The best schnitzel we've had in a long time. Nothing here comes from a freezer or a bucket, and you can taste it! Handmade schnitzel with a truly delicious hunter's sauce, generous fried potatoes, and a small side salad. And the portion size is enough to satisfy even the most greedy Germans. All at a fair price. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back!!!

We went there twice for coffee. Delicious hot drinks and great cake. The food being served at neighboring tables also looked good, and friends raved about its delicious taste. The staff is friendly and efficient, and they easily push tables together for larger groups. I would definitely go back. The outdoor seating area must be lovely in spring and summer, and there's parking nearby.

Very pleasant service, attentive and friendly. Main courses around €20-25; the venison goulash and beef roulade were very tasty. Potatoes and red cabbage: standard, nothing special, but adequate. Reservations are recommended during peak hours.

The change of tenant has unfortunately put an end to this beautiful place in the Harz Mountains. While people once understood the overworked staff and the long wait times when the hotel was full, this understanding has vanished today due to the rudeness they encounter as guests. It's "not necessary" (original quote!). What do they say? Everything used to be better. Indeed. That's how 5 stars become 0 stars.

Terrible service. After 25 minutes, we were told we were leaving after there was no service at all. Not even a greeting or drink orders... When I said we wanted to order food and drinks, but if they didn't need it... All I got was "No, we don't have them." Good luck then.

I've been here twice, and family members have been several times. The service is always very friendly, even though it's often very busy when the sun is shining. A popular destination for locals and tourists/motorcyclists – sometimes we get a whole busload. Beautifully landscaped outdoor area with a view, ample parking. The food is excellent. Game dishes, fish dishes, home-style meals, and lovingly baked cakes 🍰 and tarts. Even the potatoes (they're plentiful) are delicious and well-made. Seriously: not everyone can serve decent potatoes – the Dammhaus can do that too! Everything was excellent, we'd love to come back.

It's really great here! The beer garden is pleasant, even though it's practically right on the street. The food is excellent, although the basic selection is traditional. And when it's busy in the summer, it takes a while for the food to be served. But it's definitely a special place in the Harz Mountains!

We've always sat outside in the beautifully landscaped beer garden, but the interior also looks very cozy and quaint. The restrooms are new and clean. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the kitchen couldn't handle professional criticism. If the cream puff is already spilling off the plate as it's being served, you should be able to tell for yourself that something's wrong. The advice to go to the Windbeutel König was positive, and we're doing that now, too.

Lack of staff, personnel planning, recourse to temporary workers are not possible, etc. Causes??? Many guests, including a hiking group, who had even registered in advance (approx. 20 people), left the inn after a long wait...!!! Therefore the service only gets 2 stars! 5 stars for the food!! The Jägerschnitzel was absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked, juicy and with a delicious mushroom sauce that made the dish special. The blueberry cake was also super tasty, fresh and with a pleasant sweetness that rounded off the taste perfectly. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I can only recommend this inn and am already looking forward to my next visit!

We spent a lovely day in the Harz and found the dam house quite by chance. The reception was very warm and you felt welcome. After a short wait, the food was served, visually and tastefully perfect. The cake on offer is recommended. We will definitely take a look again.

Unfortunately I can't give a good rating. Out of 10 meals ordered, 3 meals simply forgot to be delivered. This results in a long waiting time. We spent about 1.5 hours there. The taste was okay. But the staff seemed very overwhelmed.

I was there again on a warm autumn day and for sure the very last time. Everything was free outside but a tour group was announced, everything was ok. The boss then suggested two tables for us, whereupon I chose the second one a little further away...then she got snotty and said that was clear, but she suggested it herself...so did the daughter, we have to walk that far, also stroppy... So none of my friends or family come back or get vouchers etc. The store doesn't need it.
