Mare Azzurro in Frankfurt am Main

Been there many times, unfortunately It’s a hit and miss each time. Once I had delicious fish soup with lots of salmon in it, another time the soup is diluted with very few salmon. Same with the standard of oysters. I had on one occasion been served not fresh oysters and I never ordered again. Only one particular server there is very friendly and his service is excellent. On other days when he’s not there, the service of the other guys are cold, below-par. The service I had today (9th September 24) is poor and the food portion is small and MEASLY. Refer to my photos. (It was taken before I started eating) The slices of bread came with all the centres empty as though somebody had plucked out all the insides. Not drizzled with garlic oil compared to the other times I visited. The portion of seafood is so small. The shrimp, salmon and calamari are so small. I was shocked when the food came, as I had this a few times and it was not like that. Many flies in the restaurant as well. But it did not stop me from visiting until today’s bad experience. It is one of my favourite restaurants to go to in Frankfurt. Due to its inconsistency in standard of food and service, I will be reconsidering patronising it as often anymore. I will also stop recommending this place to people

Fast service, very filling, delicious menu

The seafood is very fragrant and delicious! Came for the second time. Very satisfied every time. The environment is average, like a domestic food stall. But I can’t stand the low price and good quality!

Cheap and tasty, but not that clean. There were fish scales in the salmon baguette. The tables used to not be clean. Now they already are.

I ate takeout for dinner. All three menus (steamed mussels, grilled sea bream, grilled squid) were delicious and cooked well, bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients. I am satisfied with the taste, price, and quantity of food.

Was five star, now not recommended anymore. Was one of the best fish restaurants in Frankfurt, now sadly only worth three stars. Foods are in smaller portion than before, quality, freshness and taste declined significantly, and almost no service.

They sell fresh seafood over-the-counter that you can purchase to prepare yourself at home. Otherwise it's an eat-in restaurant, I can recommend the grilled platters. I normally take #38 the Calamari, Shrimp and Dorade. Served with tasty fried potatoes and veggies. Delicioso🤤!! The atmosphere isn't the best as it's small with seafood scent all around.

I was traveling with my mom because we wanted to go out for something to eat, but we were still very undecided where to go. As we stood at the tram stop, we were lured by the irresistible and delicious smell of grilled fish and spontaneously decided on Mare Azzurro. The staff were all very nice and friendly without exception. The food was super delicious. The fish, whether as a salad or as a main course, was super tender. The ambience, with the smells and the presentation, reminded me of vacation. It was a very nice and above all delicious experience. We will go again and we are really looking forward to it :)

Burnt pulpo I actually really enjoy eating here, especially the doread filet, so I give it one more point. But my experiment with the pulpo with vegetables was a mistake. The pulp was burnt and hard to eat; unfortunately the vegetables tasted like mud. It's a shame, but I think you can definitely do better :)

You come in and see what you're going to eat. There is a large fish counter with fresh fish. The waiters are very friendly and have incredibly kind eyes if you are friendly yourself. And then comes the food! The garlic bread is great, the salad is pleasantly slightly sour and actually has a bit of beetroot, so it's not just the same thing. My fish was fantastic, not at all dry and incredibly deliciously seasoned, but I could still taste that it was fish. The fried potato fries were crispy and the tartar sauce was pleasantly light - not at all heavy or sticky. Really great guys! Update: We were there with 10 people. A few tables were easily pushed together for us. The food was great again! Everyone was thrilled and they were all frequent restaurant visitors who had already seen a lot. We'd love to come back

Great experience, the food was delicious and the view was beautiful

I ordered the No. 9 set meal. The seafood tasted like a teppanyaki barbecue. It was not particularly fresh but it was okay. Shrimp are processed, with the shells and internal organs removed. The squid only has a few tentacles, most of which are the body, which is quite unsatisfactory. The seafood, baked potatoes and salad were generous portions. The waiters were very nice and the food was delicious and served quickly. The innermost dining space has a very good environment.

A great place to pamper yourself with fresh seafood and fish. The dishes are delicious, good portions. At the same time reasonable prices. Polite and friendly service. The establishment itself is simply decorated, but this in no way diminishes the pleasure of visiting it. We've been here for a week, there are always guests, especially local ones. We will definitely come again on our next visit to Frankfurt am Main 😍

Nice fish restaurant, middle eastern style, grilled. Lots of items in the menu. 2 main style of fishes available: Whole fish and Fillet. Go for the fillet if you don’t want any bones in your fish 😄

Nice cold winter day minus degrees calls for a nice soup dish 😋 so....fish soup it is!!! Every meal comes with complimentary house salad. The salmon in the soup was SUPER! Mains came as ordered Grilled Seabass. DELICIOUS 😋 Absolutely spot on for a winter day meal. Service was super friendly and such a soft spoken waiter! Come by if u r in Frankfurt.

There were so many options for seafood that it was hard to choose. The food was amazing - fresh and delicious. The service was wonderfully prompt too!

Fischmarkt Azzuro besteht aus einem Ladengeschäft (Fischspezialitäten) im vorderen Bereich, und einem angrenzenden Restaurant. Das Restaurant ist einfach gehalten, aber gemütlich, dafür kommt der Fisch frisch vom Eis an der Theke, wird köstlich und professionell zubereitet, die Bedienung geht schnell, und das Essen ist einfach immer wieder eine Köstlichkeit. Ich esse dort seit vielen Jahren - zuletzt vor einigen Tagen, und freue mich immer wieder über die köstlichen Spezialitäten.

Everything was perfect from A to Z. We tried more type of the fish ( calamari, shrimps, dorado) all were so delicious. The quantity was large and sufficient. There were two type of salads ,bread and fried fries which was free. There is a lot of generosity that you can feel it. The staff and service are excellent. Artist.

Hier ist`s fein. Eigentlich ein Fischmarkt, serviert man auch mittags und abends feinen frischen Fisch/Meeresfrüchte vom Grill und das richtig gut. Meeresfrüchte aller Art, Dorade, Wolfsbarsch etc, alles ist top hergerichtet und zu sehr vernünftigen Preisen. Der Service ist schnell und sehr freundlich.

Ich war die vegetarische Mittagsbegleitung, früher mochte ich Fisch sehr gerne. Alle Gerichte sahen richtig lecker aus und haben sehr gut gerochen und müssen auch geschmeckt haben, alle waren begeistert. Für mich ganb es auch ein vegetarisches Gericht (Penne) welches sehr gut geschmeckt hat, auch könnte man sich mit Röstkartoffeln und Gemüse, zusammen mit Salat etwas zusammenstellen. Für Veganer bleiben nur Pommes und Salat, aber es ist ja ganz klar als Fischrestaurant ausgeschrieben. Lediglich an der Sauberkeit im Sitzbereich mangelt es etwas, da sauen manche Kunden schon etwas rum, sodass man da öfter oder nach jedem Gast den Tisch abwischen sollte. Die Weinflaschen können auch mal abgestaubt werden, die Toilette war zwar alt, aber sauber. Ich komme wieder!

Really good seafood in a clean environment. Staff are very attentive and tables get cleared quite quickly and the place is kept quite neat and tidy. Food is very good with lots of spices on the seafood and the chips are freshly fried and crispy with a good serving of mayo. Would come by again to try other items on the menu.

A relatively good place for sea food with reasonable price. I liked the octopus with penne a lot. Baked potatoes in the mixed plate had a surprisingly special but good taste.

Spontan zum Mittagessen dagewesen. Der Fisch wird appetitlich angerichtet mit einem Beilagensalat serviert. Der Salat hat ein mildes Dressing. Fisch - mit etwas viel Panade - und Röstkartoffeln sind heiß und geschmacklich sehr gut. Das Ambiente erinnert an Urlaub. Der Service ist freundlich und schnell.

Ich als nicht Fischmöger habe wieder die Liebe zu Fisch gefunden. Das Personal war sehr bemüht und organisiert. Das Ambiente war auch sehr schön. Empfehlenswert!

We enjoyed a beautiful lunch of grilled sea bass fillets, prawns and calamari, with salad and fried potato slices. The fish was the highlight, being perfectly cooked, retaining moisture. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service prompt and efficient. We were very pleasantly surprised at the cost, which was only 34 Euros, which included a beer each.

Ok, I’m very surprised this place doesn’t have more rating. This place is very good, great selections of fish. The fish soup is also great and everything is reasonable priced. Give it a try and rate it, all sorts of things are in the area.

When you wish to eat good fish in Frankfurt, this is the place to be. Meals are almost exclusively based on fish, which is their speciality, but if you are vegetarian, you might be able to get a salad or some baked potatoes.

Habe hier Mittagspause gemacht. Tolle Auswahl an verschiedenen Fischgerichten, man wird gut beraten. Ich werde sich öfter hier herkommen. Das Doradenfilet war top.

Kann ich nur empfehlen. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und lieb, das Essen ist sehr lecker und fresch. Man fühlt sich nach dem Essen satt aber nicht "hang overed". Großes Kompliment!

Samstag Abend mit meinem Sohn (wir allein essen Fisch in der Familie) allein unterwegs und an der Bockenheimer Warte in Frankfurt entdeckt! Der Fisch ist absolut frisch, da es ja gleichzeitig ein Fischmarkt ist - es wird halt alles nur gegrillt. Sehr einfaches Ambiente, aber irgendwie originell. Sehe sehr preisgünstig - für Geschäftsessen oder romantischen Abend eher nicht geeignet! Wie ein einfaches Fischlokal direkt am Meer in Spanien oder Portugal! Langusten und Hummer soll man vorab telefonisch bestellen - wenn man sicher gehen will das auch verfügbar. Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen und das Lokal auch im Freundeskreis entsprechend empfehlen.

Sehr frischer Fisch, unglaublich gut gegrillt, preiswert und freundlich präsentiert. Ich freue mich auf die Zeit wenn nach dem Straßenverkauf wieder Besuche im Mare Azzurro möglich sind. So muss gegrillte Dorade schmecken. Wir kommen wieder. Ganz sicher.

Fischmarkt oder Restaurant? Beides..Die Fischtheke hervorragend! die Austern lecker! Was für eine Entdeckung! Klar sind die Karte, Restaurant Fast foodmässig gestaltet ...aber was man in dem Teller bekommt ist so was von lecker und frisch...wunderbar! Sehr freundliche Bedienung. EMPFEHLENSWERT!!!
