It was with high expectations that I returned after years to a tapas restaurant that I once greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be a sobering experience, mainly due to the inadequate service. We had reservations for 6:30 p.m. and I arrived a few minutes early. As soon as I entered the restaurant I was greeted very unfriendly by a stressed out waiter. After initially ignoring me, he turned to me annoyed and asked in an inappropriate tone: “What?!” When I answered that I had a reservation, he initially didn’t respond at all and then, also very annoyed, asked about it names. He then led me wordlessly to our table, fired the cards in front of me without informing us that you have to order the drinks from the waiter and the food at the counter and left. This rude and dismissive attitude continued throughout the entire evening with this waiter. Although some other employees were friendlier, they were unfortunately often very overwhelmed. Our drink orders were forgotten several times and we sometimes had to wait up to 20 minutes for them. The only positive thing about this evening was the food, which is still excellent!!!! Particularly recommended are the feta in a dough coating with honey, the chickpeas with spinach and the pimientos. In conclusion, the quality of the food unfortunately did not make up for our feeling of not being welcome

The food was really good, but the concept didn't convince me. There is no menu and you cannot order at the table. You have to order directly at the bar, which results in a crowd of people crowding into a small space. The food is not labeled and everyone has to ask questions about the tapas individually, which only makes the wait in the crowd worse. If you don't sit in the beer garden, the atmosphere is desolate and dirty. Cobwebs in every corner, terrible music (I would have expected something different in a Spanish tapas bar) and the staff seem more annoyed than friendly. Unfortunately I was there for the first and last time.

Highly recommended during the week. Unfortunately, on the weekend, the intimate atmosphere is lost because all the tables are occupied and it is of course noisier/more hectic (I do give the restaurant credit, the service and food are top notch).

The Manuela Tapasbar is already one of the very good ones here in Cologne. It's not for nothing that the bar is so busy. You have to choose the tapas in the front area, which are in large bowls. The staff then fills small portions and warms them before serving at the table. Unfortunately, it happened to me that the temperature of the tapas wasn't as hot as I would have liked. Otherwise the tapas are delicious. The selection is also huge. The prices are within the normal range. The staff seemed friendly and tried hard. Especially in summer you can spend a nice evening outside here.

Really a fantastic selection of tapas and the location almost automatically creates the right flair. Only in the service area could something be optimized, as it is not entirely clear at first who can order what and where. But this is also quickly resolved thanks to the friendly staff.

Unfortunately not recommended. Unfortunately, nothing really worked here. Many of the "tapas" are not particularly authentic. Although some typical ingredients are used or dishes are offered, the processing/preparation is sometimes very questionable and there are no classics such as morcilla. All in all, these are more like small dishes, some of which are cooked with products from the Mediterranean region. The taste of the individual dishes didn't convince me either; I found everything a bit boring. If you're looking for authentic Spanish tapas, you definitely shouldn't go here. About the ordering concept: The food is placed in large bowls at the counter and you decide there which “tapas” you would like. Unfortunately, there are no descriptions anywhere, so sometimes you don't really know what is what. The gentleman behind the counter was so annoyed and unfriendly that I didn't ask anything more after I asked. The service overall was rather unfriendly and seemed annoyed the whole time. In addition, it was really, really loud in the whole place so that you felt like you had to write while talking. So after dinner we left straight away and looked for a quieter place to chat for a bit. It's also a bit annoying that you can't pay by card. In my opinion, a visit here is not worth it. Bad food, unfriendly, unfriendly staff and the restaurant isn't nice or cozy either.

Super tasty tapas - the only disadvantage is that you have to order everything at the counter and sometimes you also have to get the drinks (e.g. beer) yourself. Since we were there with a larger group, we always had to “climb out” of the corner. I will definitely come back anyway. :)

The restaurant was recommended to me. I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely decorated the courtyard is and how varied the selection of tapas is. The service is friendly. A reservation is recommended. If it's really busy you have to wait a while for drinks. You can order the tapas at the bar at the front. Each tapas is at €6.50. Extremely tasty and beautifully prepared. The house wine is of good quality. I will come back as I liked it.

In my opinion, the best tapas bar in Cologne. Authentic cuisine, quite loud and a bit chaotic. I like it very much. Also suitable for a larger group with some vegetarians.

Wonderfully delicious. Wonderfully uncomplicated. Wonderfully unconventional. A guarantee for a successful evening with the best tapas in town.

Totally delicious food, very good rosé, top aioli. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere in the courtyard is very cozy. Been there ten times and will definitely be there ten more times. My recommendation are the ribs, chorizos and feta cheese in puff pastry. I've already tried a few tapas and haven't found anything that wasn't tasty. Prices are completely okay (all tapas cost the same), drinks are a little more expensive but within reason. Keep it up, Manuela!

Super delicious food at reasonable and fair prices. There is no menu, you order directly at the counter. Tapas cost a flat rate of €5.90 per bowl. The portion size is ok! Sometimes it's a bit chaotic - also in terms of service, but just like you would expect from a "real" tapas bar in Spain. The staff is very warm and in a good mood. Very authentic - you feel like you're on vacation! 😁

Very tasty tapas. We were there with a large group and everything was very uncomplicated and flexible. For me one of the best tapas bars in Cologne.

Incredibly good, authentic and varied tapas!!!! I would say some of the best in Cologne. Price performance is absolutely top! All tapas cost the same and the drinks prices are also completely reasonable. The two of us paid 58 for 7 tapas, 0.5 liters of sangria and a large bottle of sparkling water. The service is super on point and friendly. The only catch is the acoustics. Once the store is quite full, it is unbearably loud. You hardly understand your own words and have to make a lot of effort when speaking and listening. We only lasted until after dinner and then had to leave. My ears still hurt the next day. In the future, I'll go there during the week in the hope that the noise will be better there.

The tapas were delicious and the selection is anything but run-of-the-mill. There are slightly more unusual tapas than in other Spanish restaurants (e.g. ribs with honey marinade, tuna, stuffed peppers). However, there is no card, you choose from the front. The food is then warmed up. Unit price of €6.50 per tapas. The portions with potatoes or grilled vegetables are slightly larger than, for example, shrimp. The service is ok, the furnishings are just mediocre. It's quite narrow and therefore very loud very quickly. The dishes were tasty, but not outstanding. Unfortunately, I've eaten tapas more pleasantly and better. It was way too loud for me :(

A visit to Manuela's Tapas Bar was a real treat! The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, exactly what you want for a successful evening. I highly recommend this place! However, it is advisable to make a reservation in advance as the store is usually busy. But that's exactly what speaks for the quality of the restaurant! I was particularly impressed by the diverse selection of tapas, both with meat and in vegan and vegetarian versions. Here's something for every taste. All in all, my visit to Manuela's Tapas Bar was a culinary highlight that I would like to repeat!

Die Leute sind total nett. Und die Babycalamaris und der Thunfisch sind der Hammer! Auch sehr zu empfehlen die Rippchen in Rotwein! Das Bier konnte ich mir selbst nehmen und der Wein wird nach dem abgerechnet was man aus der Flasche getrunken hat. So mag ich das!

Great selection, everything very tasty. Bread and garlic sauce to die for! We were 30 minutes late, but the table was kept free. Friday evening is definitely not a given!

Cooler Laden, die letzten freien Plätze kurz nach dem Öffnen bekommen und haben es nicht bereut - ein paar Sachen an der Bar rausgesucht, einen Wein bestellt - alles kam zügig und nett serviert und ein paar Minuten später die Tapas mit Brot und einer sehr leckeren Aioli. Thunfisch war sehr gut. Jede Schale kostet 5.90, nicht preiswert für einige Salat- oder Gemüseschälchen aber that’s up to you, die Mischung macht’s. ! Ok, der Laden war dann auch schnell sehr voll (ausgebucht) und es war ziemlich laut - aber trotzdem Empfehlung! Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt! Immer gern wieder!

From the outside it looks very inconspicuous. Rustic inside but very cozy. The inner courtyard is really nice and suitable for larger groups (there were 14 of us). You choose the tapas, which are laid out in large bowls for viewing and are brought to your table some time later. We had everyone give us something for each table, so we could try everything. We were thoroughly impressed and everything was delicious. In terms of price, all things are treated equally at really fair prices. For me/us the best tapas so far. Staff and service very friendly. We will definitely come and eat again!

Certainly one of the best Spaniards in Cologne, probably even the best. What's special is the tapas buffet, so you know what you're getting. Reservation recommended, even during the week.

Wir hatten für Freitag Aben 18 Uhr reserviert und gehörten zu den ersten Gästen am Abend. Das Lokal füllte sich schnell... Da direkt am Tresen bestellt wird, kann es zu Wartezeiten kommen. Das Essen wird dann serviert. Alles war sehr gut, nur die gebratenen Pilze entsprachen nicht meiner Vorstellung: zu viele Zwiebeln und zu wenig Pilze. Viele Gerichte wurden mit einer sehr leckeren Chili-Cocktail-Sauce serviert. Wenn diese separat serviert würde, könnte zwischen der Sauce und der noch besseren Aioli als Dip gewählt werden. Ein paar organisatorische Details: - unbedingt (telefonisch) reservieren - keine Kartenzahlung möglich! - die Plätze an den Hochtischen sind bequem Die Manuela Tapas Bar kann ich empfehlen: gutes Essen, urige und quirlige Location, Preis- Leistung passt! Einfach nur Top, sehr angenehme Stimmung im Innenhof. Tapas sind frisch und sehr gut, große Auswahl, für jeden was Geschmack was dabei. Der Service ist richtig gut, die Art von Humor hat uns sehr gefallen. SanMiguel holt man sich selber, Wein und Wasser wird serviert. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

We love tapas at Manuela's. Always plenty on offer for vegetarians. All tapas cost the same and different ones are prepared every day. There you can always enjoy something new. The house wine is recommended and every evening here ends satisfied and full.

The two of us went there spontaneously without a reservation and asked for a place outside. The entire outdoor area was still empty except for a table with two guests. This already occupied table was assigned to us. Not only we, but also the two strange guests looked strange. We were simply placed there, neither we nor the other guests were asked if it was OK. We then “apologized” to the other two guests and explained the situation. Then we asked the waitress for our own table and got the answer: "Don't you like the place?" That has nothing to do with pleasing, but rather with decency, that you have your privacy and, above all, the other two guests. After discussion we got our own table. The shop was still empty. It's different when it's packed and you ask beforehand, but it just doesn't work that way. It then continued that you weren't served. When you asked, you were finally made aware of the concept of the restaurant. When it comes to drinks, you only get whole bottles and then pay for “what you drank” at the end. I think you can live with that. The biggest outrage, however, was that despite the restaurant being still empty, two new guests were seated at our table without being asked. At that point we gave up and ended our visit to Manuela. The tapas were OK, nothing special. Service and behavior towards the customer outrageous! It's been a few years since the visit, but I still remember this grotesque experience.

Food was absolutely delicious. The variety of vegetarian options was nice to see. The prices were quite reasonable as well. They explained the menu in detail. The only downside was that they only accepted cash and no cards.

Cash only! Achtung: es ist keine Kartenzahlung möglich! Gesamteindruck war OK. Essen hat OK geschmeckt, Service war nett aber leider ein bisschen unterbesetzt, preislich fair, aber auch nicht günstig. Haben zu zweit inkl. Einem halben Liter Sangria und einer Flasche Wasser mit Trinkgeld 60€ bezahlt. Es gibt keine Karte und die Tapas muss man sich am Buffet selbst zusammenstellen und dann werden diese in der Küche aufgewärmt. Atmosphäre ist nett, aber sehr laut.

That is an absolutely fantastic place - I'm so glad I've discovered it (thanks to Claudio 🤗). Food is awesome - tasty tapas of any kind you can think of - meat, veggies, fish, frutti di mare.. All are just great! Also delicious wines and cool sangria. The place has a cosy interior as well as the patio with super atmosphere to sit on the warm evening. I do recommend "Manuela" - I will surely come back there again! 🤩

Sehr gute Tapas in schönen Ambiente und nettem Service komme wieder

Sehr, sehr cooles Konzept, Hinterhof fühlt sich nach Urlaub an. Der Service war freundlich, aber etwas langsam mit Wein, allerdings war’s auch sehr voll. Das Essen sah noch besser aus, als es geschmeckt hat, aber so etwas ist ja immer subjektiv. Wir haben uns zumindest sehr wohl gefühlt! Für alle, die noch nicht da waren: Bier kann man sich selbst nehmen, wird später nach den leeren Flaschen abgerechnet, man bestellt einfach Weißwein, Rotwein oder Rosé. An der Theke sucht man sich die Tapas aus, die dann aufgewärmt an den Tisch gebracht werden.

Traurig, dass Restaurants in Deutschland immer noch keine Kartenzahlung anbieten. Direkt am Eingang des Restaurants hängt ein großer Zettel: Keine Kartenzahlung, keine getrennten Rechnungen! Wer läuft heutzutage noch mit soviel Bargeld rum, um für eine ganze Gruppe das Essen zu bezahlen?! Die Tapas sind geschmacklich ok. Sie werden einem von der Auslage nochmal aufgewärmt und gebracht. Der Innenhof ist schön, aber eng und man versteht sein eigenes Wort nicht mehr wenn es voll ist. Ich kann die guten Bewertungen nicht verstehen!

Nach 2 Jahren Manuela-Pause war ich insgesamt etwas enttäuscht vom Service. Sehr schnippiger, überforderter und unfreundlicher „Platzanweiser“, dem eine vorherige Reservierung scheinbar egal zu sein scheint…Die übrigen Mitarbeiter waren freundlich aber auch eher unaufmerksam. Die Tapas dort sind ok. Großes Manko: NUR Barzahlung möglich.

La comida muy simple, recalentada y los precios altos. Es el primer lugar de Colonia donde una cerveza de medio litro (normal) me cuesta 5.5 euros. Las peores bravas que he comido en mucho tiempo. Es preferible ir a otros lugares de comida Española en la ciudad. Es imposible sentarse dentro, es muy bullicioso. Actualización: mi esposa esta enferma del estomago. Dejo una foto del "aioli" que evidentemente no cuidan con la cadena de frio necesaria.

Wir waren das erste Mal dort und werden auf jeden Fall wieder hin gehen. Die Tapas waren alle super lecker, man sucht sich an der Theke aus was man möchte und es wird dann an den Tisch gebracht. Die Sangria ist etwas teuer, das ist auch das einige was wir zu bemängeln haben.

Das Tapas Restaurant war einfach großartig! Das Essen war unglaublich lecker und das Servicepersonal super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Obwohl wir keine Reservierung hatten, haben sie uns zusätzliche Tische auf die Terrasse gestellt, um Platz für uns zu schaffen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Sehr schöne Atmosphäre und tolle Tapas und Sangria. Gute, ausgelassene und laute Stimmung. Wie in Spanien- lieben wir. Der Kellner bekommt die (4,)5 Sterne!

Ersteinmal vorab, wenn man das Restaurant von außen sieht, erinnert es an eine Kneipe aus de 90gern. Dabei ist der Innenhof richtig schön und auch innen ist es ansehnlich. Man Wählt dann die Tapas, welche in großen Schalen zur Besichtigung ausliegen und bekommt sie einige Zeit später an den Tisch gebracht. Wir waren durchweg begeistert und alles war lecker. Preislich werden alle Sachen gleich behandelt, was schon einen Unterschied macht, ob man nun Garnelen oder gegrillte Mini-Paprika bekommt. Alles in allem aber Fair. Wir werden definitiv nochmal Essen kommen!

Tapas waren OK, das Personal super nett, im Innenhof sitzt man wie im Bierzelt und genauso laut.

Echte spanische Küche! Grosse Auswahl an den verschiedensten Gerichten - für das was man bekommt auch nicht übermässig teuer. Zu empfehlen sind die frisch fritierten Sardellen! Das Bier ist RICHTIG kalt, gute Stimmung im laden. Der Service-style der Leute ist nicht mein persönlicher Geschmack (hipster), aber unfreundlich ist es nicht. Man muss nur manchmal länger auf eine Reaktion warten, weil die Bedienungen zwischendurch immer mal wieder mit "cool" sein beschäftigt sind ;-) Ich gehe dort immer wieder gerne hin.

Es gibt keine bessere Tapas Bar in Köln. Alles sehr sehr lecker! Wir kommen immer gerne hier her 😍

Sehr leckere Tapas. Man kann jedoch nur bar bezahlen und es gibt keine getrennte Rechnung. Trotzdem sehr zu empfehlen.

Verwunschener, gemütlicher Hinterhof, leckeres Essen und Getränke, netter Kellner. Wer es ruhig haben will, sollte sich rein setzen oder die Terrasse vorn nutzen, denn im Hof herrscht eine ordentliche Lautstärke, wenn die Tische ausgebucht sind. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend und haben es sehr genossen, vielen Dank 💜

Sehr Lecker! Hier werden unfassbar leckere Taoas serviert. Alles in TOP Qualität, und auch Variationen die u Ich so nicht kannte! Vorsicht: Das Aijoli ist Waffenscheinpflichtig!

Wir waren auf Empfehlung als 11koepfige Gruppe dort und waren alle sehr zufrieden. Preis-Leistungsverhaeltnis ist top und der Service nett. Das Interieur koennte aufgewertet werden, tut aber der Atmosphäre keinen Abbruch. Kommen gerne wieder.

Davvero una bella atmosfera e cibo fantastico! Non è un locale "silenzioso" e non deve esserlo, è davvero bello. I prezzi sono giusti, si sceglie tra quello che c'è sul bancone, scaldano e portano tutto al tavolo. Consiglio il vino rosso, bello corposo !

Tapas und Sangria waren wirklich sehr lecker. Teilweise ein wenig teuer! Brot und Aioli gibt es Gratis. Sehr gut. Ansonsten noch wesentlich teurer.

Ich hatte einen Tisch im Innenhof reserviert. Als wir dort eintrafen sollten wir erst draußen an die Straße gesetzt werden. Auf Nachfrage hat es dann doch im Innenhof geklappt. Bis dahin alles nett und höflich. Der Kellner kam sofort und fragte was wir essen wollte. Wir hatten leider bis dahin keine Karte die wir aber dann auf Nachfrage dann bekommen haben. Getränke bestellt und sage und schreibe 30 Minuten gewartet. Wir haben dann versucht mehrmals dezent Kontakt zum Kellner aufzunehmen. Keine Chance. Wir wurden leider komplett ignoriert und sind dann letztendlich gegangen. Fühlt sich nicht gut an. Schade, das geht besser.

Die Tapas waren alle lecker, kein Ausfall dabei aber auch keine außergewöhnlich gute. Wie das meistens so ist natürlich sehr fettig. Der Laden ist eng gestellt und sehr quirlig, die Bedienung ist trotzdem gut. Würde ich weiterempfehlen.

Das Essen war sehr gut, es gab eine große Auswahl an Tapas. Sie Preise sind für die Qualität des Essens unschlagbar. Im Innenhof des Lokals konnte man trotz kalten Temperaturen sehr angenehm sitzen und essen. Wenn wir das nächste Mal in Köln sind, freue wir uns schon drauf, wieder hin zu gehen.

Bester Tapas Laden in Köln! Man wird dort immer herzlich empfangen und fühlt sich wie zu Hause. Die Tapas sind 10/10.

Dieser Laden ist einfach klasse! Vom freundlichen Personal angefangen bis hin zur schönen Atmosphäre. Die Auswahl beim Essen ist sehr groß und es schmeckt einfach super. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis bei den Tapas ist auch überragend! In diesen Laden gehe ich immer wieder gerne rein :) absolute Empfehlung!

Ich war noch nie besser spanisch Essen - weder außerhalb, noch innerhalb Spaniens. Das Ambiente ist typisch spanisch rustikal. Das Essen wird an der Theke in großen Tonschalen präsentiert und man kann sich daraus verschiedene Tapas zusammenstellen. Eines besser und leckerer als das andere. Danke dafür 🤤 Ziemlich hohe Geräuschkulisse im Restaurant , damit sollte man klar kommen.

Leckeres Essen, familiäre Atmosphäre... Ungezwungen, locker und lebendig...
