Nice beer garden. We had a spot outside in the mock glow - just lovely. It was very well attended. The staff was very nice, quick and careful.

My father and I had a spontaneous meal here today. A really quaint and down-to-earth inn. There is an outdoor area designed with so much love for good weather. The food, we had the charcoal pan, was really delicious and freshly prepared. The selection of food and drinks is definitely perfect, whether it's Harz specialties or currywurst, there's something for every taste. And there's nothing to complain about in terms of price either. The service was super nice, what more could you want...

We were on vacation in the Harz for a week, ate here three times during that time and always received excellent and friendly service, even when the restaurant was full. The food is of good quality and tastes great, as does the cake. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back.

Very friendly and fast service. Cakes and dishes are homemade and of very good quality. The kitchen bull always makes everything fresh. No canned food. The way to the dam house is always worth it, even if you live further away

Now is the season for chanterelles and various delicious dishes are on offer. We can only recommend it.

Was there on September 1st, 2024 and found it very cozy. I ordered a piece of apple pie. It was super delicious, like my grandma's. I would have loved to take the whole tray of apple cake with me.. Thank you for this delicious cake..🤗👍👍

We were thrilled, we were there with 6 adults and 2 kids and everything was excellent. We agreed that we had never eaten such an outstanding venison goulash before, it was really great. Keep it up.

The food was very tasty and served quickly. Unfortunately it took forever until we were finally able to order. The service staff wasn't very attentive and seemed a bit disorganized.

We went there to drink coffee and were given cake on plates with chicken residue still stuck to it, and the coffee cups were smeared with chocolate... something like that is an absolute no-go!!!!!

There is no need to say 5 stars more. There are always people who complain, they need it. They've been coming to the Dammhaus for 10 years, always great.

I only ate the huge cream puff, but it lived up to its name. Very tasty and above all not too sweet. The waitress is a little snored and has to be called to the table, but maybe it was just too warm and the day was already too long and too strenuous. In any case, napkins would be appropriate for eating. Especially when you eat a cream puff. Because it can only be eaten using your fingers. And they look accordingly. The cakes and savory dishes on the nearby tables looked and smelled delicious. Portion size also seems decent.

It's just beautiful here. We really enjoy coming here when we take a short trip to the Harz Mountains. You sit beautifully in the green, the food is delicious and the service staff is always very friendly and quick. There is a small, manageable menu, but everyone will find something to suit their taste. The price performance ratio is very good. See you next time

Good home cooking, decent plates, there is game, schnitzel, fried potatoes and of course currywurst! It's chanterelle season right now, I had them with great schnitzel and crispy fried potatoes for just under 24 euros, it was very tasty! You can sit outside when the weather is nice, but it's also very comfortable inside. Please note the opening times: it ends at 6 p.m.!

Great place. We came here by accident, because everything in the area is open from 5 p.m. and here you could easily eat at 3 p.m. The food was delicious. The roulade was a hit, so soft that you could cut it with a fork. Huge portions of cake, although we didn't eat them because we were already full, but our neighbors did. There are fresh flowers from the meadow on the tables, also a nice detail. We will definitely come here again.

Unfortunately there were only two waitresses there, which meant they quickly became stressed and let their frustration out on the guests. I think that's a shame, the prices are already very high. It's nice to sit outside. Quality of food/drink is good. However, the price-performance ratio for the service is too high.

The cake is homemade and extremely delicious. I can recommend both the vegetarian farmer's breakfast and the hearty one.

It's hard to imagine what it would be like if all catering establishments were so child-friendly, precise and customer-oriented. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and fulfilled our every wish.

We always enjoy coming here to eat. Continuous cooking suits us very well, as we like to go out for lunch at 3 p.m. The cakes are also recommended, especially gooseberry cream.

A listed building cannot be state of the art. The food here is homemade, fried potatoes, brawn and everything else freshly prepared. We always enjoy coming here.

Unfortunately I can't give a good rating. Out of 10 meals ordered, 3 meals simply forgot to be delivered. This results in a long waiting time. We spent about 1.5 hours there. The taste was okay. But the staff seemed very overwhelmed.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Yes, it was busy and we were immediately told that the food was taking a long time. In order. It took 20 minutes for a drink to come to the table. When the food came after almost 1.5 hours, we were very hungry. The portions were okay in size, but the quality of the food was unfortunately poor. The chicken in the salad wasn't cooked, the dressing was from the bottle. The spaetzle drowned in sauce and with too many flavor enhancers. The staff seemed overwhelmed, but tried their best. At least the younger colleagues were friendly and did their best to keep track of the many tables and guests. The boss was our highlight: sitting at the shady table right at the entrance in front of the ringing telephone and chatting with regular guests. Very helpful. The location is good, but I think we'll look elsewhere for a quick drink after a hike soon. It's a shame, the store has potential.

We were here on Easter Sunday. It was busy and the staff was still very friendly and professional. Price performance is right! Gladly again.

We stopped by on our hike and were completely thrilled. The homemade cheese spaetzle and cheesecake were delicious! The staff very nice and friendly. We sat in the beer garden and really enjoyed our time there. We will definitely come back!

Not recommendable: Unfortunately we had a very unfriendly waitress (a bit older, dead blonde hair). She didn't know her own range and only gave snappy answers. We waited about an hour for goulash soups (which usually just have to be filled into the bowls)... A drink was forgotten... The waitress seemed overwhelmed and snapped at her colleague in front of the guests for no reason, unprofessional and simply unpleasant. There wasn't much going on when we were there- No wonder with this service

Honest Harz restaurant (as you would expect in this region). The portions are very generous and the prices are moderate. The location and the price-performance ratio are right here. We would love to come back.

Oh well. Food still OK, but not anymore. Vegetables overcooked, fried potatoes out of the bag and the 'fried' on them is missing. Meat seasoned slightly lukewarm. The ratio of side dishes to the main ingredient is not correct. Side dishes are enough for 2 people. Before you get to the end it's cold. But there are too many side dishes for that. Photo shows everything. The hunger from the trip squeezed it in. Rustic ambience adapted to the region. In need of some renovation. Service OK, but e.g. There was no demand as to whether the food was OK, even though there was little activity. But the sanitary area is great! Oh yes, 33 years after the political upheaval, people are still talking about East and West! Bad attitude for a location that is located in the middle of Germany. I probably won't come back.

Unfortunately, if you change side dishes, an additional surcharge is added. Changed schnitzel with fried potatoes to fries and charged 1.50 euros for it without any information.

Quickly looked for a cafe for a quick detour and ended up here by chance and... Absolutely positively surprised. The price-performance ratio is absolutely great, the home-baked cakes and tarts were amazing and came in a decent portion. The best schnitzel we have eaten in a long time. Nothing comes out of the chest or bucket here and you can taste it! Handmade schnitzel with really delicious hunter's sauce with proper fried potatoes and a small side salad. And the portion size is such that even whole food Germans get their fill. All of this at a fair price. Highly recommended! We will come back in any case!!!

For most people, the Dammhaus is still a real “insider tip” in the Harz Mountains. Excellent food of top quality. Rarely have we eaten so well and all at reasonable prices. Super nice and courteous service. More is not possible! See for yourself, every journey is worth it ;-)

We stopped by on our hike and were thrilled by the warm welcome and the great service. We didn't ask for it, but the attentive owner immediately provided us with two plates of Kaiserschmarrn (actually I just wanted to eat a little of my husband's portion). We'll be happy to come back, thank you very much!

We were spontaneously looking for a warm meal with our children. We were warmly welcomed here without a reservation. Despite the good occupancy, we didn't have to wait long for anything. Great food, fresh homemade schnitzels, plenty of children's portions, excellent charcoal pan. Definitely worth repeating when traveling through. Price performance is also fantastic, the five of us ate and drank well and only paid 70 euros
