Mama Cook in Berlin

The food was delicious! Big portions with affordable prices and so many options! The restaurant has a lovely decoration and the staff was so attentive and kind. Be careful, they only accept cash.

I can recommend making a reservation here in good time, it's easy to do online. The rush is enormous. The food is typically Asian, but not particularly. Some of the meat wasn't cooked through. Really a shame.

When it comes to food, the price/performance ratio is right. But the service is not good at all. We had reserved a table for 7 p.m. Nevertheless, all tables were occupied by 7 p.m. At 7:10 p.m. we received a table in the quick extension. But it wasn't until another 20 minutes later that our order was taken.

We became aware of this restaurant through TikTok. We reserved a table and got a spot next to the toilets. This place advertises Fusion Kitchen. But none of this can be found on the map. The cards look very unhygienic, very worn and stuck together. The meat was rather fried. Rice and sauces were okay. The Mama Cook plate served on a hot platter was not hot, so why serve it on that platter? The taste is no more than average. It's a shame we took such a long journey.

Super delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. If only the waitress would also take care of the guests... Once you have contact, the service is quick and good.

The food is OK. Ambiance too dark during the day, especially in autumn/winter. A very unpleasant situation arose when paying with a card. I wanted to pay with Apple Pay and was informed that a Girocard was required, which I wanted to respect. However, the waiter expressed doubts about it and asked to check my card on my phone. I explained that this was private and I was not required to show my card. As a result, the card reader was initially not provided. Finally, in order to resolve the situation quickly since I had to get back to work, I reluctantly showed the card I wanted to use and was then able to pay. This incident was very unpleasant for me and I found the behavior to be unprofessional. Because of this experience, I will no longer eat there, even with my colleagues who are regular guests there.

We ate here and were served by Le. It was super tasty and quick and easy :)

The restaurant is very stylishly decorated. We were there for lunch. I had curry with baked salmon. I didn't know that before, it was very tasty. The price was absolutely reasonable for the quantity and quality. The homemade iced tea was also very tasty.

My sister and I had an excellent meal here and received great and friendly service from Le. We would love to come back. Kind regards and thank you for a relaxing stay.

8 of us went to Mama Cook for a birthday dinner. The place was completely full for a Wednesday evening, which definitely speaks for the store. Now for the review: We had a different selection of iced teas which were very good. Unfortunately, the food on the other hand was nothing more than absolutely average. The starters were all well portioned, but lacked spice and pizzazz everywhere. The picture continued with the main course, good portions but absolutely nothing special in terms of taste, which everyone found a total shame. Since I know Vietnamese cuisine to be more exotic in terms of taste and spices, the dishes at Mama Cook are very much adapted to the European palate. So if you're expecting a taste explosion, you're definitely wrong here. That's why the food unfortunately only gets 2 stars. The service on the other hand is very good. The staff very friendly and helpful. 5 stars. The ambience gets 3 stars. Unfortunately, the images on Google Maps are very heavily enhanced. We were there in winter but even in summer I can't imagine that the place looks like it does in the pictures. Instead of chairs, you sit on long, moderately comfortable benches in the winter garden.

The facility is getting old. Thick layer of dust on the artificial flowers, table surfaces worn and toilets need a makeover. The food was okay but the service was subpar. The older waitress threw the basket of cutlery on the table and was extremely rude. Despite having a reservation, you had the feeling that you would be processed quickly. The main course was already served even though we were still eating the starter. After the main course we asked again for the menu for desserts, then the older waitress didn't want to bring the menu on the grounds that we had so many other reservations for the day (we were there on a Saturday at 4 p.m.!!! And there were still free tables!). When asked whether we wouldn't get the card again, we responded with sarcasm and malice. ABSOLUTE RUDE!!! Very reluctantly we were allowed to order a dessert, when we asked for a coffee they said they didn't know if they had any more coffee!?! It has to be said that we hadn't been in the restaurant for 50 minutes at that point! Apparently the restaurant only allows 60 minutes of stay time per guest. Then the table must be freed again. I have never had such impossible and rude service, and I travel a lot to restaurants around the world. 0 stars for the service! The starter "Duck Skewers with Terriyaki Sauce" turned out to be fried glass noodles with three fragments of duck pieces in 3 of 5 skewers. The Terriyaki sauce consisted only of the plate decoration / painted in a zigzag on the plate. So not enough for the “duck” skewers. Overall, it was a shame because the food was tasty, but the rude treatment completely spoiled the visit. An absolute no go for me! Other Thai restaurants in Berlin also have good food and the service is better.

Had dinner here. Drinks and food came quickly, were tasty and very reasonably priced. The decor is a bit old, an older female waitress was quite resolute and brisk, the rest of the staff was friendly and courteous. Overall it was absolutely okay, but not a highlight that you would necessarily repeat.

Fairly good food at affordable prices. We had made a booking but when we arrived we didn't receive very clear direction from staff. Service was relatively slow but otherwise staff were friendly. Please note - they do not accept visa or mastercard, only German bank cards or cash.

Unfortunately, the predominantly positive reviews do not match our experiences at all. Saturday evening 7:30 p.m., placed in the "winter garden", waiting time for 2 cups of jasmine tea, 15-20 minutes, the main course took another 25 minutes, the starter came 1 minute later, for our signal to let the starter soup go back because it was too late, we were met with incomprehension Looks. The main dishes served to us basically didn't deserve an award for “uniqueness”, but rather for “you can eat”. After the mood killer with the long waiting time and the starter soups that were supposed to be served after the main course, the rubbery and tough chicken on my plate finally spoiled my mood! I ate the vegetables and rice and left the chicken on the plate. The gentleman in service apologized while clearing up and then took the dish off the bill. At the table next to us, a lady complained that the soup was only served lukewarm, which was then brought back steaming 3 minutes later (microwave!?)! We've had almost exclusively good experiences in Vietnamese restaurants, but this is definitely not one of them! When paying I was “pointed out” three times that the TIP was not included! In other words “You have to pay extra for the service”!! I definitely thought not!! I actually wouldn't have wanted to pay anything for this experience, plus I wouldn't have wanted to reward the service with a TIP... hardly! Instead of persistently demanding the TIP, I would recommend taking care of the waiting guests or keeping an eye on the kitchen!! There will be no repeat here for us!

The food here is magnificent. All of us were very impressed with the and the service. I recommend that you book a table in advance as the restaurant is extremely popular. The prices are extremely reasonable. Will return as soon as possible. UPDATE. NOV 24. Food still good. Service NOT. Although we booked they tried to get rid of us. They nearly refused to give my wife the desert menu as they had other bookings. Really sad.

Simply canceled the reservation 40 minutes beforehand for no reason and then not even an apology.

We made a reservation for 9 people a week in advance for a friend's birthday. 40 minutes before arrival we received an email that our reservation had been canceled. We then reoriented ourselves and found something better and nicer. It has never happened to me before that people don't even apologize for such a mishap.

Un restaurant vietnamien qui propose de très bon plats avec un rapport qualité prix très bon. Comme dans beaucoup de restaurants à Berlin et en Allemagne en général il faut payer en liquide ce qui est de plus en plus compliqué pour des gens connectés et modernes

The restaurant is more comparable to 'Mama Money'. We had made a reservation but unfortunately arrived a little late and reported this by telephone. We didn't get our table and the service employee was rather unfriendly. A little later a nicer service person came and showed us to the table. The restaurant was neither cozy nor relaxed... It was just super crowded and you felt like you were sitting on your neighbor's lap. The order was taken quickly, but we had to wait a little longer for the drinks and food. Unfortunately, the food was not at all well seasoned, as is usually the case in similar places. The table next door wanted to pay, but the bill was brought to us straight away... We hadn't even finished eating yet. We then quickly ate, paid and when we got up the next guests were already behind us. If you like assembly lines, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, everything else is wrong. In any case not a recommendation and questionable where the 4.5 star rating comes from.

In my time in Berlin I must have eaten at Mama Cook over 50 times. I’m fully convinced their Ente Curry is the best in city. Easy 5 stars.

Delicious food and good presentation. Service is good. Staff speaks English and German. They have outdoor Terrace and they cover it in the Winter. But still chilly inside. They play music but i ruined the ambiance since its small space. Ppl tent to speak louder because of the music. Tables are so close to each other that you can hear the other Table.I dont recommend the place for Ppl, who loves eating in quiet spaces.

The food was nice. I took the crispy duck, which was delicious! But I also had the prawn soup as a starter. And the picture showed 5 prawns in it, but I only had two mini-prawns in mine👎🏽 The place was ok.. But the elderly lady of the service was such a grumpy old woman.. So I decided not to tip her and that made her even more grumpy and wanted us to leave! So we won’t be coming back again..

The food was okay, it wasn't particularly good but it wasn't bad either.

The food was pretty good but the restaurant was so packed out that it was like an oven in there.....there wasn't any air conditioning in the area that we sat so the evening was quite uncomfortable. Not all of our group were given the correct dishes but it was soon rectified. Strangely they only accepted a local / German payment card or cash ( not internationally recognised debit/credit cards 🤔). I would return to Mama Cook but would ask to be seated nearer the front.

Meine Kollegin und ich sind 3 mal im Jahr beruflich in Berlin und gehen regelmäßig ins Mama Cook. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt absolut. Reklamationen werden umsichtig und freundlich angenommen. Einziger Kritik Punkt ist, dass es sehr laut und viel zu warm ist. Wir kommen gerne wieder 🫶

A little gem, we went here based on its proximity to the hotel and we were not disappointed. When we arrived, the place was packed so glad we had booked a table in advance. Whilst waiting, we saw many dishes pass by us which reinforced our decision to eat here. The food was exceptional (as was the service) with a wide and varied menu. The only downside (which I wouldn’t have known without consulting Trip Advisor) was that they only accept German bank cards so we needed cash in advance

Mama Cook is a Vietnamese restaurant - with CASH ONLY (or EC Card) option. I spent an evening there, enjoying the calm atmosphere and YUMMY food. Service was FAST, staff friendly and quality of food - DELICIOUS. Pricing was also quite good. If paying in cash is not a problem, I will highly recommend that you pay this place a visit.

Ordered the red curry with chicken. Chicken strips came out tough but the red curry was unfortunate. It tasted like a watered down coconut sauce with some red color and spice - it was runny, weak in flavor and the veggie combinations didn't make much sense. The vegetables were cut in different cute shapes which add some visual flare, but I wish they spent the time it took cutting/pressing them into shape on making the food better. Also, why is a watery curry (consistency of soup) served on a shallow plate? When I took a look at the decor, things made sense - visual flare with little to back up. I'd say the positives were the vegetables were fresh. Im new to Berlin and maybe standards are different but I hope this restaurant can improve it's food.

Unfortunately, we cannot understand the good reviews. Reservations were made for 5 people, we got a table for 4. After asking, we got another 4-seater table with a slightly longer bench. When the drinks were served it was announced that there would be no more draft beer shortly after 7pm. The tapas/starters, which were deliberately ordered as the main course, were brought as starters contrary to what was ordered, so the group unfortunately ate separately. The gluten-free meal ordered due to an allergy came with fried onions and was therefore returned (this happened the same way on the last visit). The reorder of drinks initiated by us and the invoice requested later took a very long time. The service lady drew a total bill without further inquiry - when we asked for separate payment, she was visibly annoyed and made this very obvious. The service seems overwhelmed, the food was unfortunately not convincing (duck in rice paper 90% noodles/10% meat) - if necessary you should place fewer tables in the restaurant, focus on the (thus perhaps affordable) service and 2 euros more for call the courts. Really a shame!

Unassuming Vietnamese restaurant from the outside. The dishes are very aromatic and taste good. The vegetables are on point with a bite.

We had booked a table for four people for 8 p.m. on Saturday. We got there on time, but there was no table for us. After 15 minutes something became available and there was a table in the winter garden right at the entrance. The sliding door was always open. It was cold and the smell of cigarettes constantly wafted into the room. There were blankets, but it was still uncomfortable and cold. After another 15 minutes we were able to order. It took another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. After another 20 minutes the starters were brought to us. Visually they looked good. The sweet potato fries with mango dip were also delicious until you came across fried pieces of meat. The waiter's advice only revealed that these pieces of meat were taken from the table, but unfortunately the fries were not. There was a vegetarian among us! He was disgusted by it. There was no word of apology or compensation. As we cleared away we showed more pieces of meat. There was a “sorry,” but nothing more. By now the restaurant was emptying and we asked to sit down inside. That worked too. After the table was wiped down, there was a disgusting smell on the table top. I also noticed while we were still sitting at the door that a cutlery basket with napkins had fallen to the floor at the service station. This was saved and the napkins were put back in the basket and filled with cutlery and placed on the next table. It was now 9:30 p.m. when we got our main course. It looked appetizing, but the quality wasn't great. The noodles were completely soggy. The meat was fried to death and free of any spices. There was coriander between the noodles, which I don't like at all and which wasn't listed. I would have chosen a different dish. Everywhere (starter and main course) there was the same shredded salad on it, which wasn't served either. The food didn't convince us. Regarding the drinks, it must also be said that the Cola and the apple spritzer were almost non-carbonated. The staff was always friendly, but not really attentive. I wasn't impressed by the ambience either. Overall, we cannot agree with the positive hype. There is no recommendation from us!

There is a good selection of delicious dishes here, also for vegetarians, for example with tofu. The lunch menu with a small starter soup is also recommended.

The beef plate was overall tasty and large. But because the beef was medium cooked, sliced in big pieces, and with plenty of fat, this turned into an impossible chewing mission. Great terrace with relaxing instrumental music and flower decorations.

Pho Bo was nice! Beware, no Mastercard or Visa.

Friendly service, even without a reservation, tried to find a free seat for us on a public holiday evening. The dishes on offer are very tasty 😋 and rich. Unfortunately the cocktails are served with too much ice (50% ice 50% drink😬).

Really tasty food, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere

Food was quite good (Halal), unfortunately the service staff was a bit crazy, brought the wrong food and although the food (meat) is Halal, alcohol is sold. (What I didn't know beforehand)

Well, unfortunately not so friendly.

We did not dine here because the restaurant did not have our reservation, however they offered us a table next too close to another table at first but then moved us to another table where it was very hot. Our server did not understand that I needed a gluten free meal and overall poor communication so we left and walked to another restaurant where we had an amazing meal. Would never go there again.

The service war realy good. They have a good optin of traditional viatnamese and asian food and good Prices. Do not take international visa or mastercard so bring cash, which is the reason it get 3 and not 4 stars.

I was there twice in a row this week as a single guest. In my opinion, you rarely come across something like this in Germany. Fast service, acceptable time until the food is on the table, super tasty food and if you want to pay it's very quick. A special greeting goes to the lovely “Chef Waitress”:) Thank you very much

They are fast serving and the food is good. They don't allow you to pay by card, only cash. They report this when you are already seated at the table.

Yesterday I had dinner at Mama Cook with my best friend. I didn't like the food that much, but my best friend thought it was good. We are both students and therefore did not have the opportunity to leave tips. The service was ok until the payment. But after the waiter saw that we didn't leave a tip, he was pissed. He talked to another waitress about us in a foreign language (you could tell because they kept looking at us and talking). The waitress was very pissed afterwards and they wanted us out of the store as quickly as possible.

Incredibly good experience. The furnishings are very lovingly designed and the ambience is correspondingly great. The food was also amazing and very affordable in times of inflation. Price performance is top! Any time!

Very disappointing drinks. We ordered the duck teriyaki- which ironically had only 1 piece of duck. The main dishes were good.

The reservation we had could not be kept due to space constraints. So our group of eight got separated. The reception was reasonably friendly. We were able to order drinks quickly, but unfortunately we had to wait over 40 minutes for the drinks. Even when I asked, they didn't come quicker. We placed the food straight away with the drink order, but we were able to live with the advice that it might take 20 minutes. We'd rather not start when the food actually arrived. I definitely can’t recommend the Long Iland Ice Tea…. The food was delicious.

I thought the food was a bit bland, maybe I was unlucky because I saw very good reviews. As for the service and atmosphere, it bothered us that it was 10:15 and they changed the lighting, like when they run you from the club (from half light to full light) to close windows, etc... everything almost on top of it, when we were still having dinner and yes Hours are until 11:00 pm, then they disappeared to ask for the bill and we were waiting for a long time. I wouldn't return.

The number of employees seemed small compared to the number of guests. I waited outside for more than 20 minutes to get a seat. The table was small and crowded with cables under the table. The worst thing was that the table shook. I asked for another table but was told several times that it was the only table available because I was alone. There were plenty of other tables. There were 2 tables for 2 people so when they were removed there was enough space for 1 person. The other table didn't have a reservation sign. They still gave me a table in the corner where it looked like the staff was eating. Disappointed that they didn't clean the table properly when clearing and didn't remove the leftover food very well. I had already wasted a lot of time and didn't know where else to go, so I ate anyway. I was traveling in Berlin and this restaurant ruined my experience. Food was okay, but for me just one visit would be enough. I recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait. In addition, you should not go “alone” to avoid being assigned a dirty, cramped table.

Went to Mama Cook's this evening on our first evening in Berlin because our hotel is right next door. Tiach reservation online hassle-free. Friendly welcome in the restaurant. Food 10/10. Very large portion, didn't finish everything. Very friendly waitresses who asked several times whether everything was OK, whether we liked it, etc. We'd be happy to go back!
