to stop at this service station. It used to be a must. Everything else is still great. A nice service station where you're happy to refuel, since the fuel for BAT (Bayerische Automobile Club) is actually quite inexpensive. The view is beautiful, and the rest area is one of my favorite spots in the country. The staff is excellent again, the prices are very reasonable, and it's highly recommended.

I can't tell Jannik anything about the restaurant, as I've never been inside. I'm just stopping for the great view and to walk around. 99 steps well worth it!

I was quite surprised when I stopped for gas to find that the prices had increased by 40-50 cents per liter compared to before 😱😱😱 Unfortunately, gas station prices used to be comparable to those in the city, making it one of the cheapest highway gas stations in Germany until recently! The grounds were very well-maintained, and the staff inside were great, the food was good, and the place was clean. I'll be stopping by much less often now. 😏

Automated parking based on departure time, clean with bins everywhere! Clean station and excellent shower for €4, I made sure to express my satisfaction to the friendly gentleman at the station's cashier (visit on 06.11.25 at 4:30 pm).

Restrooms need renovation, faucets are about to break. Restrooms aren't clean, and you have to pay €1 for that. The staff at the counter are very unfriendly. Poor service.

Parking is rare... If you need to leave early, go and find out what time the cars in front of you leave. I have to leave at 4:13. The receipt says the one in front leaves at 3:00, but his is written as leaving at 2:45. So, the one in front of me leaves at 4:57. The one in front of him leaves at 6:00. How does your computer arrange the cars? Those who should be parked behind, are parked in front. Maybe you can adjust your computer? Parking is a crapshoot.

Very good station and the restaurant (Burger King) is nice for parking. The problem is that there are drivers who do not respect their parking space.

For a weekend break, it's a perfect place, and for people who like to walk and not sit in a cabin, there's nothing better than leaving the parking lot and getting to the very center of Frankfurt, 9.7 km, but it's really worth it, I recommend it

Ask the people in front of you what time they start because the car in front of me was supposed to start at 3 a.m. and it started with me at 5 a.m., so you might be surprised in the morning.

We went hungry because the restaurant was closed on a Friday! There's no other information about opening hours. The restrooms weren't very clean either, with papers lying around everywhere!

Unfriendly employees at the gas station cash register...who couldn't care less whether the customer bought something in the store or not! In my opinion, such employees are "sales brakes." We decided not to leave any money here! Sad.

The truck parking lot is very small. Toilets are pay-only during the day. Free, locked. Showers are available.

We've been coming there for coffee breaks for years. The quality continues to decline. The bar staff are clueless, and the restrooms are dirty. No longer recommended.

Even my less-than-intelligent colleagues in the comments can't understand why, when there are empty seats, they're told there are none. Did you go to school? Can you count? Because the car in front of you will be stuck there longer than you can get out.

As is the case almost everywhere at German rest areas. Drivers should be ashamed of leaving such filth behind. Switzerland and Austria prove that things can be done differently. The restroom facilities could also be cleaned more often. Anyone caught doing this should be required to clean rest areas and restrooms for a week and be subject to hefty fines.

From the tower, you have a good view of the Autobahn and the Frankfurt skyline. Unfortunately, the elevator is currently broken, so we had to take the stairs. However, the climb was worth it, and we were able to enjoy the view. It's extremely windy at the top of the tower, so be sure to bring a jacket. One star deducted because the tower is very dirty in some places with pigeon droppings.

My second time here, and the restaurant is closed. Apparently, it's been closed since 6 p.m. Google Maps says "open the clock," but of course the tower is closed then, too. I would have appreciated a notice to that effect.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For me, the Taunusblick Eschborn rest stop is one of the best and cleanest rest stops on the Autobahn. Very well-maintained, beautiful views, and overall excellent service – highly recommended! The only point for improvement: The behavior of two employees at the Burger King restaurant within the rest stop was unfortunately rude and disrespectful. This doesn't match the otherwise high quality of this place. Overall, though, a great rest stop that I'd happily return to. 🌟

I think it's perfect that you get back the full amount you spend on the toilet when you buy something. The exterior is lovingly designed, and the service staff is friendly.

It is a pity that the market cafe-restaurant and the observation tower belong together because it is closed today (05.09.25)

Parking system should be revised

A great restaurant with a great selection of games for children. The kids' corner also features high-quality instruments for free use (children's guitars, drums, and electric pianos). The food selection is also excellent, with many vegetarian options. Very friendly service.

We always enjoyed stopping here on our way home. But today (Sunday), the entrance to the market café was closed almost in our faces. We just managed to get a pastry and a coffee to go. And because the closing time was apparently in jeopardy, the friendliness of the service rapidly declined to zero. Many customers after us then stood helplessly in front of the locked door and had to go to the gas station shop or leave immediately. Especially since there are no opening hours posted on the door.

A motorway service station, with the usual voucher for using the restroom. Unfortunately, they want to ensure the purchase of overpriced goods by only accepting one voucher per product.

Good service station, we always stop there. Unfortunately, the tower was closed. 10 points for the fuel price. I have no idea when I last filled up on the motorway for 1.65 for a liter of diesel. One small complaint: the parking lot is unfortunately not very clean.

The rest stop is good, the viewing platform is quite large, and you can see quite far. Unfortunately, the viewing platform is very dirty and covered in graffiti... Still worth a visit...

Here, the bus parking spaces are kept free for our passengers and have been for years. The rest area is very clean.

The food is always delicious, freshly prepared, the view is fantastic, and a little exercise after a long journey is always good. However, the entrance/turnstile to the restrooms and the soap dispensers have been broken for a while. It's probably time to fix it, especially if you're going to the bathroom for €1.

Last Sunday evening, after a long drive, I wanted to take a coffee and pee break at this service station. When I ordered a coffee at the cash register and wanted to pay €50, the gas station clerk (an older, gray-haired man with a long beard and an unkempt appearance) asked me if I wanted a smaller amount or if I could pay by card. I said no, as I only had three €50 bills with me. The man then abruptly snapped at me, saying he was "not a currency exchange office" and that I couldn't buy the coffee. I then calmly explained to him that I had to pay in cash because I needed the change (€1) to urgently go to the bathroom. The man rudely replied that I should "just suck in your stomach." I have never (!) encountered such blatantly impertinent behavior. Absolutely unacceptable (!!), especially when it comes to dealing with customers. I hope management takes action against this. Never again will I set foot at this rest stop!!

Sometime in May 2021: I was sent with my cooler into the middle of tarpaulin drivers, but they also want to buy groceries, and especially eat, so they can listen to my cooler. It doesn't bother me much. ;-) Sure, it would be better if the control system got an update; I'm not just here to annoy tarpaulin drivers. :-))))))) ---> 09/08/21: "Cooler in operation?" Yeeeees --- "Drive in lane 18" Yes, sir! --- Arrived there: tarpaulin on the left, car transporter on the right, tarpaulin in front of me. I wonder if the update will take a while? Well, I don't care, my cooler doesn't bother me. Update 07/16/24: For the third time, I've been sent into the middle of the train with a cooler that is IN OPERATION. For €1, toilets should also be offered that are worth the one euro. Toilets are broken or clogged, hand basins are generally not in good condition, and hand dryers don't work.

Worst rest stop I've ever been to. Unfriendly staff, and the food was absolutely disgusting. They served cold, uncooked bread dumplings with shredded chicken, which tasted awful. I returned it because it was inedible!

Very clean and tidy. The restrooms are also cleaned very thoroughly. Late at night, I have to say, "Women could leave the restrooms clean, too." I have to say to the operator: The restrooms need repairs. After all, restrooms are a place of intimacy, a place of retreat—sometimes forced, but sometimes desired—which should at least be secure enough so that you don't slip off the toilet seat because it's broken.

The employees there are super nice. You can tell some of them enjoy working there. I like working there as a truck driver.

Hi, Taunusblick is a rest stop on the A5. There's a gas station and a restaurant building with an observation tower (hence the name of the rest stop). In short: + Beautiful view + View accessible by elevator and stairs + Large number of parking spaces - Dirty toilets cost €1 The observation tower offers a beautiful view of the Taunus Mountains. There are plenty of parking spaces for trucks and cars. The toilets were dirty and cost €1, which can only be used with a voucher at this rest stop. Unfortunately, most German rest stops now only have coin-operated restrooms, although none of them were clean (paying for a clean restroom is reasonable). If you like my review, I would be very happy if you "liked" it.

Yes, when do you ever get a lookout tower to stretch your legs? Climbing the stairs is a good way to take a break after a long drive. I really enjoyed the view of the Taurus Mountains and the Frankfurt skyline, despite the intense heat. The employees in the store were very friendly and helpful, even at the end of what must have been a very long day for them. The only thing that could be improved is the visible cleanliness (in front of the store). Lovingly decorated with flower carts and small details. Not as sterile and cold as other rest stops.
