I was so happy to visit this restaurant while traveling in Germany and getting tired of meat dishes. I ordered cod fillet and fish soup (I think) and they were delicious. The fish soup was a bit bland, so it might be a matter of personal preference, but it had a lot of fish in it, and I was feeling a bit under the weather, so I ended up eating an empty bowl. Both were delicious. The restaurant was cutely decorated, clean, and had a quiet, comfortable atmosphere. The servers were friendly and took our orders and checks fairly quickly.

A great place to eat fish. I had cod with green sauce – very good. My neighbor had oysters first and then mussels. Reservations are recommended on weekends. Parking is available in the parking garage at the cathedral.

We had a wonderful time. The service was excellent. We arrived before closing, even staying a little late. No one hovered over us or rushed us, and the staff was generally polite and friendly. The price was about 50 euros per person, but the food was delicious, and the wines were perfectly paired. The waiters are also happy to help if you're unsure about what to order. They don't just point out the dish name, but rather ask questions and accommodate your preferences.

I had cod in batter with potato salad and remoulade sauce. The fish was fresh and beautifully moist. Excellent!

My partner and I tried this restaurant by chance, and during our short vacation we decided to return a second time. The seafood was delicious, the dishes were carefully prepared, and the staff were friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

One of the best places in Frankfurt am Main to try different types of fish. This restaurant is so popular that you may wait for a table a bit in case you have not reserved it. What is also great there is second entrance where you find prepared salads and sandwiches to take away. What makes this place special - fast service, amazing atmosphere and high quality and tasty food. I can also recommend to try local wein Riesling. Hope you will enjoy you visit.

Probably the most famous fish restaurant in Frankfurt am Main. The dining area is divided into a restaurant and a snack bar. We were always served very friendly on both sides. The selection of fresh and prepared fish specialties leaves nothing to be desired. We have enjoyed coming here time and time again for many decades.

First time visiting and pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, the zander fillet was left on the stove a bit too long and was therefore a bit dry. The trout, salad, and potato salad were good. The service is excellent, as is the ambiance.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it was one of the top three fish dishes I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is peaceful, the service is fast and friendly. The fish and chips are incredibly delicious. Don't even think twice.

The waiter did not attend to us as guests or show us to a table.

If I could, I wouldn't give the service staff (today at 8 p.m.) a single star. We were there with our family and asked for a table. The man didn't even greet us - just looked at us condescendingly and said he didn't have a seat. When we asked if we could come back later, he said, "No, we close at nine," even though there was a large table free in the back. There was nothing else like "Have a nice evening" or "Feel free to make a reservation for another day," not even a goodbye. But perhaps we, as four adults with a migration background and two children, didn't fit the bill. What a shame!

We spontaneously dropped in with our family on a Wednesday evening: No "good evening," no "goodbye," just a "no space available," and then the waiter just walked on, even though the place wasn't full. No appreciation for the guests.

This was our second time having dinner at Fisch Franke. The decor is very nice, and there are even tables where you can sit in a beach chair. The service is very good and the food excellent. Very nice fish dishes, everything is deliciously prepared, and the value for money is also good. We would gladly go back.

A superb, beautifully decorated restaurant. It serves exclusively fish dishes. Traditional cuisine and very clean service. The prices are really reasonable. I highly recommend it.

In the race for Omega 3 fatty acids at Fisch Franke, Asian tourists are increasingly found alongside pensioners at lunchtime. The food itself is good, home-style cooking at reasonable prices. The pollock baked with spinach was excellent, while the rösti side dish was more of a convenience product. In the fish pan, the salmon, plaice, and sea bream fillets were simply but well grilled, while the side dish of fried potatoes was a bit mushy. 3.5 to 4 points

Currently my favorite place in Frankfurt... No frills or fuss... just a very good fish restaurant for small and large appetites... if you're not that familiar with fishing... no problem either... The staff are very attentive, professional and friendly... and most importantly: always delicious... no matter whether it's from the regular menu or recommendations from the blackboard... 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Unfortunately, there were a few homeless people wandering around, taking leftover food from empty tables and running off to eat it. A sad sight.

We've been here several times now. And it's really great, I highly recommend it. The fish is always a delight, fresh and not "off the shelf." We always received very friendly service. The price/performance ratio is definitely right here.

The food and service at Franke are always top-notch! I ate there again today, and the overall experience was very good. However, I'm only giving it 4 stars because the opening hours, especially on Saturdays, unfortunately don't fit my dining habits. I would come more often if the opening hours were longer.

We were there for the Pride Day, and the staff was overwhelmed; they didn't serve people in line. The fish sandwich selection was very limited. There was very little herring on a poorly cooked sandwich.

I've known this place since I was a child and regularly go there for dinner with my mother. It's a bit difficult to get a seat at lunchtime, but it's worth it. My favorite dish is the Franke fisherman's pan (3 fillets with spinach, among other things), which I order two out of three times, including last Friday, and I was once again very satisfied. Especially since my portion was somehow larger than usual, which is perhaps why I'm giving it this rating after all these years. For €22.95, the food is 5* and the people there are always super friendly. Where else in the city center can you find a pure, traditional fish restaurant? I love going to Fisch Franke...!!

Visit to Bistro Franke Bistro Franke impresses with its excellent cuisine. We tried two different fish dishes, both of which were delicious and perfectly prepared. The quality of the fish is particularly noteworthy – fresh, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The ambiance is cozy and stylish, typical of an upscale bistro, creating a pleasant, feel-good atmosphere. The clientele is also very pleasant and contributes to a positive overall impression. For lovers of classic fish dishes, Bistro Franke is a clear recommendation. A visit is definitely worth it.

People told me that fish sandwiches is one of the famous local food in Germany. So I decided to give it a try at lunchtime. This restaurant divided into two sections- one is more casual fast food style dining area where you can order takeout or pay & dine in the designated area; the other section is little more formal serving by servers. Nevertheless, this place is where you can find a wide range of fresh fishes and seafood!!

The €25 salmon pasta was overcooked, tasted of nothing, and the amount of salmon was very disappointing. The salad tasted stale, and the ready-made dressing was something you could buy at Aldi. The squid rings weren't bad, but they were small and fried in a lot of batter. The wait was long, but that might have been due to the time of day. The staff was somewhat friendly, but for €50, you can eat much better.

Great service. The food, however, was average at best. The fish arrived completely unseasoned and had to be seasoned with the salt and pepper shakers provided. However, it was cooked to perfection. The sauces (green sauce and hollandaise) were pre-made. Everything tasted OK, but it was far too little for the price. Two adults and two children, no appetizer or dessert, and water as a drink, a total of €108.

I didn't know the name of the pasta, so I showed them a picture and ordered it, but I really recommend it!! It was about 24 euros, and the shrimp were really plump and delicious. I definitely recommend you try the salmon too ㅎㅎ

When we arrived around 6:30 PM there was still plenty of room, but after that it filled up fairly quickly. Delicious grilled redfish with local green Frankfurter sauce. Service worked hard and was good. Atmosphere was good for a fish restaurant, the place adjacent to two busy roads is not the prettiest, but that doesn't bother you inside.

Vinimos a almorzar solos y tuvimos un curso con pescado blanco, patatas, espinacas y salsa de queso, todo muy lleno. La comida era sabrosa, el restaurante parecía bastante tradicional con una clientela anciana alemana y el servicio era amable.

Este lugar parece no ser tan hospitalario para los clientes que buscan alienígenas “no lo suficientemente blancos”. El servidor (tal vez teniendo un mal día) mostró su disgusto en cada instante posible. El pescado servido no era fresco en general un triste espectáculo. Tal vez tuvimos mala suerte ese día.

Great place for a break during downtown exploration. I love that they have a self serve area as well as a proper sit down restaurant. Kids menu fish was good, but was expecting something more for almost 15 euros… maybe stick to the regular menu or the specials. All in all recommend!

Ich kenne die Lokalität schon seit Kindertagen und gehe regelmäßig mit meiner Mutter dorthin zum Essen. Es ist in der Mittagszeit etwas schwierig, einen Platz zu bekommen, aber es lohnt sich. Mein Lieblingsessen ist die Franke Fischerpfanne (3 Filets mit u.a. Blattspinat), die ich in 2 von 3 Fällen bestelle, so auch am letzten Freitag und war wieder sehr zufrieden. Zumal meine Portion irgendwie größer, als sonst war, deshalb eventuell diese Bewertung nach so vielen Jahren. Gemessen an EUR 22,95 ist das Essen 5* und die Leute vor Ort immer super freundlich. Wo gibt es sonst noch in der Innenstadt ein reines und traditionelles Fischrestaurant? Ich gehe gerne zum Fisch Franke...!!

Even if the staff feels like they come from a different time, they are all very hard working and friendly. In contrast to the 'North Sea shipping chain', here you have a family feeling and the food is much tastier, the portions are good, the vegetables and other side dishes look the same and are delicious! A good traditional fish shop - which can hardly save itself from customers at lunchtime and rightly so!! Always happy ❤️
