Marienteichbaude in Harz (Landkreis Goslar)

After a circular hike to the Marienteich in the best sunshine, we arrived here and spontaneously decided to have lunch.

By 1:30 p.m., two dishes from the narrow main menu were sold out, and that was during the holiday season. That doesn't speak for the Harz hospitality. Service was right.

After a long hike in the snow, we wanted to eat something sweet! The strawberry cake with coconut was wonderfully soft and delicious, and it came with hot cocoa, perfect for warming up. The waitress was very nice and even offered us the option to charge our cell phone. The view in the snow was simply fantastic. Gladly again.

An absolute insider tip! The Marienteich Baude offers a wonderful atmosphere and outstanding food. The game goulash in particular was an absolute delight – tender, spicy and perfectly prepared. The service was friendly and courteous, and the ambience around the restaurant also contributes to a great experience. I will definitely come back and can only recommend this restaurant!

Spontaneously stopped in after a visit to the wildcat enclosure and immediately felt really comfortable. The atmosphere is super cozy, the staff was super nice and accommodating and the food was absolutely top notch. In addition to the big hotspot Torfhaus, definitely a little insider tip. I'm already looking forward to the next visit!

Food ok, organization not good; Waiting for a long time, but food often came before drinks

This is the third time we have come here and it is always an experience. The food tasted very good again and the staff was also extremely friendly. It's always fun to watch the wild boars while eating.

We had our company event in the Marienteichbaude, there was a great and delicious menu with top service. So it was a successful evening until late into the night.

We were there on 1/12/25. And we have known and appreciated this restaurant for many years, of course even during Mr. Leiste's time. And, yes, let's make it short, it was great, as ever. The game goulash was a blast, the service as if we were friends - then the deer came to be fed in the dark, well that's all it takes. Many thanks to everyone who supported us on this final day of hiking (Torfhaus, Brocken and back). made it a very special day. We'll be back very soon. You are great! And no, I'm not part of the family.,(-;

The restaurant is very nice and the staff is very friendly. However, the Jägerschnitzel tastes like a frozen one that has simply been soaked in fat. Unfortunately I couldn't finish mine. The breadcrumbs don't taste tasty and the fries are more like a two out of five stars. Unfortunately I can't recommend it, even if the staff were so nice. Maybe a few drinks at most.

After a hike I had the most delicious, fruity and fresh tomato soup and the tastiest salad that I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The service was very personable and the view is simply fantastic.

We waited a good 45 minutes for our food. We heard the same criticism from neighboring tables. But the food was good.

Stopped in for lunch with family on Boxing Day. Fennel soup with salmon and the holiday soup were a delicious introduction to our Christmas dinner, goose breast with red cabbage and dumplings and roast venison with red cabbage and dumplings. Everything was very tasty and plentiful. We like the staff there. The atmosphere is rustic chic. Resin somehow. Reasonable price for the excellent food and service! If you only want to pay for snacks, it's best to go to a snack bar. The wildcats' enclosure/house is beautifully made and financed by the entrance fee (€4). The rest of the outdoor areas cannot be evaluated in winter. Playground etc. available, parking lot completely ok. We'll stop by in the summer and take another look.

When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and well served by the lovely lady. The atmosphere is also very inviting and pleasant. We warmed up with coffee and cocoa. A very nice visit overall and the service was very friendly. Keep it up!!!!!

Wir hatten reserviert und unser Tisch war bei Ankunft bereit, die Kerze brannte , netter Empfang. Essen: Zanderfilet von Karte und Baudenburger/Wild. Beides Ausgezeichnet. Burger mit Rotkohl und Pommes/Preiselbeeren war sehr lecker. Fisch gut gemacht. Erwähne kurz den Latte mit Karamell, der war richtig gut gemacht. Personal sehr freundlich und Nix gekünstelt. Extra Lob. Das Haus ist urig rustikal von außen, von innen solide rustikal gemütlich mit Kamin. Wir kommen gerne wieder vorbei. Außenanlagen beitragen nicht besucht.

Very nice staff, very fond of children and the food was incredibly tasty. The restaurant is lovingly and very comfortably furnished. There is also a box with toys for children. Painting supplies can also be brought upon request. Today we were lucky enough to be able to observe a deer and several wild boars directly from the site while feeding the wild animals. It was an indescribable experience and we will definitely visit the restaurant again and recommend it to others 👍🏽

This was our third time eating here. Previously with that The smallest ones visited the wild cats. The first two times We were greeted warmly the second time we felt like regulars. The waitress is very friendly and has a good hand with children. She made sure that we parents too with pens and paper could eat in peace. The food was heavenly every time and plentiful. Unfortunately, the new waiter is not so welcoming as we were used to and the atmosphere is this makes it a different one. Of course he tried, but the serenity we were used to and this little one Magic of warmth and “feeling at home” are missing him very much. We were there today after being in the wild cat enclosure. It was well attended and yet we always received quick and good service! The food was great! Arrived quickly, hot and top quality! We and our children really enjoyed it and enjoyed it! Thanks!

Unfortunately we ate here on our last day of vacation. We were absolutely thrilled. We had a soup first, my wife a spicy meat and I a Jägerschnitzel afterwards, our son had a children's schnitzel which was actually fried in the pan. Great atmosphere, super friendly service, great food. It's nice that something like this still exists. Staff who really enjoy their job. We both come from the catering industry ourselves (head chef, waitress) and were really very excited. Definitely coming back next year. Many thanks to the entire team

We were here with our two children and were super satisfied! The food was delicious (roast beef with red cabbage and dumplings - absolute recommendation) and the service was incredibly friendly. Every extra request the children made was implemented in a very friendly manner and without any complaining (pasta and sauce separately, salad without dressing, mousse au chocolat without orange sauce). We'd love to come back!

We were there for lunch today with our 5 children and, despite the initial confusion of moving tables and finding a seat, we were warmly welcomed and served in a friendly manner. You had the feeling of being a regular guest and every special request was fulfilled. The short waiting time was entertaining. The portions were just right and everyone was happy. So all in all a delicious affair and worth a visit.

We spontaneously went here for dinner today with 3 children and a small dog. The service was great and the food, we had a variety of main courses and almost all desserts, was super tasty. We have been here twice so far and were completely satisfied both times. The food is great, the waitresses are careful, quick and ultra friendly. The waiting time for the food is also quite short and the quality and taste are great (rarely have I had such good schnitzel before)! We'd love to come back when we're nearby.

Clear recommendation for a refreshment after a hike. The menu really had a bit of everything, but not too much. The dishes were plentiful. Kaiserschmarrn and sandwiches were really good. We actually wanted to go where everyone is: Torfhaus. We stopped here on the way home and absolutely loved it! Very polite hosts, great service and above all very tasty food!!! It's an insider tip! If you want to relax away from the overcrowded tourism, this is the place for you! If we're in the area, we'll definitely come back!

As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel comfortable, it smells very good and looks really cozy! The service was very friendly and gave the impression that they had still learned gastronomy. Service was impeccable, food came quickly after ordering. The portions were definitely very large and the food was really good! Would come back at any time and recommend it without reservation.

We had a wonderful surprise here this afternoon! So much warmth and really delicious food. The goulash soup and the baked potatoes with herb quark with lots of fresh herbs and a super tasty little salad. Simple can be so delicious! Thanks to the service and kitchen and a big recommendation to everyone not to drive past here! The wildcat station is also a facility worth seeing that we were happy to see and support.

We had linsentaler with chanterelles and roast red mountain beef with red cabbage and dumplings. Plus an Alster and a Rose. The food was impeccable, the beef in particular was beautifully tender. Our waitress was a real treasure. The atmosphere is a bit rustic (Baude), but very spacious, clean, airy. We felt comfortable and can confidently recommend it. Oh yes, and it's super accessible.

After the change of operator, the old hut has regained momentum. The various dishes we had at the table were all fresh and very good for the building atmosphere. Service was very nice and accommodating... I would be happy to visit the site again

We had game goulash, Jägerschnitzel with fried potatoes, an additional small side salad and various drinks. The service was very friendly and very attentive, the employees were in a good mood. Special requests were also addressed without any problems. 👍🏻 The portions were very decent for us as good eaters. Both tasted very good. 😋👍🏻 I also thought the fried potatoes were well made. Particularly noteworthy here is the side salad made exclusively from fresh ingredients with homemade croutons/dressing (also the salad garnishes on the plates). The schnitzel also deserves a special mention. I don't like it when a schnitzel is completely plated down to a few millimeters and consists almost entirely of breading (I know, opinions differ here and tastes and preferences are very different), but I prefer the meat to be quite thicker . The schnitzel was an astonishing thickness of around one centimeter and was also quite large, but it was still very tender and juicy. Chapeau to the kitchen, who deserved and received special praise. 👏🏻 CONCLUSION: Clear recommendation, definitely would like to come again. 😊👍🏻 I'm willing to pay a little more for regional ingredients, very good quality and delicious food. 💡 VICINITY: Wild animal feedings also take place regularly there, which can be observed from the observation tower and even directly from the restaurant. 🦌🐗 There is also the 🐱 Bad Harzburg Wildcat Adventure Center right next door, which is certainly worth a visit. There is also a playground and a beer garden/outdoor area to sit. It's just a shame that the bark beetle destroyed far too many trees 🌲 and unfortunately the surrounding area suffered a lot.

Nice restaurant with a beer garden and nice staff

Had something to drink in the beer garden. Nice ambience, friendly service and of course delicious drinks! Parking spaces are also available and there is a playground for children directly opposite the beer garden. Top!

The food was great! Super nice staff and fair prices for regional products. If we weren't tourists we would become regular customers.

A wonderful experience that I can only recommend. We arrived in the evening wet and hungry. We were immediately given a place to dry our things and we were served quickly. The waitress was incredibly nice, charming and made a lot of jokes. And then the food came. Good home cooking and sumptuous dishes that will fill you up even after a hike and taste incredibly good. You can also watch wild boars while you eat, as there is a feeding station there and you can visit a lynx enclosure next door. If you're nearby, you should stop by, even if it's just for a coffee. A big thank you to the whole team, you really saved our lives. PS: keep an eye out for the fox, he's very cute.

Spontaneous visit on the way home because we didn't like the restaurants at the Torfhaus. We were positively surprised, the food was delicious (pea and goulash soup), the drinks were served quickly and the service was super friendly and helpful. The only thing that was strange at first was that it looked closed from the parking lot. It's a shame, because neither the food nor the service should be hidden. When the weather was nice, we visited our sponsored kitten again and then had something to drink and eat here in the beer garden. The service was again very friendly. Today we decided on the large pea stew with corn baguette and wild brawn with fried potatoes. Both were very tasty and the portions are always generous. See you next time! We'd love to come back!

It was a completely successful evening! We celebrated a family celebration there with 20 people. Although our request was relatively short notice (1 week in advance), we received warm advice and special arrangements were no problem! We were given the opportunity to have our own room, which was lovingly prepared. We were also able to use our own additional decorations without any problems. We were able to put together the buffet ourselves and it was absolutely great! The service was quick and incredibly friendly. This didn't change even at a "later hour" and we never had the feeling that we were being "kicked out" - as has unfortunately been the case in other restaurants in the past after a certain time. Everyone was happy throughout and it definitely won't be our last visit there! Many thanks to the Marienteichbaude team. Keep it up.

Nice restaurant, with a great outdoor area to sit outside or take a walk. The furniture is a bit old and could be replaced at some point, but it should correspond to the rustic style of the house. The decoration could be a little more imaginative, just a little tip. There are plenty of parking spaces and the restaurant is easy to reach for people with walking difficulties. We all enjoyed the food, it came quickly, plentifully and hot from the kitchen. A schnitzel dish with a simple sauce and one or two chicken breast dishes would also be great on the menu. A big compliment to the kitchen and the two girls who served us. Very very friendly and considerate. Thank you very much ❤️. Eat: Wild garlic pesto is very tasty. However, the vegetables didn't really harmonize with it, but it's still recommended Roast venison: very tasty and tender, definitely recommended Service: friendly, fast and a big plus point is a rating card. Great for getting opinions and reacting to them. Ambiance: nice decor and matching the food on offer. The concept of them is very nice.

I have known the restaurant since my childhood, once as Mariebteichbaude, then Jägermeisterbaude and now again as Marienteichbaude. The experiences of feeding the wild animals, which you could observe from the restaurant, were always particularly nice. Back then the owner also had raccoons. Even when our son was little, we often went to the game feeding sites. Even with the new tenants it is very nice there, great food, very friendly staff. Everything freshly prepared and regional dishes. You're happy to pay slightly higher prices. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio is right. We are thrilled with the transformation by the new tenants

We spontaneously went after the wild cats. Unfortunately, the menu was far too overloaded and with too many additional texts about any information about 20 pages of dishes and far too much text. Unfortunately the apple cake was bland and only with spray cream.... For the price, well. Unfortunately, the coffee also tasted very mushy. And our Alster was simply served in a cola glass, unfortunately nothing special and very sobering.

Well I can't say much about it. The first time they had a winter break and the second time they had a company holiday. But I think it's very nice there.

It's sad that it's closed without any information. No sign, no excuse, nothing. If not now then when! In any case, the menu shows that it is a good chip shop.

Cozy restaurant in the middle of nature, we were there to drink coffee...

Wunderbarer Ort im Harz. Die Tiere kommen bis ans Haus, die Küche hat wenig Gerichte, aber eben für jeden was und dafür besonders gut. Wunderschön eingerichtet, besonders das Jägermeisterzimmer ist erstklassig. Quasi auf dem Grundstück ist die NABU Station mit den Wildkatzen.

Rustikales Ambiente, aber die Speisen sind üppig und lecker. Wir haben den Kaiserschmarrn nur zu dritt geschafft! Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Und wir konnten Wildschweine und einen Waschbär beobachten! Mit Kindern top.

Tolles Restaurant mit netten Mitarbeitern, Parkplätze sind vor der Tür vorhanden.
