Mampfy BBQ & Burger Restaurant in Wernigerode

Were here today for the first and last time. Can't confirm the many positive reviews. After we ordered spare ribs with fries, our food was there after just 15 minutes - fresh is different. Spare ribs weren't great in terms of taste and were greasy, and the same applies to the fries. The food was absolutely not worth the money.

Nice burger place. The dishes are delicious. The service is attentive and very friendly. The price-performance ratio is good.

We personally booked a table for the following Monday when we couldn't get a seat on Saturday. When we got to the restaurant at 6 p.m. on Monday, it was closed! According to the internet it is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Since there were no opening times at the restaurant from the outside, we had no way of knowing on Saturday that there would be no opening hours on Monday. That just doesn't work at all!!! The waitress should have told us on Saturday that it was closed on Mondays. Bad service!!!

The salad was tasty and visually appealing, but the burger, without any side dishes, left a noticeable impression on the plate and was too salty. We were very disappointed, especially considering our last visit a few years ago, the selection and quality of the food had declined significantly…

Great BBQ restaurant! Large selection, large portions, super delicious food! American taste! 😉 The staff are very kind and hard-working, everything runs smoothly and you can look forward to a nice stay, we have been there several times and will definitely come back. There's everything from burgers, fish and chips, ribs to milkshakes. Something for everyone. One of the highlights of Wernigerode, we really enjoyed it with you. ❤️

We didn't have a good experience, despite the restaurant being empty, we weren't served and were told that all tables would be reserved in an hour... we just wanted to eat, not stay the whole evening. Staff is correspondingly rude and emails are not responded to

Somewhat away from the hustle and bustle of the town center you will find the rustic restaurant “Mampfy”, which serves a variety of burgers and schnitzels. Despite the peak winter season between Christmas and New Year 2024, only three tables were occupied. Most of the restaurant was even closed and darkened. The furnishings are a bit old, but still inviting with a touch of coziness. The service was very friendly, attentive and drinks and food arrived after a pleasant wait. In terms of taste, it wasn't a highlight or anything out of the ordinary that would be worth mentioning, but it was ok. But unfortunately nothing more. However, I have to say a very big “but” for the portion size. Unfortunately, this is nothing to fill you up with. It's just the price that really fills you up. In my opinion, things are going overboard here. The price/performance ratio simply doesn't fit here. I have a lot of sympathy for holiday destinations with tourist taxes and also the stress at times of the season (which, however, was not present here), but I rarely felt “not full”. Unfortunately, I can't give a real recommendation.

Super delicious smashed burgers! 🍔 The patty is nice and crispy and well seasoned and has a delicious cheese on top. Just perfect. 🤤The service was also very nice. If we are in Wernigerode again, we will definitely eat burgers here again. 😋🤤 Can only warmly recommend the restaurant!

Tucked away on a side street and just outside the core you will find this gem for burger lovers. The furnishings give a cozy impression. The service is nice and attentive. Drinks were served quickly. The taste of the food was completely convincing. Paying the bill was also quick. It wasn't the last time we were there.

We were on vacation in the Harz Mountains. And we were there spontaneously. Have reserved a table in advance. Please make a reservation, otherwise you may not get a table. Service super friendly/sympathetic. Food was amazing. Hamburgers and ribs are a dream. For me it would have fewer fries and more ribs. So delicate and soft. So that the flesh fell off the bones. Hamburger juicy, fresh, good portion. The atmosphere is very cozy, warm and very inviting. We'll be back. When we are back in Wernigerode. Thanks so much

Very tasty, we spontaneously went to Mampfy and got a nice table. The restaurant is very well maintained and it is definitely nice to sit outside in the summer. As for the vibe, I would describe it as a sports bar. The burgers were very tasty and it was pretty quick.

Seriously, I can't think of anything else to say about this store. The website advertises delivery, which is not available. The same applies to warm food that is offered until 9 p.m. The only sad thing is when you enter the store around 8:30 p.m. and are told that there is no more food. Absolutely incomprehensible, obviously you don't need it. Well, then I can only hope that such business practices will soon drown in the insignificance of business bankruptcies so that even more guests who want to count are not turned away hungry. I've finished.

Well, that was probably nothing. We booked a table for 7:30 p.m. No feedback. We went and there was no reservation for us as the reservation must be reported at least 8 hours in advance. Unfortunately it's not on the website. Were really disappointed. Definitely won't go there again.

Juice shop, you have to wait 20 minutes to get a seat even though everything is empty. 🤣

Very disappointing compared to before. Card very reduced. Plates are carelessly made. Tk quality fish. The only positive point is the homemade lemonade.

We were there on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too crowded. The selection of burgers was perfectly fine in my opinion. You should usually find something. At first glance the prices were very pleasing. The burgers themselves were quite small. In order to really fill you up, you actually have to order a side dish. If you then take another drink, you're already over €20. That's why there is one star less here. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. Unfortunately our meat patties were a bit too dark.

Picked up a chili cheeseburger to take away. With the garlic sauce and something like curry sauce, the burger was in no way a chili cheese burger.

Went in with the expectations of a normal burger joint and was completely surprised. The burgers were very good (especially the vegan one, and yes I am a meat lover). Edit: based on the first impression, we were here again after 4 days and unfortunately have to change the rating slightly downwards. Initially everything was 5* and a really great visit. On the second visit it was in the evening and more crowded, the service was different, which was OK but not as on the ball and friendly as the first. My wife's dish was the same (the Vegan Burger) and this time it was completely different. Patty was still quite wet and mushy. Apparently the more guests there are, the faster the food cooks. My steak of the day was bad. So the meat itself was good, but the cooking point was seriously missed. Ordered medium rare and received well done, but the chef can't help it because you only get a 1cm slice of meat. The rustic fries were very good, the cheesy fries were medium. The cheesecake wasn't to our taste, but that depends on your palate. In short, the second visit was more like a standard burger shop. Unfortunately, because it was such an experience the first time.

Dear Mampfy team, Thank you very much for the epically good food that you prepare with so much love. I have never eaten such a delicious vegan burger before. The mushroom patty is just amazing. The fried chicken burger was also simply amazing. The meat was so juicy and flavorful. The brownie dessert with a scoop of ice cream sounds simple, but it was unbeatable compared to other restaurants. I would particularly like to emphasize the extremely friendly and open-minded service. Service is very important here. Please keep it up. I can only warmly recommend you. And if we are drawn to the area again, we would be happy to come back. ♥️

In my case, a prior reservation wasn't necessary (I was there on a Tuesday evening around 7:30 p.m.), although I can imagine that a weekend reservation would make sense. As many other reviews have mentioned, I would also like to emphasize the friendly staff - the service was very attentive and courteous. The food was really delicious and the price-performance ratio was absolutely fair. I can only recommend a visit.

We were 6 adults and a small child. The first question when you enter the restaurant is an unfriendly one: "Have you made a reservation?" When ordering you are pressured to decide, otherwise the rest of the order will automatically be sent to the kitchen?! The food itself is OK, but too much salt on everything for my taste!

The service staff is very unfriendly, you can't change your mind during the ordering process (e.g. swapping a dark beer for a light beer) without having to cancel the entire order. The ambience was ok and the food was really good. We will never eat there again.

The food tastes good, but unfortunately we probably just had a bad day when the waitresses were very irritable early on. This restaurant is little or not at all suitable for small children and you don't feel very welcome. We didn't find a way to wrap it. Unfortunately, the only high chair was already occupied.

The shop is inconspicuous but the courtyard is quite cozy. The food is great. Small menu but really tasty. And something for everyone.

Were there on 8/9/24. Service very friendly. But I missed the American flair, among other things, in the decoration/equipment of the guest room. The food on offer, apart from burgers, can be compared to offerings such as schnitzel in any other restaurant. So nothing special. If you just want to eat burgers, you can go there, otherwise other places offer equivalent options. So normal restaurant without Amiflair, unfortunately.

Vegan burger was really good and huge. The mushroom patty is delicious and the vegan alioli as well.

The waiting time for ordinary citizens was far too long, even though the store wasn't even full! Smash burgers weren't really smash burgers, not crispy and partly raw. In our opinion, the taste of the citizens wasn't anything special either. After complaining, you were initially told that the medium standard ones were sold, which is almost impossible with a real smash burger. In the end, another employee or the boss apologized! Still, never again! PS the fries were delicious!

Inconspicuous on the outside, unbeatable on the inside! Vegan, vegetarian or with meat. Everyone gets something super delicious to eat here. The vegan burger is made with a champion patty and is a real hit. All of this paired with very nice service and a cozy atmosphere. Absolute recommendation!

Another run-of-the-mill burger shop with completely exorbitant prices? Not even close! Rarely in Germany have I had such a well-crafted burger. The buns are homemade, as is the smashed burger and it is also perfectly fried. The pulled pork and the sauces complement the BBQ burger to an experience for which you would definitely want to travel a few kilometers. The extraordinarily friendly service, the really, really good home-made fries and the freshly tapped beer shouldn't go unmentioned. The prices are completely reasonable. Clear 5-star recommendation. All thumbs up.

Overall OK, but we expected a little more. The ambience is nice, but the food isn't quite value for money. At around €20 for a burger with fries, you'll want a handmade patty and not ready-made pressed meat, especially if you go to a burger shop. The fries seemed like they were twice fried. Mayo & ketchup could be served nicely arranged in small bowls instead of pre-packaged like at McDonald's. The service was quick and not unfriendly, but not noticeably friendly or warm either.

You can tell that the ingredients in the burger were fresh, but they never tasted good together. Something was missing, but what?

Maybe it's the bad weather, but somehow the people here are very rude and unfriendly. Ordered roast meat and between the fat and gristle there was also the occasional meat. I asked for fries instead of warm potato salad and had to pay €1.50 extra. With a bill of over €70 and mixed food, not being able to accommodate the customer in any way borders on madness. P.S. If you change a concept you should first have one. Thanks for nothing.

Cute courtyard and fast, very friendly service. For the (vegan) burger (sweet potato patty) including steakhouse fries with ketchup & mayo, I would only give it 3/5 stars, I've eaten better. The (barrel) beer is very tasty.

Was there again last weekend, unfortunately it has lost a lot of its original charm. The menu has been massively reduced and unfortunately it can no longer live up to what it used to be. It's a shame.

Food is okay, service takes a really long time until you can order something

We also became aware of the restaurant through the good Google reviews. The menu itself sounds great and the food came quickly. But unfortunately the schnitzels were thick and the meat tasted old, and the toilet situation wasn't the best either. Everything in the toilet was in need of renovation.

Came across it by chance during our Wernigerode vacation and ate there twice. Delicious, diverse selection of dishes, milkshakes are also very tasty, plus a cozy courtyard that invites you to linger.

The third visit and always spontaneous. We love it. The service staff are very familiar and always courteous. The food is super delicious and the non-alcoholic cocktails are absolutely delicious. The backyard patio is pleasant and if you have questions you get exceptional answers. Have fun and ask what haloumi is. The answer is the screamer. 🤣 But don't worry, the dish is still super tasty and animal-friendly. I look forward to the next visit and until then we wish the entire team continued respectful guests. 💕

Positive: Telephone reminder service, generous portions. There are children's meals. Negative: The drink menus are dripping with grease and dirt. This is probably why they are collected immediately after ordering, even though there is a whole stack of them at the counter. The fries, burgers and schnitzel were pretty tasteless. Fries and schnitzel very dry. Would be okay for cheap fast food, but definitely not in this price range! When I asked if there were children-sized burgers, I was told no, there were only the big ones. But there are mini burgers on the menu?! Service overall a bit undercooled.

Nice service! Value for money for the food is rather poor. The menu was a mix of German, Mexican fusion cuisine… implementation, well… the only BBQ on the menu were the rips. For €30 more meat instead of bones is desirable.

I can't understand the good reviews and I doubt the taste of many people here. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was absolutely fine. However, the quality of the food is absolutely inferior and the prices are absolutely exorbitant.

Are tourists in beautiful Wernigerode. We asked on Monday, April 15th, 2024 whether a table for two was still available on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024. On April 16th, 2024 I received a confirmation at quarter two in the afternoon that the table had been reserved for me. I call half an hour in advance and am told that there is no reservation... I describe the process, but this is dismissed by the fact that my colleague has probably forgotten it... No apology or even a hint of acknowledgment of the error at hand. Incredible..
