Food was prepared very quickly but the pizza was a bit dark

Today, I look back on the meal with horror. The "Pizza Inferno" was completely oversalted. The salt masked the spiciness. The pizza base had become soggy from the excessive liquid. My grandson had a pasta dish. It was partly warm and partly cold. He didn't eat the rest because it was swimming in too much oil.

The food was horrible. When I got home, I cried.

The pizza with ham and mushrooms and the speciale with rump steak were extremely oily. The thin, mushy dough was almost impossible to cut in the middle. The high, dry crust was the best part. Otherwise, it was very tasteless. The tagliatelle with fish fillet and cold shrimp sprinkled on top was very, very bland in flavor. Luckily, there was salt and pepper. Perhaps it was the lack of garlic or the 2 to 4 tomato pieces (no cherry tomatoes) that meant you had to keep adding more seasoning. The toilets in the holiday home were flooded. Luckily, there were 3 of them. We had considered going back the day after tomorrow, but we've reserved a table somewhere else for a second time. Maybe the chef was just having a bad day. See for yourself...

Top-notch food, special requests are easily accommodated. Lovely ambiance, friendly service, and a friendly owner. Try the Lars pizza 😀

The two of us, my husband in a wheelchair, were welcomed very warmly and helpfully. The food was very good for us. However, a reservation is recommended. We've already made reservations for two more evenings.

We go to Dangast every year and have never been disappointed by the food and service at "Mama Mia." Everything tastes fresh and simply delicious.

There's always a first time. This was the first time I've had such a bad salami pizza. It's paper-thin in the middle and the toppings are swimming in oil. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it. 👎

The pizzas and pastas are good, and the portions are generous. The staff is also friendly. The prices for the main courses are reasonable. Bruschetta, at €8.00 with two small slices of white bread, is a bit steep.

Yesterday, we ate at Mama Mia with eight people. Very good food. The mussels are especially recommended. A cozy atmosphere. Good service.

Even without a reservation, I managed to get a seat, which was fine. It was 5:30 p.m. The place filled up very quickly. The waiters were always friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. I'd be happy to come back. 😍

There was a misunderstanding with our phone order, and the waitress resolved it so pleasantly and courteously. We particularly enjoyed the pizza because she put so much heart and soul into her job.

The food was very good, but the wait was incredibly long. Pre-ordering is highly recommended. The wait staff were incredibly busy and, as a result, sometimes seemed stressed and irritated.

We wanted two tables, but hadn't made a reservation. Even though the restaurant was only half full, we were told everything was reserved. We ordered a takeaway pizza. While we were waiting, more people arrived. They were all turned away, even though all the reserved tables remained free. Very odd for a vacation spot. The takeaway pizza was ready after 15 minutes. It was still warm in the apartment (a 5-minute walk :)). The taste was so-so, the toppings were very carelessly placed, probably just thrown on. All in all, one star at most.

Food: Salami and Margaritha pizzas lacked any flavor! If too many people came, they would have sent them away, apparently not necessary. Prices: Extremely overpriced for low-carb food that tasted like nothing. Unfortunately, a huge disappointment.

Unfortunately, this was the worst and most expensive pizza I've ever eaten, and it was also very small. For a whopping €17, I ordered a pizza with pepperoni and olives. There were literally only four olives and four pepperoni on it. That's a real disgrace. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't convincing either: extremely greasy, lacking in flavor, and just plain not tasty. For this price, I expected significantly better quality and toppings. Absolutely disappointing and not recommended.

Despite having free tables, we were told that everything was reserved at 8 p.m. Okay, my daughter was hungry, but when she asked if they also had pizza to go, she said they weren't available today because it was so busy. Two waiters for eight tables with a total of 15 guests 😂😂😂 Unbelievable, they're just not set up for tourism, in the summer, during the holidays, in the middle of August 😂😂😂😂😂

We ate there yesterday. Great and very friendly service, a very nice owner, very child-friendly, the pizzas were incredibly delicious, and the wine was excellent. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation. All of this is just complaining at a high level.

I can't understand the good reviews. They're really not that demanding, but on the one hand, the pizzas are completely overpriced, and then they don't even taste good. No taste, and for a salami pizza with only three slices of salami, and charging so much for that is truly outrageous, and on top of that, it's burnt.

The service and decor were good, almost perfect, but the pizza was a disaster! No oregano, cheap dough, cheap cheese, cheap sausage (salami, not cooked through, carelessly thrown on), no tuna pizza. Calling yourself Mamma Mia is a bit of an exaggeration.

We simply don't understand the bad reviews. We were hesitant to go at first, but we didn't regret it at all. We were still able to eat even though we didn't have a reservation. There were two of us and we ordered a pizza and a pasta dish. Both came fresh and hot from the oven. The taste was incredibly delicious. The ingredients were completely fresh, which you could taste and see. So, we definitely recommend eating there.

The food was delicious (pizza, various pasta dishes, and appetizers). We tried to eat here spontaneously twice, but were always told "no space left," despite the sheer number of empty tables. Even when we made a reservation, we were surprised. We couldn't eat outside, even though the outdoor area was completely empty and only the staff were using a table. It's best to reserve a table in advance and specify whether you want to sit inside or outside. The staff was friendly, and we didn't wait too long for our food.

The food was delicious, but the communication with the server was intrusive. I was eating alone as a woman and was "felt sorry." The second time I was with someone, the other woman decided to order food later. When my pizza arrived early, I was advised to let it cool down because I didn't have to eat alone today... and it's customary to eat together. When I was wrapping up the leftover salad, I was told that the plastic wrapper was so expensive and that a pasta wrapper would suffice for the rest. But the pizza was very good both times, and my friend also enjoyed her food.

The pasta was great (with lots of garlic). The salami on the pizza was very thickly sliced. It took quite a while before we could order (for takeout). Quite expensive.

Sensational pizza, not just the classic tuna pizza…and the tiramisu: delicious! We'd gladly go back.

Without a reservation, we and our two children were seated outside immediately; it wasn't very busy. The menu and the first batch of drinks arrived relatively quickly. So far, everything was fine. We had to wait over an hour for the food we ordered, and we didn't get a second drink order because no one came by in the meantime. When the food finally arrived, the pasta dishes were cold. When we finally asked about our disappointment, the waitress/manager was neither understanding nor accommodating. We are truly disappointed and cannot recommend the place, even with the prices charged.

During our vacation, we had dinner at Mama Mia twice. They still serve truly delicious Italian food. Without a reservation, it can be difficult to find a seat—we were unlucky once. The service is friendly, attentive, and fun. My tip: Spaghetti Carbonara: I've never enjoyed a dish so deliciously prepared—with fried bacon. And to finish, a "small" tiramisu… A dream.

Nice but a little too much wait and too little cheese

The mushroom pizza was absolutely tasteless to me. Unfortunately, the tuna pizza was no longer on the menu? Had it on vacation last year.

We've been going to Mamma Mia for many years. Everything was always good, but unfortunately, on Saturdays it wasn't. Terrible service; we waited over an hour for our food. After we wanted to leave early, the manager came over and said they were so busy we probably hadn't noticed. It wasn't that busy... No apology, and the waiter came even faster when we paid. We won't be back.

Even though we didn't have a reservation, we still managed to get a seat. We were barely seated when the menu arrived. As soon as we got the menu, the waiter was at the table, ready to take our order. The tables were, in my opinion, too close together, so you were afraid of knocking over something from the next table if you stood up. Unfortunately, the pizza was a bit too soggy, but otherwise, the pizzas looked pretty good. The small pizza is quite large.

We had reserved a table, but arrived early. The restaurant was full. We were greeted very warmly by the owner—she has short dark hair—and only had to wait a short time before being seated 30 minutes early. Service was wonderful—drinks arrived immediately. The appetizer we ordered was delicious. We were also served small pizza rolls upon request! Our main courses—pizza and pasta with special requests—arrived in a timely manner. Both were delicious—the pizza was well-topped and fluffy and crispy at the same time. The pasta was delicious—the pasta wasn't overcooked, and there were plenty of tomatoes, spinach, and salmon! The small rolls served with it were homemade and delicious. The young girl behind the counter was also very friendly; she always gave us a smile! And immediately asked if we had any other requests. The food was truly fantastic, and the evening was rounded off with a really nice conversation with the owner. We had a lovely evening there and were completely satisfied. Therefore, we're giving it the full number of stars in every area! Eating here is a definite recommendation from us if you're in Dangast! Important: Make sure you make a reservation, because otherwise, it's not always easy to get a table in this small but cozy restaurant! We'll be back next time♡

We went there spontaneously and without a reservation while on vacation and were very happy with our truly delicious pizza. The drinks were excellent. The service was very friendly and pleasant. The price/performance ratio was absolutely excellent. We were very pleasantly surprised. Thank you very much.

We pre-ordered the pizza for pickup by phone, and the woman on the phone was very friendly and nice. She answered the phone before opening time 👏🏼. Ready for pickup after 40 minutes, as stated. The place is super tidy and well-decorated. They even have a La Cimbali ☕️ 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 The pizza was delicious, crispy crust, and well-topped. We all enjoyed it. We'd gladly go back to Mamma Mia in Dangast.

Unbelievable, we had reserved a table for 8 p.m. It wasn't that busy anymore. Only a few tables were still occupied. We ordered and wanted another glass to go with the large bottle of water. Unfortunately, it never came. I was the only one who ordered a starter. It arrived after about half an hour. When the food still didn't arrive after an hour, we paid and left. No comment from the waiters or owners, I don't know, they already had a starter. No apology, no gesture of goodwill. Nothing. We tried to order something to drink again. We were noticed, but no one came. I must never go there again and can only advise against it.

Worst Italian restaurant I know! Go somewhere else! The manager seated another couple who came in after me first, which meant I got the inside seat, while they sat outside. When I asked about it, I received a half-hearted apology and flimsy explanations. "That's the way it is, what else can I say?" All other seats were reserved. Apparently, the couple also had reservations, although I heard them say during the greeting that they were there without a reservation. The more affluent you are, the more likely you are to be treated well. I don't even want to get started on the local regulars: they arrived after me and had their orders on the table before me. I ordered the salami pizza: it was just as bad as described in the other reviews. It was dripping with grease, and the salami tasted rancid. The rhubarb spritzer listed on the menu was out of stock. At least the evening wasn't particularly expensive: I paid €16 for a spritzer and the pizza. But more would have been outrageous given the quality.

We were there on our vacation and the staff was super friendly. The food arrived quickly and the portions were really generous. Both the pasta and pizza were beyond delicious. I can only recommend it. 👍🏼

Not recommended, I was there yesterday and ordered pizza, I actually had salami as usual but it smelled unpleasant. She tried it too, I would say the salami was rancid, I left it behind and told the owner but she thought it was Milanese salami, I've eaten a lot of salami pizza but I've never had such a rancid smell with a pizza. She didn't even offer me a different menu but I was allowed to pay her. I can't recommend it!!

Unfortunately we don't. We reserved a table with our grandchildren (personally on site). When we arrived the reservation didn't exist. After a long discussion, an employee admitted that we were there the day before and she had forgotten to enter it. We then ordered takeaway. Waited over an hour and it was inedible so we threw the food away. And it wasn't cheap. We'll never go there again!!!!

To put it briefly: fake friendliness. Pizza tasteless, the dough difficult to cut and laborious to chew. We left half on the plates. The ambience...well. A converted house, no trace of Italian atmosphere. We were very disappointed.

We stopped by spontaneously. We received a friendly welcome and were given a place on the terrace, as requested. The seats and table were clean, the menu was clear and our drink requests were quickly accommodated. Our starter was out and we were offered alternatives, we chose salad with chicken breast, it came fresh and quickly and the chicken breast was well fried. For the main course we chose tagliatelle with rump steak and black tagliatelle with scampi. Both dishes came to the table hot and tasted great. The atmosphere was cozy, the toilets were clean and the sunset shone through the trees on the terrace. We'd love to come back!

Absolutely outstanding food! The homemade pasta dishes (we had homemade ravioli with duck and once with pumpkin) were incredibly delicious! The service was also impeccable and very friendly. For me the best restaurant in Dangast (I'm not including Edo in the comparison because of its significantly higher price category).

Had veal schnitzel with rosemary potatoes and mixed salad there yesterday. It tasted really good. The staff is simply great. Can't understand the bad reviews. We ate there 3 times and it was always great

Nice pizzeria in Dangast-Varel. Easily accessible, both on foot and by car, although the selection of parking spaces directly in front of the house is somewhat limited. But there are plenty of options for parking in the area. Service was very good, and the food and drinks were pretty good all in all. Positive: despite the very full house, we got food for 6 people within 30 minutes. The only negative point: it's a bit expensive for my taste. These are local prices for a tourist location. Otherwise great 👍

We reserved a table at short notice. The staff is very nice. However, unfortunately we didn't like the food. Unfortunately the pizza is very soggy and not crispy at all. In addition, the dough tastes like nothing. Unfortunately, the salad was also very tasteless and was in the Water. Unfortunately the noodles weren't good either. We had the spaghetti carbonara. They were swimming in fat, the ham was far too big and didn't taste good at all. Unfortunately! I don't think we will come again.

The pizza doesn't taste good. Hardly any cheese and the toppings are saved where possible. The price-performance ratio is very bad. Nobody in our group was able to finish the pizza.

Been there twice, ordered various things, but the Margherita pizza (same negative experience twice) leaves you speechless. Just an island of cheese in the middle (corresponds to approx. 35% of the area), then a thick edge with no toppings or even tomato sauce on it? (See photo) Is something like this a decent Margherita pizza (and I'm not complaining about the Gouda)? Is there a general saving on the covering but is there a saving on the prices? I would be happy to pay more, but then please prepare it properly. I can't recommend this place. Unfortunately there is no selection of Tratoria or pizzerias in the town. Then there are mainly tourists on site, so you don't always have to give 100% effort, because if one tourist is gone, the other will come tomorrow.

I've never eaten so badly. The pizza was a puddle of oil, the pasta was soggy and swimming in sauce. It couldn't be worse. The antipasti beforehand only consisted of gratinated vegetables and therefore had no taste whatsoever. It's a shame...since we barely touched the food, the waiter asked "did it taste good?" Wir haben uns entschieden, dieses Restaurant nicht mehr zu besuchen, da die Qualität des Essens und des Service nicht unseren Erwartungen entsprach. Die Pizza war kaum zu schneiden und sehr mager belegt. Die Zutaten wurden einfach in die Mitte geschmissen. Ich bestellte Schweinemedaillons, die leider sehr durchgebraten waren. Die Rosmarinkartoffeln schmeckten nicht nach Rosmarin und der Salat war eher wässrig. Die Gäste am Nebentisch hatten ähnliche Probleme. Die Pizzeria ist sehr eng und als wir schon aßen, bediente der Kellner den Nebentisch und hing fast mit seinem Hintern in mein Essen. Getränke wurden auch nicht nachgefüllt. Ausserdem sehr teuer.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal in diesem Lokal und werden nicht noch einmal dort essen. Das Essen war gut, daran war nichts auszusetzen. Aber die Wartezeit und wie der Service damit umging: 40 Minuten nach der Bestellung fragten wir nach unserer Vorspeise (Bruschetta), die dann auch kam. Nach weiteren 20 Minuten kam der Salat zu einem Hauptgericht. Auf meine Frage, ob der Rest jetzt auch komme: Jaaaa. Es dauerte nochmal mindestens 10 Minuten, bis die Hauptspeisen kamen. Beim Bezahlen monierte ich die extrem lange Wartezeit. Keine Entschuldigung nur die lapidare Aussage: das kann schon einmal kommen. Und: SIe machen jetzt alles daran fest!

It was our first time at this restaurant and we won't eat there again. The food was good, there was nothing wrong with that. But the waiting time and how the service handled it: 40 minutes after ordering we asked for our starter (bruschetta), which came. After another 20 minutes the salad became a main course. When I asked if the rest was coming now: Yes. It took at least another 10 minutes for the main courses to arrive. When paying, I complained about the extremely long waiting time. No excuse, just the succinct statement: it can happen at some point. And: Now you tie everything to it!

Delicious food and friendly service.

We were in this tastefully decorated restaurant today. The service was very friendly and we were shown to a beautifully set table. I chose the salmon fillet grilled on lava stone. This included a mega fresh mixed salad. The salmon tasted wonderful. And the side dishes were simply delicious. We will of course visit the restaurant again.

If you're expecting the typical pizza from the pizza man next door, you're in the wrong place here. We spent a week in Dangast and ate at the Mamma Mia restaurant three times. Every time the food was very good. Whether the pizza, the pasta or the steaks, everything is recommended. The bruschetta with goat cheese (starter) was probably the best thing I've eaten so far :) overall, interesting menu that you don't find that often. Would have liked to try more ;) The waitresses were very friendly and prompt. We absolutely cannot understand the bad reviews here. Best regards, keep it up!

I ate pulpo with tagliatelle, no, enjoyed it! This was the best pulpo since San Tiago de Compostella. Very lovely service. My wife had tagiatelle with fish and North Sea crabs and was also thrilled with the quality and quantity. The restaurant is recommended without reservation.

Used to be good and tasty. Yesterday I had an argument with the dough. Tough as a shoe sole. I couldn't cut it, I could only tear it. The salad dressing was also better.

Were there for dinner, pizza which was quite good and bruschetta and buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes which was a disaster, bruschetta totally over salted tomatoes and mozzarella completely tasteless because everything was ice cold. It can no longer be compared with the quality of the previous owner, especially not with the price jumps.

Many tables were free. But we were simply sent away at 7:30 p.m Because I can only recommend loading 😉

We were looking forward to a relaxing evening at Mamma Mia, but were unfortunately bitterly disappointed. We had specifically reserved a table outside in advance because we were traveling with our dog. This was also promised to us on the phone. But when we arrived, we were greeted unfriendly and told that the boss didn't want to serve outside. No excuse, no alternative – just a cold “no”. The weather was nice and there was no apparent reason why we couldn't sit outside. My friend tried again and politely asked if it might be possible to eat outside. But here again it's just an unfriendly rebuff. As an "alternative" we were offered a bar table in the interior, which was still occupied by other guests. I have rarely experienced something like this. We felt completely unwelcome and ended up leaving the restaurant without eating. We definitely won't recommend the Mamma Mia in Dangast. If you're expecting a nice evening in a relaxed atmosphere, you've come to the wrong place!

We were able to sit outside spontaneously without making a reservation. We were served in a friendly and courteous manner. The selection of dishes is sufficient and varied. The food was exceptionally good! The pizza and the antipasti plate are highly recommended! The prices are completely okay for the location! We cannot understand the negative reviews!

We ordered pizzas. We didn't wait long, the pizzas were ready very quickly. These pizzas were disgusting. The pizza was very thin and very salty. There was far too little cheese on it and the tomato sauce was also terrible. The salami was disgusting just like everything else. The price is not worth it for pizzas like this and I don't recommend you eat here.

Reserved a table and ate there. The order was taken quickly. As a welcome there were small pizza rolls with a dip. This was delicious! What is not possible, however, is for the child to be the last to get their food at the table. Accordingly, the child's mood was already in the shitter. The two pizzas were from Dough okay but in the middle it felt like there was no pizza base left and it was totally soggy. The toppings on my pizza were probably just slapped on (see picture). I've never even seen something like that on a frozen pizza. But the taste was quite good. The spicy salami saved the pizza. The salad with turkey strips wasn't the best either. The meat was very bland and didn't look that appetizing. In general, the salad looked like it came from a bag from the supermarket, only pimped up a bit with tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. The price was €84.00 for 4 adults and 1 child. Everyone had 1 drink and a main course. When you wanted to pay you had to point out three times that you finally wanted to pay. If you still couldn't fulfill your request, you paid directly at the counter. Otherwise we would probably still be sitting right now. Unfortunately a sentence with X that was probably nothing.

Tables were still free where my food was ready and at the end of the song there was hardly any toppings and there wasn't a crab on the North Sea pizza, a joke for the price of 3 pizzas for 45.50€ I would have gotten 5 somewhere else a better quality thanks but no thanks
